Pope asks Turkey to give Church legal status

Put up or shut up time in Ankara. From AKI, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Vatican City, 19 Jan. (AKI) - Pope Benedict XVI on Thursday called on Turkey to give the Catholic Church legal status as a recognised religious institution. The pope made the remark during a meeting with Turkey's new ambassador to the Holy See, Moammer Dogan Akdur. "In enjoying the freedom of religion which the Turkish constitution grants to all believers, the Catholic Church hopes it can benefit from a recognised judicial statute," Benedict said.

Benedict told Akdur that he hoped all religions would strive for peace "beginning by denouncing violence which too often in the past has been motivated on religious grounds."

Heh heh-the Pope behaved more than well when he was in Turkey so now he wants a little in return.
Good for him, because he can't lose. If they agree to his request, excellent. If they don't, then they look like jerks. This should prove interesting.

It looks unanimous-the jerks shall have their way.
And an eventual entry into the EU as well.

It's all about reciprocity. If Turkey does not grant the Pope's request then we know for sure we are dealing with an Islamist country.

If only there was religious trade as one trades goods because if the Turks and the rest of the Muslim world behave so intolerant as they have shown in the modern era of 2007 we would never have had so many Mosques or Muslims in Europe let alone the in the West as they have shown why there are not so many Churches in their lands.

Oh we are so forgiving in Europe as Jesus Son of God intended us to be but I guess the superior Moham-mad does not tolerate non Muslims as equals but still we allow this culture to breed until the wake up call that the egg we were looking after breaks open into a dragon forcing the issue that the host nation should bend over backwards for them, whist covering up that Christ ever existed to the scared PC brigade who are happy to sweep Christ's message away so not to feel ashamed of their moral responsibilities but adopt the dragon that will consume them for the sake of doing away with some decent moral grounds they fear to stand on. But I guess the case of your enemy is my enemy makes good relations for teamwork.

Of course they'll be jerks. They always have been jerks against Christians, so why should they change now?
