Nigeria: Anglican bishop survives fourth attack

More jihadist persecution of Christians in Nigeria. "Anglican Bishop Survives Fourth Attack," from Compass Direct, with thanks to all who sent this in:

The latest attack on the Rt. Rev. Ali Buba Lamido, 47, Anglican bishop of Wusasa diocese in Kaduna state, began as the past year’s previous three did: Armed men whom he believes were Muslim militants asked a guard at his home where he was, announcing they were going to kill him.

Not concerned about stealth in heavily Islamic Kaduna state, the attackers fired into the air, then struck the bishop’s workers in the courtyard. This time, last March 10, one of his guard’s guests, Samaila Gandu, was shot dead. Guard James Daso and another worker, Bulus Moses, were seriously injured.

This scenario matches other instances in which Muslim militants have assaulted Christian clergy, Lamido said.

“It is difficult to believe that it was not religiously motivated, because some bishops have been attacked and one priest was murdered in a similar way,” he said. “And the killers never stole any thing from their houses.”

These would be killers tend to forget that the more Christians are made martyrs, the more seeds are planted for new Christian believers. As the saying goes, " The blood of ( Christian martyrs ), is the seed for new Christians ".

End of quote.

I doubt that there will be a widespread call for prayer for specifically for the safety of Bishop Lamido or any other persecuted Christian tomorrow morning. So we will have to do so, and more as necessary, on our own initiative.

Granny

Thank you for reminding us all. Say a prayer for the Bishop, and not just this bishop but the many Christians in muslim nations that are persecuted daily. In Afghanistan there a couple of ex-muslims who are being held on the absurd charge of Apostasy.

While the Anglican communion in the US and Europe abandon even the appearance of historic Christianity, the Anglicans of Africa and Asia stand firm with their Catholic, Orthodox, and other Christian brothers in defense of the Truth.

Countless of these Christians have been martyred by Muslims and by Communists. Rest assured, that the souls of these martyred righteous now cry out from beneath the throne of God, "How long O Lord?" This too, should be our prayer.

What comes to my mind like a lightning is the words from "Heart of Darkness" by the Polish writer Joseph Conrad Korzeniowski: "The horror! The Horror!"

The media show not a jot of interest in the persecution of Christians.
Suggest we get in touch with Rev Clifford, whose courageous stance against Islam including a charge by Race Relations in Britain-a charge hastily dropped when it was seen many people all around the world supported him-he has now become something of a celebrity.
Also bombard the papers and media in the hope someone will listen...
The Anglican church and No 1 Dhimmi Rowan Williams?? Just a moment, there is the outspoken
John Semetu Archbishop of York. Our best bet I think.

The sad thing is, this is a part of what I see as a global persecution of the worldwide Christian church. The Christian church is being persescuted for standing up to the Gospel.

Question: Can we say that a religion is what its followers do?
Then should we say that Islam is intolerant and violent, as this what its followers are doing?

Who is trying to kill Islam’s religions leaders, in non Muslim areas?
So why then trouble the Anglican bishop in Nigeria?

Are these attacks - too - because of the Palestinian problem?
Are there Jews controlling the Nigerian bishop?

Islam shows itself to be violent, again and again – should we believe that it is not violent?

I rarely recommend fictional movies but in 2003, going against the general political correctness of Hollywood, a movie was released called 'Tears of the Sun' starring Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci. Although fictional, it may be prophetic.

The movies plot involves a coup by a Fulani Muslim general who deposes the elected Christian president of Nigeria, imposes shari'a, and begins the ethnic cleansing of the Christian Ibo. Willis is a US Navy SEAL ordered to go into a hostile area of Nigeria and rescue an American doctor.

The doctor (Bellucci) is living at a Catholic Mission, taking care of sick and dying Nigerians. Getting the doctor out is only a minor hassle, the real trouble begins when Willis' characters internal struggles of following orders vs. doing what is right get the best of him and he decides to try and save all the Christian patients. From there all hell breaks loose. One moving scene shows the Muslims massacring Christians and martyring the priests and nuns.

This is not your normal action movie. It doesn't go gonzo on the special effects and explosions, but obviously this is a war movie and there is plenty of violence near the end. The thing is, by the time people do start dying, you will care. Anyone who understands the nature of the bloody attacks on Christians in Nigeria will understand this movie. I highly recommend renting the DVD of this film.

Why is it that all over the world, moslems glory in bloodshed? Why do they consider force as the only way to express themselves? Are they having defeatism mentality?
Are they feeling threatened that their religion does not have what it takes to hold itself in the face of the christian challenge and therefore have to use force especially in areas where they are in majority? For eg, they cant try this in eastern part of nigeria where they are in minority.
If you read the story very well from: http://www.compassdirect.org/en/newslongen.php?idelement=4329
you will discover that what i commented b4 is actually true-jihad is part and parcel of the life of a moslem. How he carries it out depends on the kind of enviroment he finds himself and the kind of opportunity he gets.
Because God has a program for this world and we do our part as we are doing here in this website and others, they will not prosper.

Let christians everywhere rise up to pray for the work that is gong on in the world, especially in the developing countries. God is working wonders and many moslems are repenting and seeking help.
Those that carry guns and matchets cannot stop it. like bigcatgirl quoted " The blood of ( Christian martyrs ), is the seed for new Christians ".
We have evidence to show!
let's also be praying for the persecuted saints
Thanks and God bless.
