Isn't the New Era of Peace that was ushered in by the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza just wonderful? You may recall that some American Jews raised millions of dollars to buy the greenhouses and give them to the Palestinians, so that the poor things wouldn't suffer any economic difficulties. Moral blindness, dhimmitude, naivete, and more -- as I said at the time.

Several greenhouses belonging to the former settlement of Morag in the Gaza Strip were destroyed over the weekend during an attempt by dozens of gunmen to take control of the area.The Palestinian Company for Economic Development, which is in charge of thousands of greenhouses that used to belong to Morag and other settlements in Gush Katif, said the attack, which took place on Friday, was the latest in a series that began almost immediately after the settlements were evacuated.
The company revealed that hundreds of greenhouses and other agricultural installations have been sabotaged over the past few months, expressing its outrage over the recurring phenomenon. The company issued an urgent appeal to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and Interior Minister Said Siam to intervene to halt the attacks on the lands belonging to the former settlements.
"These greenhouses and other installations and projects provide a source of income for over 4,500 families," company officials said. "We are very disturbed by the recurring attacks and thefts. Such actions jeopardize the largest agricultural project carried by the Palestinian Authority after the Israeli withdrawal."

Another criminal display of ignorance from the mid easts biggest group of pugilistic roaches. This is a perfect example of why Israel shouldn't give up even another inch of land.

I read a story about the first wave of looting and destruction of the greenhouses.
They were marvels of Israeli efficiency with computerized controls and produced out of season vegetables and fruits for the European market.
One Arab who had worked closely with the Israelis was hearbroken. He had been trained along with several thousand other Gazans to work at the greenhouses. And as a a man sometimes will, he fell in love with the greenhouses and his work. Pride in WORK. Imagine.
This reminded me of a charming young West Bank Arab man, obviously smart and full of youthful enthusiasm who back in the days before 'Intifada Two' pioneered a joint Israeli-Palestinian business. On TV he radiated optimism and hope - he dreamed of a 'Palestinian economic miracle'.... I wonder where he is now.

He's most likely one of the many hundreds found down Gazan back-alleys after having been murdered execution style. He should've known that working collaboratively with Jews on any kind of project by default made him a 'collaborator' and thus subject to summary execution by Hamas loyalists.
In islam, the good don't die young. No, they're kidnapped, tortured, murdered, and then ignominously tossed out a speeding car down a back-alley in the dead of night amidst shouts of allahu akbar.

I hope they were environmentally conscious enough to re-use the scrap metal from the destroyed hothouses in the only industry that thrives in "Palestine", manufacturing weapons that will be used to kill unarmed civilians.
It is just pure nihlism, there is only darkness and depravity in all that they touch.

Besides the wanton destruction of the greenhouses.
It's obvious that the very well fed "starving" Palestinians, don't want to give up their crown as the worlds' welfare queens - so growing their own it off limits.
As for the rest of the world paying them dhimmi taxes, obviously the naive western leaders didn't see this ruse - that the Palestinians are always told what to say and do when cameras are around!
Let's face it, all of us saw on the news some very rotund Palestinians, saying they were starving. Yet they still have their mobile phones and can afford to pay the bills.
It's time aid agencies and governments stopped feeding the greedy Palis and started concentrating on the people in Dafur, and other parts of Africa and Asia, who are genuinely starving to death.
Maybe the crux of the matter is that western leaders will fund anyone who truly wants to kill off the Jews in the middle east.
