"The lives of women" -- as well as those of non-Muslims "in Iraqi society have worsened dramatically since the US-led invasion of March 2003, amid a general break down in law and order and the rise of conservative Islamist militias."
"Women's rights champion murdered," from AFP, with thanks to Morgaan Sinclair and PRCS:
GUNMEN broke into the house of an Iraqi women's rights campaigner and shot her dead in front of her three children.Human rights activists say the lives of women in Iraqi society have worsened dramatically since the US-led invasion of March 2003, amid a general break down in law and order and the rise of conservative Islamist militias.
Captain Imad Khudhir of the Kirkuk police said 38-year-old Halima Ahmed Hussein al-Juburi was killed late yesterday by 10 unidentified attackers who broke into her home in the northern town of Hawijah.
``We do not know the motive behind the crime,'' he said.
Oh really?
...Professional women and rights campaigners are often targeted by conservative Islamist groups who adhere to a strictly traditional view of women's role in society and use violence to drive women out of public life.

Well I'm not surprised. They don't want human right in Iraq anyway.

"...We do not know the motive behind the crime..." from the police Captain.
That is funny and sad and insulting on so many levels I don't know where to begin.
Iraq is doomed as much by the militant gunman who stormed the home as it is by cowardly police Captains.

So it takes TEN big bad brave armed jihadists to kill ONE unarmed woman!
Unbelievable cowardice.

What do you expect. She was just a piece of meat.
Is it the cats' fault if a piece of meat is in it's wrapper, in it's house and the cats break in and rip the meat to shreds? Apparently not, according to the peaceful wisdom of Islam.

Yeah. Rape or kill a woman, then blame it all on the woman for 'enticing' you to do it. You may have killed her, but you're nonetheless the victim.
Islam is never having to say you're sorry.

You can argue about the rights of women until the cows come home, but when you're dead, you're dead. This is the level of reality at whih Islam operates.

This is the stark reality of Islam. Submit or die. Either way calm (marketed as 'peace') follows.

The only surprising thing is that they didn't kill her 3 children too.

Can someone confirm if the following is true...
1.Muslim women are not required to attend Friday prayers, only men (come to think of it, usually see only men leaving the Lakemba mosque on TV).
2. If women do attend, they pray in separate rooms away from the men, because the presence of women (and dogs) invalidates the man's prayer.
Have heard the dog part before, but not the women.
If the above is true and this from the religion/cult that claims to respect women !!!

I remember that when a Mosque was bombed in Iraq, the explosion was in the women's section. Same thing with the Seattle gunman.
It makes complete sense to target women in the game of global conquest. Since one man can perpetuate dozens of women's reproductive cycles, killing a percentage of the male population has no real effect.
Muslims target women because it is a more efficient way to wear down the opposing population. They operate like ants.

There's to be a programme on Channel 4 UK soon: a debate between Muhammedan "feminists" (which, I assume want equal rights in the mosque, etc.) and hard liners who - obviously - don't. I'm not promising anything - as the debate last week chaired by John Snow disintegrated into total capitulation by the presenter, audience and the editorial team: the overwhelming majority, for example, did - at one point - vote to show the cartoons depicting Muhammed except that they didn't have the backbone to go though with it. I saw a clip last night on Cannel 4 news whichshowed two women from different sides of the debate slogging it out. It was quite funny.
The serious point, though, is if there are Muhammedan feminists out there (the mind boggles) there could be interesting times ahead. perhaps they want to burn their burqas?

Of course, the brave, brave Jihadists will be feeling extra pleased with themselves for killing their target in front of her daughters, just so the children can suffer all the more in the years ahead of them.
Allah will be very happy, and will probably reward them with extra virgins in paradise. What a wonderful religion the Morons...oops, I mean Muslims...choose to follow.
Personally, I only wish these brave, brave Jihadists would put down their guns for an hour or two and take their chances with a bunch of western skinheads or bar-room hooligans. Then we might see how brave they realy are.
