Muslim Nations Skip Meeting With Europe

More news about this meeting from the New York Times, with thanks to Ruth King:

BARCELONA, Spain, Nov. 27 - In a summit meeting marked as much by who was not there as who was, the European Union opened a two-day conference here on Sunday aimed at renewing its commitment to developing and democratizing Muslim nations on the Mediterranean's southern rim.

Many of the North African and Middle Eastern leaders who had agreed to come to the meeting announced last week that they could not attend. Their absence weakens European claims that their approach to the Muslim world - based on economic development, dialogue, strengthening the rule of law, and other forms of soft power - has greater credibility with the region's leaders than what they see as the Bush administration's more aggressive approach.

The conference was intended to bring together heads of state and government and other senior officials from all 25 members of the European Union, Israel and a dozen Muslim countries, including Egypt, Syria, Algeria, Jordan and Morocco.

Well, they are saying that the summit was "a great success". Kind of reminds me the fictitious tale of the general who made such a skillful retreat that he ended up claiming victory. I lost the last shred of respect that I had for the political class after this one.

My local dhimmi morning paper said that some of the Muslim leaders had announced that they didn't attend because they wouldn't bother to listen to the Europeans lecturing about democracy and human rights.

So who said Islam was not compatible with democracy and human rights? Some Islamophobe?

The shocking absence of the Arab faction indicates how comfortable they are sticking it to the European softies... Remember Chirac's famous phrase "To me, war always means losing." What an accurate description of the French method of fighting against her enemies. And the Muslims know this -- they see the weakness of the European position -- And they know full well that the Europeans can't and won't stomach a confrontation...

Unless something drastic changes the European trajectory, they are going to be flushed into the sewer by the Muslim onslaught.

Sadly, a mega attack in Europe is more likely to encourage a stepped up appeasement regime rather than serving to stiffen their spines.

I have not fully grasped how great our accomplishments were in post World War 2 in bolstering Europe as stop for Soviet expansionism. I had no idea that Europe clearly fell long ago -- that Nazism had destroyed her soul -- We are today simply witnessing the death spasms of a dying continent and culture -- it is harrowing to understand the dynamics, and watch the collapse... Has the deluge finally arrived? I fear it is so...

Europe has already given themselves to the islamists. There's no "it's going to happen soon" about it. It's already happened. Europe has given in to the islamists. Europe is now putty in the hands of the muslims, and they know this. This article proves that. Muslims have such a blatant disregard for European culture and politics that they shrug it off with a simple wave of the hand. It's time to say our goodbyes to Europe, and begin the funeral, unless something drastic, nothing short of a miracle or act of God, happens. And I'm of the opinion that a large scale attack will not do it. All that will do is seal Europes fate. They will have to educate themselves on what's really going on, and gain some testicular fortitude and stand up against it. All we can say now is, God help Europe.

After two days of discussion, they couldn't come up with a definition of terrorism that they all agreed on. Also the method they proposed of transferring wealth from the north to the south was to relieve poverty in North Africa by allowing continued migration into Europe. Nearly all the immigrants would be Muslims. All this only a few weeks after the riots in France.

The 'softy, softy' approach is ludicrous. The Mohammedans respect only force.

The totally corrupt, grimacing Chirac "to-me-war-always-means-losing-" has clearly shown what a loser he is by hiding behind his dress-man Dd Villepin (Lets call him Willie the pimp, it sounds so much better!) during the French Intifadah.

The North-Africans know very well that the money, the Jiziya, keeps coming from the EU, either way. The money in is paid to stop migration from their countries, where you have ever increasing numbers of north-and black African migrants at all times, ready to cross at all cost to the EU social welfare paradise.

For the duplicitous Muslims this is just business: The EU pays to keep the Asylum seekers there, and they take it on the double from the economic refugees, to help them getting them to the EU.

I wont say God help europe because they are beyond help. Well, really no, but it would take the likes of awful individuals like Le Pen to really do anything about it. A bloody, ugly confrontation is coming and the non-muslim euros are going to be hard-put to win.

If anything, God help the rest of us if we cant protect ourselves from what the muslims will gain with a takeover. From North Sea oil rigs to nuclear weapons, they will gain things they couldnt get on their own.

At least Switzerland might be able to hold out; even the islamothugs would have a tough time in those mountains and valleys.

Think again. Switzerland was the Headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood, his grandson Tariq Ramadan finds acceptance and sanctuary there.

Switzerland is no redoubt.

Nariz:

Doubtless Dead Infidel Walking hasn't seen the piece Robert just posted on J/W re: the Muslim Brotherhood Project, the brainchild of an Egyptian born "banker" who has resided in Switzerland for the last 50 years.

when l talk to the ordinary Europeans, they know of the dangers of islam...and are waiting for some leader and or party to unit them... the ruling elites like to blame everything on the US and Israel , used as scapegoats.. to direct blame away from themselves. but its getting used up...it will be a powder keg soon...

I had no idea of the Swiss situation, thankyou. Europe then is truly lost; all those mined tunnels and bridges for nothing, the Swiss will be taken from within.

I will therefore have to switch my award of "Last Nation Standing" to Norway; thousands of fjords would hopefully aid the dwindling survivors of the conflagration...er...peaceful conversion to islam.

I guess that even the muslims, warriors as they are, cannot contemplate the prospect of sitting down and listening to hours and hours of PC speeches.

Their not wanting to attend speaks volumes about the islamic contempt for weaklings and flatterers.

Muslims may be scoundrels, but they are not stupid. They know well that Europeans worship tolerance, multiculturalism, compromise, and jejune issues. Therefore, whether they attend or not, the European political correctness will go on, for it has a life of its own.

Muslim leaders know that no matter how outrageous and agressive their behaviour, their European useful idiots will bend over backwards to polish the image of Islam.

It is said that on the eve of the Turks invading Constantinople, the Byzantine leaders were busy discussing the sex of the angels, instead of preparing to fight back the onslaught.

Europe seems not to be able to learn from history. Thus, history is bound to repeat itself.

Rocky:

The only kind of speeches Muslim leaders care to hear from western politicians are either condemnations of Israel or promises of aid with no strings attached. For those kinds of speeches, they have all the time in the world.

Given the appalling attitude of Europeans these days (especially towards the United States) it might be wise for the United States to give Europe a miss too in upcoming meetings.

Let Western Europeans do something for themselves for a change--these folks sure never appreciated anyone assisting them in times of trouble. The post- WW2 and Cold War years amply demonstrated that. I see no evidence indicating that these people are or will be changing their tune anytime soon.

If Europe isn't up to saving itself from jihad, well----"survival of the fittest."
