KORAN school was a shed down the road. The other pupils were from the neighbourhood. At first I liked it. I learned to mix ink from charcoal, water, and a little milk, and to write the Arabic alphabet on long wooden boards. I began learning the Koran, line by line, by heart. It was uplifting to be engaged in such an adult task. But the kids at madrassah (Islamic religious school) were tough. They fought. One girl, who was about eight years old, they called kintirleey, "she with the clitoris".I had no idea what a clitoris was, but the kids didn't even want to be seen with this girl. They spat on her and pinched her; they rubbed sand in her eyes, and once they caught her and tried to bury her in the sand behind the school.
The madrassah teacher didn't help. Once in a while he called her dammin, dunce, and kintirleey, too. My teenage cousin Sanyar used to pick me up after madrassah. One day she arrived just as a girl hit me in the face. Sanyar took me home and told the story. "Ayaan didn't even defend herself," she said in horror. "Coward!" my family jeered.
The next day Sanyar waited for me outside the madrassah with another teenager, the older sister of the girl who had hit me the day before. They caught hold of the two of us and tugged us over to an open space, then ordered us to fight. "Scratch her eyes out. Bite her," Sanyar hissed at me. "Come on, coward, think of your honour."
The other girl got the same encouragement. We flew at each other, fists tight, hitting, wrestling, pulling each other's hair, biting. "Ayaan, never cry!" Sanyar called out. The other children cheered us on. When they let us stop, our dresses were torn and my lip was bleeding, but Sanyar was delighted. "I don't want you to ever let another child hit you or make you cry," she said. "Fight. If you don't fight for your honour, you're a slave."
Then, as we walked away, the other girl shouted after me, "Kintirleey!" Sanyar winced. I looked at her, horror dawning on me. I was like that other girl? I, too, had that filthy thing, a kintir? In Somalia, like many countries across Africa and the Middle East, little girls are made "pure" by having their genitals cut out. There is no other way to describe this procedure, which typically occurs around the age of five.
After the child's clitoris and labia are carved out, scraped off, or, in more compassionate areas, merely cut or pricked, the whole area is often sewn up, so that a thick band of tissue forms a chastity belt made of the girl's own scarred flesh. A small hole is situated to permit a thin flow of pee. Only great force can tear the scar tissue wider, for sex.
Female genital mutilation predates Islam. Not all Muslims do this, and a few of the peoples who do are not Islamic. But in Somalia, where virtually every girl is excised, the practice is always justified in the name of Islam. Uncircumcised girls will be possessed by devils, fall into vice and perdition, and become whores. Imams never discourage the practice: it keeps girls pure.

I have never hated until I turned 39 and knew enough about Islam. Islam has hurt me.
But We are all vicitims of this evil, especially those unlucky women born in dar al-Islam. We need to remember that muslims are Islam's first and worst victims.
This does not excuse them in the slightest, however.

'An estimated 150,000 Muslims, mostly from Somalia, live in Minnesota. Donations from some of them made it possible to start the university, says Adnan Sameha, who helps with enrollment at IUM.
Somalis constitute more than 60 percent of the students.'

This is extremely common in sub-saharan Africa. Even more so than in Arab countries. Supposedly, it is a rite of passage for girls becoming women.
I was born in South Africa and immigrated to America 4 yrs ago. Anericans typically have no idea how primitive most of Africa is. Not only for women but men also. Muslim practices are backward to be sure but they have nothing on Africa.

Re the description of female genital mutilation, too much information. Actually, come to think of it, if Moslem males were to undergo castration at an early age . . .

genital mutilation is an authentic teaching of Islam, it's in the hadith:
Tabari II:72 - "Sarah swore to cut something off of Hagar. ‘I shall cut off her nose, I shall cut off her ear - but no, that would deform her. I will circumcise her instead.' So she did that, and Hagar took a piece of cloth to wipe the blood away. For that reason women have been circumcised and have taken pieces of cloth down to today."
Any Muslim who tries to say it is not is a liar or ignorant of their own religion. I read that whole article and it simply re-enforced my belief that Islam is a vile and filthy 'religion' and we should do all that we can to keep it down, at least in Australia where at least we have half a chance of doing so, unlike Europe.

And the great part is, you can have your clit lopped off right here in the Somali homeland, at Park Avenue & 7th Ave., across the street from the Hennepin County Medical Center, a teaching hopsital for the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Cut her down, cut her off. Pretend it's not happening. The same pretend that pretends that the Mexican border still exists. The same pretend that impelled Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx. It's all surreal but it's all so terribly real.
And the whole squalid mess is right there in the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota of Rep. Keith Ellison, liberal Democrat.

Muslims lack compassion and empathy. This very much applies to womenfolk of islam too, be they Arabs, pukis or indian muslims. What is puzzling is that victimised womenfolk have not come together condemning barbarianism. Mutilation and gruesome torture of males (and children) among captured/subjugated Infidels is also sanctioned by islam. The breast beating, ululating looking -for- sympathy from Infidels, after every bomb blast ought to blame their own cult. And refocus their wrath and murderous urges towards their own. Isolated handwringing and tongue clicking only betray lack of will and credibility among the much desensitized and born brutal.

TYPES OF CIRCUMCISION
a) Removal of the hood (or prepuce) of the clitoris. This procedure is, to some degree, analgous to male circumcision since in both cases, no part of the sexual organ is cut off. In both cases also, it is only the foreskin, or outer fold of the skin, which is cut off. Properly done, it is not likely to cause any "matrimonial" problem. While some may call it "sunnah circumcision," this is their own appellation and not that of the Prophet (P) who used the term Sunnah only in the context of male circumcision.
b) Removal of the entire clitoris (clitorectomy also known as SUNNAH) along with part of the labia minora, which is satured together leaving an opening. This is a form of mutilation.
c) Removal of the entire clitoris, labia minora and medial part of the labia majora, whith both sides of the female organ stitched together leaving a small opeing. This procedure requires tying together the child's legs of nearly three weeks. [9] It is called the Pharaonic procedure but may as well be called "mutilation".

Nowhere, but NOWHERE, not in Genesis, not in the Talmud, not in the Commentaries, is it ever, ever, mentioned that Sarah disfigured Hagar.
The commentary is that she asked for Hagar to be expelled because Hagar's son Ishmael, in the best spirit of sibling rivalry and bastard jealousy, THEN as NOW, ATTEMPTED ON THE LIFE OF HIS LITTLE HALF-BROTHER, ISAAC, SARAH'S SON, who was still a baby at the time!
Hagar is regarded by the Rabbis as one of the prophetesses G-d gave the Jews. Go Figure!

I had a nightmare last night after reading the whole article. What is WRONG with these people? Why are they so evil? Sure, female sexual expression has always been a danger to the concept of men controling women, but this is so hard to comprehend!
For men, the equivalent would be cutting off the penis, having the whole area sown up (all without anaesthetic), and then being raped through the scar tissue. 9 months later, trying to give birth to a child through it. These people completely lack compassion.

There was once a "Law & Order" episode where a white man murdered an Egyptian Doctor who was brought over by his Egyptian wife's Grandmother to perform this horrid act on his daughter. At the time it was just an intellectual argument for me, but after reading this I'd willingly go to jail for life for murdering someone wanting to do this to my daughter.

Well, it is a way of gelding women. The same way, four-leggeds are gelded- to make them docile and manageable!
Of course, you know it is all connected to the nervous and all biological systems.
Nobody has really done a medical study on the effects - or written a paper, but I do suspect it is why the islamic women are mentally deformed.
There are only a few that are strong enough to remain normal, including physically, such as that model Waries Dirie. God bless her.

Remember that the founders of the religion were savage tribals at the time. The very idea of marrying a close relation - then giving a slave girl to the husband to be bred for a son - AND THE MAN SCOUNDREL THAT HE IS - accepting.
And the ultimate savagery, preparation to sacrifice a child to a blood thirsty - high tech humanoid!
