Israelis choose song mocking global jihad for European song contest; Eurodhimmis mulling ban

A predictable response from Eurabia. "Israelis Choose Song Mocking Global Jihad For Eurovision," by Ezra HaLevi in Israel National News, with thanks to James:

(IsraelNN.com) Israelis have chosen a song ridiculing Islamic terrorists as their representative entry for the Eurovision song contest - and the Eurovision organizers say they may ban the song and its "inappropriate political message."

The song, called “Push the Button,” was composed by the popular Israeli rock group Teapacks (Tipex), whose members say that they are proud of using the international platform to convey an important message to the world on behalf of the Jewish state. In English, Hebrew and French, the artists humorously dismiss the global Jihad and murderous Iranian nuclear intentions in a fusion of rap, rock and folk music.

“There are some crazy rulers,” an English line in the song sung with a thick Israeli accent says, “they hide and try to fool us, with demonic, technological willingness to harm.”

Teapacks members and their families experience the brunt of Islamic terrorism first-hand. The band was formed in 1988 in the Kassam rocket-pocked city of Sderot.

Lead singer Kobi Oz said that his group knew that the trilingual song crosses accepted norms, but is heartened by the fact that it was chosen by a majority of Israelis in the recent televised voting.

Eurovision’s organizers have already begun to consider banning Teapacks from the competition. "It's absolutely clear that this kind of message is not appropriate for the competition," contest organizer Kjell Ekholm said. "We'll have all the delegation leaders here in Helsinki next week, and I'm sure we'll talk about this case within the EBU [European Broadcasting Union] group."

The whine of the bullet, the sizzle of the fuse, the roar of the rocket, the concussion of the blast, the ratatatatat of the machine gun, the dripping sound of flowing blood, the sigh of a non Muslims last breath.....Music to Muslim ears.....

Under the latest rules, Muslims, due to their large number in Europe, have been allowed their own entry. It can be viewed here:

Just in time for the Jewish Purim, which is this Sunday!

Drat, I was going to send this one in too, but James beat me too it. :-)

That link doesn't work for me, but the video is at on YouTube.

Of course the EuroDhimmis at EuroVision want to ban this tune, heck, these Jews are always pushing the boundries, first a transexual, now political songs about, God forbid, reality!?

Oh, btw, Kobi Oz the lead singer of Teapacks is a Tunisian Jew, so he or at least his parents know all about the myth of Islamic tolerance from personal experience.

Here are the lyrics:

The world is full of terror
If someone makes an error
He's gonna blow us up to biddy biddy kingdom come

There are some crazy rulers
they hide and try to fool us
With demonic, technologic willingness to harm

They're gonna push the button
push the button push the bu, push the bu, push the button

Everybody's suffering
The streets are filled with violence
How lucky we are
To have got this far
Without even getting injured

As this regime, so fanatical
Gets even more tactical
It's so tragic my eyes fill with tears

And I don't want to die
I want to see the flowers bloom
Don't want a go capoot ka boom

And I don't want to cry
I wanna have a lot of fun
Just sitting in the sun

Messages are exploding on me
Rockets are flying and landing on me
Police and thieves are chasing me
Jumping on me and pestering me
Woe is me, woe is me, answer me oh living God

This nightmare is too long
When I am barely living and everyone is aiming at me it is too early, perhaps, to sing that I have given you my life

Wha, Wha the police

Weeoo, weeoo a rescue team

Here it is in the semi-finals without salaam

Red is not only a colour, it's more like blood.

Good, I am glad for the Israeli entry.

And it sucks big time if Europe tries to ban it.
Is there no way of overturning the ban?

The lyrics of this song are no worse that the slogans and chants Muslims spew out in public protests, on TV and on Radio....

...Muslims hate the truth and they hate opposite points of view...

...It is ok for me, but not for you.....I will kill you if you think otherwise...(Muslim line of thought)..

I like the song!

“There are some crazy rulers,” an English line in the song sung with a thick Israeli accent says, “they hide and try to fool us, with demonic, technological willingness to harm.”

I'm sure if that line was about America it would be played with much glee and celebration, with absolutely no talk of censorship. Which is the way America would want it, free speech and all. Europe no longer has that concept apparently

considering a ban for "inappropriate political message"

I wonder what that is?

Is it that people voted for a song and in europe we don't like democracy any more?

As this song is clearly an anti-war song, it must be that the EBU are now in favour of wars, rather than peace, love, and unity. But I suspect they are only in favour of wars when the wars are against Israel and/or the Jews. Wouldn't be the first time...

Posted by: Tziona [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 2, 2007 12:14 PM

...as I see it...Everybody picks on the Jews because the Jews are not running around the world killing everyone in sight that mentions "Jews," unlike the Muslims who do run around the world killing everyone who mentions "Muslims"

If they think singing about Jihad and Iranian nuclear intentions is unappropriate, especially since both are valid concerns, especially when sung by people who have experienced incoming rockets....what then, is a appropriate song for todays world?....."Hello Mullah,Hello Fatwah, Here I am at Camp Rammallah, Do you Remember cousin Allie, He blew up while driving in Ramadi....

Tziona -- I thought I heard something about Islam in the Hebrew lyrics, but I don't understand Hebrew. I am curious to know if the non-English lyrics are stronger. Do you understand Hebrew? If so, please post the Hebrew portion of the lyrics. Regardless of what the Hebrew lyrics are, it is has a catchy tune and should be included in the competition.

That was an awesome song. I hope they don't ban it.

Please don't spend any attention on the European Song Festival. They are nothing but a bunch political correct morons and they are stuck in it. The popularity of the contest collapsed when the newly admitted Eastern European states only gave each other points. The only true fans of the European Song Festival live these days in the retirement pensions.

ban it, make it more popular! give our cause greater publicity! it's funny how the politically uncorrect are now the bad boys of rock!!! liberals are lame and uncool.

I like this song very much. They should have this song sold all over the world. Start it in the US and it will spread.

former liberal WF, the hebrew portion of the song
was posted by tziona, translated to english.
It was these couple of paragrpahs:

****
Messages are exploding on me
Rockets are flying and landing on me
Police and thieves are chasing me
Jumping on me and pestering me
Woe is me, woe is me, answer me oh living God

This nightmare is too long

There is no mention of the world Islam in it,
you probobly heard "sallam".

Posted by: IceFront [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 3, 2007 9:30 AM

Thanks IceFront. "Sallam" was what I heard. I just have "Islam" on the brain.

Reminds me of the song from the early 60's "They're rioting in Africa." It was an easier song to listen to - musicwise. I'm not really crazy about the Teapack's song but I hope it doesn't get banned! At lest it's getting a lot of publicity from this!

Posted by: TeachESL [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 3, 2007 3:33 PM

Here are the words:

The Merry Minuet

They’re rioting in Africa,
They’re starving in Spain,
There’s hurricanes in Florida,
And Texas needs rain

This whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The French hate the Germans, The Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don’t like anybody very much

But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud
For Man’s been endowed with a mushroom-shaped cloud
And we can be certain that some lovely day
Someone will set the spark off…and we will all be blown away

They’re rioting in Africa, There’s strife in Iran
What Nature doesn’t do to us will be done by our Fellow Man

That was written by Sheldon Harnick more than 40 years ago.

Posted by: TeachESL [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 3, 2007 3:39 PM

To TeachESL:

Thank you, thank you.

I haven't heard that since the 60's, but I still remember it -- even sing it occassionally by way of gallows humor.

I'd forgotten the author's name though.

I thought nobody else remembered.

Hat tip.
