Saudi king to papers: Stop showing photos of women

I'm warning you: this is another one of those things that makes you immediately "Islamophobic" if you tell anyone about it. Of course, King Abdullah himself is immune to the charge. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

King Abdullah has told Saudi editors to stop publishing pictures of women as they could make young men go astray, newspapers reported Tuesday....

In recent months, newspapers have published pictures of women, always wearing the traditional Muslim headscarf, to illustrate stories with increasing regularity. Usually the stories have had to do with women's issues....

"One must think: do they want their daughter, their sister, or their wife to appear in this way. Of course, no one would accept this," the newspaper Okaz quoted Abdullah as saying.

"The youth are driven by emotion ... and sometimes they can be led astray. So, please, try to cut down on this," he said.

For once, I agree with King Abdullah. We wouldn't want pious Saudi men stop hitting on one another.

Thus Islam "honors" women by making them disappear.

Posted by: Marwan'sDaughter [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 5:34 PM

The underlying implication: Muslims are savage animals who will ruthlessly rape any woman who isn't covered from head to toe. They just can't help it.

I wonder why this problem doesn't exist elsewhere.

One imagines young testosterone fuelled Abdul bangin' the drum while watching newspaper pics of burka clad women. Oh, the joys of being Saudi.

What a weird, woman-hating society the Saudis live in. Feminists at Western universities should demand the removal of all chairs funded by the princely products of this twisted country. Of course, they won't; They can always escape back into their Alice-in-Wonderland holes and preach to each other of their own religion...multi-culturalism.

hmmmmm.....Lead the young men astray. Astray from having sex with other men......sex with younger siblings.....raping improperly dresses women.......immediately going from first wife to second to third to forth.....

Or could it lead the young men astray just like the hordes of money that the King uses for his sordid sex practices.

Or, maybe it could give women a hint that someday they could come out from under the black sheet and actually be a person.

'... and sometimes they can be led astray' - ditching the Al Riyadh and reaching under their prayer mats for a soggy and crumpled copy of 'Burka Babes'.

I once knew this gay guy that worked at a pet store, he said he always wanted to go to Turkey because apparently they have some of the highest numbers of gays in the world. I now believe him, if I can't see a woman's body because Islam forbids it before I marry...well heck I feel for those poor unmarried Turkish guys, they have no other choice.

Islam has a fear of heterosexuality. They only use it to breed more jihadists, but for pleasure, they prefer men to be with men. Homosexuality is a powerful theme in islam. Of course, publically, it is embarrassing, so they stone homosexuals. But privately, homosexuality is their cup of tea.

http://www.faithfreedom.org/Gallery/16.htm

Mahammad Atta was a homosexual. So was most of his dance troop. What islam hates about the west's sexuality is not the degree, but the orientation of it. Imams kissing boys on the mouth and putting their penises on the thighs of babies, in lieu of sodomy at that young age, is part of islam.

So even a modestly dressed woman is enough to set muslim men off on a sexual frenzy.

Posted by: Berf [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 7:49 PM

Feminists in the modern age, are just part of another left wing movement, that uses suffrage has a cover. You will see that feminists don't mention the misery of women anywhere outside the western world, where all the misery is to be found.

They will go ballistic over a pubic hair in a coke, but mention nothing of a girl who is sentenced to a stoning for defending herself from rape. Strange, isn't it?

The Left, whether it be the feminists, the ACLU, the anti-war protestors, care not for humanity. The Left only wants to undermine the West using any venue or vehicle it can. Why? It hates the Christian West. Or put it this way, those who hate the Christian West become, in one capacity or another, part of the Left wing movement.

Actually, movements don't hate. People hate. People have ideologies from early youth. As they grow up, they take sides. Those that hate the Christian West, our mores, our traditions, our history, move to that side and conduct their subterfuge from there. Those who appreciate our history and culture and society, just go to work and mind our own business. That is why the Left usually wins. Normal people mind their own business, while the Left stay up day and night to advance the cause.

Posted by: Alarmed Pig Farmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 8:03 PM

Come on, folks, you know very well this is not about young men being led astray. Stop pretending it is, won't you?

It's about keeping women under covers and underground. It's about keeping women out of the public shpere where they can challenge men, and visibility is that stage where the war of the sexes is being played in this age of pictures and mass media.
The concern is not about the sexual corruption of young men. Muslims know those young men are already corrupt, one way or another, thru the exercise of all kinds of sexual outlets available to them. Men's sexual indulgence is a given in Islam, an institutionalized framework in which the stronger is allwowed to "take" and "posses" the weaker, a function of men's preemminence and power, and a result of gender segregation, to better ensure lack of compassion and relatedness.

It is about the inversion of gender hierarchy in Islam, which threatens Islam's foundations, which in turn secures men's absolute dominion over the lesser creatures, of which the first are women, to be followed by apes and pigs...

Posted by: ovidius_naso [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 8:06 PM

What you said, ovidus_naso. Islam ain't no religion, it's the super-hot new sex perversion.

Posted by: Alarmed Pig Farmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 8:18 PM

Alarmed

So it is, my man. I go on and on, and you find the sparce, few-words diagnostic to clarify everything.

One question: How "super-hot" can this "perversion" be?? I've never seen anything more sad and lonely. Even the proverbial truckers getting relief from pinups seem happier than the Mooslims. Those bikini-clad or topless Playboy centerfolds are fully human, and fully desirable as spouses. If the truckers, poor devils, could ever get to them.

So there goes the little story of my friend Wayne, the trucker, who fantasized about a D-Cup pin-up, one Layla, for ages, and would have given anything to have--read marry--her.

Posted by: ovidius_naso [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 8:42 PM

This explains one reason why so many young men are ready to don a dynamite vest. They ain't getting any here, so, might as well try for the big 72. If these young men could get laid once in a while, or go to the beach and sit around ogling the ladies, maybe they would appreciate real life more instead of that Mohammed BS.

For billybob: May I add a correction? King Abdullah makes Pat Robertson look like Hugh Heffner.

Posted by: Pelayo [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 9:21 PM

from the Muslim hate and fear of women, you must therefore come to the conclusion that Muhammud was gay and or just a twisted man. also with their women covered all up, muslim men cannot control themselves, so they are the weaker sex of the muslim culture. for further examples of muslim cowardice, notice they attack civilians that are not armed, they attack ambush style. they cannot face a Western soldier like a man. It must be hell everyday for a muslim to know you are so inferior, that you have to attack and kill women and children, and to boot they hide among women. what a sad pathetic culture.

This is for our fellow British Jihad Watchers:

A woman goes into a pub in Liverpool with a parrot on her shoulder. The barkeep asks her where did that ugly bird come from. The parrot says. "From Riyadh, the place is full of 'em."

Hmmm...they shut down the photos in the papers but searching/viewing sex and homosexuality on the web is ok. When they censor the web then maybe the king cares about the youth of the kingdom being led astray.

http://www.google.com/trends?q=sex

From Google trends top 10 countries that search for sex?

1. Pakistan

2. Egypt

3. Viet Nam

4. Iran

5. Morocco

6. India

7. Saudi Arabia

8. Turkey

9. Philippines

10. Poland

And homosexuality:

http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/05/12/business/google.php

Even though homosexuality is punishable by death in Saudi Arabia, the kingdom ranks No. 2 for searches for "gay sex," behind the Philippines

Posted by: Abby [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 9:48 PM

In fact, Abby, one could say that "Islam is gay." Highly rigid religious dogma tends to create an atmosphere of homosexuality. In the West, it resides in a small pocket in the Catholic Church. In islam, it is everywhere. It is islam defined. But because of their shame, they alleviate that guilt by stoning each other publically.

Here are some Front Page Magazine articles on the topic of Islam and sexuality, from a psychoanalytic perspective. Psychoanalysis might not be your cup of tea, and I think it is a bit of a pseudoscience, albeint an insightful one, but this is just too fascinating not to share:

Women, being the source of life, nurturing and primal connection to this world by their very nature threaten everything that death-worshipping, self-loathing, and otherworldy that Islamic dogma stands for.

So, of course, the most militant Muslim men must force them into cultural non-existence.

A concept these guys don't get:

"Dum vivimus, vivamus."

("While we are alive, let us live!")

Waiting for the ectoplamsic whorehouse while making ghosts of their flesh and blood girls.

Cosmic morons.

Saudi king to papers: Stop showing photos of women

"...this is another one of those things that makes you immediately "Islamophobic" if you tell anyone about it."

But isn't it rational to fear such intolerant madness? It's the same as being Naziphobic.

I think it was Toynbee who said that in cultures that take a profound interest in the pedigree of horses, it is unwise to ask after the health of your host's wife. I think it was this Arab obsession with knowing you are the father of your own children that was the original rationale for the pre-occupation with female purity and the segregation of unrelated members of the opposite sex.

Widespread homosexuality was an unintended consequence, which is why it is both universally condemned and practiced in the Islamic world. But they can throw away their ladies' burqas now: the availabilty of simple DNA tests has taken away from a woman her age old privelege of being the only one who really knows who the father is.

I'm often fond of quoting Sayyid Qutb's observations on America on this issue:

"The American girl is well acquainted with her body's seductive capacity. She knows it lies in the face, and in expressive eyes, and thirsty lips. She knows seductiveness lies in the round breasts, the
full buttocks, and in the shapely thighs, sleek legs -- and she shows all this and does not hide it....
"They danced to the tunes of the gramophone, and the dance floor was replete with tapping feet, enticing legs, arms wrapped around waists,
lips pressed to lips, and chests pressed to chests. The atmosphere was
full of desire..."

http://tinyurl.com/b54tp

Or an African cleric, explaining why so many Africans are converting from Christianity to Islam. This African cleric said that Africans don't like what they see in Western countries, particularly America: "In America, all your women dress like half-naked sluts."

Islam has "femalephobia," definitely.

Islam in the 21st century thus resembles Christianity in the Middle Ages, when hundreds of thousands of innocent women were accused of witchcraft, and after being convicted by kangaroo courts were burned at the stake after having been stripped naked from the waist down for the enjoyment of the crowds gathered to watch the women burned alive. It took the Christian West centuries to get beyond this; witch burnings didn't end till the 17th century. Islam is about 400 years behind in its treatment of women.

Posted by: Steven L. [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2006 12:43 PM

As to why feminists don't criticize the misogynistic practices of Islam in non-Western countries, the answer is that they used to, in the 1970's and 1980's when feminism was relatively new and idealistic. But with the passage of time, Western feminists formed broad political coalitions with other left-wing groups, and soft-pedaled any feminist concerns that would alienate those other left-wing groups that had other agendas. (In exchange, those other left-wing groups backed the one thing that feminists absolutely insisted on: support for unrestricted abortion. But much of the rest of the feminist agenda got negotiated away.)

Both the left-wing feminist Phyllis Chesler, and the lesbian feminist Tammy Bruce, have written extensively on how Western feminism became corrupted. For Tammy Bruce, the turning point came with the O.J. Simpson trial. At the time, Tammy was head of the California chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW). She publicly denounced the trial and verdict as a travesty and a sad day for abused women everywhere. Soon thereafter, Bruce got a call from the NOW national headquarters, telling her not to criticize O.J. Simpson anymore because NOW had made common cause with black activists and to them, O.J. Simpson was a hero. Eventually, Bruce resigned in disgust and has tried to form her own new feminist organization (Feminist Majority) that will be more independent of doctrinaire left-wing thinking and coalitions.

We saw other corruptions taking place. Making common cause with extreme civil libertarians like the ACLU meant that feminists had to start soft-pedaling their former criticism of pornography. And while feminists, such as NOW, had been in the forefront of criticizing the Taliban's oppression of women in Afghanistan, they largely dropped the subject after 9-11. Because they had made common cause with peacenik activists and they didn't want to give the "warmongers" in the Bush administration any rationale for removing the Taliban from power. When the U.S. went to war to remove the Taliban, this issue badly split the feminist movement in America. In the end, the feminists came down on the side of the peaceniks and they just stopped criticizing Islamic treatment of women.

I have seen two depictions or illustrations on film of Muslim male predilection for boys.
1-- the opening scenes of the film "He Who Must Die" by Jules Dassin
2-- the late yasser a. appeared in a TV news film about 10-13 years ago. He was embracing a boy of about 12 and had a satisfied grin on his face like an ordinary might in more usual sexual circumstances. Yasser seemed very happy and satisfied, but the boy was not smiling.
I was disgusted.
