He might have already deflowered her. If not she still has the bad social stigma of being divorced and she is only four. He just has to wait a few more years then she is legal. While in Afganistan, we ran a clinic for people in the village. You wouldn't believe the number of abused women that were brought there. Young girls around six to 14. They were burned with scalding water, beat, had all kinds of damage to their reproductive organs. Some women within an inch of their life. I am sure alot a killed and there is no reprocussions for the husbands. They were often brought by their husbands, who were about 20 to 30 years their senior. They freak out when their young brides don't get pregnent or for any reason under the sun. I think most these girls by nature just try to be kids, which they are, and their adult husbands can't take it. A women thats older than 14 and not married is an old maid.

Any westren woman that would convert to Islam, should live in Afganistan.

American_soldier . I found while in Egypt that young boys were also very badly abused sexually as muzzies did not consider boys younger than puberty differently than the young girls.
Westerners are so STUPID. When they should burn every mosque and deport every muzzie, they argue about understanding and other cultures needing respect. So dumb. Homos and liberals will be the first to die when sharia takes over....

The same thing is true with young boys here. We share a FOB with Afgan soldiers and have Afgan locals kids and adults that work here. It happens all the time that we catch hanky panky between the locals and the kids. The prefer to get them before they grow facial hair.

I forgot to mention the fistulas that alot of these young women suffer. Their young bodies aren't ready for child birth, Nor can these young women take a full grown man's penis. The result if often perment damage and infetility, which they pay for with a life time of beatings. The situation is even worse in places with female circumcision, like Somalia. I think the gowing price for a dowry is really low too, and their fathers are happy to get rid of them as a burden. I bet if their husband kills them. They fathers could care less.

Difference is that any child sex abuse in the non-Muslim lands is not only is frowned upon but also is punished bigtime in the criminal courts of law. Just in Austria this week a big child porn computer ring was busted by the law enforcement people over there. It was an intenational child porn ring. Even in the prisons, such inmates are treated as lower then low by other prisoners.

They looked like the eyes of an old woman. Now I know that the girls had seen - experienced, terrible, terrible things, that no one should have had to see.

Thank you so much, American_soldier, for all of your good work on behalf of the innocent children and women in Afghanistan. The cycle of violence seems endless throughout the Muslim world. To end the cycle, it has to begin with the women. Mothers, aunts and older sisters cannot leave young girls to be victims of their thug-male relatives, only taking small comfort that a younger girl receives the next beating or rape. Mothers have to teach their sons to be better and different than their fathers. Your acts of charity and kindness might just be the beginning of breaking the cycle. Again, thank you for your service. Heartening to hear that. I don't see much of a difference btween India and the neighbouring 'istans that way. A lot of politicians run prostitution and extortion industries. You must have read about the ruling foreigner's son who raped a woman. The respirating carcasses called Indians accept everything and vote them to power. What is puzzling is everyone imagines it is the "largest democracy" and "great civilization" blahblah.

Long ago there was one Maya Tyagi, pregnant walking with her husband. In Uttar Pradesh. Certain MLAs (member of legislative assembly) protected by bodyguards stripped her naked in the presence of a lot of people around, dragged and tortured....too painful to narrate. Nobody bothered. Everyone carried on with their lives.

It was only ONE comment written by another NRI which pointed out the truth. Or else I also would have ended up believing him. The harm done by such irresponsible writing (with non sycophantic comments censored in the name of moderation) could be fatal.

I am not going to defend this but it happens worldwide that people abuse children and no nation I bet has ever had this problem even if it has never been reported. Some nations or regions do not have the amount of media as the West offers to expose so I bet more out there.

Secondly what is worse is that these people make it open to be married to a 4 year old and find it acceptable along with other people too. To me it's worse than those who hind it because at least they know they are wrong but cannot help it. Once it's socially acceptable the bar has raised another level.

Allat: Do you remember that the photographer tracked down the Afghan girl with the green/gold eyes? She, of course, was married, about 30 years old, with 5 children. She looked 60 and her only dream was that her children could go on the haj. If she is not dead now, she will be in a few years, of bad health and constant child bearing. Her soul, looking thru her beautiful eyes, looked as if it had died a long time ago. She is a true victim of Islam.

From the Qu'ran, the chapter "Divorce" (Qu'ran 64:4). This is from the very low key N.J. Dawood translation:

"If you are in doubt concerning those of your wives who have ceased menstruating, know that their waiting period (for divorce) shall be three months. The same shall apply to those who have not yet menstruated."*

*On account of their young age. Child marriages were common.

Mr. Dawood offers this handy starred clarification. He does not mention exactly when it was that child marriages were common. You would never guess from reading this passage that child marriage hadn't ended centuries ago.

Also notice that this sick marriage was "part of a dispute settlement". Most likely the little girl's father owed the "groom" money and could not repay it. Thus he sold his own pre-school daughter to pay his debts.

And people talk about Muslims and their "conservative family values". I think not.

Thanks. No problem. Ofcourse its a uphill battle. Where are all the western feminist? I suppose they are all in Wasington D.C or other places to protest the "occupation" and denoucing these "racist" wars. It easy for kooks like Bell Hooks and the like to sit in their comfort zones and denouce everybody and find sexism and racism in all the benigin hiddin corners of the west. It is a completely differnt thing to challenge the Muslim world and traditional cultures in general. Most of Asia and Africa have dismal records with women. Most the NGOs are a sham and the problems like trafficing, islamic gender roles, ect, continue. Political correctness has made it taboo to challenge this when it happens in Muslim counties. Prostitution and trafficing are huge in the Muslim world too. Its as big of bisness in Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, as it is in Thailand or the Phillipines. Where are all these feminist at western universities? Why don't leave the comforts of their campuses and involve themselves in the Muslim world. Ofcouse they won't like the jokers who become human shields in palistine, because they know Isreal in not evil like they say and no real harm will come to them. They can make themselves feel the real enemy is the west and Isreal. They know deep in their hearts that the real enemy and the real oppressers are Islam and the totalitarian socities and if they were to really challenge it they might suffer or die. It is easier to just blame the west and the white man.

American_soldier: Of course, you are right about the absent and silent feminists. Our family lived in a college town until several years ago. I knew of two feminist professors who actually wore hijabs, in solidarity with "their Muslim sisters." I also knew a couple of emergency room doctors who privately told me how appalled they were at the attitude of the Muslim men/students when they brought their wives for medical treatment. As someone once observed, "American campuses are full of herds of free thinkers." If a person or cause appears anti-West, then it receives full support on most campuses. This takes place as professors enjoy the peace and prosperity that, thanks to you and your valiant efforts, they benefit from on a daily basis. Once a year, the local Islamic Center would hold an open house. The university crowd would flock there, with the 'feminists' professors gladly accepting the gender segregation demanded by the male Muslims as they entered. Can you imagine the protests if that took place in a Methodist or Catholic church?? Again, thank you and please stay safe.
