Some Muslims in Australia apparently believe that only dhimmis pay taxes. "Hardline clerics urge tax cheating," by Richard Kerbaj in The Australian, with thanks to Dylan:
HARDLINE Muslim clerics are encouraging their followers to cheat the tax system because they consider paying income tax contrary to Islamic law.Muslim leaders have warned that fundamentalist imams who put sharia law ahead of Australian law are also condoning welfare fraud and the cash economy as tax-evasion methods.
Sydney-based Islamic leader Fadi Rahman told The Australian that the extremist clerics who were preaching messages against paying income taxes were also staunchly opposed to Western ideologies, including the Australian way of life.
He said he had heard hardline clerics at Friday sermons in Sydney highlight the importance of cheating the tax system.
"I mean, just like how you've got clerics (with) extreme views who are telling the Muslims in the Western world to declare war against the very country that they live in and the very country that is paying for their day-to-day life, you'll find that these are the clerics who are telling them to dodge the tax system," said Mr Rahman, a youth leader and the president of the Independent Centre for Research Australia.
"Tax, itself, is not allowed in Islam. So they (clerics) encourage them that if there's any way that you can dodge paying the tax, then you should do it."

""Tax, itself, is not allowed in Islam."
...Unless, of course, you are a dhimmi non muslim....

Western countries seem to be obsessed with taxes. Our leaders will happily allow our culture to be destroyed and our pride lost but if the Muslims start avoiding taxes they will quickly lose the governments trust.

yeah but isn't it interesting how it's not against islam to take the dirty infidel's money in the form of welfare, child payments, food stamps, free health care, free money for school, free housing, etc.
yeah it's only against islam to pay taxes. how convenient.
I am so sick of their sh*t.
but at the same time, I'm loving it... because it seems world-wide, muslims are pushing the envelope too early. they used to have impecable timing, but last couple of months, it seems they are pushing, pushing, pushing and it's finally starting to wear thin on the infidel's patience.

Well Blowhammed,
If that's what it takes to crack down on them, then so be it. In my country, you don't want to mess with the IRS, and I'm sure it's that way with the Australian equivalent of the IRS.

If they dont pay taxes
If they are not indigenous to Australia - Kick them out (but first imprison them with other illegal immigrants for whaveever time non-payment of taxes should warrant).
If they are indigenous to Australia - imprison them - indefinitely - with no conjugal rights.

Well to be fair to the Muslims(for once). This is really a Third World Asian phenomenon. They come from corrupt cultures where the government is a bigger crook than the crooks, and have got into the habit of concealing their wealth. That's why they love shops and taxis and stuff like that, so they can conceal what they've earned. They've created little microcosms of their own Third World slums, but they can, while evading their responsibilities, step conveniently outside of them, to get advanced 21st Century medical care, etc. It's a bit like home, but the doctor doesn't steal your kidneys, and wild dogs don't get into the maternity ward and kill you baby. Because there are so many of them, it's impossible to enforce the law. It would be like bringing back hanging for murder, and watching death row fill up with young black men, we wouldn't want that would we?
Mass immigration, such fun. Such a bright shining lie.

Of course, the jizzyah isn't a tax, it's blood money extortion.

Why not? For Muslims it is illegal to pay taxes to the Infidel state, though taking welfare Benefits from the Infidel is good Jihad. This is what they have been doing with great success in the UK.

wrathofasma,
We do have our own IRS (the ATO). I recall in the late 90s (I was in my late teens, not a bad time for it) my father was doing the Building Appraisal module of a Real Estate course. He made the mistake of wandering into the ATO offices in Brisbane with a view to taking a couple of pictures. He was crash-tackled by half a dozen security guards withing seconds. A fairly stern reaction (in relaxed Queensland) to an unassuming, middle-aged Reverend armed only with a camera . . . pre 9/11, no less. I expect something from them.
While I'm sure this will push some relevant buttons with our government most of our Mulsims will probably make statements vaguely distancing themselves from this practice (while, in many cases, continuing it no doubt) and paint any legitimate inquiry into Muslim tax dodgers, however guilty, as yet another islamophobic conspiracy.
It happens everytime. JenBee is right, the precious resource of infidel patience is being depleted much faster than it can be renewed.

I'm thankful our newspapers are still free to publish such enlightening stories about what Muslims and Islam are really like. I worry that if Labor gets in, this freedom will be curtailed. Labor brought us Hilaly and Muslim branch-stacking, and created the environment that caused the Cronulla riots. I wouldn't be surprised if they brought in federal vilification laws, so that such articles, and letters to the editors, etc. will be deemed 'hate-speech'.

Actually, having read the Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam, it seems to me that this is entirely consistent with the teachings of Mohammed. Whereas in Christianity and Judaism it is INHERENTLY wrong to lie, cheat, steal, swindle, and hornswoggle, no matter who the victim is, in Islam it is perfectly OK as long as the object of the exercise is one of us Infidel Dogs.
Thus the Musulmen are perfectly happy to SPONGE off of the taxpayers, while simultaneously plotting to MURDER the taxpayers.
And we LET them.

CASH BUSINESSES
and
UNDER THE TABLE cash payments for work you do. That's how Muslims cheat on taxes. Other immigrants are also big cheats such as Korean green grocers and Chinese & Mexican restaurants.
DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL exposed these notorious Muslim tax cheats ---->>>
http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2006/05/la_shish_owner.html
CASH BUSINESSES ARE
restaurants, service stations, auto mechanics, taxi, limo, construction, convenience stores. ANYONE who deals in a lot of cash. They are also paid by credit card and check but take in lots of cash
IMMIGRANTS (LEGAL and ILLEGAL) love cash businesses and magically gravitate towards them. Sorry to be blunt but that's just how it is

For once I agree with an Islamist. Taxation is an abomination and should be done away with, not just for Muslims, but for everyone.

Tax evasion and avoidance are wrong, no matter who does it That said, I'd struggle to remember the last time our pastor stood up and delivered a cracking sermon on the righteousness of wefare cheating.

"Tax evasion and avoidance are wrong, no matter who does it "
No, the other way around. Tax evasion and avoidance are completely moral. It's simply keeping what is rightfully yours. Taxation (the forceable taking of someone else property) is always wrong, no matter who does it.
