Jan Marijnissen has immediately become a leading contender for the Witless Moral Equivalency Award of 2006. Of course, the Left's delusion that jihad terrorists are the new heroic anti-fascist vanguard is nothing new; Marijnissen is no doubt completely clueless about just how uncomfortable he would be in the dream society that his new heroes are longing to establish. This is because he is, like almost everyone else on the Left and the Right, focusing on terrorism rather than jihad, and thus completely ignoring the motives and goals of those he has anointed the new Resistance.
"SP Leader Compares Islam Terrorism To Nazi Resistance," from NIS News Bulletin, with thanks to Ummah News Links:
THE HAGUE, 22/07/06 - Socialist Party (SP) leader Jan Marijnissen has suggested that Islam terrorism may be compared to resistance against the Nazis during World War II. "Terrorism occurs in all times and places and its objective is usually to make things as unpleasant as possible for the occupier", he says in an interview for Penthouse magazine."During World War II, Dutch people thwarted nazi Germany's destruction machine by blowing up town halls, because this was where the Jews were registered. Things are not all that different in the Middle East. Islamic fundamentalism, including the terrorist wing, is a reaction to Israel's occupation of Palestine, to America's presence in the Middle East and to the West's support of undemocratic regimes in the Middle East."
If Marijnissen had to choose he would rather see Iran build up a nuclear arsenal than US military intervention in that country.
So many people in high places believe that "Islamic fundamentalism" is a reaction to various factors. Yet before all those factors existed, jihad terror existed. But of course, they have no idea of that.

Look at the bright side. If the ummah takes power in European nations, just as happened after the Iranian Revolution, they will first put the socialists up against the wall.
Nothing has shown socialism to be an excuse for violence and anarchy like their fast "friendship" with medieval theocrats willing to do the dirty work. Socialists don't have the stones for Baader-Meinhof attacks any more. But they love anyone who does.

Like so many do, Jan Marijnissen probably gains all his knowledge from CNN.
And as we all know, the media never talks about the true source and inspiration for terrorism, the Quran, and the Hadiths'. When is the last time you saw CNN pull out a copy of the Quran and read the surahs that are the spiritual guides for the jihadists and their acts of terrorism perpetrated against non-muslims.
I am betting never on that one.
That is why it is so refreshing to have Robert Spencer's Jihadwatch as a source of knowledge and insight into what drives the fundamental islamic mindset to commit terrorist acts all over the world.
Maybe Jan Marijnissen could go to Alaska and try to understand the way grizzly bears think like another adventurer did a few years ago.

"Terrorism occurs in all times and places and its objective is usually to make things as unpleasant as possible for the occupier",
I would love to see the look on his face when he realizes one day in the future, that the problem with the native Dutch, from the Muslim perspective, is that they're occupying Holland.

"Surely it is immoral to deny countries their right to nuclear energy when you own nuclear weapons yourself!?"
Excuse me, but this mans logic is defies reason. compairing nuclear energy to a nuclear bomb is like compairing a side of beef to an orange. Yes, they are both food but the comparison stops there. Nuclear energy and a nuclear bomb are both nuclear but the comparison stops there. Japan has 55 nuclear reactors generating electricity, BUT not one nuclear bomb! If Iran wants 1000 nuclear reactors to produce energy, so what. If Iran wants just 1 nuclear bomb the WORLD better care!

Here's to the Socialist Party taking it in the shorts in next election cycle. I think (hope) people are waking up. Thank you Hezbollah.

Jan Marijnissen, and his idiotic statements, represent total intellectual collapse. And this ain't the usual semi-harmless mind-flop down at the local prestigious private college, this is the big time, as in nation-loss dumbass intellectual collapse. Let's bring in the EU to ritualize this collapse. I want Kofi Anan and his crook son to overlord this ceremony. Just to demonstrate requisite respect.
And where is that Dutch Dude the scientist of the Governmental Sciences Bureau nowadays? He was so Soviet to me. I miss him. He was real funny. And influential.

So, basically Jan Marijnissen equates Israeli's with Nazi's. No surprise here, I guess. The thing that worries me is that this is being said by someone who is generally regarded by the voting public as a charming and reasonable individual.
Interesting to know that his party, according to the latest polls, is set to almost double it's seats in parliament at the upcoming elections in November, from 6% to 11% of the vote. He might even get a shot at government participation.
And don't think that what he said will influence those numbers. The Dutch are to comfortable with antisemitism for that to affect their vote.
This, and other parties on the left, is what is currently presented as the alternative to today's dhimmi government of Balkenende.

When I read the first line, I thought that this was some SP leader from India talking. We have a Samajwadi Party over here. Samajwadi literally means 'Socialistic'. And they go to any extent to court muslim votes. All of them are corrupt to the core, howling 'Secularism', a word they use for 'multiculturism' that is used in the West. Seems to me all socialist parties around the world love islam.

SAVE IRANIAN CHRISTIAN REZA MANIPOUR ABRI !!
The life of the iranian Reza Manipour Abri is endangered. He is about to be deported from Germany to Iran, despite him being a devote christian and so being free to be killed by any Muslim who would not have to expect prosecution.
Abri (30) lives since the end of 1997 in the district of Mittelfranken in Germany. Already twice his request for asylum at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has been denied. On July 26th (11:00 local time) the legal court of Ansbach will try his case, but he can already be deported right now. At the first trial in 2003 the court forwarded the viewpoint Abri would be safe in Iran as long as he would not emphasise his christianity and behaved himself low key.
Already in 1995 after Abri contacted Christiana in Iran and became himself a Christian, he was under arrest for several months and has also been subject to torture. After his release from prison he succeeded to flee the country.
Would his return to Iran become officially know he would no doubt be arrested again und put under pressure. After the in 1981 empowered iranian "islam law for retaliation" anyone who "insults the prophet" or becomes an apostate can be punished by death.
After an official report by Hans-Juergen Kutzner of the evangelical-lutherian church of Hanover, any muslim can kill an apostate without having to fear any form of punishment. At the end of 2005 the from Islam converted free christian priest Ghorban Thori was kidnapped and stabbed to death in the iranian town of Gonbad-e-Kavus.
Only very recently the iranian apostate Ali Kaboli was arrested for illegal christian meetings and apostasy from Islam. Before that he was subject to travel limitations, interogations, death threats, and a poison attack.
The freelance priest Hamid Pourmand, who was a major in the iranian armay, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment by a military court for "deseiving the fighting forces".
The manageress of the german section of "Christian Solidarity International", Ingrid Seigis, reminds about the case of Abdul Rahman. Rahman had become a Christian and lived nine years in Germany. Upon his return to Afghanistan he has been sentenced to death. Only the protests of the international community in March 2006 moved the Afghan court to cancel the case and declare Rahman "mentally ill".
"Shall there be now a second Abdul Rahman case?", askes Seigis.

If the Dutch continue to vote people into office like Jan Marijnissen and others with that liberal elitist attitude, it's hard to feel sorry for them.... They reap what they sow...

Just saw a foxy Moslima on CNN, sunwashed in the glimmering safe port of Cyprus. She had it all figured out, saying "...this is must about killing the innocent people of Lebanon, this is just about killing those people who have nothing to do with Hizbullah."

You tolerate them amongst you, they are you. They were you from the first offload, they were you, they are you. Enough withe the bullsheet. I saw the IRA in action and know how a neighborhood works.
IDF, where do I sign up?

"Because of your tolerance, we will invade you.
Because of our religion, we will dominate you!"
Can anybody source this? I'd heard that it came from a British Islamic cleric.
In any event, tolerance means accepting an erroneous person while rejecting erroneous doctrine. The New Tolerance is a moral equivalence of accepting an erroneous doctrine as true, as the sine qua non of accepting the person. When error is raised to equally true, then exalted as superior, you have the complete transvaluation of values!

Maybe Jan Marijnissen should have heard about Reinhard Heydrich, he led a movement of murderous thugs who terrorised the countries they occupied.
They thought that by making the people afraid of them they would be assured of peaceful compliance...
Reinhard Heydrich was wrong, maybe Jan Marijnissen is wrong too.

Picking up from Ragfish
"Because of your tolerance, we will invade you.
Because of our religion, we will dominate you!"
Let the traitorous rats who speak for Islamism in the UK be given a prime time platform every night of the week.
They are welcome to feel they can exploit our tolerance.
The Brits aint soft and tolerance of Islam is running out quick - slow - but the tide has turned.
Try and dominate!
The snide cowards, from their wishing they were at our throats rhetoric, will be at out feet pretty quick.
Look no further for an example than the “Lion ("Britain...Please!!!.....get me out!!!") of Lebanon”, the one and only - lets have a great big hoot of derision and ridicule for......Omar Bakri Mohammad.
Also take no notice of Jan Marijnissen - the Dutch Dijkhead - he does not represent the nation, just the idiot, delude and detached part of it.

Ragfish - FWIW - I recall that quote you're referring to but this is all I could find for now:
http://www.meforum.org/article/448
It doesn't give the source but it does refine the wording of the quote:
"Thanks to your democratic laws we will invade you; thanks to our religious laws we will dominate you."

Considering that CNN is just one more of the unofficial organs and voices of the RNC and Bush Administration, up there with MSNBC, Saudi Owned Fox, Washington Post, I doubt that a Socialist would be relying on Bushbots and their mouthpieces for information.

Nariz - that's just what you think. In the Netherlands province of Groningen a curious episode unfolded around June of 2003. Some leftwing Dutch, who as members of a programming council get to advise on which TV stations are relayed through the Dutch cable network, decided that CNN and the BBC had to go as they were mere mouthpieces of the neocons. Utter drivel of course as a quick look through the archives of the Biased BBC blog will show. I was hopeful they would succeed in their endeavour as this would remove the left-orientated CNN and BBC from the Dutch cable network in Groningen. Unfortunately the ploy didn't work. But it did go to show how easily the left could shoot itself in the foot, blinded as they were by their own preconceptions. Any guesses as to which party those guys on the programming council advisory board voted.

A storm of protest has forced little Jan to nuance his opinion on his weblog. But despite the damage limitation exercise it is clear that it is going to cost him votes anyway.
