Islamic Tolerance Alert from Tajikistan, from the BBC, with thanks to LGN:
The authorities in the central Asian republic of Tajikistan have started to demolish the country's last synagogue. It is being destroyed to make way for the construction of a new presidential complex in the capital, Dushanbe.
Members of Tajikistan's ancient Jewish community say they have not been given adequate compensation to enable them to build a new synagogue.
Jews have lived in Tajikistan for many centuries, but the community declined after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Bulldozers have already destroyed part of the compound. The demolition of the synagogue building itself is expected to go ahead later in the year.
Dushanbe's small Jewish community, mostly poor and elderly, have almost resigned themselves to losing their only place of worship.
But they say the distant plot of land the government has given them in exchange is inadequate compensation.
They cannot afford to build a new synagogue, and they say the new land, on the edge of the city, is too far away.
Afraid to speak out
The current synagogue sits on a prime site in the middle of the capital, where the government is building a large new office complex for the president.
The rabbi says the community still hopes the government, or international Jewish groups, will help them to acquire an appropriate building for a new synagogue.
But people familiar with the Jewish community in Dushanbe say those opposed to the demolition had been threatened by officials and most of the congregation are afraid to speak out.

Sad. And sad to realize...that David Souter would be pleased. Supreme Court decisions are SO far reaching...even to Tajikistan.

The last synagogue in Tadjikistan. Like the story of the last remaining Jew in Afghanistan. Or any of a number of countries in the Muslim world, emptied out first of Jews, and now of Christians, and in some places, of Hindus and Buddhists. In 1914 Constantinople was 50% non-Muslim; now it is 1%. In 1947, Pakistan (olim West Pakistan) was 15% Hindu, now it is 1.5% Hindu. In Bangladesh, it was 35% non-Muslim (Hindus, Buddhists, Christians). Now that figure is 8%. How many Christian Arabs are left in Gaza? How many Christians (or Jews) still live in Iran, as compared to the number prior to the resistible rise of the Ayatollah Khomeini? How many places in the East Indian archipelago have managed to stave off the steady spread, over centuries since the Hadrami traders first arrived in Java, of Islam?

Sad, indeed, and isn't that the truth about Souter. Happily at last count nearly all the states have passed or are passing statutes tightly reigning in Souter's folly.

Sad, and especially cruel when the poor and elderly will be the primary victims.
Another article, with a picture here.
This article also mentions an organization, the ISLC, that has taken up the cause of the Dushanbe Synagogue. More info at their site:

Eminent domain. A recent SCOTUS ruling made it easier for cities to take people's homes and businesses for purposes deemed-- by someone-- conducive to the greater good of the city.
Eminent domain... imminent domain... much less of a difference.

"Take people's homes and businesses." I should clarify: Take control of land, usually demolishing whatever's on it, and paying the owner at "fair market value."
No mention of even "fair market value" in the Tajikistan story, now that I think of it.

The SCOTUS defined "public" so broadly if one were to try and write a consititutional amendment to overturn the Kelo decision it would entail rewriting the Fifth Amendment exactly as it is.
There would be one addition at the bottom:
"This time we mean it."

This is a country that is Sunni, but ethnically Farsi, and whose population listens to Radio Teheran for inspiration.

The Religion of (Tear Everything to) Pieces strikes again.
After stealing their religion from the Jews, now they steal their last house of worship.
Clearly, the Muslims have such a guilty spiritual conscience over this primal theft that they can't help over-compensating with violence to try to bluff their way out of it.
Erasing every reminder of their crime, down to the last synagogue.
And trying the same with the Jews themselves.
Attempting to get rid of the witnesses, in essence.
Blaming the victim, apotheosized.

A GREEK TRAGEDY
THE NIGHT OF TERROR IN CONSTANTINOPLE
In the beginning of the 20th century there were 300,000 Greeks residing in Constantinople. They had managed to survive there despite centuries of oppression and persecution under the Ottoman yoke.
But the Turks were determined to expel all Greeks from their ancient home using all available means.
Thus, the Turks systematically

Telegraph spikes article that speaks of Muslim intentions to establish Islam in Britain
'The day is coming when British Muslims form a state within a state' By Alasdair Palmer was on the DT site

It has been removed for "legal reasons".
It is though still on google cache
Freedom of Expression is slowly and inexorably being strangled, as I've known would happen for 2 decades, once we allowed muslims into the West.

Conscience and honesty - To 'forgive and forget' is not always possible or desirable
The decision by the Rev Julie Nicholson to leave her position at St Aidan’s Church in Bristol because she cannot forgive the bombers who killed her daughter Jennifer on 7/7 is a remarkable window into the tortured soul-searching of grief. Whatever text provides our values and whatever code guides our life, most of us would hope that our capacity to forgive is not so tested. To extend forgiveness to the misguided, the mistaken or the ignorant is significantly easier if they offer repentance. Suicide bombers do not linger to explain their actions — they have gone to collect their reward. From her pulpit, Mrs Nicholson could have stretched out a hand, but she would not have been true to herself at this time. Some in her flock may prefer her to swallow her doubts and live up to her calling. Others may regard her decision as a missed opportunity, and that, during a time of increased interfaith and cultural suspicion, she could have performed an invaluable service to the country by absolving the murderous fanatics.

Why is that we are required to forgive. Whys re we required to turn the other cheek. Some people think that in so doing we will cause a radical change in the hearst of muslims. Far from it.
Muslims believe that the koran gives them carte-blance to murder non-muslims - it is allah's divine injunction that they do so. In muslim eyes, we i.e., non-muslims are also required to obey allah's injunction by accepting the victims role that allah has assigned to kuffars. Thus by forgiving or turning the other cheek, we accept the teaching of the koran and accept that muslims are entitled to kill us.

Of course, had it been a mosque then the sheeted, mouthfrothing hordes would have been out all over every part of the cockroach infested world screaming hatred, abuse and making the usual threats. This is so expected that we hardly even notice it now. The rabid muslim mob has been around since 700 AD and really likes to find isolated nonmuslims upon whom it can express itself physically.
Naturally it has nothing to do with Islam and islamic anti-everything-non-islamicism.
I cannot see just why it is perfectly okay for Imams all over the world to scream hatred and death to nonMuslims and for many of their followers to actually practise this while we here have to be so PC as not to suggest possible causes of and solutions to the infestation.
Political systems maquerading as religions like this are the curse of the universe and using the name of a God to justify any bloodshed should immediately exclude a "religion" from hiding behind its piety facade and being exposed for the noxious elistist criminality that it truly is. The only reason Hitler did not become a prophet was because the lost. Had he won he would have given his mentor Muhammad a run for his money.
When are people going to remove islam's religious aegis? I ask this as it is quite apparent that any coordinated "cleansing" of the Koran with the object of bringing it into the 21st century with acceptable general humanitariansism seems to be impossible. If Islam does not mellow, then what is the alternative?
We judge most people not by their words but by their actions, so why should it be so different here? Why are we so afraid to speak the obvious?
Even if Allah did exist, he is such an insecure and wretchedly barbaric being that we can do without him.
This seems to be a question which is forbidden in many places and it probably will result in this post's deletion.
If Islam will not let everyone else live in peace, then what is the alternative? Do we wait and see when the oil runs out or will it be too late?
I wish only peace to all mankind but how can it ever be possible to have it and to coexist with Islam, without dhimmitude, forced conversion or death?

Zathras, you are right, I think. The only way we can put a stop to this in the PC world we live in is to come at it from a secular viewpoint. As soon as we bring our religion into the argument, the PC people say our religion is no better. We need to help people see that this Islamic threat is a threat to everyone, religiuos or not.
The only other way to deal with this threat is to try to convert Musims to Christ. Jesus Christ is the prince of peace, but we cannot sit back and wait for the church to wake up while the enemy is building a strong hold and soon we will not be free to say anything or do anything againt them. We need to be defensive, for the sake of all, and we need to be offensive for the salvation of Muslims.

I was speaking to a Somali man in Seattle one day. I said that there is one thing I don't undertand. Under Isalmic law the Jews and the Christians are the only other religions that will be allowed. Everyone else must submit to Islam or die. I asked this Samil man, what's up with that? He replied, "They don't deserve to live!" It is this same mentality that leads Muslims to kill so many innocent people every day.

I think we should demolish every mosque in the west and all muslims should be deported...
