A small bit of good news about Britain's wholesale cultural collapse in an update on this story. From The Australian, with thanks to Nicolei:
BRITISH Airways said overnight said it had changed uniform rules to allow staff to wear religious symbols openly, after coming under heavy criticism for banning an employee from wearing a crucifix over her uniform.Following consultations with representatives from a wide range of religious groups, the airline said it would permit staff to wear a lapel pin symbol such as a Christian cross or Jewish Star of David, the company said.
In addition, and in response to complaints by some Christians, it "would allow some flexibility" in its usual policy banning staff from wearing chains over their uniforms.
"Unintentionally we have found ourselves at the centre of one of the hottest social issues in current political debate," said BA chief executive Willie Walsh.
Check-in staffer Nadia Eweida was told last October by BA managers she must not display a small necklace crucifix, prompting an outcry from the Church of England. One cabinet minister described BA's decision as "loopy".
Especially because the hijab was just fine with BA.

"Following consultations with representatives from a wide range of religious groups...". Their lawyers come from a wide range of religions? How charming.
This ban on the crucifix was on such thin ice legally that it just needed someone to hint at challenging it and it would collapse.
Kudos to Nadia. Perhaps she will give the native Brits a clue.

"Britain's wholesale cultural collapse .. "
Wait a minute, doesn't this story rather contradict this sloganizing?

Lindsay Graham and Mel Martinez should meet with Brown to discuss how to deal with these types of problems. They need to make the Quran welcome in America and Britain.

I don't know about you, but I wish politicians would cease their promotions and defense of islam, the satanic qur'an, and crybaby muslims. I am so tired of hearing the incessant slurs against Christians and Christianity, which politicians never mention, while islam and muslims are treated with the utmost respect and adulation by the MSM, politicians, bureaucrats, etc. etc. It is revolting! Their fawning efforts to be oh so politically correct are contemptible and are blatant betrayals of their constituencies. I don't know who generates the most contempt for muslims and islam---CAIR and similar traitorous organizations with their incessant whining, demands, lawsuits, and complaints, or sanctimonious politicians grovelling for muslim approval and votes. Even if there were 8 million muslims in America, they would still be a drop in the bucket, too few to make a difference in national elections.
I don't need a politician to tell me what islam is or is not; I know much better than the ignorant politicians what islam is all about. It is even more infuriating to have an ignorant politican pontificate about religious tolerance, religious freedom, and the imaginary contributions of muslims to America. I want to scream every time I hear that bullshit.
When I hear a politician defend islam or call it a religion of peace, he is automatically added to my list of idiots. When I get a reply from a representative defending islam and "religious" freedom, I file it away for future use. The irresponsible people who have put us all at risk by allowing islam to become established in America should be held accountable, if not during their terms in office then in the history books. I am confident that history will reflect the poor judgement and ignorance of the men and women elected to represent Americans, and will name those most culpable for jeopardizing the stability and future of this country by allowing incompatible, third-world muslim immigrants to invade and threaten America with their supremacist beliefs and demonic death cult.
Nobody can predict the future, but intuition suggests that islam and muslims will be responsible for future heinous atrocities affecting us all. Common sense implies that our leaders' ignorance of islam or their refusal to acknowledge and deal with its reality will be directly responsible for future catastrophes. We are being sacrificed at the altar of political correctness and utopian multiculturalism, and that is criminal.

So the British Airways actually listens to criticism, or was it some kind of boycott which changed their mind?

Righteous dittos on all that!
So true that Jihad Watch posters know Mohammedanism much better than politicians in the most powerful position. We got their (Islam's) number!! While the hack politicos fantasize about a non-Jihadist peaceful Islam that never was
They can't handle the awful truth!

"In addition, and in response to complaints by some Christians, it "would allow some flexibility" "
flexibility was already super-granted for muslims.

Wasn't BA from the A team? Did he not wear lots of crosses and necklaces? Would he be allowed as a pin up at the back of the room cupboard? Would he have been seen as politically incorrect and a bad influence on the staff? Would the Pope have been allowed to work for BA if it had gone ahead? (Sarcasms by the way)

Yup , it appears one of the churches was a large
investor in B.A. and used thier muscle...it was nothing to do with freedom or justice...it was
down to money !

Since Muslims were allowed to wear their veils and such as a symbol of their "religion," then it is only fair that Christians can wear the cross as a symbol of their "religion."
......It seems to me that Islam is always forcing their religion down your throat while at the same time demanding you deny your religion, often at the threat of the gun.....
It is time to fight back......

SO will a movie be made by the BBC about this and featuring the discrimination Nadia faced? She should be promoted as a fighter of freeedom I hope the Queen gives her a award.
