Sharia Alert. "Suspected Islamic militants warn barbers," by Habibullah Khan for Associated Press:
KHAR, Pakistan - Suspected Islamic radicals have issued a Taliban-style warning to barbers in a Pakistani border town not to shave off or cut their customers' beards, saying it offends Islam, residents said Monday.
Pamphlets with the warnings were found at several shops in Inayat Kalay in Pakistan's Bajur tribal region near the Afghan border, said Bacha Khan, a barber in the market town.
"Barbers! Correct yourselves," said the handwritten, Pashto-language notes, one of which was obtained by The Associated Press.
"Any barber shop where acts against Shariah (Islamic law) — shaving or cutting of beards — are seen, are given a final warning to stop this anti-Shariah work and if they do not stop, they should take responsibility for whatever harm they come to," it said.
The pamphlets were unsigned. However, Khan said he believed the warnings were from mujahedeen, or holy warriors — a term often used to describe Islamic militants.
He said two dozen barbers had responded by posting notices in their shops asking customers not to insist on getting a shave.
"We do not want to come to harm," Khan said. "If this work is against Shariah, we will stop it."
The warning echoed a decree issued under Afghanistan's ousted Taliban regime ordering all men to grow beards, and it could reinforce concern that Pakistan's border areas are undergoing a "Talibanization" because of the presence of militants and radical preachers.

Would they want Kafirs to have beards as well? I'd have thought that they'd want them to be distinguished, maybe by being cleanshaven, or some yellow band, or something...
How about women? Shouldn't women be stoned for not growing their beards? How about women who shave their legs?
Actually, I like this idea. All infidels should be required to shave, and all Muslims should be required to grow beards. So that we can easily tell them apart.

The mujahedeen, or holy warriors, do the cutting then and it's heads, not beards that get cut.

Does anybody know if a smilar edict requiring the wearing of beards was issued by the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia? I would not be surprised by the existence of such an absurd law.

I would be interested to understand why the world still swallows the lie of "Religion of Peace". Also I cannot grasp the logic that dictates that people who disobey should "take responsibility for any harm they come to" (sic). Where are the Pakistani police defending the rights of these people and where is the UN defending their rights as well?

I see your point. True, Moslimas are so hairy as to be hirsute in extremis, but they rarely get stoned. Sure, some do, up in the hash caves in the canyons above Kabul. Sorta like a hairy California stoned-in-the-canyon scene, but in South Asia. But most stay down in the flatlands clenching follicles and working for the cause.
Should Moslimas shave their moustaches, sideburns, and backs? You decide.

Actually, Islam has very strict rules concerning women. Muslim women are required to remove ALL body hair below the neck (by shaving, waxing, or plucking). Sharia is very clear on this subject. Female pubic hair offends Islam!
Back in my wild days, I dated a couple of non-religious Muslimas (one Turkish and one Malay) and both said that religious Muslim women has to remove all pubic hair before their wedding night. Later I studied in a madrassa (I was exploring comparative religion) and they taught this very directly. Perhaps, this became part of Sharia because Muhammed preferred pre-pubescents.
Interestingly, although Islam requires beards for men, suicide bombers, 9-11 plane crashers, and other "martyrs" almost always shave their bodies to be ready for paradise.

The benefits of being a woman in Islam just keep getting better and better!
Let me get this straight...women in Islam have got to shave, wax or similarly remove all hair from every nook and cranny while the stinky guys, (who can demand sex from them anytime, anywhere,) only have to wash before prayer and have to grow those nasty-ass beards that look like brillo pads and make them oh so sexy and irresistable. Then after they get knocked up they have to bring up their children to hate non-Muslims and grow up to be just like mom and dad, another hairless, mindless sperm receptacle who lives in a Hefty bag and her fuzzy hubby who is out making the world safe for Sharia. Where can I sign up?!!

Exactly! My own experiences also bear out that hygene is expected to be very high for women but not that important for men. Incidently, there are areas of Afghanistan and N.W. Pakistan where clean-shaven men are considered appropriate for sex since they are feminine. Several US and British soldiers have had to fend off the sexual advances of Pathan tribesmen for this reason.

Who is really behind this? I've read that one of the reasons Satan hates God is because He can create life and Satan can't. I've read that he hates women for the same reason. And he gets off on hurting God. Is Islam a coincidence? What better way to hurt God, by destroying the people that he loves and by destroying the natural essence of sex, that it is a loving and creative thing, and turn it into the cruel, life altering destuction that Islam makes it.
