Honor killing in Canada

Honor killing comes to the North American continent. Alas, there will be many more. "Brother suspect in killing," from the Ottawa Sun, with thanks to Steve:

DISBELIEF FELL over an Ottawa intensive care unit yesterday when police announced they were hunting the brother of a young woman who was shot to death at an east-end mall.

Ottawa police said last night they considered Khatera Sadiqi's 20-year-old brother, Hasibullah Sadiqi, a suspect in the shooting that killed the 20-year-old woman early Tuesday morning.

Police said Hasibullah Sadiqi should be considered armed and dangerous. Along with a picture, they released a description of the type of car the suspect drives -- a grey, two-door 1992 Mazda 323.

This morning police said they are trying to reach out to Afghan communities outside the Ottawa area in an effort to find Sadiqi.

The shocked and tired look on Hameed Mangal's face yesterday spoke volumes for the dozens of family and friends who poured into the Civic campus of the Ottawa Hospital to comfort him and his family. His brother, 23-year-old Feroz Mangal, was in a coma after being shot with the same gun that killed Khatera Sadiqi.

Feroz Mangal and Khatera Sadiqi had been engaged for about six months before a shooter pulled up to Mangal's Honda just before 1 a.m. Tuesday at Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre and riddled the inside with bullets.

MULTIPLE SHOTS

Sadiqi, who was in the driver's seat, was killed when a bullet struck her head. Despite taking multiple shots to his body, including his neck, Mangal survived but was still in critical condition last night.

Const. Steve Desjourdy said detectives have been conducting numerous interviews and investigators were able to identify a suspect.

Detectives are "looking at everything" when it comes to possible motives for wanting to kill the young couple, Desjourdy said. Police are also awaiting official results from ballistics and an autopsy, he said.

Speculation about why police consider Hasibullah Sadiqi a suspect began to snowball yesterday, but some people said the local Afghan community has been talking about the couple's upcoming marriage.

Hameed Mangal said he heard Hasibullah Sadiqi had issues with the relationship.

"He wasn't happy because they were engaged," Hameed, 24, said.

The possibility of Khatera Sadiqi's death being related to an honour killing baffled Hameed as he tried to relax in the hospital's emergency room last night.

It's amazing how Muslims are allowed to live their religion and its rituals in democratic countries. And how lenient the authorities are when it comes to their customs (some of them barbarous, like the honor killings)

This is in clear contrast to the way Christians are treated in Muslim countries:

No contrast is more stark!

In any Islam related crime we have this mystified search for a motive.

I can't help but imagine this search looking like a bunch of detectives sitting at the local donut shop, saying absolutly nothing and staring past each other into the distant vending machine.
Once galvanized into action, the search probably involves looking deeply into the coffee, checking out the consistency of the jam and counting the crumbs on the table. Only once enough evidence has been allowed to get away can the case be closed as a simple case of robbery or accidental shooting as the gun was being cleaned.

The report then reads "Man shot woman".

Well, of course the “M” word is never mentioned.

By the way, there are some Muslim apologists who defend Islam saying that honour killing is not an Islamic obligation. Does anybody have good counterpoints for that?

"He wasn't happy..."

Well, who is? Deal with it. The whole world exists just to make sure that this dumb bastard is 'happy'? If and when he isn't happy, he gets to shoot anyone he wishs?

I should say 'when' rather than 'if', as life is long enough that eventually we all will be unhappy at some point. His sister is hooking up with some guy and dumb bastard can't deal with that reality.

Too bad. The shooter probably had a promising legal career ahead of him.

DISBELIEF?

"He wasn't happy because they were engaged," Hameed, 24, said.....................

Was brother unhappy to lose his incestual sex partner or just upset because the fiance wasn't family and their family tree might fork?

The brother sounds more like a jilted lover.

Sharia-coming to a Western country near you.

Any known honor killings on U.S. soil yet? It has to be only a matter of time.....

"Hameed Mangal said he heard Hasibullah Sadiqi had issues with the relationship."

Issues? interesting use of psychobabble employed as taqquia.

Locking up the entire family is the only deterrent that works. Youngest sons are usually chosen to carry out the act in western countries on the calculation that they will still be old enough to breed when they come out of jail.

Here is a PERFECT example of why ALL civilized nations are shirking their responsibilities presently by not outlawing Islam on their territories. Islam PRACTICES FIRST DEGREE MURDER. THAT IS A BETRAYAL OF CIVILIZATION!!!

And any of us could very well be murdered for attempting to defend ourselves from these people by daring to say anything about this practice of Islam's moving into our homeland.

MP, an honor killing took place in St. Louis, MO
in the mid '80's.

Palestinian terrorist ring leader, Zein Issa murdered his teenage daughter Tina when she dated a black boy.

Guarding The Secrets: Palestinian Terrorism and a Father's Murder of His Too-American Daughter by Ellen Harris is a facinating books about this incident.

The religion of peace. My hairy red white and blue ass. And Mohammed and all the other muslims can lick it. "Assyougottalickem".

MP,

About 4 or 5 years ago, in Indiana I think, a Pakistani killed his four year old daughter after she had been molested by his brother. The police had taken her to a hospital for a physical exam. Apparently, that offended his sense of honor.

The story was reported here.

"TROP can chalk this one on the list as Canada's first terorist attack after 9-11."

I only wish. There have been many more than this one. One here where I live was a cab driver killed because his family were trying to start a breakawy mosque. He was called to pick up a fare, and a few hours later was found in that neighbourhood with his throat slashed. In front of the original imam's home. So naturally, after the imama's family reported seeing a white male driving a new Lexus, the police went chasing merrily after a rich white racist. Finally, when the true suspects were caught, the local paper downplayed it into an ongoing family feud continuing from the city where all had previously lived in the Middle East. Because, you know, Islam had nothing to do with that.

Then, there was the young woman in my neighbourhood who, running from her brothers and father who were chasing her for some strange reason, fell into the street and was killed by a passing motorist. The front page showed a grieving family, and the father was especially upset at the "...loss of my flower, my precious gem...". Of course, when her girlfriends mentioned that she was dating a non-Muslim boy, they were roundly ignored.
