UK: Police to brief Muslims before terror raids

How will the police be sure that the Muslim leaders to whom they are giving this information will not do anything to compromise their raid? "Police to brief Muslims before terror raids," from the TimesOnline, with thanks to all who sent this in:

POLICE have agreed to consult a panel of Muslim leaders before mounting counter-terrorist raids or arrests. Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid.

Members will be security vetted and will have to promise not to reveal any intelligence they are shown. They will not have to sign the Official Secrets Act.

Oh, good, they'll promise.

The first panel, expected to consist of four people, will be set up initially in London. Tomorrow representatives from police forces across England and Wales will decide whether to make the scheme national.

Muslim groups have welcomed the move, which is understood to be backed by Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan police commissioner.

This week the Association of Chief Police Officers will discuss with MI5 and the Home Office whether to reveal to the panel intelligence information from the security service....

What if any of those leaders are the targets of those raids?

This is a very unsatisfactory compromise and further proof that the UK police are nothing more than pussies.

UK has lost the will to survive as a free people!

They have surrendered to Islam.

Maybe they will get better dental care under Islam .Their big on that miswak thing

Posted by: KAOSKTRL [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 8:52 PM

What do you call it, if in a war someone passes information to the enemy? High treason?

Posted by: Canis Lupus [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 8:53 PM

Please, please.

Remember, we're fighting the war on terrorism, not the Islamic War. Definitionally, it's only reasonable that we would brief the leaders of the local highjacked majority of one of the world's great religions before making a defensive military operation against their potentially deeply offended and oh-so-sensitive "community" whatever that is.

Is this a joke?
Please tell me this is a joke??

Posted by: EnglishBlondie [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 9:03 PM

England is simply smoothing out bumps in the road to societal extinction, no big deal. If they treat muslims good now, perhaps they will reciprocate after the takeover. Its simple, really. Stupid, but simple.

Six months from now, the police wont be allowed to arrest muslims for anything.

You think the muezzin will use Big Ben to call the faithful to prayer and do you wear your raincoat over the keffiya or under?

Lordy, Im going to miss Boddingtons™.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Funny beyond belief.

Oh wait,Israel did drop warning leaflets in Lebanon before bombing suspected Hezbollah positions, didn't it?

Will someone please wake me up from this crazy dream already? I can't stand it much longer!!!!!!!!!

"Members of the panel will offer their assessment of whether information police have on a suspect is too flimsy and will also consider the consequences on community relations of a raid."
So, the more violent a community is, the more likely that community can prevent a raid? Is that what this means? I don't understand. Surely whether to raid/arrest is dependent on the evidence, and not dependent upon the level of possible reaction from a community? Or else the most violent will get away with the most crime/terrorism?
Why does this panel have the ability to assess intelligence? Is that not the job of our judges and police? Have we handed over judiciary powers to Muslims?
This must be a joke story.

Now I know why the Dieppe Raid of August '42 was such a disaster. The Brits must have advised the Germans in advance. But the British Generals were smart, they used mostly Canadian troops instead of British

This is a joke isn't it?Wait, it's September 24th, not April lst.

Shakes head, hangs head, moans, sobs..most of you posters still have a choice, not to bring any more dhimmi's into the world, but I've done the bad deed.
I have 15 living descendants, including great grand children, shakes head, moans, sobs..what I have I done.

It's not a dream; it's a nightmare.

Posted by: Pelayo [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 9:34 PM

Yes, this indeed is a nightmare. This development of pre-warning the enemy before attacking isn't really surprising. Nowadays military leaders take great pains to avoid collateral damage and inflicting maximum casualties on enemy combatants. I really wonder if there is a war on terror anymore with this insanity passing for tactics. Maybe it would be easier to just sit back and let the Islamaniacs sweep through the West and do what they will.

Posted by: ISLAMSFORLOSERS [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 9:54 PM

Those Brits have, or will soon have, a lot of company.

We may as well start reading up on the Koran so we can at least be well versed in the cult of our future masters.

Posted by: ISLAMSFORLOSERS [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 10:03 PM

I seem to remember when the brits weren't so sensitive. I'm sure that this new advance will keep the number of terrorists arrested down. Thus we will se a more orderly England.....NOT.

One of the things that will happen is this reliance on the "panel" will show that they are in collusion with the terrorists because they are Muslims. This will be a rude shock to the British however. It will take a long time for them to figure that out.

Posted by: credit man [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 10:29 PM

To use a World War II analogy, are the Brits talking to the Resistance or the Vichy and how do they know the difference? I hope they are brilliant enough to use this panel to garner intelligence and to disseminate misinformation—but that's hoping for too much.

I do hope they cut my head off cleanly with one stroke...
...perhaps they could do it on Easter...
...I hope it's not raining...

Don't forget that the 'Decider' has just recently stated that "if its a war against Islam we have lost already..."

Posted by: sheik yer'mami [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 10:47 PM

Hay guys, let's tell the terrorists what we're doing so we can't catch them! If we can't catch them, then they probably don't exist! Win-win!

Nariz, your runaway train, Leftism, is partly responsible for this insanity.

Posted by: remote_control [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 11:05 PM

I hope they are useing this as a way to get rid of sympathizers by looking for leaks.

I hope they only use this for the above purpose so the Clerics don't discove patterns that could give away investigational edge.

Seems stupid when fighting a sworn Enemy bent on Killing you or sending you to Hell thru conversion.

muslims constitute around 3% of the total population of UK. What is the UK going to look like when this reaches 13-15 % ?
(holds head in hands)

Posted by: arjun.sevak [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 11:48 PM

This change will surely allow Islamic terrorists to slip through the cracks and escape from the British police.

Posted by: Johnathan [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 24, 2006 11:58 PM

That is not very smart at all. Imagine if the FBI decided to discuss their plans with Mafia leaders before raiding local crime bosses. That is insanity. I am personally sorry for all those living in the United Kingdom under such idiots.

Posted by: Monkeywho [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 12:19 AM

Underlying this suicidal arrangement is the fantastic assumption that Unicorns (i.e., Moderate Moslems) can actually exist and do in fact exist. Of which of course there is zero evidence, but when one approaches suicide logic frequently does not apply.

The Brits are no stupider than anybody else. You see the same stupidity in Ottawa, Sydney, Wellington, Canberra, Washington, Paris, Bruxelles, Stockholm, and other capitals.

This is a Kabuki Play, a suicide dance.

Self-loathing carries an extremely steep price, the ultimate price. And so here we go, into Sharia misery.

Posted by: Alarmed Pig Farmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 12:28 AM

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Total stupidity. Are they going to start passing out the razor blades?

Has the Queen commented on this? Is she cringing in her castles? She may need to hide her jewels. The muslim masses may take them over next.

Actually the raid was the screw up of Admiral Mountbatten. A British General, you will have heard of, Montgomery, looked at the plans and reccommended the raid be postponed - Forever!

Off thread but I worked with a guy who who was in the Navy in WW2. He said they thought Mountbatten was crazy and no sane man would serve in his ship by choice.

Come to think of it Mountbatten was about as crazy as this idea.

Assalamau Laikuma all,

Come now peoples...surely you know the British ruled over India for 300 years showing this type of kindness and sensitivity to the locals.

The locals are of low IQ (as Fedup keeps saying)
and will not understand (or block or inform)the nature of these terrorist raids, so you have nothing to fear.

The local's only obbsessive preoccupation will be that innocents are not harmed...so it will be a little like this scenario below.

Police "We will be raiding the house of Ali Baba in Windsor next week. Just though we ask you if that's OK?"

Muslim "Well what evidence do you have against Mt Baba?"

Police "Well that's kind confidential... and it may put our stakeout teams at risk".

Muslim "Come now inspector....we are in this together...do remember that meeting where the minister was present...all information will be shared...remember".

Police "Ah...OK! well here is the file, you can take it home...but please don't show the wife or the kids...and don't share it with anyone especially Mr. Baba...my men have spent weeks putting this evidence together".

Muslim "Oh ine-spector you worry too much, I will read overnite..and you shall have back tomorrow".

And the next morning Muslim "Here is file back...sorry about the curry stain...little accident..you know.... and I took liberty of photocopying one or 2 pages...hope you don't mind".

Police "Ah no...but you can see the overwhelming evidence...so do we proceed next week as normal?".

Muslim Well...no I don't think so...you see I had your collegue show me Mr. Baba's personal profile and bank details ...no extra monies have come in, I think he is an outstanding member of the community...always donating to charity you know..ha ha!...then with a serious face "you cannot make this raid inspector...I shall be speaking to minister today...you have the wrong persons here".

So there we go...the police had the wrong man and an innocent person could have been harmed....and the relations between the police and us muslims is now so much better.....as to Mr. Baba's whereabouts...nobody knows where he is.

Posted by: Naseem [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 5:18 AM

It is not often that I agree with nasseem. I believe the scenario painted by nasseem is close to what will actually happen.
Something needs to be done in UK to reverse this trend and soon.

Posted by: RecoveringPig [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 6:49 AM

This news made my stomach lurch. The naivety of the security services in the UK is even more profound than I thought.

I hope a leak can be traced to one of these panels so that their complicity is finally established.

Posted by: Malta_1565 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 7:05 AM

Arjun, that picture of Prince William, England's future king, sums up Britain nicely.

Ridiculous, naive and feminized.

Posted by: August22 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 7:43 AM

Heads will roll.... then police heads will roll ... then the politician's heads will roll.

More British people will be killed when the fruits of this fruity policy come to ripen.

What the hell is wrong with us? What's it going to take? We're going to have to have something on the order of Hiroshima to finally understand the nature of it all. Good god, I hope it doesn't happen to London, but that would be my first guess. Before New York, I bet.

Posted by: A_Plague_on_Both_Houses [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 12:42 PM

Why not just pass along the keys to Buckingham Palace, 10 Downing Street, Parliament and the Tower of London while they're at it?

Posted by: eve_anne_gelical [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 2:18 PM

Apparently there are plans to build a mosque that can hold 40,000 in East London (with th poassibility that it may be even bigger - large enough for 70,000). All of this will be financed by Saudi money under the auspices of an Islamic organisation that has been associated with "radicalisation" in the past. Imagine that lot emerging en masse, after being fired up at Friday prayers. At the very least, any non-Muslims living nearby will be forced to admit:"There went the neighbourhood!"

Posted by: wallyUK [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 2:32 PM

Sorry if last post was a bit OTP but it shows the insanity that currently seems to be gripping this country.

Posted by: wallyUK [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 2:38 PM

I dont know if i should laugh or cry at how idiotic my country is.

This is why so many brits just want to move out and leave the country it doesnt seem like home at all anymore. Its a joke.

The other day there was a link to a news story posted by Engllish Blondie about a WWII veteran who had been beaten to a pulp by some of these Islam thugs. I wonder how something like that makes the police feel. It's too bad they have their hands tied with this p.c. junk in every way.

Posted by: pigtails not veils [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 25, 2006 8:45 PM

Just as I thought, our leaders as yet havent read the last three quarters of the Quran and many of their other books... if they did they would see that Muslims are allowed to lie to the infidel for the cause of Allah... The Quran is very very clear, they are to take the world for Allah, slaughter all who resist...

Posted by: Gaye [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 26, 2006 9:12 AM

How stupid are we? I don't think we've fit the full absurdity of it yet. Every day there's another thing that I have to wonder about. What is it going to take for God's sake?

Posted by: A_Plague_on_Both_Houses [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 26, 2006 10:49 AM

As I've stated here many times before, I have absolutely no remorse for the Brits, but I do have regrets for the rest of Europe. The Brits are one of the key architects of their own and Europe's eventual demise.

The Brits have sided with the Ottoman Turks in many of her wars, many British leaders have been given war medals for service in the Ottoman wars, and now the Brits have brought the world political correctness.

All of these political correct ideas have flowed out of Great Britain this last century by socialist sympathizers. This disease was spread to the rest of the world and has infiltrated every institution known to man. As a result we have stopped believing in anything, and have allowed concessions on our cultures which took thousands of years to develop, and have systematically torn them down.

As a result, we have removed prayer from schools, removed religious symbols from our schools, and have given up everything we stand for to appease those who come to us for help, and a better way of life.

This is what the Brits embraced and spread to all of us, it may have been a kind heart that attempted this, but it was also a faulty mind that carried forth to what it has become.

The Brits have spearheaded the traitorous movement of allowing the Turks into Europe, and they were the ones who have as a result lost the battle first. I hate to say it, but that country has officially committed suicide and it is now a matter of time before we see her official collapse.

Britain had a great history, not all of which I can respect, but she did have lots of achievements that we should all respect, and in that way this is a catastrophic shame. The Islamists will eventually erase any memory of the achievements of Britain.

R.I.P. Britain you have officially written your eulogy. I hope surrender works out for you.

Before we all rush to condemn Britain to the Khalifate, let's just remember a few things.

1. The British Army is a major contributor in Afghanistan and Iraq, and many brave British lads are dying while their "fellow europeans" are either too frightened to join the fight, or are making anti-Nato, anti-American capital out of not reinforcing Nato forces. As a country, we are actively at war with the jihadists. We are rubbing them out as I type.

2. The British Army has always been a "country unto itself" and so little reflects the PC leftist agenda that has crept into the higher echelons of the British police. Ian Blair, for instance, is a callow and disgraceful defeatist (which comes with his political leanings) who should have been sacked many times over - and that's not counting the tube station execution. We have been "lucky" in that Tony Blair has shared the same vision as Bush, and nothing really comes between the PM's decision making, and the deployment of British forces.

3. The political persuasion of the top ranking police in Britian is all to do with the Labour government. When Labour got in to power, the flood barriers were lifted, and all the people who really shouldn't get into positions of power got into positions of power. I believe that the British people are naturally conservative. For instance, the majority of the English voted for the Conservatives at the last election. However, the electoral set up has favoured Labour. Most people in Britain absolutely abhore and are horrified by how denuded the police have become, and how they routinely make themselves ridiculous. Hopefully, the Tories will get in next time, and things will change for the better (especially if they get rid of the Boy Twit as leader).
