The company I work for must be ahead of the curve and makes me proud. They have been filtering YouTube for months now. I asked IT why and they said because of the porno.

Also when you flag them, it will ask fpor a reason. If it is jihadist you might be able to choose "Graphic Violence" but usually you can safely choose "Racially or Ethnically Offensive Content"

Is YouTube a company? Does it need an audience? Is it subject to commercial pressures? If it carries advertising, could one make known that one will go out of its way not to frequent those who advertise at YouTube until this kind of political censorship, dangerous to everyone, stops? How can pressure be brought to bear?

And is the technology proprietary or can others invent, and present, around whatever YouTube offers?

They are a startup. They have a huge audience, working on 'monetizing' it and of course going public.

At one point, the voice-over calls out:

This is how it winds up. I don't know what it means:

Maybe a secondary reason is business. Perhaps the anti-jihad videos are proving too popular and using up so much bandwidth that hosting them becomes them economically unviable. Just speculation (and some wishful thinking).
