A Let-Them-Into-the-EU Alert: "Muslims Beat Pastor After Attending Church," from Compass Direct, with thanks to Sccork:
The four Turks involved in the attack appeared to be in their late teens but were led by a foreigner probably 10 years older who claimed to be from Turkmenistan. At one point, the group’s leader said he was acting on behalf of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network. The five strangers showed up at the Adana Protestant Church’s rented facility near the city center 45 minutes before the Sunday service began at 2 p.m. About 40 people, the usual number, were attending the service.
Introducing himself to church members as a Christian from Turkmenistan, the group’s leader made a show of speaking Russian. He said that he had “converted” the four Turks with him to Christianity, but that he did not know how to teach them.
The others chimed in, saying, “We want to know more. Please teach us about Jesus.” They claimed to have come from Mersin and Gaziantep, cities 35 and 120 miles, respectively, from Adana.
Following the service, Kiroglu suggested the visitors ask him their questions as church members lingered at the facility drinking tea. But they said it was too crowded to talk freely, insisting they would wait to talk with him after everyone else had left.
Some minutes later, Kiroglu began to become suspicious, realizing that he was now alone with them in the building. All five stood whispering together near the door, blocking him from leaving.
Surprise Package
Explaining that he and the other church leaders all had previous appointments, Kiroglu glanced out the door and called to an expatriate friend waiting for him outside. When his friend appeared, the group reluctantly started to leave, talking among themselves about a “package” they had left inside.
“If you have left any package inside, go and get it,” Kiroglu told them, “because I am going to lock the door.”
Surprised, the leader tried to deny saying anything about a package. But then he said abruptly, “There is a package for you from Al-Qaeda. It is a surprise. You will soon know what it is.” Then the men quickly strode away.
“When I heard this, I shut the door,” Kiroglu said, “and I was really frightened.”
Shouting to his expatriate friend, who did not understand Turkish, to run, he took out his cell phone to call the police.
But when the men looked back and saw what Kiroglu was doing, they whirled and rushed back toward him. He said one of them shouted, “We don’t want Christians in this country!”
Ignoring the church leader’s confused foreign friend, the men chased and caught Kiroglu and began to strike him severely with their fists and feet. “I was trying to protect my face,” Kiroglu said, “but soon I was lying on the ground, covered in blood, and they were still kicking and beating me.”
After briefly losing consciousness, he managed to get to his feet and start running again, but again the attackers caught up with him.
“They were trying to force me to deny Jesus,” Kiroglu said. “But each time they asked me to deny Jesus and become a Muslim, I was saying, ‘Jesus is Lord.’ The more I said ‘Jesus is Lord,’ the more they beat me.”
Kiroglu saw in one man’s hands a long butcher knife, which he later learned had been grabbed from a nearby kebap restaurant. Shoving the knife against Kiroglu’s stomach, the attacker said, “I’m asking you again, deny Jesus, or I will kill you now.”
“Then I realized there was no way of saving myself,” Kiroglu said. “He was going to kill me.”
Suddenly, the Christian said, he felt two heavy blows, one on his head and the other on his spine, and everything went dark. When he regained consciousness, his attackers were gone and his friend was trying to wake him up.
Kiroglu then went directly to a nearby police station, where officers took him to the hospital for treatment. Although his assailants never stabbed him, doctors put six stitches into his bleeding mouth, and his head and other parts of his body remained swollen and painful for nearly a week after the beatings. His glasses were also shattered during the attack.

What strikes me is the fact that it never occurred to this man to practice deception toward Muslims in order to save himself. He would not deny Jesus; he refused to deny the spiritual light of living truth that sustained him. One can only hope and pray one might find a similar well of bravery in the face of such an ultimate test of faith.

Of course they didn't want Christians in "their" land. What else is new?? That's been the case for hundreds of years. In the early 1900s, they almost managed to purge the land of Christian Armenians, but dare to say so openly, and you end up on trial like Orhan Pamuk, who's looking at prison term when his trial resumes.
I hope the limphatic, overpayed and underworked mandarins in the EU Council learn about this latest sign of Turkish "tolerance," and do something about it, that is more than just chatting about it over martinis.

Turkey belongs in the EU like China belongs in NAFTA. Lets see how these "secular" Turks tackle apostasy cases. They won't go after "vigilantes". Even if they do, they might give them a 6-month sentence for a death resulting from such activities. Turkey should not only NOT be admitted into the EU, instead it needs to hand over at least part of Istanbul to its rightful owners. Turkey must pay restitution to Armenians and Greeks. It needs strict laws severely punishing those seeking to enforce "apostasy". It needs to fully protect gays and lesbians as is required under EU law. While they are at it, they need to leave Cyprus or at least withdraw troops. Then when they are really ready to prove how "European" they are, they can change their flag and ban Islamists like Erdogan from serving in any public office. Then maybe we can seriously talk about EU membership since then perhaps Turkey would have demonstrated European values.
France's Villepin: Turkey has no 'natural' right to join EU, January 20, 2006.

The other giant in Europe, Germany, does not support Turkey either, only Blair does.
Yesterday, the European parliament adopted a resolution stating that after Romania and Bulgaria join, EU expansion should be halted until rules can be enacted and a new EU constitution ratified. If expansion takes place thereafter, it must be put to referendum in each EU country. That's the same as saying; Turkey will join when pigs fly. G'luck Turkei.

Kafir Nonbeliever, This sounds like really good news.
I feel nothing but derision for people who buy holiday homes in places like Turkey and wax lyrical about the friendliness of the people, totally ignoring, or not bothering to make themselves cognisant of, the situation (not to mention history)of their Turkish co-religionists.
Turkish muslim supremacy and triumphalism continues unabated in Germany, however, seen even in their naming of mosques. Here is a rough translation of a post on http://www.myblog.de/kewil discussing this:
Every Fatih mosque is a Deliberate Provocation.
(The article lists close to 50 mosques in German towns and cities that are called "Fatih Mosque") and then continues:
Very few, however, ask themselves what the name actually signifies.
The name "Fatih Mosque" means "Conqueror Mosque" or "Mosque of the Conqueror" and refers to the Sultan Mehmet II the Conqueror who conquered Byzantium in 1452. It is only linguists and historians who understand the significance of the name, and that it is a deliberate provocation aimed at its Christian surroundings, which, if done in reverse, would provoke riots in islamic countries. And yet hardly anyone realises this.
" If one were to succeed, in the first place, in actually building a new church in an islamic country, and were it to be given the name "Church of the Conqueror" or "Herzog Gottfried IV" after the conqueror of Jerusalem in 1099, in memory of the crusades, there would be a huge scandal and the insolence of such an act would mean that every Christian in an islamic country would live in fear."
(Spuler-Stegemann, Muslime in Deutschland, Freiburg 1998, S. 154-155)
The well-known Syrian-born Bassam Tibi is also critical of this naming policy and expresses understanding for the reservations and emotions it can stir in the natives.
As a liberal Muslim, I consider it extremely regrettable that the Muslim Community in Pforzheim, by naming the local mosque "Mosque of the Conqueror", is,of all things, evoking a tradition of threats. It doesn't surprise me that those people who understand what the name of the mosque actually means are afraid. This is not Islamophobia, this is hard reality.
(Bassam Tibi, Kreuzzug und Djihad, München 1999, S.149)
Look carefully at the date on the sign in the photo above. It's on the mosque in Duisburg-Bruckhausen which was consecrated exactly 550 years after the fall of Constantinople. Only those who are totally naive could believe in coincidence. Not that this stopped politicians and other prominent Germans from attending the opening and extending friendly welcomes, instead of boycotting sush a mosque until the name was changed.
Or has [our] self-respect fallen so low, as in the case of the Bremer Weserkurier [newspaper}which, on the occasion of the naming of the local Fatih mosque, observed that it referred to 'that Sultan who liberated Constantinople (Istanbul) from the Christians.'(Stefan Luft - Mechanismen, Manipulation, Mißbrauch, Köln 2002, S. 147 f).
This also has close parallels to the "Aya Sofia Mosques", which serve to recall the Christian Cathedral in Constantinople which was converted to a mosque after the conquest (today it's a museum). Every mosque of that name tells the believing Muslims: look, we won, and tells the unbeliever: look, we will win. And this provocative name is very common in Germany.

Kafir, buddy,
Such a thourough summation. You've said it better than I could.
Still, you seem to trust the Euros to do the right thing more than I do. Erdogan is cocky beyond belief, which tells me he's got the backing of Eurocrats/Eurabians, besides the indigenous Islamist. He's essentially saying, "Don't insult Islam, or else." I suppose "or else" means a change in Turkey's political loyalties, from the West to the East.
I wouldn't discount that threat.
As far as Istanbul is concerned, your notion is such a fantasy. Byzantium does not exist anymore, pal. Byzantium has survived only in the Orthodox churches and cultures in Eastern Europe, especially in their monastic communities. It's a cultural survival with little political power. You know that a Father Calinic or Vartolomei or Evghenie, up in the forests of Moldova, does not care about political Orthodoxy. He cares only about his personal salvation. Politically, they are no match for the Islamists' belief in "umma."
Those mountains and monasteries are full of people who are trying to expiate their own sins or to seek refuge from the world. They go ascetic, subsisting on roots and berries and Eucharistic bread, only to make the front row on Judgment Day.

I believe that Europeans will wake up. As for my optimism, I believe that the American hope for the future is part of what sets this country apart. Perhaps it is somewhat foolish, but without it, we should simply capitulate and succumb to inshallah fatalism.
Islam must be exposed for what it is. The media must attack it savagely and force Islam to answer. One sign of this happening is what is happening in Holland. Another is this article explaining Islam's sexual rules in a UK paper.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/elsewhere/journalist/story/0,,1688285,00.html
Yes I have hope that the Euros will wake up to Islam shortly, if they are not already.

KafirNonbeliever-THAT IS GOOD NEWS!
Silvester-Thanks for info which lets us know what is going on and helps to educate all Kuffur...
So this SECULAR TURKEY is the one Bush & Blair are trying to ram down our Unbelieving throats.
It won't happen but NO THANKS to Messrs B&B or 'Bush and his Poodle.'
The bravery of the Pastor is an example to us all:for a moment we can understand the fear and terror of living as a minority in a Muslim country. Just imagine what is was like when the TURKS WERE CONQUERORS; your sons taken from you to be 'converted' into Islamic soldiers killing Christians and your daughters breeders in the Harem, yours backs straining under heavy taxes, forbidden to carry weapons to defend yourself-if you ever did rebel impalement or being slowly roasted to death the punishment. Towers of cemented Christian skulls still exist to show the world how marvellous it was to live under the 'Religion of Peace & Tolerance' in Europe.

"Deny Jesus "- Satan's favorite command!.
defenitly Prophet Mohamed is the Anti-christ.
The Holy Bible clearly states the behaviour of an Anti-Christ:
1.He will deny Jesus as son of God.
-Muslims deney Jesus is son of God.
2.He will deny Jesus died on the Cross.
-Muslims deny Jesus was crucified on the cross, and they hate the cross to such an extent, they will not allow any cross in Islamic lands.(Even Red cross ambulances have to change into Red Crescent symbols)
3.He will deny Jesus rose again from the dead on the third day.
-Muslims dont believe Jesus was rose again from the dead.
If Turkey is to join the European Union, that is the end of a Christian Europe. All fanatic Muslims will enter freely into Europe via Turkey. We should not forget the butchering of two million Amenian Christians by Turkey.

Rebecca, I appreciate your comments. What would I do faced with such a threat?
John 14:6 (NIV)
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
The pastor surely could have practiced deception, but I think that would be like not breathing if they told him, don't breathe anymore or we will kill you.
I pray for the Muslims to come to Christ or surely they will face an eternity in hell and they will make the world a more miserable place in the meantime.
Matthew 25:30 (NIV)
And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

Ah, but disciple, would it not be better to seek to bring Muslims to Christ through your positive example, rather than wishing hell fire upon them? I think that fear or the threat of fear should be left for Muslims to practice. Remember, love casts out fear, so it follows if we can remain in His love, we can remain fearless also.

Shinoliite, thank you for the link. I have dived into the site you recommened and found an uplifting story about a 15-year-old Christian boy, who was literally crucified by his Muslim owner. Finally liberated from his slavery he forgave his tormentor just like Jesus taught his followers to do. I am praying for the children of Sudan. For the Muslim ones as well so that they could "forgive" those who have done no harm to them.
"Damare Garang - Sudan
Damare was captured by Islamic soldiers when his Sudanese village was attacked. Only 7 at the time, he was sold as a slave to a Muslim family. He became a camel boy even though he knew nothing about caring for them. His master enforced his learning with beatings. One day a camel got away. The master threatened to kill Damare for this mistake, but something restrained him. The next day when he found out that Damare had sneaked away to attend a Christian church in the village he became determined to punish this boy.
The master found a large board, several rusty spikes and a hammer and dragged Damare out to the edge of his compound. He forced Damare’s legs over the board and drove the long nails through his knees and feet. Then he turned and walked away, leaving the boy laying in the field screaming from pain.
A man passing that way heard Damare’s screams and sneaked into the compound and carried this boy to the local hospital where the nails and board were removed. A year-and-a-half later, Damare and the man who saved him were in a village that came under attack, and they were separated. After the defense forces managed to drive away the Islamic soldiers, Damare was left standing along. When the commander heard him speak, he realized that he was from the Dinka Tribe and took him back to their camp. After hearing his tragic story he tried to locate some of Damare’s relatives. When none could be found, the commander adopted the former camel boy and took him to his home.
Today Damare is 15 and lives in Mario Kong. He cannot run fast like the other boys, but he says he has forgiven the man who nailed his legs to the board. He knows that Jesus was nailed to a cross so all our sins could be forgiven. He asked the Christian children in America to remember to pray for the children of Sudan."

Rebecca, this courageous man also displayed humbling humility ascribing his bravery to God Himself:
"“I am praising God not because he saved me from death,” Kiroglu said, “but because he helped me not to deny him in the shadow of death.” "(from the original article).
What an example! Makes you wonder..Would any Muslim be prepared to die for his Allah in such a way, if it was not for the 72 "raisins"...
It also makes you wonder ... where would you stand ... after all even Peter did not pass the test.

BALKAN EU NIGHTMARES
Everyone is hysterical about Turkish EU membership, and justifiably so. However, as I pointed out on earlier posts, it is far more likely that countries such Albania, Bosnia and the Republic of Kosova/Greater Albania will demand entrance sooner. The EU will encircle Balkan countries. Just HOW will the EU be able to keep them out? For those who don't know, the following figures might be illuminating:
EU SOON TO BE.......MOSLEM % OF POPULATION
Romania.............00.05%
Bulgaria............12.00%
BALKAN CANDIDATES...MOSLEM % OF POPULATION
Serbia/Montenegro...05.00%
Bosnia..............40.00%
Macedonia...........30.00%
Albania.............70.00%
"Kosova" (Albania?).90.00%
Turkey..............99.00%

Rebecca, you wrote
Ah, but disciple, would it not be better to seek to bring Muslims to Christ through your positive example, rather than wishing hell fire upon them?
If you are refering to the scripture verse I placed in my last post, than I guess I am guilty of doing what they ("Muslims") do, using my Holy Book as a guide. Of course as mentioned so many times by Hugh and Robert, the bible never directs me as an individual to bring God's wrath down on anyone. Unlike the Quran. The bible presents God's Law, than it displays God's Love in the incarnate "word of God", the gospel, or good news. As I am sure you know. The Law points out our sin and the Crucifixion redeems us from that sin. I was merely giving a minute indicator of what "hell" might be like. I wish "HELLFIRE" upon noone, I would be amazed and excited if UBL came out of hiding and said he has rejected Islam and now embraces Christianity. I would even forgive him. All have the chance and time to come to Christ. God is just to those who reject and to those who never heard at all.
Personally I have a good Muslim friend that will be coming to my upcoming "Christian" wedding and I used to have a Muslim room mate. I thouroughly enjoy our discussions on God. However, he never acts violently towards me or thinks that Muslims should be violent either. I guess that makes him a moderate. Actually no, he is an Ahmadiya, already persecuted and driven out of Pakistan by "real" Muslims.
As a mere human being it is dificult at times to not show my frustration at what Islam is doing. Even though I am a Christian.
Thanks though for the input, I take it to heart and will review my actions.

Polish Infideless, don't forget that though Peter vacillated once (or thrice), when the time came he died valiantly on the cross in Rome, and his wife, who had stood beside him, was thrown to the lions there as well. Let us also never forget that those noble and brave Apostles, whom all Christians revere, were also simple Jewish men of faith, as was the Master himself.

Makes you wonder..Would any Muslim be prepared to die for his Allah in such a way, if it was not for the 72 "raisins"...
Christian martyrs from the beginning -- when being persecuted by the Romans, then some 600 years later when persecuted by Muslims (as in Islamic Spain) -- have become martyrs by willingly letting themselves be murdered instead of denying their faith in Jesus Christ. They never took others down while being martyred; Christian martyrdom was never a military concept, as it always has been in Islam. Furthermore, Christian theologians argued and eventually clarified that there are strict rules for the honor of becoming a martyr: a Christian martyr would be dishonoring the faith by going out of his way to seek to be killed -- the act of martyrdom must be forced upon the Christian, and giving up one's life must be the only way out short of denying one's faith. I.e., only when the Christian is driven to the wall and the choice to deny his faith or be killed if forced upon him, is it appropriate to seek death and thereby be accorded the glorification of martyrdom.
In Islamic Spain, hundreds if not thousands of Christians who refused to recant their public statements that Mohammed is not a prophet of God were beheaded by the Muslims. I have read that the skulls of the decapitated heads of those Christians were then shipped to North Africa to be used in the masonry of building the walls of mosques, though I have not found confirmation of this yet.

couple of errors in my last post:
"I.e., only when the Christian is driven to the wall and the choice to deny his faith or be killed IS forced upon him, is it appropriate to seek death and thereby be accorded the glorification of martyrdom."
Also, my 600 years figure (calculating after the 3rd century A.D.) obscures the fact, of course, that there were Christian martyrs under Islam earlier, from the beginning of Islam's military expansion (7th century).

Dr. Pepper, what I meant by Christian martyrdom was sacrificing one's life as an act of love for your God who died on the cross for us, to redeem us. Shaheeds do it out of hate for the Infidels. Allah seems to be a bloodthirsty, savage god, not much different from pagan divinities, demanding offerings from life to satisfy his sadistic aspect.
I would be very much interested in the fate of Jews and Christians in Andaluzia, the myth of which is notoriously used by dhimmis defending Islam. Do you know any links related to this subject, any books worth reading? Thank you!

They are ofcourse a visual record of the results of Jihadis in action i.e., when cameras were available to record such massacres. The real brutality by islam took place when it was a militarily strong force. To get an idea what transpired as islamic armies rampaged across the ME, Asia and Eastern Europe circa 800 to 1600 AD, imagine such pictures but multiply the numbers by hundred thousand fold or more.
We cannot imagine the level of fear and panic that must have occurred through whole societies when muslim armies arrived. Thankfully those days have long gone. As Churchill put it
"Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”
Muslims must open their eyes and see the horror that was perpetrated on their ancestors that forced them to convert to islam. I have faith, that in the end, most muslims will see that islam is the greatest fraud perpetrated in the history of the world. If this fraud was just about money, it would'nt matter so much, but it is not just money, though the world economy is taking a hit - it is costing the lives of hundreds of people every day.

Polish infideless,
Here's a book on-line you can read about Christian martyrs in Islamic Spain:
http://libro.uca.edu/martyrs/martyrs.htm
In the introduction, author Kenneth Baxter Wolf writes:
"The city of Córdoba was the setting for an unusual historical drama that unfolded between the years 850 and 859, when forty-eight Christians were decapitated for religious offenses against Islam. More striking than the number of executions were the peculiar circumstances surrounding them. For one thing, as the sources unambiguously demonstrate, the majority of the victims deliberately invoked capital punishment by publicly blaspheming Muhammad and disparaging Islam. Moreover, though some Cordoban Christians applauded the executed Christians as martyrs, others regarded them as self-immolators whose unwarranted outbursts served only to expose the community as a whole to the emirs suspicions." [i.e., some Christians didn't want to rock the boat in their dangerous circumstances of dhimmitude]

This pastor's faith and love for Jesus is monumental. The fact that he stood for the Gospel of the good news is proof of the goodness of God.
Jesus warned that the saints would be persecuted for their faith. But explained that it wasn't us that sinners hated, it was Him. God never promised us sunshine all the time. He did promise rainy days. But He also promised to never leave us. Just as He was in the firery furnace with Shadrac, Meshach, and Abednego. He was with Pastor Kiroglu. It hurts me as a Christian that he had to go through what he went through, but it's all to the glory of God. In the book of the Acts of the Apostles, Peter and John were flogged because they refused to not preach Jesus. And counted it an honor and a blessing to suffer for His name. This Pastor is in good company here.
These Islamics that claimed they were from al Quida were fulfilling God's will. Pastor Kiroglu's witness will be even bolder than ever. Faith strengthened. Evidence of the love that Jesus has even for the Islamofeces that refuse to accept Him as savior.
Besides, they know that Jesus trumps the prophet Muhammad. His body is still lying in a tomb. While Jesus is on the right hand of the Father, RISEN!!! Tomb, EMPTY!!! May the Peace of God be with Pastor Kiroglu and his congregation. And the love of Jesus strengthen them.
