What's not to like about Islam if you're the Prince of Wales

Anti-dhimmitude from Julie Burchill in the TimesOnline, with thanks to John:

It is said that one of Charles Windsor’s aims during his tour of the United States is to make the country more understanding towards Islam, a religion in which he has shown an inordinate interest for many years now. This would be the poor, persecuted underdog Islam, I take it, which already rules 56 nations on this earth of which only a handful — that’ll be a hand with amputated fingers, in Sharia style — are democracies.

That would be the Islam that oppresses its own people — the Lord forbid they should have anything as subversive and grown up as the vote! — and which in Sudan, Bali and beyond murders people of all faiths who have had the sheer nerve to attempt to straighten their necks from under the yoke of the theocrats. This would be the Islam that leads Iran to call for Israel to be wiped from the face of the earth, lest its example of obdurate democracy gives the serfs of the Muslim fiefdoms all around it ideas about freedom.

I wonder why Prince Charles seeks to big up powerful, theocratic Islam — which already controls so much land and wealth and yet will kill and kill to gain more — and not vulnerable, pluralistic Israel? Why doesn’t he invest as much energy in defence of the persecuted and murdered Christians who suffer for their beliefs under Islamic regimes? Well, I think I know why; because cleaving to Islam is the one way that men who wish to appear liberal and enlightened can promote reactionary ideas. Monarch-worshipping, woman-oppressing, non-democratic — what’s there not for Charles to like!

Read it all.

This royal prince should be treated to a grand vacation in a hotel in Clichy sur Bois complete with the complementary molotov cocktail, moans of raped women, free lighting from the immolations et all. Ah the grande vacation that Islam provides in kuffar Paris. :)

Prince Charles needs to keep quite on matters he know nothing about. Then again, he thought King George III was misunderstood too.

Why Liz Windsor and her horde don't stick to sitting in their museums and smiling for the money-laden tourist is beyond me. That's what they're being paid for by British taxpayers!

Why is it so difficult for people to believe Charles would be enamored with Islam?

Think about this silly prince's upbringing -- From his earliest memories, and despite all evidence to the contrary (which is ample) he has been fed the lie that he is superior to other mortals! And this is in spite of all the evidence that his belief system is a sham -- a sewer of depravity, ignorance, and hypocrisy -- He is told that he is "royal" -- and part of an exclusive club which divides the world into those who are royal, and all the rest... He's referred to as "your Highness" -- he is taught that his position is part of God's plan on earth -- that he is destined to rule over other men... To we mere mortals, at least those with enough sense not to buy into this crap -- it seems preposterous, yet this is the malarkey he's been fed since birth. The quality of his "royalness" somehow and magically bestows superiority on him, and those that surround him reinforce this belief every day.

Just so, now think of the Muslim. From his earliest memories, and despite all evidence to the contrary (which is ample) he has been fed the lie that he is superior to other mortals... And this is in spite of all the evidence that his belief system is a sham -- a sewer of ignorance, hatred, and despair ---- He is told that the most important thing is to be a "Muslim" -- to be part of an exclusive club which divides the world into those who are Muslims, and all the rest... He's taught that his religion is superior to all others, that his "prophet" is the epitomy of perfection -- that God has chosen him and his brethren to one day rule the world -- to we mere infidels, at least those with enough sense not to buy into this crap -- it seems preposterous, yet this is the malarkey he's been fed since birth. The quality of his "Muslimness" somehow and magically bestows superiority on him, and the 1.3 billion that surround him reinforce this belief every day.

Julie Burchill is always worth a read, and is right about many things, particularly feminism, the sexual double standard and Islam, and wrong about others particularly 'chavs' and the monarchy.

She touches here on something I've also noticed. Some left wing men never really liked the idea of women having equal rights, and now they can defend their chauvinistic attitude, yet still appear progressive because of multiculturalism, with its attendant veneration of backward cultures. Islam in particular offers them, and silly women who go along with this, a let out. It is the religion, in the West, of ethnic minorities, who are always to be above reproach, and of course there is 'equality in difference' - the biggest con trick going. The veil is, of course, liberating. Women should have the 'right' to dress in a sack, the 'right' to marry at nine, or to enter a polygamous marriage.

Recently The Guardian - Burchill wrote for this until she decided it was too anti-Semitic - carried an article saying that although polygamy might jar a little with our 'Western sensibilities' it was really not too bad, and better than our decadent Western way of doing things, where men have mistresses. Amazingly this nonsense was written by a woman, who seemed to miss the point entirely that women have affairs too, but nobody advocates a system that legitimises this, and that in Islamic countries, women's infidelity is severely punished, whereas men's is often unremarked on, or legitimised by 'marriage'.

The Guardian, for those not familiar with the British press, is supposed to be a left wing, progressive newspaper. Yet it is defending the custom of the desert and of the jungle. The Telegraph, meanwhile, is regarded as conservative. Rightly, the Telegraph would condemn polygamy, and other reactionary aspects of Islam as 'not the way we do things in Britain'.

Whether 'conservative' is a good or bad thing depends on what is being conserved. Women in the UK and other Western countries have had a hard time struggling for equal rights. They should be conserved. Acceptance of Islamic customs, thought patterns and values is a direct threat to these rights.

All feminists should throw away their Guardian and read The Telegraph.

Julie Burchill, thank you for your brave and frank criticism of the ills of Islam. Such criticism of Islam should be the norm, not the exception, in the mainstream media.

Prince Charles, thank you, for through your folly, outrageous ignorance, and treasonous statements, you have attracted public criticism of Islam.

I think it is significant that despite the notorious acrimony surrounding their divorce, and the care of their son, Julie Burchill and her former husband Tony Parson are the two popular writers who best understand Islam and the left currently working in the UK.
Both started life as music writers, they met and married during the punk era of the 80s and despite having hardly exchanged a civil word since the days of the Sex Pistols their careers and views have taken a similar path.

"All feminists should throw away their Guardian and read The Telegraph"

I was never that comfortable with the Guardian as I always felt that the paper patronised my working class upbringing. Anti-semitic is even more damning. I used to scoff at the Telegraph as the "Torygraph" but the older I get the more I appreciate their depth of coverage and the tone. Mostly, these days I read The Times on line.

slowly, bit by bit the truth is getting out.

I have sent e mails to prominent journalists, and they reply, sympathetically.

new labours ne religious hatred bill will not prevent thetruth from getting out.

articles critical of islam are appearing more often in more news papers all the time.
the mere fact that islam is mentioned as a factor in trouble and strife around the world from Paris, to Beslan to India, Thailand to the Philippines is good for our cause.

Which reminds me, what's Michael Jackson doing in Bahrain?

Islam offers many strange features for some very strange people. Prince Charles, let's face it, is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. That's the nicest thing I can say about him.

"All feminists should throw away their Guardian." Polly Toynbee is the only one left who has honestly stuck to her principles and she was voted "Islamophobe" of the year by some nutjob outfit for doing so. Maddie Bunting quivers all over at the sight of an Imam ( you can almost hear the thrill in her gushing tones) and her articles induce me to vomit with her toadying up to Islamofascistslime.

As for Charles----- he has long been a joke but unfortunately, an expensive joke. Personally, I think he will be forced to abdicate in favour of his son who seems a bit more sensible as well as having the charisma of his mother.

Prince Charles is a "buffoon". Why does he care how Islam is perceived. If he genuinely wants to do good, there are plenty of people who are sick, poor, etc. But then that doesn;t fit into his
egotistical view of himself that he is "royalty'.

But the expression "royal pain in the ass" fits him nicely!!

I love Julie's writing, and I have to say I've
practically stopped reading the Guardian/Observer
since she split. Yeah, she's a lefty, but she comes from the freedom loving side of the left and she was honest. I'd kick back an beverage of choice> with her any time.

"It is said that one of Charles Windsor’s aims during his tour of the United States is to make the country more understanding towards Islam"

Funny he should think that because I was under the impression that no one over here gives a Koran's worth about what Euro royals have to say.

Posted by: JadeDragoness [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 6, 2005 2:51 PM

The Royals are supposed to represent and promote Britain.

But now Prince Charles is going on tour to the US to promote Islam.

So does that mean now that Britain is Islamic?

Posted by: Voltaire [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 6, 2005 3:55 PM

No, Britain is not Islamic, at least not yet, he's just gone over to the dark side.

" read The Telegraph" as discussed above.
I took the advice and called up The Telegraph on line.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion/main.jhtml?xml=/opinion/2005/11/07/do0701.xml&sSheet=/news/2005/11/07/ixnewstop.html

This is today's opinion piece on the French riots. Just the graphic says it all. The bleu, blanc, rouge of libertie, egalite, fraternite, burning beneath the crescent moon of the night sky.

".....most of those living in the French ghettoes are Muslims and have grown up during a period of Islamic radicalisation. Many of the youths hurling petrol bombs on Parisian estates look up to a slightly older group of mosque stalwarts. These men are capable of being forces for both good and mischief; there have been examples from the past fortnight of situations calmed, but also of attackers acting under their direction, so that Muslim-owned businesses, a halal butcher's shop and a kebab joint, for example, are spared, while a bank branch and symbols of another France are targeted.

Intelligence officials have already spoken of the involvement of the more sinister of such figures in the recruitment of young French Muslims to fight the American-led coalition in Iraq. Several have been killed, others are missing. The gravest fear for French ministers is that the trouble of the past 10 days has been orchestrated by Islamists ..."

Telling it like it is.

Sparing muslim-owned businesses. Well, there it is then: islamicists, killing and burning in the name of religion. Pathetic racists.

A good idea for everyone! -- spare Muslim businesses altogether - -this should include spending cash there, or even wasting your time to go through the front door... It will save them lots of bookkeeping expenses by not having to account for your cash (although I somehow suspect many of them are not completely on the up and up when it comes to bookkeeping...) And you will also be sparing them the need to put gas in their cars to make trips to the bank to deposit money.... Not spending "infidel" cash at Muslim businesses is really quite an Islam-friendly thing to do -- in the end it gives them more time to do their most important things as Muslims -- pray to allah and not mix with infidels...
