Holland imam: I meant to threaten Hirsi Ali. Public Prosecutor's Office: No, you didn't

Dutch dhimmitude galloping ahead. "Hague imam did no wrong, says OM," from Expatica, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

AMSTERDAM – The Public Prosecutor's Office (Openbaar Ministerie) is not taking legal action against Sheikh Fawaz, an imam at the 'As Soennah' mosque in The Hague, a spokesman said on Thursday.

MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali (VVD) had reported Fawaz to the police, complaining that she had been threatened when he wrote on an internet site that Hirsi Ali would be "blown away by the wind of the changing times'' and that "the curse of Allah" awaited her.

The public prosecutor in The Hague did not find anything criminally liable in these statements. Reacting on Wednesday, Hirsi Ali said that she totally disagreed the prosecutor’s decision.

Meanwhile the independent MP Geert Wilders has tabled questions to Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner about the affair, partly because Fawaz had added in an interview in the daily newspaper 'Algemeen Dagblad ' that he did indeed mean his letter as a threat.

If the goal is to motivate people into vigilante justice in order to have some avenue of legitimate self-defense, the Dutch police are on to something. Perhaps they moonlight as hitmen? Some New Orleans PD have been caught doing it.

This exposes one of the unwelcome cankers which inimical Islam brings upon the West... Islam shines its black light on our notions of free expression and liberal public discourse. This is havoc Muslims cause when they the abuse the right of free speech in our lands to promote their sedition, exhortations to murder, and their generalized antipathy towards our values and our laws. How insidious! Our own precious rights are being used to assault our system which guarantees those rights --Free speech used to subvert our laws, exhort our deaths, and raise money for the Jihad to continue... Our legal system is abused and tied up with endless Muslim lawsuits attempting to use our laws to prevent criticism of Islam and stifle our debate about their fascism. Our political system is flooed with donations from wealthy Muslims who are buying influence and affecting policies.

Our technology and our advanced inventions are also used against us by our Muslim enemies as weapons-- the airplane, the train, the auto, the cell phone, the computer, the internet, CDs, DVDs and training tapes, banking, lines of credit... All of these things enable the Muslim to effectively wage Jihad against us, often right in our midst...

Although I haven't seen the full context in which these two 'threats' were made, I don't think either of them are direct threats against her safety. They are hateful words, yes. But they are not direct threats, nor incitement to hatred or violence.

jsla is right when he says muslims are using our freedoms to undermine the civilizational advances we have made. But we can't have two different sets of law so it looks like we will have to learn to put up with this type of behavior from the religion of pieces.

Without an Islamic reformation, our only hope of saving our way of life will be to have the high courts take away Islam's religious status and declare it the seditious cult that it is. We could then legally close all mosques, kick ALL imans out of the country, and deport or jail muslims who refuse to renounce the beliefs of the now illegal cult. I prefer a reformation, but a wise people would start working towards this latter solution.

So, its not against Dutch law to make terrorist threats? Guess we all gotta move with the times that are a-changing...back to the 7th century. The "curse of Allah" is already upon us all, none more so than Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Bulldoze the mosque and turn it into a pig farm.

The double standards of Islam, and the west's toleration of double standards.

A problem that the west promotes because it engages in and condones all kinds of double standards.

"Do as I say, not as I do" from family life to national life.

I propose a simple standard, which would put an end to Islamic chicannery. "That which one promotes, proposes, condones, permits or does to another, one also promotes, proposes, condones, permits or does to one self".

Islam does not permit free speech, free thought, equality of opportunity, it does not treat all people as equal before the law and in opportunity, therefore Muslims forfeit any rights and claims to rights themselves.

When Islam changes, the west changes, until then Muslims will have to live under the same restrictions that are imposed on women and non Muslims in their own lands and neighborhoods.

Very succinctly put, Behemond, a hint of humour though I do take your comment literally. But surely you meant the plurals of "mosque" and "farm"? One morning whilst visiting my wife's uncle's pig farm, I did chance upon some piglets feeding and was filled with delight as first one, then another, eventually all 20 or so piglets up-turned their cute little pig-faces to look at me, jaws dropped, eyes wide, squealing with astonishment! Another reason to support your proposal would be the increased production of porcine delights, such as bacon, pork sausages, bbq pork, Mexican-style pork, sweet and sour pork, etc. Orchardists would also benefit, from the increased demand for apple sauce. As Julia Child once remarked: "poor piggy, when he's so delicious".
What the world needs now is pork, with a sweet sauce.

Islam has abundantly abused women in islamic culture.

Now islam wants to continue that abuse in Europe and the local authorities give it support.

After all, unlike Nazism, it's one of the "Great" religions.

Hey William,

Islam is an annoyance, but, I do not think that we will be wearing helloween dress and looking for the mullah's contact lenses in the mosque anytime soon.

Democracy has so far been the most stable system of governance, if it is rooted deeply into the culture. The system can well handle whatever is thrown at it, in fact, testing it is good, it will make it stronger in the end.

The mullah in Hirsi's case, I agree, he needs to understand that literally translating arabic flowery threats into Dutch is not very effective, and the the judge is correct to let him go on that. Saying 'arglegargleblopf' is not illegal, no matter what you meant it to be inside your mixed up mind. However, I don't think we will need to wait very long before the man makes a proper mistake for which he can be nailed, it is just a matter of time.

Imli,

"Islam is an annoyance ..."
Tell that to to the native inhabitants of Malmo, Sweden.

And your last paragraph seems to imply that Ayaan Hirsi Ali has no reason to fear for her life.

Posted by: jay [TypeKey Profile Page] at November 29, 2005 4:43 AM

jay: Of course, Hirsi Ali has every reason to fear for her life, since quite some time, which is why she has a serious protection protocol.

But, if you were to ask me if I thought that that particular imam was threatening her with this particular statement, I have to be honest and say that unless someone can explain this to me, I have to agree with the judge.

Here is the original statement:

http://www.elqalem.nl/elqalem/aspx/home.aspx?group_id=1

(love the pics of the editorial crew on the lower right bar...lol)

Babelfish makes this of it:

Hirsi Ali, by contracting the confrontation with Islam, difficult and coming to an end gone has stocked. This can only end in in a painful defeat for her. Soon, if she is blown away by the wind of "changing times" outside the walls of the House of Commons and they themselves sees sinking in the pond of the forgetting, they just its real value will discover, when she will have go stooped under the curse of Allah, the angels and complete humanity.

This article says that it could be interpreted as a fatwa:
http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2005-11/18/content_3796934.htm

As I see it, the problem is that it is not a threat as such, like the classic 'I will kill you' etc, but, it is thickly veiled as a demented rant.
I say thickly because I think the threat does need explaining here -- I well believe it is, but if it is a nuance were discussing, I'd like to be aware.

Right now however, I can only conclude that even if those imams learn our languages, they still talk gibberish :P

WHY THE SILENCE ??????
Of Pakistani origin Samira Munir proclaimed herself to be a muslim. She was not, however, your average muslim woman, not by a long shot.

http://www.fomi.nu/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=17826#17826

Then, on November 14, 2005, the website of Human Rights Service brought the shocking news that Samira had died under circumtannces which still seem mysterious, to say the least. The story was that she had been run over by a train at a station on one of the suburban lines in Oslo. For someone who recently had claimed she was receiving almost daily death threats this seemed highly suspicious. It was made even more suspicious by the fact that the PC media in Norway for several days did not mention by a single word what had happened. Only a few Christian newspapers which do not belong to the islamophile dhimmitude which characterize Norwegian Christianity did mention the story. Earlier the same day as she was killed she had participated in a radio discussion where she defended the ban on hijab in universities in Turkey.

Ayaan Hirsi still has to struggle with detractors even in her own government. Recently Hans Wiegel, an elder statesman of the Liberals (VVD), has advised his outspoken party colleague, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, not to be so "fanatical".

Wiegel was responding in the newspaper 'Trouw' to her suggestion that he is a 'reactionary' who has no idea about the problems relating to the integration of immigrants into Dutch society.

She accused the former leader of the VVD of being Utopian who was living in the "Land van Ooit" (a fantasy world). Wiegel hit back by cautioning Hirsi Ali to "play the ball, not the person" and to respect people who hold contrary views. "In this way we can strengthen Dutch society and offer a future," he said.

Clearly Wiegel has decided the best way to confront the aggressivness of Islam is to; yep there is that word again (appease) them so as not to upset the apple cart.

"Islam shines its black light..."
-- posted by jsla

That's a beautiful image, in a forboding sort of way. The "light" of Islam pouring forth from Mohammed's dark heart, blotting out clarity and vision wherever it reaches. Benighted.

This black light image is as good as the one about how the Moslem Man carries about a "portable theocracy" inside his head.
