What did Sir Nick say that was so terrible? Nothing: he said that Muslim immigrants should adopt British values and drop the elements of Islam that are incompatible with those values. That such views would be controversial at all indicates the depth of the crisis in Britain today.

SIR NICHOLAS Winterton’s latest views on British Muslims have been branded "offensive and divisive" by the region’s racial equality council.But the unrepentant Macclesfield MP this week stood by comments made in his latest article in the Macclesfield Express, published in full in today’s edition.
In it, Sir Nick blames multi-culturalism for the terrorist threat facing the country and says that "agitating so-called Muslim community leaders" who criticise the police "should be ashamed of themselves and held to account".
He also adds: "The Australian Government has spelt out bluntly what it expects of its ethnic minority communities and we in the UK should do the same.
"They should stop politicising dress, such as wearing the hijab and burkha, they should learn English, they should not return to their homelands to get a spouse, cease forced marriages and accept once and for all that the United Kingdom is not, and never will be, an Islamic state."
His views come just two days before the first anniversary of the July 7 London bombings and the right-wing Tory MP suggests the "outrageous outcry" in response to last month’s raid in East London, where police found no evidence of a terrorist plot, shows that the British public have already forgotten about the atrocities of one year ago.
The Conservative Party Central Office has distanced itself from the comments, releasing a statement saying: "These are Sir Nick’s personal views".
But they are sure to embarrass Tory leader David Cameron who is aiming to make the party more appealing to the ethnic communities.
In other words, David Cameron wants to sell Britain's soul and future for Muslim votes. Don't get in the way, Sir Nick.
Director of the Cheshire, Halton and Warrington Racial Equality Council, Shantele Janes, said she would raise her concerns over the article with Mr Cameron."We are extremely concerned by the article," she says.
"We think that it is offensive and divisive and we are appalled that someone in his position would be so irresponsible as to make the comments he did, contributing to the climate of hostility towards Muslims in the UK."
Janes, of course, does not consider the possibility that Muslims may be contributing to that "climate of hostility" by not doing the things Sir Nick has said they should do. No, once again, the responsibility for concessions and accommodations lies solely with the non-Muslims.
But Sir Nick insisted such comments represent the views of both his constituents and the wider public."They are forthright and positive and express the views of many of those people who have communicated to me and speak to me about these issues," he said.
"It is time straight talking took place on the sensitive issue of integration and asylum. It is right that people should be told what the majority of British people believe.
"I’m advised there are 70 suspected terror plots to attack Britain that are being investigated and the threat has not diminished almost a year on from the bombings in London which resulted in 56 innocent people losing their lives.
"I would prefer the police to raid a house and, ultimately, for the people who were arrested to be released than for people to be allowed to develop terrorist plots.
"We have experienced terrorism in this country from the IRA and I took just as strong a line in respect of IRA terrorism.
"But if people come to this country they should seek to integrate into the country and to accept our laws and our traditions."
While many countries may look on with envy at Britain’s multiculturalism, Sir Nick feels it is that diversity which has fuelled the terrorist threat.
"I do not believe multiculturalism is a good thing, and the chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality has said the same thing. What we want is to have integration into our society. Unfortunately, many of those within the Muslim world are not prepared to integrate.
"One is not against people coming to this country who are coming here to protect themselves because their lives would be in danger in the country of their origin, but they should show due gratitude and respect for that."

If only there were more politicians like him. I'd like to hear a dhimmi explain why it's offensive to demand integration. Actually, don't even dhimmis often talk about integration? Maybe the difference between Sir Nick and the dhimmis is that Sir Nick actually specifies what integration would mean in practise, while the dhimmis just vaguely refer to "integration," so everyone can interpret it as they wish, and nobody is offended.

Sir Nick is slightly wrong.
It is not integration that Muslims oppose. No, they do want it; rapidly and thouroughly. And they especially want it in the political arena.
What they oppose is assimilation:
"Qaradawi asserted that Muslims should be "upright without being inclusive and they should work for integration but not assimilation.""

What you really need is to encourage Muslims to move to Mecca, where they will feel more at home, not to accept more of these infil-traitors, under any pretext, because they aim not to assimilate into England, but to assimilate England into the Ummah, -with Sharia Law supplanting The Magna Carta.
You don't ask a cancer to assimilate, you ask it to leave.
As Mohammedans should be encouraged to repatriate.

Bravo, finally a conventional politician is standing up for the British people!
Integration is better them Multicultural separation and if they don't integrate then they should leave England.
British culture and values should be what immigrants aspire to, but I doubt that in the present state many will take it up.
So why continue unchecked immigration?

Sir Nicholas is quite clear on the sort of integration that is required. If such integration became mandatory - and even Trevor Phillips is for it.
A policy of intergration that requires the immigrant community to adopt the ways and norms of the host society is so obvious, well meaning, and for the good of all, that it beggars the imagination why anything else is considered to make immigrants feel un-alienated. Most muslims who consider themselves muslim and unable to accept integration, will find it difficult to live in the UK/West, and accept their boxed halal lunch box on the plane back home.

In an article in the Independent, the grand master of Taqqiya, Tariq Ramadan, advises muslims in the West, "Western Muslims must develop a critical discourse that rejects victimhood, and that criticises radical or literal readings of religious teachings.".

Sir Nicholas would also like to see muslims adopt the culture of Britain/West. Wonderful! But what happens when a conflict arises. Below is a letter from a muslim who lives in the USA, which states it as it is.
Islam or death
I read Le Roy Barnett’s letter (“Muslims, speak up,” June 26) about Muslims’ opinion on Abdul Rahman’s conversion to Christianity.
Islam is not only a religion, it is a complete way of life. Islam guides Muslims from birth to grave. The Quran and prophet Muhammad’s words and practical application of Quran in life cannot be changed.
Islam is a guide for humanity, for all times, until the day of judgment. It is forbidden in Islam to convert to any other religion. The penalty is death. There is no disagreement about it.
Islam is being embraced by people of other faiths all the time. They should know they can embrace Islam, but cannot get out. This rule is not made by Muslims; it is the supreme law of God.
Please do not ask us Muslims to pick some rules and disregard other rules. Muslims are supposed to embrace Islam in its totality.

EXACTLY. That means Jihad, be-headings etc. It is naive and futile to expect anything else.
This has been known for a long time. In one sense muslims are right that we are to blame. If we didnt know that this situation would come about in the West itself when we allowed mass immigration of muslims, then it is our ignorance and fault.
There is no way that muslims and islam will adapt to Western values. We are heading towards bloodshed on a grand scale, which leaves me in utter dread. Far better and humane for all, muslims and non-muslims, that muslims are encouraged to return to their muslim countries.

According to Berlin officials, the 33-year-old intentionally broke through a concrete barrier near the capital's landmark Brandenburg Gate in an effort to seek attention. The driver was arrested at gunpoint after his car crashed into a fence in front of a stage. A 55-year-old woman in the passenger seat was also arrested but later released.A psychiatric disorder was firmly established as the reason for the dangerously erratic behaviour, although responsibility was not excluded. "There is an investigation of attempted murder," police spokesman Bernhard Schodrowski said, who refused to elaborate any further.
The driver was identified as a "German of Indian" origin.
Only yesterday it expired and then only in one single medium (as far as I was able to trace) that the driver is a "German of PAKISTANI" origin. The, according to eye-witnesses headscarfed, woman in the passenger seat was his mother.

What Winterton ignores, and moderate Muslims pretend does not exist, is the extent to which the fabric of society within these Muslim enclaves is maintained by intimidation and the threat or actual use of violence. From wife beating through to honour killings it is part of the background ambience of thses communities. A Muslim who decides to convert to Christianity may well be signing his own death warrant, even in the UK. At the height of the Rushdie affair there was not a gathering of Muslims in the country who would not have lynched him if they got their hands on him. Muslim girls who are seen with boys of other religions risk being beaten up - or more likely the boy will be attacked. Many periodicals were genuinely too frightened to publish the Mo cartoons. Even at a place I once worked an old Moslem man appeared one day waving a kitchen knife in the presence of the receptionist - although it turned out that he wanted to use it on boys who were supposed to be bothering Muslim girls nearby. The terrorist bombings could be seen as just an extension of this determination to impose the will of allah by force if necesary. Only if Moslems admit, address and abandon this (already illegal) mode of behaviour, both towards each other and the host population, will it be safe to live in the same country as them, let alone talk of integration.

Religious Civil war in Europe, along lines similar to Bosnia and Kosovo, is something I have predicted for a long while. This is just confirmation that muslims have had this in mind, and are now confident enough to say so openly.

Politicians, muslims and the media tell us that there are 1.6 or 1.8m muslims in the UK. This figure is based on the 2001 census. Over the last 5 years there has been a huge immigration of muslims from all over the world, as well as a huge birth rate. I believe the actual figure of muslims is nearer the 5m mark.
Now the critical mass for a muslim generated civil war for a separate state starts when the muslim population is around 10% i.e., 5m for the UK. Fits. Its no wonder that New Labour continues with the 1.6m figure. They do not wish to admit that they are the main cause of the advanced state of Jihad in the UK.

Unfortunately anything other than full appeasement is merely slapped down as racism even though Islam isn't a race and incidentally the British cannot be racially abused because the authorities don't deem us to be a "race" so go figure. Politics has died in the UK because the politicians are generally too scared to rock the multiculturalist boat and any who do usually face losing their jobs and even freedom. A recipe for the creation of militias and para-military self defence organisations sometime in the near future.
