Beheading Nations - The Islamization of Europe's Cities

A new essay by the superb European writer Fjordman:

We have seen videos on TV of Muslim Jihadis beheading infidel hostages. Less attention has been paid to the fact that Muslims are beheading entire nation states. Although this is happening in slow motion, it is no less dramatic. Historically, the major cities have constituted a country's "head," the seat of most of its political institutions and the largest concentration of its cultural brainpower. What happens when this "head" is cut off from the rest of the body? In many countries across Western Europe, Muslim immigrants tend to settle in major cities, with the native population retreating to minor cities or into the countryside. Previously, Europeans or non-Europeans could travel between countries and visit new cities, each with its own, distinctive character and peculiarities. Soon, you will travel from London to Paris, Amsterdam or Stockholm and find that you have left one city dominated by burkas and sharia to find……yet another city dominated by burkas and sharia. For some reason, this eradication of unique, urban cultures is to be celebrated as "cultural diversity." Britain's population is projected to rise by more than seven million in the next 25 years. The predictions were even greater than those made by the Migrationwatch UK think-tank, whose forecasts had been dismissed in the past as alarmist. Sir Andrew Green, the chairman of Migrationwatch, said the figures were '"staggering." "They totally demolish the Government's claim that it has a 'managed migration' policy. In fact they show that immigration into the UK is out of control." British citizenship has been granted to nearly one million foreign nationals since Labour and Tony Blair came to power in 1997. "Grants of citizenship have quadrupled under the present Government. This is a direct result of their 'no limits' immigration policy." "Immigration on this scale is changing the nature of our society without public consent. It is no longer acceptable."
More white families are moving from London to the regions while many immigrants arrive in the capital from overseas. Migrationwatch said that the change in 10 years had been "extraordinarily rapid'" and "unprecedented." Whites will soon become a minority in Birmingham and other major British cities, posing a "critical" challenge to social stability, Britain's race relations watchdog warned. Statistics showed that white and ethnic minority communities were becoming increasingly segregated.

"Asian youths," a British euphemism for Pakistanis and Muslims from South Asia, in parts of Oldham are trying to create no-go areas for white people. One of them told: "There are signs all around saying whites enter at your risk. It's a matter of revenge." However, it's not just the white natives that are targets of Muslim violence, but other non-Muslims, too. A report on Hindus being driven out of the English city of Bradford by young Muslims was described by some Hindus as "ethnic cleansing." Some of them want to leave the city to escape the "Talibanization of
Bradford."

In an online story in newspaper The Daily Telegraph that was removed "for legal reasons," former Muslim Dr. Patrick Sookhdeo warned that British Muslims could soon form a state within the state. Dr Sookhdeo believed that "in a decade, you will see parts of English cities which are controlled by Muslim clerics and which follow, not the common law, but aspects of Muslim sharia law." "In 1980, the Islamic Council of Europe laid out their strategy for the future - and the fundamental rule was never dilute your presence. That is to say, do not integrate." "Rather, concentrate Muslim presence in a particular area until you are a majority in that area, so that the institutions of the local community come to reflect Islamic structures. The education system will be Islamic, the shops will serve only halal food, there will be no advertisements showing naked or semi-naked women, and so on."

The next step will be pushing the Government to recognize sharia law for Muslim communities - which will be backed up by the claim that it is "racist" or "Islamophobic" to deny them this. Sookhdeo noted that there is already a Sharia Law Council for the UK. "There are Muslim men in Britain who marry and divorce three women, then marry a fourth time - and stay married, in sharia law, to all four." "The more fundamentalist clerics think that it is only a matter of time before they will persuade the Government to concede on the issue of sharia law. Given the Government's record of capitulating, you can see why they believe that."

In France, Muslims already have many smaller states within the state. Criminologist Lucienne Bui Trong wrote that: "From 106 hot points in 1991, we went to 818 sensitive areas in 1999." The term she used, "sensitive areas," was used to describe Muslim no-go zones where anything representing a Western institution (post office truck, firemen, even mail order delivery firms) was routinely ambushed with Molotov cocktails. The number was 818 in 2002, when the French government decided to stop collecting the statistics.

In some of these areas, the phenomenon of gang rape "has become banal." Violence against and pressure on women is part of daily life in the suburbs, where boys can dictate how girls should dress. Pressure is mounting for Muslim women to wear veils. In 2002, a 17-year-old girl was set alight by an 18-year-old boy as his friends stood by. The support group "Ni Putes, Ni Soumises" ("Neither Whores nor Submissives") says the number of forced marriages has risen in recent years, with roughly 70,000 girls pressured into unwanted relationships each year in France. A leaked study conducted between October 2003 and May 2004 under the auspices of France's inspector-general of education, Jean Pierre Obin, described an educational system where Muslim students regularly boycotted classes that concerned Voltaire, Rousseau and Moliere, whom the students accused of being anti-Islamic. Orbin's report cited Muslim students' refusal to use the "plus" sign in mathematics because it looks like a crucifix; Muslims boycotting class trips to churches, cathedrals and monasteries; and forcing wholesale changes in school lunch fare to accommodate their religious practices.

The influence of radical Islamist groups is a growing threat to French business, too, a leading intelligence expert warned, citing the discovery of secret prayer-rooms at the Disneyland theme-park outside Paris. A report commissioned by several retail and courier companies stated that the Islamists' strategy is to "take control of Muslims within the workforce" and then "challenge the rules in order to impose Islamic values." French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said that the riots in 2005 were rather "well organized." Caroline Glick of the Jerusalem Post noted that some Muslim leaders explained that what they wanted was autonomy in their ghettos: "They seek to receive extraterritorial status from the French government, meaning that they will set their own rules based, one can assume, on Sharia law. If the French government accepts the notion of communal autonomy, France will cease to be a functioning state." Following three weeks of unrest, the police said 98 vehicles torched in one day marked a "return to a normal situation everywhere in France." Some of the rioters left boasting messages on various Internet forums. "We aren't going to let up. The French won't do anything and soon, we will be in the majority here" One observer stated: "In France, the majority of young Muslims believe that French society is dying, committing suicide. More like 10 percent to 20 percent of them believe that they are in the process of replacing European civilization with an Islamic one." In the southern city of Marseille, Muslims make up at least a quarter of the population, and rising fast.

In the Netherlands, Muslims will soon make up the majority in all major cities. "Today, we have 1 million Muslims out of 16 million Dutch," according to Frits Bolkestein, Dutch politician. "Within 10 years, they will have an absolute majority in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. We are staring into the face of a shortly to be divided community. Muslims have the right to their own schools, so there is no teaching of evolution, gay teachers are not tolerated but anti-Semitism is." A researcher for the Netherlands Ministry for Immigration and Integration found that 40% of young Moroccan Muslims in the Netherlands rejected Western values and democracy. Six to seven percent were prepared to use force to "defend" Islam, and the majority were opposed to freedom of speech for offensive statements, particularly criticism of Islam.

We are witnessing a dramatic change in Europe, which men like Bolkestein see as underlined by a drop in national confidence in European countries over the entirety of the last century. The immigration problem, he said, "has to do with the loss of confidence in one's own civilization. It started with World War II, which was really a mass European suicide. Then, the rise of fascism, the Holocaust and the 1968 student cultural revolutions across Europe. There is no clear European identity today. This has a real impact on foreign policy."

Douglas Murray attended a conference in memory of the murdered Islam critic Pim Fortuyn in 2006, and noted with concern the strict security
measures and what he saw as a nation under siege. "All across Europe, debate on Islam is being stopped. Italy's greatest living writer, Oriana Fallaci, soon comes up for trial in her home country, and in Britain the government seems intent on pushing through laws that would make truths about Islam and the conduct of its followers impossible to voice. Europe is shuffling into darkness. It is proving incapable of standing up to its enemies, and in an effort to accommodate the peripheral rights of a minority is failing to protect the most basic rights of its own people." A survey in April 2005, after the murder of another critic of Islam, Theo van Gogh, indicated that 32 percent of Dutch people wanted to emigrate abroad.

They leave what was once their country in favor of people such as Dyab Abou Jahjah, founder of the Arab European League (AEL). The AEL, founded in Belgium in 2000, now has branches in the Netherlands and France, and intends to spread across the EU. Jahjah, who has called the 9/11 attacks "sweet revenge," recruits Muslim youth to spread his ideology, which calls for the introduction of sharia in Europe. "We have three basic demands," he says. "Bilingual education for Arab-speaking kids, hiring quotas that protect Muslims, and the right to keep our cultural customs." "Assimilation is cultural rape. It means renouncing your identity, becoming like the others." Jahjah has also demanded that Arabic should be made an official language in Belgium.
Belgium's Jews, in particular Antwerp's Jewish diamond merchants, have earlier felt threatened by the Arab European League (AEL), which issued a statement: "The AEL calls on the Jewish community in Antwerp to cease its support of, and distance itself from, the state of Israel. If not, attacks in Antwerp are almost unpreventable." Security sources in Germany warned that the country was home to between 3,000 and 5,000 potential Islamic suicide attackers. A Berlin court in 2005 ruled that a well-known Turkish religious leader should be extradited to Turkey. In his Berlin mosque he repeatedly said that "all Germans were stinking people and doomed to go to hell because they were useless creatures and infidels." Shortly before, the press spokesman of this mosque had told about the Turks' strong interest in fostering good relations with native Germans. TV correspondent Reinhard Laska feared that the opinions voiced by the Imam were only the tip of the iceberg: "There was nobody in the mosque who stood up and demanded that the Imam stop his nasty talk about Germans," he said. "Nobody seemed to mind at all." In 2006, "Valley of the Wolves," a virulently anti-Semitic film about the Iraq war, sold out to cheering audiences from Germany's 2.5 million-strong Turkish community. According to Der Spiegel, Germany's and Europe's biggest weekly magazine, an estimated number of 50 women in Germany have been murdered in so-called honor killings in the past decade. Their crime? Trying to break free and live Western lifestyles. Within their communities, the killers are revered as heroes for preserving their family dignity. Much of this insular and ultra-religious world is out of public view, "often hidden in inner-city apartments where the most influential links to the outside world are satellite dishes that receive Turkish and Arabic television and the local mosque." "In these families, loyalty and honor are elevated virtues and women are treated little better than slaves, unseen by society and often unnoticed or ignored by their German neighbors." It caused an outcry when a group of 14-year-old Turkish boys mocked one victim during a class discussion. "She deserved what she got. The whore lived like a German."

In Denmark, the nation-wide organization of Women's Crisis Centres claims that a number of taxi drivers with immigrant background are spying on female immigrants who are in hiding, sending information about their whereabouts to their families. It was a group of taxi drivers who informed a Pakistani man where he could find his sister. He murdered her in broad daylight outside a train station because she had married a man from Afghanistan against her family's orders. 80% of the women seeking help at crisis centres in the city of Oslo, Norway, are from immigrant background.

Non-western immigrants account for nearly 86 percent of the Norwegian capital's total population growth over the past ten years. Muslims make up such a high percentage of cab drivers that it can be hard to obtain a taxi during Islamic holidays. Blind people with their guide dogs are finding it increasingly difficult to get a taxi ride, as demonstrated by a lady in the city of Drammen outside Oslo. Grethe Olsen, accompanied by her guide dog Isak, experienced being rejected by no less than 21 taxis before finally getting a ride. Olsen thought the taxi drivers said no for religious reasons. The Norwegian Blind Association confirmed that this is a well known problem all over the country, especially in cities with many immigrants. Dogs are considered extremely dirty animals in Islam and only permitted for certain limited uses, such as guarding your property. Two hadith, traditions relating to the words and deeds of Muhammad, state that: "The Prophet said, "Angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or there are pictures" and "Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) ordered the killing of dogs and we would send (men) in Medina and its corners and we did not spare any dog that we did not kill."

Mullah Krekar, former leader of Kurdish guerilla group Ansar-al-Islam, lives in Oslo. He has praised Iraqi al-Qaida leader Abu Musab
al-Zarqawi, has stated that "Osama bin Laden is a good person" and that he was willing to sacrifice himself for bin Laden. Krekar told an Oslo newspaper that there's a war going on between the West and Islam, and that he was sure that Islam would win. Rumor has it that Krekar is such a respected man among many fellow Muslims that he gets taxi rides for free. Which means that it is easier to get a taxi ride in Norway's capital if you praise Osama bin Laden than if you are blind.

It has been reported that shopkeepers in certain areas of Oslo now need to pay protection money. The criminals are more trigger-happy than ever, and since many of them abide by the rules of blood vengeance, violence is rapidly increasing. In Sweden, reports about criminal gangs and mafias, a phenomenon that is growing day by day, are coming in from urban areas all over the country, and a feeling of powerlessness is spreading among ordinary citizens. "We have no other possibility than to flee from this area. Families cannot fight against these problems alone. We are talking about survival, you can get stabbed here. We can only survive by attempting to avoid getting targeted."

Feriz and Pajtim, members of youth gang Gangsta Albanian Thug Unit in the Swedish city of Malmö, explain how they mug and beat people downtown. "Many of us participated in gangs that fought against the Serbs during the war in Kosovo. Violence is in our blood," Feriz said. They target a lone victim and make him a scapegoat. "We make it look like he bumped into one of us. Then we have an opportunity to attack him. We surround him and beat and kick him until he no longer fights back," he said. "You are always many more people than your victims. Cowardly?" "I have heard that from many, but I disagree. The whole point is that they're not supposed to have a chance." Neither Feriz nor Pajtim expressed any sympathy for their victims. "If they get injured, they just have themselves to blame for being weak," said Pajtim and shrugged.

They bring with them a rather brutal culture to Sweden. A BBC article described how the centuries-old custom of blood feuds has made a comeback in Albania in recent years. "The law and order vacuum created by the collapse of communism sent many Albanians back to the ancient customary laws of their tribal roots." "The Kanuns sanction blood feuds and regulate them from all points of view," said professor of law Ismet Elezi. "And first they established the rule: whoever kills will be killed. Blood is avenged with blood." In an effort to end to this perpetual cycle of revenge, the Albanian education ministry has set up programmes for children affected by blood feuds. Each local authority tries to identify the children who do not attend school because they are in hiding or confined to their homes. "It's between the families. If we go and ask for the police to help this thing will get even worse."

What the BBC conveniently "forgot" to mention in this article was that these blood feuds are rooted in Islamic teachings. Two men were killed in a row involving a group of second generation immigrants in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2005. According to imam Abu Laban, who was later responsible for whipping up hatred against his country of residence because of the now famous cartoons of Muhammad in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, the thirst for revenge could be cooled if 200,000 kroner were paid by the family of the man who fired the shots.

200,000 Danish kroner is approximately the value of 100 camels, a number based on the example of Muhammad himself. The idea of blood money originates from the Koran, 2.178. Indemnity is secured through the payment of blood money to the next-of-kin or the injured party, as opposed to retaliation, in which the killer is put to death or has a like injury inflicted on him/her. It depends upon what the family of the deceased or the injured party wants.

Politiken, a left-leaning newspaper championing Multiculturalism in Denmark, argued that the principle of blood money might be worth considering. Luckily, they were met by an outcry from angry citizens. Apart from the apparent 7th century time warp Muslims seemed stuck in, many commentators missed out on the worst part of the blood money concept: The compensation to be paid is not the same for all people. The only full members of the Islamic community are Muslim men. All others have fewer rights, due to their religion, sex or slave status. The rates for blood money mirror this religious apartheid system, which is deeply ingrained in Islamic law. A Saudi Arabian court ruled that the value of one woman's life was equal to that of one man's leg.

A secret high-level UK police report concluded that Muslim officers were more likely to become corrupt than white officers, with complaints of misconduct and corruption against Muslim officers running 10 times higher than against their colleagues. "Asian officers and in particular Pakistani Muslim officers are under greater pressure from the family, the extended family ... and their community against that of their white colleagues to engage in activity that might lead to misconduct or criminality." The report argued that British Pakistanis live in a cash culture in which "assisting your extended family is considered a duty" and in an environment in which large amounts of money are loaned between relatives and friends. It recommended that Asian officers needed special anti-corruption training. Only an extremely small percentage of the inhabitants of Pakistan, and many other Muslim countries, actually pay taxes. If Pakistanis don't even pay taxes in Islamic Pakistan, why should they pay taxes to, or feel any loyalty towards, infidel, Western states? The clan is everything, the state is an enemy, a mentality people from these countries bring with them to the West, along with the corruption and the tribal violence associated with it.

The massive concentration of Muslims in major European cities will have dramatic consequences, some of which are already visible. If it is allowed to continue, it will destroy the coherence of society that is necessary for our democracies and our legal systems to work. Increased urban insecurity means that the state is not able to guarantee the security of its citizens. If ordinary citizens feel that the state is no longer able to guarantee the safety of their loved ones, then perhaps native Europeans will create groups and "clans" of their own, to counter the Muslim clans. The result will be a re-tribalization of our countries. The downfall of the nation state, if it happens, will be chaotic, painful and bloody. Can it still be avoided? Only time will tell.

A 22 year old man was stabbed in a car on Tuesday evening, and several hours later police were called to the same area to investigate reports of shots being fired. Both the stabbing and the shooting are thought to be part of a big family feud that has been going on for some time in Malmö, where several people have now been detained and convicted for separate assaults. A mass of people arrived at the scene of the stabbing and shooting on Tuesday. Police took three young men suspected of being involved with the knife fight with them, but the chaos was just beginning.

Police sent in 12 patrol units and a secure van to try and calm things down. More shots were heard and objects were thrown at the house. "We have also had reports that somebody was in the house and kidnapped two children," said Lennart Hornemark, police spokesman. "They report each other for different crimes and tell a lot of stories about what the others have done. This is all just a bit crazy." Seven people were arrested on Tuesday and others were detained. The 22 year old left the hospital after several hours, while police kept an eye out for more trouble. When the two families met in Malmö district court last week, police were forced to take in 16 people after a machete, knives, iron pipes, and batons were found in cars outside.

“Let Them Eat Kebab” — The New Marie Antoinettes

Jonathan Friedman, an American living in Sweden, mentions that the so-called Integration Act of 1997 proclaimed that “Sweden is a Multicultural society.” Notes to the Act also stated that “Since a large group of people have their origins in another country, the Swedish population lacks a common history. The relationship to Sweden and the support given to the fundamental values of society thus carry greater significance for integration than a common historical origin.”

The Act thus implicitly states that the country of Sweden doesn’t have a history, only the various ethnic groups that live there. Native Swedes, who have shaped the country for centuries, have thus been reduced to just another ethnic group in Sweden, with no more claim to the country than the Kurds or the Somalis who arrived there last Thursday. The political authorities of the country have thus erased their own people’s history, without staging any public debate about this. I have read that Muslim immigrants in Sweden say that Sweden doesn’t have a common cultural or religious heritage; it’s just made up of different groups tied together by the use of a common language. It is thus “racist” to even talk about how “we” should integrate “them,” since there is no “we” to begin with.

Jens Orback, Democracy Minister in the Social Democratic Swedish government, is worried about “the public’s lack of faith in politicians.” Yet the same Orback said during a radio debate that: “We must be open and tolerant towards Islam and Muslims because when we become a minority, they will be so towards us.” It sounded almost too crazy even for Sweden that a minister could say something like this in public, so I checked with several independent sources, and apparently, he really did say this.

This is a government that knows perfectly well that their people will become a minority in their own country, and yet, is doing nothing to stop this. On the contrary, they are actively working to achieve this result. Has this ever happened before in human history, that the leaders of a nation are working to erase their own people and their history, and present this as an act of tolerance? No wonder some Swedes say that there is a war against Swedes going on: A physical war waged by Muslim immigrants, and a cultural and legal war waged by their own political élites.

it is possible that Multiculturalism never was about tolerance to begin with. For some, it was about vanity. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s most open-minded of them all?” It’s a beauty contest for bored, Western intellectuals who use immigrants as a mirror to reflect their own inflated egos, a sport where they can nurse their vanity in the mistaken belief that denigrating your own cultural heritage is a sign of goodness and lack of prejudice.

However, there are others who understand perfectly well that Multiculturalism is only temporary, and use it as a means to further their own ideological ends. They use Multiculturalism and massive immigration as a battering ram to smash the Old Order of Judeo-Christian nation states to pave way for a New Order, be that a pan-European super-state or the global dictatorship of the proletariat. Creative destruction, in other words. And this is where I strongly disagree with Mr. Hauge, who thinks Multiculturalism “just happened,” an accident of nature. I don’t know; much of it sounds pretty man-made to me.

It is true that the traditional system of nation-states will be challenged in the 21st century. Part of the challenge is indeed posed by impersonal forces of technological globalization. However, Multiculturalism is probably more a deliberate result of ideology than an accidental result of technology. The settlement slash invasion by millions of Muslims in major European cities was a direct result of secret behind-the-scenes agreements made by EU authorities, as documented in Bat Ye’or’s work on Eurabia, and it was widely cheered by Leftist intellectuals.

The political élites are involved in a Project — for it is a deliberate, organized project — to dissolve the nation states of the West.

I call them The New Marie Antoinettes. The old Marie Antoinette, 18th century Queen of France, was famous for the quote “If the people have no bread, then let them eat cake,” although some claim she never actually said this The New Marie Antoinettes would probably have said “Let them eat kebab.” They think cries for national sovereignty is an old superstition among common people, and are actively dismantling the nation states of Europe through massive immigration, Multiculturalism and supranational institutions, primarily the EU.

They never asked for permission to do this, and have never even mentioned this Project in public. The creation of this new entity, Eurabia, is the greatest act of treason in the last two thousand years of Western history, and has almost brought Europe to its knees. Western political élites seem to think that we now live in the “global” age, and that any sense of attachment to your nation state or even your civilization is silly and “old-fashioned.” This is now creating an unprecedented gap of trust between the people and their leaders, which in Europe in particular is now so large that it could soon threaten the foundations of our democratic society. Can our countries survive when the people who are supposed to protect and serve them no longer believe in the very institutions they are supposed to represent?

One blogger suggested naming this Project The Great Deconstruction, a name I like. Earlier generations lived in the Age of Reason, we live in the Age of Deconstruction, where our Universities and institutions are more interested in deconstructing and breaking down all of our cultural heritage than in defending it and passing it on to our children.

So far, our liberal élites have been more effective in breaking down the Old Order than in making a New Order. Their “creative destruction” could turn out to be much more destructive than creative. Instead of a new pan-European identity we will see a temporary return to some very old tribalism. I hope I’m wrong, but I fear that I’m not.

It is hard to feel any simpathy for Europeans. They're digging their own graves. If you read usenet newsgroups frequented by Europeans (rec.sport.soccer, rec.sport.tennis, etc.), whenever the (off-topic) subject of Muslim immigrants comes up, the vast majority of posters are of the strong opinion that Muslim extremists are a tiny minority, and that the real problem is the racism of the police and establisment. And whoever points out facts about Muslims is immediately labelled racist.

So there is no hope.

Unfortunately, no amount of evidence will ever convince a multiculturalist that he's wrong. You can come up with the most damning, indisputable evidence you can think of, and somehow the multiculturalist will find a way to dismiss it. It'll be interesting to see if all-out urban warfare will start occuring in Sweden or France during my lifetime.

This does sound hopeless. Our leaders need to become aware of the dangers of islam. Burkas, hijabs and chadors should be banned. It should be considered as shackles were to slaves. Ban them. If muslim women aren't allowed out of the house, that should be considered slavery. If they're marrying off young girls...pedophilia. Get the father and the husband. If these "immigrants" aren't learning the language and working within a certain amount of time, back to their country of origin. While they're on the welfare rolls, birth control should be required for benefits. Control of all mosques. Limit number of mosques. Ban any paraphenalia of violence. (I know, but until they ban the koran...). If the school age children won't go to class or are disruptive, give them three strikes, then you're out. Send the family back to their country of origin. Values start in the home and if they're doing these things in school, they're being taught this way at home.

Stop the invasion.

Really good article. I am going to put it on my blog.

Europe has done this because they are liberal to the core. Or should I say Left to the core. This is the fruit of leftism. And also the fruit of trying to be as un-American as possible - to reject the American melting-pot approach to immigration. As such, and as a conservative, I take schadenfreude in their own self-created dilemma.

This is the blowback - to the blowback - the Germans created from killing 6 million Jews. In short, the Holocaust created a pavlovian reflex in the west, especially in Europe, to ethnic minorities. And the reflex action was to open the door and lie down to purge the ghosts of the Nazis. Ironic, considering that the Nazis and the muslims got on just fine. But Europe ignored that irony, and in the name of stamping out racism and anti-semitism, invited racist anti-semites to take over the show.

To which I say again, schadenfreude fills my heart.

However, I do feel that this will lead to a civil war in Europe, where white people fight back and eventually destroy the muslims. Like in Yugoslavia. What will happen is that the armed forces of the European states will disintegrate because the whites in those institutions will cease to obey the governments orders to restore order, and will form their own militias. The muslims will have access to military hardware that they commandeer from the state, or which is given to them by the state, and the civil war will be on.

Then a new Europe will be born, free of islam.

But millions will die in that civil war. All because of the Left. More people have died from social upheavel caused by the Left in the last 100 years than have died of malaria.

I suspect that the simple grottiness of living in the east end of London (the inner areas of which are very popular with rats) or in decaying northern mill towns will eventually have more influence on Muslim settlement habits than fantasies of domination. The urge to live somewhere nicer should be helped along by a tendency of these places to become crime and drug infesred holes, despite all the wonders of a disciplined and ordered Islamic lifestyle (it's not always possible to channel the anti-social energies of discontented young men in the direction of the kaffir).The better off Muslims have always had a tendency to move over to Southall and Wembley to join their fellow Hindu and Sikh sub-continentals in a slightly more salubrious neighbourhod: being an optimistic type, I suspect that any Muslim self-created ghettoes would turn into such hellholes that those who can will be only to grateful to get out.

Why would I- why would anyone who grew up in such a culture- either in America or Europe- want to dilute that shining accomplishment with a reversion to tribal terroristic cultisms?

What is (-was-) Europe thinking?

Or does the self-loathing creed of the "Multicult" prevent critical thought?

All people may be created equal.

But all thoughts are not.

All cultures are not.

Liberty trumps slavery.

Humanity trumps terror.

Is segregation a state of mind?
Is Britain segregated? Do people live in ghettos defined by their race or religion - and is this something to fear?
Long before last year's bomb attacks in London a debate had been growing over whether or not citizens of multi-racial, multi-faith Britain were living "parallel lives".

Nobody has come up with any clear answers - in fact the London bombings seem to have made the debate even more complicated.

But organisers of a conference about the experience of Muslims in British cities, say it's time we re-thought what is meant by segregation and ghettos.

"Muslims may live in one area, they may go to Halal shops, they may go to the mosque," says Dr Tasleem Shakur, one of the organisers of the conference at the University of Central England in Birmingham.

"They are quite happy and do not need to necessarily step outside of that community and it is not causing any harm."

As such Dr Shakur believes the key issue is not necessarily the spaces in which people physically live - but the spaces people occupy in their heads.

He says many British Muslims live in an "Islamic psyche" which, in the case of British-Pakistanis is physically in the UK but mentally "they effectively like to think they are in Karachi, living in a virtual Islamic world".

"There's a dearth of knowledge about how segregation really works," says Dr Shakur of Edge Hill University in Lancashire.

As an example, he says mosques are viewed suspiciously by some authorities - but in reality, part of their role is to provide "services to the community which government has denied them".

"The more government misunderstands this psyche, then the worse the problem becomes because it prevents the growth in confidence needed to become part of the mainstream."

History lessons

So are there any ways of projecting forward what happens to such communities?

Dr Laura Vaughan of University College London is an architect by training who uses scientific methods to calculate how cities become more or less segregated. She says that Britain needs to look at its history.

"I came across this book from 1900 called The Jew in London," she says.

"What is fascinating about the maps is that it shows the so-called 'Jewish ghetto' of 100 years ago. But Jewish people just don't live [in numbers] in those areas anymore."

Dr Vaughan has used census records to chart the long, slow process of geographic integration of the Jewish community, as it moved away from its initial, tight-knit, immigrant base.

"One can be clustered, as the Jewish communities were, but it does not necessarily mean that you are segregated from society."

US comparison

A great deal of the debate has focused on comparisons between the UK and USA - with disputed research last year suggesting that segregation in the UK was getting worse.

Trevor Phillips, head of the Commission for Racial Equality, warned that Britain was "sleepwalking to segregation". However, other experts rejected that analysis, with Professor Ceri Peach of Oxford University labelling it as "alarmist".

So what is the true picture? Some US minorities comprise 90 to 100% of the population in their neighbourhood and may rarely see the face of someone with a different colour to themselves.

In contrast, the recognised method of monitoring segregation in British cities shows the situation has either improved or stayed the same over the past 15 years.

"My general theory is that immigrant communities develop naturally in a location that enables slow integration over time," says Dr Vaughan.

"When we look at the Bangladeshis in London's East End, people say they have been there since the 1970s. Well it takes time and we forget that. It's possible that we will see Muslims following the same trajectory as the Jewish communities."

Somehow what is in this article has to pushed to the front of the brains of everyone in the Western world capable of thinking ahead. They looked carefully at how, before World War II, most of the so-called Sudeten Germans, some 3.5 million people, had demonstrated palpable disloyalty to the Czech state and people, and agitated, under the supervision of German agents, for their "legitimate rights," and this campaign helped de-legitimize the Czech government and people, and made it easier for the recent history of their country and people, and the disloyalty shown by many Sudeten Germans, in the late 1930s, when they agitated for separation, Henlein's demonstrations for "legitimate rights" carefully orchestrated by Nazi agents, all ofw which helped to persuade Czechoslovakia's supposed Western allies, Great Britain and France, to abandon her at Munich to whatever Hitler had in store.

In 1946, despite the fact that Germany lay in ruins, and both Germany and Austria were occupied by American, British, French, and Russian troops, Masaryk and Benes, supported by the entire Czech population, decided to ensure that never again would Czechs be forced to endure worry, and the permanent insecurity, of having such a potentially disloyal and dangerous populaion in its midst. By the most famous of those measures known as the Benes Decrees, the Czech government expelled from its land 3 million Sudeten Germans. Though later some found fault with the over-inclusive nature of the expulsion, and with other aspects of its execution, no Czech then, nor any Western leader (not Churchill, not De Gaulle, not anyone), then or since, has found fault with the Benes Decree, and Czechs are not looked at askance when they walk the streets of Paris, London, Rome, and New York, as if they had done something terrible.

It is ironic to see, that since the 1970 the whole society is getting more conservative. normally a culture is swinging with a period of 30 to 50 between the tendency to liberat individuel or to liberat the society from the individuel. normally we would been in more liberale phase, but i can't recognice it - so the system is changing and this with a faster velocity. the west had need the time of half a generation to change from peaceful state to the state of barbary and total war, see the first world war.

when you speak with right mohammedans, you got to the point, that they believe that their system is better because it is not changing as the western systems - that is one their key analyse, they have a love affair with static systems. they think that is the reason for their superior of the islam, but when see the nature, science and history you came to a quick conclusion, that a system is than stabile over the time, when it can adapt quickly to a new sourrouding.

but when counting the muslims with there own words, the west is an ever changing system, so the key elements don't have changed so much as in the arab world and their mentally too.

we are standing at a point of no return, our surply of oil and gas are going have peaked or will peak in the near future and with their peak our whole ocenomic systems will make a greater thangs and will set the whole social systems under perssure. so we will not know and how fast our polical systems will change in the near future, because the stability, which europe have will end with peak of oil and gas.

another interresting tought is, that the whole europe was locked mentally as long as it was seperated and divided - and not since world war II, but since the france and england had taken money from the new york stock exchange - you can't beleave that the woodron wilson get into war because out of morality, when the whole economic system of a country like usa will be doomed when the german won the war. so with siege about the post world war I area ended.

What has happened since, is the Shia Islamic Revolution in Iran (1979), an event that spurred Saudi Arabia, to maintain its global claim to "Defender of the Faith" status, which they achieved by sending forth Wahhabi imams to staff mosques and madrassahs they have built around the world. who have cultivated a following primarily among the younger generations who are very receptive to their ideology. There has also been a wave of "refugee" Muslims who are nothing Islamists fleeing their countries of origin where their radicalism and violence has rendered them persona non grata, and many of them living on social assistance. (I think the notorious Finsbury Park imam "Hook" Hamza was of that ilk, but could be mistaken.)

So no, I'm not terribly confident that it's a matter of time.

Fjordman's latest excellent article demonstrates that the Islamization of Europe continues with no sign that the elites and media there recognize the enormity of the threat they face. Indeed, my hope that Europe will wise up before it's too late keeps getting smaller and smaller.

It's beyond frustrating to see attack after attack and yet the Infidel nations respond with the usual garbage and platitudes while Muslims in our midst continue to grow and plot our subjugation. Europe may have no one to blame but itself for their Islamization, but the continued inability of our leaders here in the US and in countries victimized by Islam like India to name the enemy isn't helping either.

What's even more disturbing is that in Europe it may well be right wing, racist fascist extremist parties like the BNP and their ilk who lead the fight to preserve Western civilization. It doesn't look like anyone else will. It may well become a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" type of situation over there. Horrible.

The clash of civilizations has begun. Sadly, it's only Islam so far that's doing the clashing and calling the shoots.

Fjordman, I'm your no. 1 fan (as Kathy Bates said to James Caan), I read and re-read your essays, always food for thought - however, I think you should reconsider the use of the word "white," since it may only provide ammo to those trying to make islamoscepticism a racial/racist issue.

I know of a couple of ethnic Danish Mohammedans whose bums I would love to kick while they prostrate on Fridays trying to please their pagan Moon god - white, yes? Biologically speaking, the "white" "race" includes Arabs, Turks, Indians, lots of peoples with brown complexion, making it at best a meaningless term.

Why not just use Muslim vs. non-Muslim, Muslim vs. indidel, etc., since this is what it is all about? Don't make it easier for the dhimmi apologets and the Submissives.

I agree with the above posters. Anybody who is migrating to the West should be doing it with goals of assimilating. It may be somewhat tough for the first generation, but by the 2nd or 3rd generation, there should be no doubts as to what they are. As for multiculturalism, it's one thing to enjoy ones own original ethnic movies, dramas, music and stick to the native food. But none of that should come at the price of pretending that the host country doesn't exist, or doesn't have an unique culture of its own.

Nor should attitudes against the adapted country be tolerated. If one doesn't like it here, one should work on either reforming ones country of origin, or adjusting within it.

After Islam becomes globally supreme, then the end of History and the Last Judgement will come, and then all Muslims will go to eternal Paradise, and all non-Muslims will go to eternal Hell (the pleasure that Muslims will experience in Paradise will be enhanced by their knowledge that their former enemies are being horribly tortured in Hell forever).

In Islam, conquering the world is not merely a matter of real estate or of geopolitical power: it is a matter of preparing Earth for the Last Days and its transfiguration into Paradise.

In Paradise, finally Muslims won't have to jihad anymore: they will be able to relax forever with carnal pleasures and lovely gardens and slaves: each and every Muslim will live like a rich Sultan for eternity, and no more "enemies" will ever threaten them.

Insofar as the materialistic Paradise of Islamic mythology is a "greener pasture", I suppose it is a goal of Jihad: but the point is eschatological, not merely geopolitical.

Well, in that case, if the mosques are supplying the community services, then perhaps there is no need for the authorities to do so.

Time to cut back on the jizya, the job seeking assistance, the housing initiatives and all those grants for ethnic/religious gabfests.

Let the mosques provide all that.

About the only thing the authorities seem to deny is anything resembling accountability on the part of the recipients of largesse.

Fjordman, I read Bruce Bawer's "While Europe Slept" and found some of his revelations almost unbelievable, but your depiction of Europe is very similar to his, maybe even worse. The multicultural movement is definitely a social engineering experiment that originated in the dark minds of the far left, which has honed censorship by intimidation to a fine art. All who dare object to their deconstructionist agenda are labelled racists, bigots, Islamophobes and are often prosecuted under the laws these self-hating annihilators of Western Civilization have enacted to proscribe public dissent. I realize that Europe in general is far more liberal than the United States and the current situation in European cities didn't happen overnight. Brilliant essay Fjordman.

I appreciate your insightful essay about what is really occurring in Europe with the problems associated with Islam in Europe.

Your views are certainly welcome here.

While most Europeans go about their merry way, a whole new society is about to emerge on the European continent.

Incredible changes are already taking place in Europe. Islam is slowly pushing its way into European society. Europeans seem complacent and are not fully aware about the serious consequences that await them.

Declining birth rates among native born Europeans amidst escalating birth rates among Muslim immigrant families will certainly change the face of Europe in the future.

In the past 1900 years, Christianity has played a key role in building up European society. Sadly, many Europeans today are no longer interested in preserving the rich Christian heritage that has inspired so many people throughout the entire world.

Muslims in Europe are seeking to capitalize on Christianity's waning influence in Europe.

I find it appalling that many police agncies in Europe won't go into some Muslim enclaves to protect the European public from rapists, thieves, muggers, murders.

The police motto " To protect and serve " doesn't seem to characterize European police units in defending the overall European public.

I agree, Fjordman, you are a brilliant writer, so don't give anyone the chance of using the 'racist' slur. This is about values, not melanin. I'd almost suggest that you edit former writings to make this totally clear. It's hard to refer my friends to your essays when some of them are not 'white' and could misunderstand your point because of the terminology.

No, the Czechs do not host any significant Muslim community. Prague is a pretty international city (at least 15 percent inhabitants holding foreign passports), but not a multi-culti hellhole.

Most of the approx. 2000 Muslims in Czechia are foreign students who usually return back to their home countries. Then there is a very small group of traitors, eh, convertites. People usually have no problem criticizing Islam in media.

Same goes for Poland, Hungary, Slovakia ...

The reason why we have escaped fate of the Western people is that we compensate our need for low-cost labor by importing Ukrainian workers, who are culturally very close to other Slavic nations. Also, political correctness is not widespread in the middle class.

Many people criticize the Left for kowtowing to Islam. While I am on the Right myself, I must admit that the roots of the European problem with Islam was reckless import of cheap Arab and Turkish workforce, promoted by the economically liberal politicians, who were not able to think about the consequences. Especially the libertarians seem totally blind to me in this matter: as if they believed that just everyone in the world wants to be rich, free and tolerant to their neighbours.

Unfortunately, some cultures prefer being poor in lousy dusty hellholes, even killing their own offspring in futile terrorism, but obeying what they think is a word of god (what kind of god would like their followers to live like that)? This is one of the realizations that have yet to come to the Western collective mind.

I've said it several times lately, and feel this should be on the tip of everyone's tongue and in the front of their minds at all times:
It is not immigration, it is colonization.
That's it in a nutshell. If you are colonizing, you don't feel the need to assimilate. You build more places of worship. Start 'action committees' to try to supercede existing standards, mores and institutions. Show disdain for the locals and natives.
It is colonization. If you get inside a mohammedan's mind, you will no doubt see that they don't consider themselves immigrants. Then this whole crap pile becomes quite clear.
Nuff said.

Thanks for the feedback on the "gentle Czechs" in Prague. I am American, but my father and maternal grandparents were all Czech immigrants (from Moravia). Although I did not appreciate it at the time (being an ignorant and ungrateful kid), the Czech community that we inhabited in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area was a model of decency, healthy family life, civil behavior, and honest work. I hope the Czechs and the other Eastern Europeans can successfully shut out the Islamic onslaught in Europe. Perhaps they will be the ones, like the Hobbits in Tolkien's novel, that will save western civilization.

So if you or some other native english speaker can donate one or two hours of his life to do language corrections for english subtitles for the benefit of all infidels, we can release it in a week or two.

The most consistently irritating thing about the multi-culturalists is that while they are universally whoring out their own countries for third world immigrants to come move to and colonize (and bring their third world problems to --such as human trafficking and pagan practices including Islam), they would NEVER think of extending the same rights to the native-born first-world citizens of their own countries. Would European or US multi-culturalists extend white Europeans or Americans the right to go settle in Guatemala and bring their own cultural heritage and Christian mores with them???????

It's frustrating to see Jihad Watchers persisting in their stubborn, unverified belief that the ordinary Westerner is somehow immune to multiculturalism. Susanp's questions are good on the surface, but they obscure a rhetorical answer that is illogical and goes against the grain of the obvious facts she is so puzzled about.

The apparent truth of the matter is that the vast majority of ordinary people in the West have become PC multiculturalists and they willingly swallow the PC multiculturalist assumptions and agendas of the "elites". Until I see solid evidence to the contrary (which would include at the very least hundreds of thousands of ordinary Westerners anywhere in the West standing organizing mass rallies to protest their "elites"), I will continue to maintain this.

Tolerance of other cultures aka multiculturalism is a creation of Eastern Europeans aka Ashkenazim Jews, who were not assimilating, and did not wish to assimilate and give up their semitic heritage and Judaic laws and customs like halal and haram err I mean kashrut or circumcision...oops that's Islamic also.

Think of the Chasidic, the Lubavitchers, the Naturei Karta in their curly sidelocks, big hats and "distinctive clothing" and then think of the Muslims in their distinctive clothing. Think of the orthodox Jew who doesn't cut a corner of his beard, who makes women sit in the balcony under supervision of the mother of the synagogue and then think of the muslim who doesn't cut his beard and requires women to enter and leave the mosque by a side entrance, concealed by screens from the men.

You can't criticize or correct one, without criticizing and correcting the other.. and no the orthodox Jews don't behead, but that response is a ridiculous argumentum ad absurdum. Point is that "multiculturalism" is a creation by Jews to protect the Jews, and now Dr. Frankensteins creation is devouring his master and the master complains.

O.K., the appearance of Muslim ghettos in Europe is disturbing for those who have up to now believed that Muslims would adopt basic European values, preserving only their colorful nonthreatening "multicultural" customs like eating halal meat. But assuming that they will not be assimilated, are ghettos necessarily a bad thing? It strikes me that a Europe peppered with isolated Muslim enclaves might be one of the best plausible outcomes of the current crisis. Such enclaves would usually not pose a military threat to the host territory, but would themselves be militarily vulnerable. (Theodore Dalrymple pointed out in his "Barbarians at the Gates" article a few years ago that the Muslim banlieux surrounding Paris were a potential military menace. But on the whole I imagine this is not the case for the Muslim areas in Europe, simply because they are non-contiguous.) The ghettos would also be economically highly dependent on the surrounding countries. Thus they would be at the mercy of the European governments, once it entered the heads of these governments to exert economic pressure on the Muslims, rather than keep them supplied with unconditional welfare benefits.

I agree. It's almost worse: not 'multiculturalist' but anti-western culturalist. The general population has swallowed the idea that western culture is not worth studying, protecting, practising. Some even seem to believe that the west has only a violent history of colonisation, and today offers only fast food, trashy movies and drugs! Then islamists slam 'western culture' for those elements and seem to get support from liberal media. It's so frustrating!

I see this in classical music. In NZ the majority of serious music students are Asian immigrants (Chinese and Korean). They are often wonderful musicians and have a much greater appreciation of classical music than most Pakeha (European origin) kids of a similar age. Thank God for these Asian students, rescuing western music from careless westerners!!

In NZ there is also the big colonial-guilt thing. The undercurrent in the liberal media is that we shouldn't really be here, that we almost destroyed Maori and Pacific Island culture, and that Pakeha artists and composers should constantly reflect Maori and Pacific Island elements in their creations. I'm not denying that those cultures were almost destroyed (though Maori has had a wonderful revival), but everyone seems to forget that European historical values and cultures have a lot to offer too.

Can anyone please tell me that there is some hope, from all I read on these sites (which I think are fantastic) is that Muslims seem to be winning,, our governments seem to have their eyes closed and if they dont they seem to just appease them... I am feeling so dispondent now as no where there seems to be a win win situation for us... I dont want my grandchildren wearing the burka... I dont want them worshiping a moon god...but it seems that the media and our leaders do...
Is there any media out lets in the world which are awake to Islams take over, are their any governments who are awake and are doing something about it,, is their any governents who are making muslims leave the country... Mohammad was a very clever man, he knew that by being a religion that they would be more likely to be excepted every where, and his religion/army could march through any country taking out who he willed...
Please someone give me some hope so as I can have the energy to keep fighting against them..Mohammad said that he terrorised the people first to weaken them..

As an analogy to your catalogue of cultural similarities between Muslims and Orthodox Jews, consider two individuals, Peter and John, who both share OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder):

Both Peter and John are compelled to go through meticulous rituals every day.

Peter has to comb his hair 531 times every morning, and brush the surface of each tooth exactly 23 times, and count his steps from the front door to his car to make sure the number is the same every morning etc.

John has very similar OCD habits and rituals every day.

We broaden our focus out from the OCD behaviors to other aspects of their lives:

Peter has a regular job which he has been working at for over 15 years; he has a wife and a child, is paying the mortgage for a home; is, in short a fairly productive and law-abiding person whose personal relationships are not unduly compromised by his neurosis.

John, on the other hand, has become so obsessed with his rituals that they have undermined his ability to keep a regular job, causing financial stress on him which, along with the neurotic behaviors themselves, have alienated his wife and caused a divorce with child custody battles, etc.

Peter and John share the same OCD diagnosis, on the surface: but the one is able to function in society decently and provide meaningful and helpful relationships with other people; the other is on the road to some kind of breakdown or deterioration and is having deleterious effects on the people around him.

Further investigation uncovers the fact that Peter has come from a family that has values that have mitigated his OCD, while John comes from a family that has deformative influences that actually have nourished the destructive and self-destructive aspects of his OCD.

Moral: Orthodox Jews (and, e.g., certain types of Hindus and Buddhists and Christians) may engage in ritualistic nonsense that superficially resembles Islamic behaviors, but their obvious ability to integrate themselves in a healthy and productive fashion into societies and cultures other than their own shows they are better than Muslims and that furthermore their respective subcultures are better because they obviously inculcate and nourish that healthy attitude that allows them to integrate better. By contrast, the grotesque fruits of Islamic culture are sufficiently numerous to demonstrate that the culture itself has sick roots -- and one manifestation of this is in its pathological intensification of the OCD rituals and an inculcation of connecting those OCD rituals in with the unhealthy aspects of their broader culture.

Rather than an argumentum ad absurdum, I would say that adverting to the grotesque fruits of Islamic culture is quite pertinent.

I agree that multiculturalism masks a simple anti-Western attitude. Behind all this, though, there is an assumption which is obscured and often is avoided, even by people who don't like multiculturalism: When we are defending the West, we also cannot -- if we think it through -- avoid defending the classical Western epiphany:

The West is superior to all other civilizations.

[Note: the word "superior" does not mean "perfect", nor does it imply that non-Western cultures do not have wonderful aspects of their own. What the word "superior" does do is establish a refusal to reduce all distinctions and degrees to an undifferentiated mush, and a refusal to recognize better and worse, and to recognize the manifest signs of systems that are better and worse.]

To the extent that even an anti-multiculturalist would have a difficult time boldly and proudly iterating that the West is superior to all other civilizations, one would conclude that he or she would is to an extent infected with the multiculturalist disease.

Memo to Nariz: The fact that eastern Europe isn't and never really was multi-cultural (and in fact is a part of the world which is generally opposed to the introduction of multi-culturalism) would indicate that multi-culturalism did NOT originate there. If it had, it would have been more successful there. No one would ever have looked to eastern Europe for a model of multi-culturalism--it's not there. Even the diverse Balkan region is full of ethnicities at close proximity that loathe each other and massacre each other periodically. The Balkan region provides a good illustration of the dangers of anything resembling multiculturalism and for avoiding the introduction of it anywhere.

The emergence of multi-culturalism parallels the growth of the socialist movement in the western democracies in recent decades and therefore it most likely has its origins in the factors that gave rise to that.

I agree with almost everything Television wrote, but must say here that while this attitude is widespread, it is not always so simple. I live here on the West coast of California, right next to Berkeley. This may be the Multi-culti center of the universe. There *are* a frighteningly large number of people here who just *hate* everything about the West, from George Bush to the Constitution to the Enlightenment, and it is easy to stand against this--it is repugnant and dangerous.

However, there are I think many more people who just regard being "multicultural" as being anti-racist or appreciating a good Thai or Ethiopean restaurant. Often these people are well-meaning but extremely naive, and have not really thought the whole concept of "Multiculturalism" through to its "logical" conclusion.
