Egypt discontinues dialogue with Denmark on human rights and discrimination because of cartoon dispute

The Muhammad cartoon controversy just keeps growing. From the Copenhagen Post, with thanks to Fjordman:

A Danish newspaper's decision to print cartoons of Muslim prophet Mohammed have caused a diplomatic crisis between Denmark and Egypt, national broadcaster DR reported on Thursday.

Egypt's ambassador in Libanon, Hussein Darrar, told news service AFP that Egypt had decided not to continue its dialogue with Denmark on human rights and discrimination.

The Egyptian ambassador in Denmark requested, along with ten other ambassadors of Muslim states, to meet with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen to discuss daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten's decision to print twelve caricatures of the prophet, an act considered blasphemous by many Muslims.

Rasmussen refused to meet with the ambassdors, saying that if they thought he had any power to influence what a national newspaper did and printed, the essence of Danish democracy had been lost on them....

'The Egyptian ambassador in Denmark has said that the case no longer rests with the embassy. It is now being treated at an international level. As far as I have been informed by my government, the cartoon case has already been placed on the agenda for the Islamic Conference Organisation's extraordinary summit in the beginning of December,' Mahdy said.

We the country that treat the Copts as sub humans are disgusted with you Danes.

Exactly. Copts in Egypt are kipnapped, raped, have their churches destroyed/can't be rebuilt, suffer oppression and the good-ol' dhimmi status. All is right and proper in Egypt.

An infidel newspaper publishes 12 drawings and we have an international incident.

Ah, the balanced morality of it all.

I love the smell of Islam in the morning, it smells like.......victory.

This is surely one of the most surreal stories ever to appear on DW. It reads like the plot outline of a Peter Sellers film.

No discussions on human rights until Denmark imposes censorship. It's like something out of a George Orwell novel.

I wish I'd have become a cartoonist.

Anybody surpriesed? The muslims already believe they have the right to censor western newspapers, while making use of old nazi cartoons back at home

H,F&H: and this differs from decades of hew-and-cry against Israel's H R record by all of the Middle Eastern despots while they continue to operate police states in what way?

Posted by: waterdragon52 [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 4, 2005 9:20 AM

Waterdragon,

I'm not sure I understand the point of your question. I was simply responding to the contradiction inherent in the posted item. I was not in any way suggesting that the hypocrisy of Egypt and the other fascist Arab regimes in the Middle East is a new phenomenon.

Egypt's in a snit? Oh my.

Well, fair's fair, as they say. No Mo-mo cartoons in Denmark?

All rightie, then - no more use of the word "shirk" in the ulema.

Come on, now. It's a straight deal. Social objection for social objection. Straight up. Fair and square. What say the Egg-wipetians?

It seems to me that Muslims faith in their so-called "religion" seems pretty shaky when 12 cartoons can rock the foundations of international relations -- Is anyone else as tired as I am of this dysfunctional family member ? -- Is any one else fed up with the Muslim's outbursts and his rage -- at his concocted umbrage at a never ending stream of babyish "offenses" and "insults" to Islam?

Anyone else disgusted at his tiresome deflections away from self examination -- his projections onto others for his own crimes and general lack of character? Is anyone else as bone weary of the Muslim inability to face reality -- to contend with their revolting incompetencies -- to grapple with their dysfunctional cultures and their broken relgion?

12 Cartoons published, and 11 "ambassadors" from Islamic countries DEMAND apologies -- REQUIRE that we curtail our freedoms so that their hair trigger over wrought Muslim sensibilities aren't "offended."

I hope they're hearing a big dose of "BUGGER OFF" from various quarters in Western salons and ministerial offices... It should have been the message sent when their constituencies back home cheered after 9/11 in their hundreds of millions --

It's time to start pushing back against this dysfunctional family member -- to begin isolating him -- to begin quietly suggesting that he needs help at the psychiatric office, perhaps mood stabilizing drugs for his population at large -- perhaps cultural and religious rehab is in order -- If not, the authorities in the world will have to do something about his outbursts and his endless paranoid hallucinations...

(such dysfunctional family members can become serious threats...)

H,F&H: just underlining your point. When ever the usual suspect countries are asked about their own human rights records when they are attacked, either from within or without, they say that they can't do anything about it because Israel is the over-arching problem.

As an old Stooges fan, love your screen ID.

It's Muslims' human right to express rage at the Mohammed caricatures.

It's our human right to laugh at them and the truth they contain!

Which Egyptian official is dealing with this matter, is it Hitler Tantawi?

Artistic freedom what a joy to have relish it and to those who never had it before don't worry it won't kill you. Oh you Muslims don't you know that many think your prophet is just like in the cartoons what are you mad about how we see your prophet in our minds or 12 cartoons will the holy war start over artistic freedom?Wait till you discover freedom at Mecca is that possible?Let Mecca be the freedom capital of the world am I dreaming yes and you cannot take my dream from me that one day Mecca will have all sorts of freedoms of religion of art of values and of conscience.

As I said on the immediately previous thread.

Muslims are insecure, this incident is proof of that, and that is their Achilles Heel.

I applaud the Danish Prime Minister for sticking to his guns and protecting his fellow countrymen's right to free speech.

As far as I have been informed by my government, the cartoon case has already been placed on the agenda for the Islamic Conference Organisation's extraordinary summit in the beginning of December,' Mahdy said.

What they are trying to do here is to up the ante and at the same time incite Jihadists to violence against Denmark. If terrorism does occur in Denmark, it will then be claimed as being justified by the muslim world, and by some of our own as well.

In upping the ante, the muslim world is hoping that pressure can be brought to bear on Denmark from other Western states and Ms Rice in the US, to make Denmark back down.

I sincerely hope this does not happen. It will be claimed as a victory for islamic laws over freedom of speech of the western world.

The General Attorney in Egypt has just announced that the play that caused all the riots, was never displayed in any church and there was never a CD recording. Then we have to nterpret it as there was no violence, no church blazing, no nun stabbing, and no..., no.... All is fine in Egypt.
Now, please let's focus on the cartoons!!

"If terrorism does occur in Denmark, it will then be claimed as being justified by the muslim world, and by some of our own as well."

The cycle continues from Muhammad 1400 years ago until to today...

1. Pretext concocted by Muslims to justify Islamic aggression... Pretext is smokescreen to allow Muslims to further their imperialist agenda... Causes confusion, provides a priori excuse for their aggression, and covers their tracks after they act by creating a false discussion later which obscures their complicity...

2. If the person they attack surrenders, Muslim victory is declared. If the person they attack fights back -- a new pretext is added for more Muslim aggression and violence. The attacks and false pretexts continue to proliferate...

....until....

3. Fatigue sets in among the victims of Islamic aggression and they capitulate, or until they are annihilated.

4. Muslims have a new base from which to operate and begin phase 1-4 all over again...

As you posted on another thread, repatriation is the only answer.

I have said this for more then 4 years but have also considered an exchange of populations as another method. Exchange our muslims for Christians in muslim nations. That is necessary or else the Christian population will be massacred. But that option is fast running out as Christians are fleeing the ME as soon as they can get exit visas.

Repatriation or exchange of populations is the only way out. Harsh as this is, it is the most humane way to avoid a catastrophe. What frightens me is that we are moving towards a new world war that is quite unlike previous world wars. This world war will be a civil war ie a global civil war - the very worst type imaginable. Else we are looking forward to a Three Conjecture scenario leading to deaths on an unprecedented scale.

Churchill had this to say of democracies that are left with no option

"No terms but fight or death were offered. No reparation or apology could be made. . . The red light of retribution played on the bayonets and the lances, and civilization—elsewhere sympathetic, merciful, tolerant, ready to discuss or to argue, eager to avoid violence, to submit to law, to effect a compromise—here advanced with an expression of inexorable sternness, and rejecting all other courses, offered only the arbitration of the sword."

Separation leaves hope for the future for everybody. Islam will collapse quite quickly in historic terms if it is unable to expand (that is after all its main reason), and thus release the 1 billion souls in its enslavement. And even if islam does not collapse, they will not be a menace to the safety and security of the rest of the world, for the simple reason that they will not have access to harvest infidel lives.

I just came back to this thread, DP111 -- I love your post above, and especially your quote from the indefatigable Churhill -- "red light of retribution played on the bayonets...!" WOW! The BEST...!

Islam is the WorldCom of world religions -- If it can't keep expanding and gobbling up competitors, and in the process reshuffling the books so nobody notices how utterly corrupt it is at it center, then it is doomed to collapse...

I agree that expulsion is the fairest and least violent option available, but at this moment in time it is utterly unthinkable for the vast majority of Westerners to contemplate... After grievous Islamic crimes, it will be a far more palatable option, but the ball may be in motion by then for the global civil war you warn of -- Think of it -- New York uninhabitable for 10,000 years -- 200,000 vaporized, 4,000,000 casualties -- 15,000,000,000,000 (that's 15 trillion) instantly in direct losses -- long term damage? 50 Trillion ? 100 Trillion? That's 4-8 years of the total GDP of the USA for god's sake... But it wouldn't destroy us...

This will only and finally wake people up... The freaking Muslims think they can destroy us -- after all, they've raped and murdered former world powers into Islamic sewers in the past Think of Byzantium, India, Persia -- But I believe America is as different in the world as anything in the last 2000 years -- and Islam has come up against its match... If they force the "arbitration of the sword," then BY GOD THEY'LL HAVE IT...
