That is a prohibition which applies only to Muslims and dhimmis under Muslim domination.

If Muslims complain, they should be reminded that people living in free societies are under no obligation to comply with Muslim teachings or to even respect them.

Actually, this is not an original idea. I believe I recall seeing some examples from Arab/Muslim cartoonists post the London bombings, though the character was not necessarily intended to be Mohammed, just the prototypical suicide bomber.

Thanks for the information. Yes we do go to Italy and Rome in particular, quite often. I really love the place, and what with Ryan Air, Easy Jet etal, it is really quite inexpensive.

My fear of islam, my anger at having to face this bs in the 21st century, when, i thought, we had, in much of the world, payed a huge price but come a long way, allowed me to be pleased at that sad cartoon, actually more pleased at the fact that someone was brave enough to 'publish' it, than the cartoon itself.

Well, there you have it. Any lawyer can see the loophole. Big Mo didn't have a soul, so drawing pictures of him does not fall within the scope of the statutory prohibition.

Of course, that's not to say that some deranged individual (i.e., a true believer) won't behave like a KKK knight and take the law into his own hands.
