Norway: Muslim group reports caricature publisher reported to police

Now here's a case of chutzpah and canny use of Western laws against the West. "Caricature publisher reported to police," from Aftenposten, with thanks to Fjordman:

The Muslim Al-Jinnah Foundation will charge the editor of the Christian weekly Magazinet, the journal that published the controversial caricatures of the prophet Mohammed in Norway, with endangering Norwegian lives.

The organization delivered charges to Moss police station at noon on Thursday.

"The police must take Vebjørn Selbekk and put him in a safe place," Al-Jinnah leader Khalid Mohammad told Aftenposten.no. Mohammad emphasized that this remark was not meant as a threat to Selbekk, but rather to the threat Selbekk posed to others.

Mohammad said that Selbekk had endangered Norwegian lives and interests around the world by the provocative decision to publish the caricatures.

"It is frightening that one person through so-called freedom of speech can cause such damage that he nearly sets two worlds up against each other. There are limits for what expressions are acceptable, also in a democracy. This is a case for the police, it cannot be solved by the masses," Mohammad said.

Notice the common theme running through all this from the islamic leaders? That it's NEVER the fault of islam nor it's followers.

Muslims definitely have my vote for worst immigrants possible. Most arrogant. Most in your face. Most subversive. They just might stab your nation in the back like those Danish Imams. These punks have lived there 10-20 years at most and they demand and demand and demand from Danes who have lived there centuries.

AMAZING

I would like to see this challenged by having the paper file it's own charges against the two LYING Danish !mamsthat perpetrated a libelous fraud against this publisher, the country of Denmark as well as all western humanity - instigating this entire affair. It is abundandtly clear that had these two clowns not gone ahead with their fraudulent claims, as proven by Egyptian print version receiving nary a sigh in response.

Khalid Mohammad said that the Al-Jinnah Foundation is an international network that seeks out Muslim communities when there is danger of unrest.
That's all of them, always. We call it a protection racket. Posted by: Beagle [TypeKey Profile Page] at February 9, 2006 10:53 AM

These Muslims are true perverts in every sense of the word.

And while they're at it, they can also file charges against all rape victims committing the provocative act of not wearing a burka at the time of the rape, all teachers beaten up for teaching the history of the Holocaust, and all shopkeepers instigating riots by displaying porcelain pig novelties.

Muslim Logic:

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Yes, you must consider the effect you will have if you exercise your constitutional rights in this country, or your rights guaranteed by law in other advanced countries.

Surely, Charlene Hunter-Gault should have been imprisoned for causing that ruckus in Little Rock; it was entirely foreseeable. Cheney, Goodman, Schwerner -- they knew they were stirrring up trouble and that it would lead to bloodshed (as it turned out, their own). Entirely foreseeable. Sophie Scholl and her brother in the White Rose -- what in god's name were they doing? Didn't they know what effect that would have on hardened Nazis?

Some people are just so unthinking, so inconsiderate. That Norwegian Stelbekk -- has he no consideration for others? None?

A New Guide for the Exercise of Rights:

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT exercise those rights if such exercise may cause any consternation or offense which might, just possibly, cause those so offended from rioting, attacking consulates, and attempting to murder or threatening to murder Infidels, hither and yon.

It would be wrong to endanger anyone. So learn your lesson.

The key here is -- Law Students, take special note -- is Foreseeability.
'
Was the Muslim reaction foreseeable? Was all that hysteria and hate on the part of Muslim mobs, in Syria and Lebanon and Iran and Afghanistan and Sudan and Niger and in so many other places, "foreseeable"? Yes. Apparently yes. Apparently that is how Muslims will behave. And that must be factored in to all calculations.

That's true. Muslim behavior, likely Muslim reactions to the exercise of the basic rights recognized by the Western world, and indeed by all the countries that are signatories to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, is foreseeable.

So there we have it. "Foreseeaable" reactions will determine, or should determine, the exercise of rights. Those which being exercised will "foreseeably" lead to trouble, or violence, should not be exercised.

We are here, students of American law will recall, back with that famous Contracts case of Hadley v. Baxendale (remember your first term? remember how afraid you were of being called on?). It turned, you will recall, on whether or not the person who was to have supplied the grist mill with a replacement for a key broken part could have foreseen that the grist mill, being out of commission for so long, would not be able to grind at all, much less as slowly as the wheels of justice do -- and that this loss from a failure to fulfill a contract (once more into the breach) should be categorized as either "foreseeable" or "unforeseeable" and upon that would hinge the size of the recovery for damages.

Islam and Hadley v. Baxendale.

Who woudda thunk it?

"It is frightening that one person through so-called freedom of speech can cause such damage that he nearly sets two worlds up against each other."--Mohammad

The cartoonist made them do it. Muslims riot and kill, and it is the cartoonist's fault. Muslims threaten to exterminate all Eurpoeans, and it is the cartoonist's fault.

These full-time liars and masters of misinformation are relentless and know no shame, as this example illustrates.

Aside from libel and slander laws, which have their place, special laws designed to protect people from being offended chiefly end up doing nothing other than placing a powerful tool in the hands of those who are most offended. People who are easy-going, open, and tolerant are generally less offended, but at the same time they are less protected and have less rights as a consequence of being tolerant. We all know which group is most offended. Muslims who believe their Korans are offended by the fact that we exist. Make as long a list as you like: if non-Muslims do it, say it, or think it, Koran-following Muslims are offended by it because it is being done by non-Muslims.

No more stupid than a thief who hurts himself when falling through a roof of a business then sues the owner of the business he was trying to rob. I remember reading about this happening in San Francisco, CA many years ago......so don't pin me on an exact date.....but it did occur.

Why oh why is the West so subservient? When Muslims commit the most heinous crimes such as Beslan, Bali, 9/11, 7/7, Madrid bombings the list goes on. There is nothing, not a word from the Muslims who live amongst us, no parades, no protests, nothing.
Print a silly cartoon about the pedophile, terrorist, rapist Mohamed and all hell breaks lose and our leaders run around like chicken with their heads cut off to apeace these murderous morons. They Kill, maim, insult the westerners daily and they want respect. Puke on the bastards, stop patronizing these scum and tell them where to get off.We have bent over backwards to to politically correct. Send them packing back to the hell holes they came from. Muslims are the most vicious, hateful immigrants living amongst us.

The "...remark was not meant as a threat to Selbekk, but rather to the threat Selbekk posed to others."
RIGHT. And Islam is a peaceful, tolerant religion..........

The editor only has to respond he got them from the Egpytian press then the Muslim will be furious as he is implicating a fellow Muslim. The comics were printed in Egypt over 4 monthys ago without a sinle complaint and since no Muslim in Norway had seen them the editor was aiding the Muslims to get in touch with the news from Egypt. Thus any complaints about the comics are anti-Muslim hysteria, even if done by a muslim.

A very good point. Equally, the deaths of World War II were not the fault of Hitler and the people doing the killing, but rather the people who criticised them.

Moral somersaults...dontcha just love them.
