A crowd of about 1500 Muslims attacked and burned two churches in eastern Pakistan following reports that a Christian man had desecrated Islam's holy book, the Quran, police have said.A school, student hostel and the home of a priest were also torched in the incident near the town of Sangla Hill, about 130km (80 miles) northeast of the major eastern city of Lahore, said area police official, Ali Asghar Dogar.
The attacks on Saturday came a day after a local Muslim resident accused Yousaf Masih, a Christian, of burning a one-room Islamic school along with copies of the Quran.
Dogar said no one was injured in the attacks, which were being investigated. About two dozen people had been arrested over the incident, he said.
Protesters also burnt tires on village roads and blocked traffic for several hours.
Shahbaz Bhatti, head of the All Pakistan Minorities Alliance - which promotes the rights of minorities in mainly Sunni Muslim Pakistan - denied the charges and condemned the attacks.
"No Christian burned copies of the Quran," he told The Associated Press. "No Christian even can think of doing it," he said.
"We have maximum regard and respect for the Quran and Islam's Prophet Muhammad."
Mr. Bhatti understands that he must speak and act the submissive dhimmi or he'll be a dead dhimmi.
Local Muslim leaders used mosque public address systems to urge Muslims to attack the churches, Bhatti said. Dogar said police were also investigating the burning on Friday night of a religious school."Some people told us last night that it was done by Yousaf Masih, and we have registered a case against him," Dogar said. Another police official, Pervez Rahim, said Masih had been detained as part of the investigation.
However, Dogar said the allegations against Masih were apparently levelled by people who lost money while gambling with him on Friday.
"We don't know who is right and who is wrong, but the fact remains that hundreds of people today attacked two churches and burned them," he said, adding that the situation was "now under control."
A devil's advocate might ask: If the Christian man did indeed burn down the Islamic school, then what type of society is justified by resorting to mob rule in its retaliation?

The savages are at it agian, no one is surprised or amazed. These acts show the savage mentality of Islam and they want to bring this ideology to the West?? The best the west could to is to start deportations of Muslims to their own lands, othewise what is happening in France is in store for all western countries. Even with years of exposure living in the west the savage mentality never alters; remember 7/7 in London by British born savages. Britain is already going downhill; the way of a dhimmit state

Muslims gambling? Didn't know they were into that sort of entertainment. Is there a muslim out there that would like to wager that muslims didn't set fire to this so called school and it's koranic content in an attempt to frame the (un)lucky Mr. Masih?

Eric: Given it's the type of society that felt justified in massacring or expelling its ancient Jewish communities by the hundreds of thousands in response to the establishment of the State of Israel, swelling the nascient nation's population with most of those refugees. They really showed them uppity Jews, didn't they?

Burned Qurans? A room?
So a Pakistan Christian, surrounded on all sides by Pakistan muslims so tolerant (tolerant as a King might be, one could argue) of insult to their precious Prophet that a man raking leaves against the side of the mosque was sentenced to death, took it into his own head to burn the Quran.
Right.
Then, of course, wouldn't he be a trapped, oppressed minority which Pakistan has treated as subhuman for his entire life, who may be economically disadvantaged and alienated from society.
So his burning down islamic things would be ok, then, to use the Paris example, right? Not religiously related.
So then he should receive jizya and social assistance.
...odd, but I don't think the mob decided to do that.

How many Qur'ans were in the World Trade Center?
How many Qur'ans were aboard the planes that struck the towers, either being read by the passengers (or the hijackers!) or stashed in their baggage?
(Or is it haram to stash your Qur'an in your baggage?)
How many Qur'ans were aboard the Madrid subway? The London tube?
Surely there were Qur'ans at that wedding in Amman, or in the Shi'ite mosques that the Legitimate Iraqi Resistance to Foreign OccupationŽ so enjoys blowing up.

The Religion of Barbaric, Uncivilized, Feral, Brutish Sociopaths.
They have only a few solutions for everything, Murder, Riot, and Terror being the top three.
Any group that has so little self control, and an absolutely culture-wide complete lack of any sort of basic honesty and decency for others, that they riot for the slightest offense is a bunch of barbaric savages. That also means that any group that can distort petty affronts into earth-shattering events for the sake of rioting is a bunch of uncivilized, barbaric savages. This population does not have the capacity to act in a civilized manner, I don't care what you drape them in or what setting you place them in. You can put them in the grandest palace and dress them in the finest clothes, and if they erupt into a murderous rampage, as is par for the course, they are still a bunch of uncivilized, brutish, savages. There is no place for them, at this point in their evolution, among the good and decent people of the world. They are a cancer within the body of humanity. They must be isolated and prevented from harming the civilized world. We must do it because time after time after time after time they prove that they simply cannot help themselves. They are not that developed.
Wouldn't you think that somewhere, when the call to riot is sent out, there's some guy who thinks to himself, "F**k me, not AGAIN?! But there isn't. Like breathing and eating, engaging in death, destruction, the causing of pain and fear, and mindless rage are simply a unavoidable, truly inherent part of the makeup of these savage, uncivilized hordes.
No right-thinking person can think otherwise. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior. Nothing, absolutely nothing can justify acting in this way. Fervently, righteously, unashamedly.

Ray C. - indeed! Why, to use some people's perspective (incidentally: an earlier posting on here deals with it, go forth and search thy engines, that the truth may be found), that would be a worse crime than all the people killed in any of the attacks. Because, of course, the Quran carries Allah's holy word, and it must be protected.
Gee. Allah sure needs a lot of help for a god.

One of the favorite sports of pakistanis is to bully the Christian minority.
The only Christian player of the pakistan national cricket team was bullied into becoming a muslim.
