The three little puppies, which will be hardly an improvement as far as some Muslims are concerned. But to their credit, some Muslim leaders think this is just as silly as it obviously is. By Chris Brooke in the Daily Mail, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
The story of the Three Little Pigs' battle with the Big Bad Wolf has delighted children since it was written more than 150 years ago.But the tale highlighting the merits of hardwork and practicality has become the latest to fall victim to political correctness.
A junior school production of the children's story has been renamed the Three Little Puppies for fear of offending Muslims.
Organisers of a children's music festival have altered the popular characters and lyrics because of the multi-cultural nature of the youngsters involved and their parents in the audience.
But yesterday Islamic leaders condemned the politically correct move as misguided and said decisions like this were turning Muslims into 'misfits' in society.
Children from Honley Church of England Junior School in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, were due to perform in a reworking of the popular tale which features the three little pigs.
The youngsters - aged from seven to 11 - were due to perform at Huddersfield Town Hall in June with 250 children from 63 schools singing along.
But organisers of the Kirklees Primary Music Festival decided to change the script to be 'sensitive' to Muslims at a recent committee meeting.
Committee member Gill Goodswen, head teacher of Stile Common Junior School, defending the move.
She said: "We have to be sensitive if we want to be multi-cultural. It was felt it would be more responsible not to use the three little pigs.
"We feared that some Muslim children wouldn't sing along to the words about pigs,' she said.
"We didn't want to take that risk. If changing a few words avoids offence then we will do so."

What an outrage. They are trying to confine the imagination, and make them have an irrational stigma over pigs. This is the very sort of thing that stifles development and causes failed societies. Where is liberty in liberal? What sort of prison are they caging themselves in? And the rest of us? Are they so averse to spreading their culture and traditions? And persisting their country? Complete and utter stupidity by arrogant ignorant leadership.

Some may recall the brouhaha a few years ago, discussed at this website, about the suggestion made in England that all "Saracen's Head" pubs be renamed so as to avoid offending Muslim sensibilities. (Google "Saracen's Head" and "Jihad Watch" for more)
But this Three Little Pigs affair poses a much bigger problem. All over the Western world, and no doubt even in Tokyo, there are restaurants that in tribute to the Parisian original at Les Halles (and possibly to pick up some reflected gourmet glamor), by the name Au Pied de Cochon. The original Paris all-night restaurant, though it may not have three Michelin stars, is memorable. It certainly enjoys as much fame among tourists as, say, the Belle-Epoque relic, Le Train bleu, a celebrated restaurant in the Gare de Lyon.
Those who, in London would make a point of going to the Cheshire Cheese (now "Ye Olde" Cheshire Cheese)for Scottish beef and Yorkshire pudding, a restaurant that that does such a land-order business with tourists because, more than two centuries ago, it is said to have been frequented by Samuel Johnson, in Paris may wish to eat at the much newer, but by now venerable, Au pied de Cochon, and would not take kindly to attempts to change its name.
Of course, the desire to change the name of the famous children's story -- and so deprive English children of one of the elements in their past, their history, in order not to "offend Muslims," both symbolizes and at the same time misses the point. The point is not the word "pig" or the word "Saracen." The point is that everything about Islam, its teachings, its inculcated attitudes, its atmospherics, is collectivist where we place great store on the individual and individualism; Islam discourages free and skeptical inquiry which is the great and main reason for the West's astonishing achievements; Islam limits artistic expression, while the West is deeply reluctant to do so. The West believes that the legitimacy of government is not to be found in despotism, or a theocracy, or the Divine Right of Kings, but in the expressed will of the People, while Islam locates political legitimacy not in the expressed will of mere, contemptible mortals, whose duty is to be "slaves of Allah" and to submit to his will, but in the will of Allah as expressed in the Qur'an, and further glossed by the Hadith and Sira.
There is nothing that connects Islam to the Western world, or almost nothing, except centuries of aggression by Muslims, first in the Middle East and North Africa (which shared the same early Christain civilization with Western Europe), and then in the Iberian peninsula even into France, and then in the east, in the unsuccessful early assault by Arabs on Byzantium, followed centuries later by a much more successful assault by Turks (Seljuk and then Ottoman), and then deep into Europe as far as the gates of Vienna, unsuccessfully laid siege to twice, the second time in 1689. And all during this period Muslims raided up and down the coasts of Europe, even as far as Limerick, In Ireland, and once, in Iceland. They raped, they destroyed, they captured and took back, as slaves, perhaps a million people from Western Europe. They did something of the same in the Caucasus and Russia, with several million more European victims there -- and this does not include the tens of millions of black Africna victims of Arab slavers, who preferred to seize young boys and castrate them in the jungle, and then march those who survived (about 10%), to the slave markets of Islam.
The story of "The Three Little Pigs" is a symbol. If the word "pig" stays, it will symbolize a salutary refusal to change for Muslims, people who do not wish us well, who regard us as merely temporarily in power in lands which by right belong to Allah and to them, and will eventually, through Daw'a and especially through demography, fall to them (this is not a fantasy, and it is not, alas, merely fantastical). T here should be a determined effort not to give in one whit, not to take any notice of what Muslims claim "offends them" (such as, for example, the Hebrew motto on the Yale seal, or a frieze of Muhammad as a "Lawgiver" in the Capitol, or a hundred thousand other things) but to stick to our own ways, our stories, our monuments, our art (should schoolchilden not be taken to museums if what they see would offend Muslims?), our everything. A
This refusal to yield, to surrender sometimes even to a demand that has not yet been made but is merely anticipated, is a good thing. It will signal to Muslims a larger determination, for they, who have managed to settle deep behind what they themselves are taught to regard as enemy lines, have deeply damaged the wellbeing and sense of security of the non-Muslimis among whom they live -- in direct proportion to their numbers. Exhibiting a desire to please, and demonstrating a respect for Islam that it has not earned and does not deserve. If one were truly to wish Muslims well, one would wish to help create for them an environment of stony unyielding that would force them, both in Dar al-Harb and in Dar al-Islam, to come to grips with the intelligent and well-articulated opposition of uncowed Infidels, an opposition that should be based on the constant pointing out, by those Infidels, of a fact: that the political, economic, social, intellectual, and moral failures, of Muslim polities and societies are all related to, arise out of, Islam itself. And that can be demonstrated, and not with a great deal of difficulty. The link between those failures and Islam has been repeatedly noted at this website (possibly only at this website), but it is something that the leaders of the Western world should recognize, think about, and realize is the only way to deal with Islam -- that "winning hearts and minds" is not only impossible, but the mere attempt will prove, has proven, dangerous for Infidels. For Muslims will take advantage, constantly, in order to press for more and more concessions -- lest their "hearts and minds" suffer a relapse into hostility, and there will be, can be, no end to this.
If no concessions are made, if no stories called "The Three Little Pigs" are renamed, or pubs called "The Saracen's Head," or restaurants called "Au Pied de Cochon" made to suffer a name change, and if we keep firmly in mind that our civilization, whatever one thinks of its present condition, has left a legacy that is astounding, and that has no equivalent in Islam, a belief-system that, wherever it went, destroyed the artifacts and culture of every non-Islamic people who were conquered, and in the end, transformed formerly Infidel lands into places where, save for a handful of monuments , there is little left of the thriving non-Muslim civilizations that those Arab and other Muslim conquerors took over, and slowly, or rapidly, destroyed, and turned their populations into what they are today -- people who now think of themselves as Muslims, unaware of, or unwiling even to think about, their own ancestors, and that fateful moment when, and for what reason, those Infidel ancestors must have converted or been forced to convert, to Islam.
If Infidels show that they are unimpressed by Islam, and unwilling to acquiesce in the preposterous appropriations and rewriting of history (ranging from the "Palestinian" mufti who denies that there were ever Jews in Israel, and that the culture was entirely Muslim, even before the appearance of Muhamamd, to Tariq Ramadan's assertion that the Renaissance of Europe was actually a product of Islam -- which is false, but could be made true if we were to observe that the conquest of Byzantium by Muslims led to the flight of Greek scholars with their manuscripts from Byzantium to Italy, which in turn helped lead to a rediscovery of classical antiquity, and to the Renaissance Humanism based on that "Revival of Learning" -- so the "Renaissance" may have been caused by Islam in the sense that American departments of physics and art history were much improved by Adolf Hitler, because his rise led to so many people in those fields to escape from Germany and other parts of Europe to the United States, thus causing a rise, lasting several decades, in America's cultural level). rise in our own cultural level).
If some Musliims begin to connect the failures of their own societies with Islam, this may well lead some of them -- the most acute, the most intelligent, the most morally aware, of those born into Islam, out of Islam altogether, and will lead still others to finally find a way-- god knows how, and god knows when -- to change the supposedly immutable texts of Islam, or to subject them to the Higher Criticism, that is putting them back into the history from which they were plucked, and seeing those texts in a different, less literal lightthat merely masks a dangerous, and self-defeating, pusillanimity. No concessions should be made -- anywhere in the Western world -- to Islamic demands. And here, where the demands are merely anticipated, and proleptically yielded to -- "for fear of offending Muslims" is the phrase used in the "Daily Mail" article above -- by Westerners cravenly eager to please, it becomes intolerable. No, it doesn't become intolerable. It is intolerable.

Why not have the infidel children play the filthy swine, and the Muslim children play the wolf? Everybody can be happy. The wolf can make threats and commit violent acts. The pigs, well, two of them are killed, but the smart one lives. And the narrator can turn the production into a true pedagogic lesson, by turning to the audience and saying "See? See how it's important to build a house of brick? Sticks are not going to protect you. Straw is not going to protect you. You need to take the threat of the wolf seriously, and build a strong house to keep the wolf out."
We could learn alot from the nursery rhymes. They are based on common sense, which is in short supply at the moment.

Pre-emptively submitting to real or imagined Muslim demands is probably a bigger problem than the Muslims themselves. It's not like they can really force us to do anything, they only get what they want because we give it to them without any resistance.

Ok, I admit this might be off topic, but I am really curious to know what the moslem men do about facing mecca when the go the the bathroom. If you are taking a leak, then you will be facing one way, but if you take a dump you face another.
Does this mean that they have two seperate toilets facing different directions? OR worse, do moslem men go to the bathroom like women and only sit on the bowl?

So we changed the pigs to puppies which Muslims hate too. And they don't sing anyway, or aren't supposed to so the change was irrelevant, and the story makes no sense now because who would expect a wolf (basically a dog) to eat its own pups?
Okay I think I finally get it. The whole position of Islam is to have us drive ourselves nuts trying to negotiate their requirements.
Can we just live our lives? If they don't want to participate in something they don't have to... Case and point:
When I was growing up we had a friend who was our neighbor. His family were Jehovah's Witnesses. They didn't believe in celebrating birthdays. So even though we invited him to our party he could not come. That was fine. We all still played baseball on the field owned by Mormons. They had a rule that no one was allowed to swear or take the Lord's name in vain. Those boys who could handle it, played baseball. Those who couldn't were asked to leave. The children all played together and knew their own beliefs. If one had to forego an activity, they simply said, "see you guys later." Nobody forced them out and no one bent over backwards to accommodate them. And everyone had a happy life.
When we allow someone else's beliefs to dictate our lives, then we have de facto adopted those beliefs by obeying them. If you want to be true to yourself, be yourself. If someone else can't accept you for who you are - then that is their problem. Isn't that what we've said about minorities like African-Americans? About women? About Gays? for decades. Be yourself. Be accepted for who you are. Don't change yourself to please others.
Didn't Dr. Martin Luther King state that we should be judged by our character? It seems that character is only as good as your beliefs. If you throw them away simply to defer to someone else, then you have become their slave.
Martin Luther King would not have sacrificed his beliefs to befriend or otherwise live with Muslims. He would have invited them into his church or to his speeches, but he would not have thrown out his faith, his culture or his life to appease them.
He did work with them, met with them, spoke at functions with them. What was the difference between then and now?
The difference is today we have a holy Islamic Jihad World War in full swing and the Muslims have infiltrated our nations. They are using our own weaknesses, a willingness to accommodate their beliefs and not "insult" them, against us. They laugh at us. They know if they can get us to bend far enough we will abandon our own beliefs and adopt theirs.
And that has been their goal for the past 1,300 plus years.
Can we see that the goal is being attained every time people like those at this church do such inane things?
Be yourselves. God knows who we are. Don't turn your back on your own faith because someone challenges it. Otherwise you never really had it to begin with did you?
