Christians under siege in Pakistan after riot

More detail on the riots in Pakistan from the Telegraph, with thanks to Sr. Soph:

The Christians of Sangla Hill in Pakistan were a community under siege last night after a Muslim mob rampaged through the town, burning churches and a Roman Catholic compound.

Father Samson Dilawar, parish priest of the Roman Catholic Church of Nazooli-i-Rooh, the Blessing of the Sacred Spirit, was still dressed in the cassock in which he fled when the mob knocked down the gate to the church compound on Saturday.

"I heard the mullahs had been telling people over loudspeakers, 'We are guardians of the Koran and it is our foremost duty to teach a lesson to those kafirs'," he said. "Then they came to my door."...

They shouted insults at the Christians, calling them "kafirs" and "chucha", the abusive term for non-Muslims and untouchables, and "kuta", which means dogs.

Local police and the Christian community agreed on how the violence began: a Christian man had spent several days gambling with Muslim men and had won a small fortune.

Embittered, his opponents spread the rumour that he had set fire to the koran mahal, a box for preserving torn pages of the Koran. Soon the alleged deed was broadcast by mullahs from mosques.

Fr Dilawar fled to the nearby convent where he hid with a group of nuns. "Ours was the only door that they did not try," he said. "It was luck. That is how our lives were saved."

His residence was doused in chemicals and set alight, gutting the building and destroying century-old documents.

In the same compound, St Anthony's Primary School, which has 1,500 Muslim and Christian pupils, was ransacked and burnt.

The same treatment was meted out to the church, convent, boarding house and medical centre. The feet were snapped off statues of Jesus, metal crucifixes were buckled and nuns' habits torched....

The beams of his parsonage were open to daylight yesterday. "Religious fanatics have stirred this up," said Mr Pervez, who has been in the area for 15 years.

The rampage extended to three other churches on the outskirts of Sanga Hill. "We told the authorities that there was going to be trouble," said Mr Pervez. "So they sent four policemen who did nothing to stop the mayhem."

Yet another story for me to print & leave by the front door for when the confused Methodists come around again collecting money for Pakistans Earth Quake victims.

I know equating charity monies with social change in the recipients is frowned upon in the West, but the Christians in the UK who are doing what Christians do - help people out - need an education as to where their collected money is really going.

Whats the point in saving Pakistans children from diseases rising from the Earth Quake if they are only to become infected in later life with the violent Jihad ideology?

After their Islamic indoctrination, will they actually remember or be told that their lives were saved by Western aid & the Kuffar's generosity?

Hi Albion
I wanted to give something for the earthquake victims so I gave to the Barnabas fund appeal, specifically for a Christian group in Pakistan who will, as they put it, be pushed to the back of the queue when any other aid comes round.

OT I have just been watching the BBC news lunchtime report. I should have been dusting the telly but I had to make sure the screen was thourghly clean didn't I?
About faith in Britain, and after how many people consider themselves to be Christian it went on to how many people don't "understand" Islam and how so many are "less positive" about Islam since 7th July. Cut to London School of Imams and much soothing taqyyia from the head bloke. Followed by the reporter saying how both religions share the "core moral values" No we b*** well don't.
This is not quite on the point but on the general problem of BBC bias I intend to follow this link and make a comment to the Israel-Palestinian impartiality review. http://www.bbcgovernors.co.uk/docs/rev_israelipalestinian.html
You may be interested yourself. So might other UK posters.

Hi Granny,

Thanks for the Israel-Palestinian BBC Review link - where to start is the problem!

All DW / JW readers in the UK & those who receive the BBC's "wisdom" on the Israeli Palestinian conflict please get involved.

The MCB & many other Islamic UK "Charities" more than probably have a direct hotline to the Governors at the BBC - so here is our limited chance to redress the heinous bias in the BBC's reporting of all things Israeli.

Sorry Granny, even though you have single handedly changed my mind with regards to Christians in England on many fronts, I have not given one penny to the Earth Quake appeal, & reading further stories of our esteemed "ally" I am not likely to change my position anytime soon.

Cheers
Albion

Granny:

Re the Beeb's reportage, HonestReporting notes that both the Beeb and the Guardian have picked up the most spurious allegation from a Palestinian psychiatrist (not a gynocologist) who claims that the Israelis are bombarding the Palestinians with sonic bombs which are causing a high rate of miscarriages. His findings are based on, get this, a two-month period, following the Gaza evacuation. (great science behind the claims). http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=20169

What the hell is going on with the media? Has it turned into one great, big anti-Israel yellow press, willing to promote stories like that, in any light other than to illustrate the baselessness of most of the claims made against Israel by Palestine and its supporters?

Where to start is indeed the problem. And we only have until the afternoon of Friday week (25 November) left to get our views in.

The BBC stories after the earthquake of grief in Bradford and Dewsbury got a hollow laugh in certain quarters.

Waterdragon,

Charles Martel picked that story up and linked to it OT last week.

I made the point then that Concorde was tested regularly over London in the late 60s and after the initial interest, amongst all the industrial and traffic noise, it caused very little consternation. I thought the BBC was starting to get it, and that they ought to get on the winning side quick, but no, they have gone back to the dhimmi ways.
Some of their reports are damn near treason, especially if one had a relative serving abroad.

Are you surprised by this? I'm not surprised by this. Anyone surprised by this? Anyone?

This is not even "news" anymore, hasn't been for a thousand years, although I don't for a minute think it shouldn't be reported. I wish that the MSM would keep a "death-count" of dhimmis and dhimmi villages around the muslim world like they do coalition troops, but I know why they don't. Western death is deserved because, stupid, we're evil, but dhimmi Christian and Jewish death is culturally authentic, and probably an Islamophobic rumor anyway, and who are we to judge. Nothing like assisting the hangman in tightening the noose around your own neck.

This happened in a place with contact with the outside world. Imagine the countless sh!tholes where this goes on without being reported.

Reading Bostoms "Legacy", there's a piece about the destruction of a Zoroastrian village. Describes how first 2 or 3 muslims moved in, then a family or 2, then a mosque, and on and on until the bullying and the threats begin, etc.
Jackboots and a turban.

re: sonic bombs

The limitless capacity for the insane. Maybe that's why the muslim world is such a feral, lifeless, unproductive wasteland of negative energy. The only things they produce are either evil, or imaginary.

Reminds me of that hysterical story during the Gaza pullout where they thought Isrealis had secretly buried drums of chemicals under the houses to kill them. They were actually septic tanks, but since the "superior' trogs didn't know what sanitation and plumbing was, they let their fertile, fevered little lobes of hate run wild.

These are not civilized people. An inverted, islamocentric sense of right and wrong, thuggish, brutal, feral,Hobbesian. In relation to the rest of humanity there is no compassion, empathy, tolerance, cooperative impulses, creative spirit(unless tied to destructive urges), no honesty, morality, equality. They praise deceit and violence, terror and oppression. They do not have the skills required to participate in the modern world, or the requisite inner qualities for contributing productively to the family of Man. Where they exist outside their wastelands of origin, in any number, life is diminished, the physical environment is degraded, the social life-force is retarded, financial health is stunted, and cultural vibrancy declines. Parasitic by intent and design, they are an endless drain on the host. Islam and the West are fundamentally incompatable. They cannot coexist without nearly irreparable harm being done to the West, since it is the West who makes the good-faith efforts at cooperation, and suffers the damage as a result.

I hate that I think this way but I don't believe I have any options, don't believe that what I see happening in the world allows me any other conclusions, won't allow myself to sit by passively while civilization dies.

Notice that in the BBC and other news channels, whenever they are forced to admit that violence or destruction is related to Islam, they have a muslim condemning the attacks. Their efforts to hide the truth are becoming more and more bizzare, and more and more people are starting to see through this.

Those damned Christians in Pakistan, always
oppressing the righteous mohammadans, well
they have only themselves to blame. If only there
were Jews in Pakistan, then the mohammadans could
kill them instead.

It should be obvious, with the hordes of infidels
trying to move to mohammadan states, just how
much better life is with islam.

The time will come when the gloves are removed,
and the mohammadans in the West will be called
to account for their "brothers". May that day
come soon.

Granny:

Thanks. I've been particularly busy of late and will continue to be, so I'm not surprised I've missed an item already covered.

Sonic boom causing miscarriages, the left should not have a problem with this. It is abortion isn't it?

Albion

I have been writing about the Barnabus Fund for over three years. I'm really glad to see that individuals are taking action.

Indonesia like Pakistan, has had a lot of largesse from our governments as well as charity from individuals. Yet our charity is used as another tool to persecute Christians.

If we cannot persuade our governments from giving away our money to muslim nations, the least we can do is to help the really persecuted

The bin-donesians are at it again. Body parts are flying this way and that in the archipelago...

This time the Christians attacked were Catholic. Anyone know what the Pope has to say?
