Nonviolent Islamization is A-OK. And evidently, calls for civil war are just fine too -- I guess the Australian government understands this as nonviolent civil war. Suicide of the West Update: "Ruddock: no ban on Muslim group," from AAP, with thanks to all who sent this in:
The Federal Government refuses to ban a radical Muslim group that has sparked outrage by bringing to Australia its calls for an Islamic superstate.Indonesian firebrand cleric Ismail Yusanto outlined his vision for an Islamic utopia before a crowd of about 500 Muslims at Lakemba, in Sydney's south-west, today.
Dr Yusanto and fellow members of the extremist group Hizb-u-Tahrir believe it can ease suffering around the world by creating an Islamic superstate - ruled by Sharia law - through jihad, or holy war.
The NSW government and federal opposition are outraged, demanding the Commonwealth follow Britain, Germany and several Middle Eastern countries in banning the group.
But Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said today there was not enough evidence to justify using anti-terrorism laws to outlaw Hizb-u-Tahrir.
To be proscribed as a terrorist organisation, a group has to urge the use of force or violence.
"Evidence to sustain that has to be available," he told reporters.
"Just because people have messages that I don't regard as broadly in keeping with Australian values doesn't mean they can be proscribed as terrorist organisations," Mr Ruddock told reporters.
[...]
Dr Yusanto said if the utopian superstate fell, "all military-aged Muslims" and "Muslims living outside of the boundary" of the Sharia state should obtain military training and "join the jihad".
"Once successful, the new order would be just the beginning of the new era in the application of Islamic ideology," he said.
"There is no victory and glory without sacrifice and hard work. No pain no gain."
[...]
Opposition immigration spokesman Tony Burke called on newly appointed Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews to consider cancelling Dr Yusanto's visa.
"There are clear character provisions in the Immigration Act that mean that if the government didn't want Ismail Yusanto here it could have stopped him from coming," he told reporters.
"The only reason we have someone in western Sydney right now preaching Sharia law is because the federal government chose to allow him to be here.
"My question and my comment to anyone from around the world who hates Australia is simple - if you hate the place, don't come here."
Good idea. All non-Muslim states should adopt it. But it is already quite late in the game -- time, long past time, for authorities to start calling to account those who are already here.

This made most of the MSM tv news, thankfully.
However, it made me feel sick, not to mention that the creeps want separate toilets at one of our universities.
With thanks to Sheik!

Ruddock has always been the "wet" in an otherwise solid cabinet. I guess this may be his swan song.

I don't listen to talk radio, but I imagine that Mr Ruddock is going to get hammered on the talk back tomorrow! His ears would be ringing already.

It never ceases to amaze me that a group of only 300 thousand odd persons can make so much trouble and such a general nuisance of themselves in a nation of 20 million.
WTF is it going to be like when there are a couple of million of the buggers?

"ruled by Sharia law "
....lawmakers around the world should compare Sharia Law against their own laws.....Which do they prefer?...You only have one choice...Be careful and chose wisely....
.....Perhaps politicians, judges, and lawmakers should be required to pass a knowledge test on Sharia law before they can preside over anything....
Islamists are always boasting of "knowledge"... and perhaps it ultimately will be knowledge of Islam that will be their downfall.....
""My question and my comment to anyone from around the world who hates Australia is simple - if you hate the place, don't come here."
........I would propose to Australia and a host of other "civilized" countries to impose an immediate ban On Muslim Immigration....Stop providing ammunition to the guns--so to speak....

Mark Tobin a Sydney radio reporter was at the meeting in the suburb of Lakemba and said the meeting had been organized by the controversial Islamic group Hizb ut tahrir. This Islamic group has already been banned in several countries.
And this from a speaker last night at this Sydney Conference , Ashrash Doureihi says: action needs to be taken to ensure an Islamic state is created.
He says it is important that the Muslim world demands a change, even if it means spilling onto the streets to create a revolution or staging a military coup.
And Australia is tolerating these kind of comments while they are now sending troops to Western Mindanao to assist the Phillipines in fighting Islamic terrorist groups like Abu-Sayaf.

The seditiousness of a countries citizens, be they real citizens or Muslims must be dealt with immediately if that country has any hope of maintaining control of its sovereignty....Islam , much like the cancerous cells in the prostrate, if allowed to go unchecked, will kill you--no ifs, ands, or buts...
"The Federal Government refuses to ban a radical Muslim group that has sparked outrage by bringing to Australia its calls for an Islamic superstate. "
....The Federal Government has failed its citizens in a most profound way.....

Indeed a good idea, though it is still not too late to stop all further immigration of Muslims. And if that principle is accepted, then those Muslims who are already here but harmful to the peace and equanimity of the state, I dont see any reason why they should not be repatriated.

Let them speak. Let their hatred & agenda be heard by all.
The hatred coming from Islamic preachers' mouths is well covered and broadcast in Australia. It is the only way to educate the average person. More and more Aussies are getting disgusted, or at least aware of what Islam is really about. There's still a long way to go to wake up the rest of us. Ban groups like this one and too many people remain in the dark as to what Islam is all about.

Something tells me that the government's stupidity in not banning this group will lead to a little violence. I think the Australians will offer a good example to the West in fighting for one's country against the crazies.

I agree, feralee, we shouldn't be too quick to ban, but very quick to infiltrate and broadcast what they say.

As has been featured on this site many times, the Australian government's message is:
This is Australia - there is one system of law, if you want shar'ia go find somewhere else more suited to your needs. No shar'ia here - ever.
This is Australia - love it or leave it.
Did anyone here notice that the Australian government has changed the department for "multicultural affairs" to department for citizenship? There is yet another clear message there.
Like feralee and Brett_McS, I see that our government is quite rightly happy to let these losers shoot their mouths off all they like. It's what has woken up and rallied the Australian people against them far earlier than has been the case in the UK, USA, France, Germany, Holland and others who are way behind the eight ball.
Hoist on their own petard. Condemned by their own words. How better?
