Reversing their earlier decision.
By Tu Thanh Ha, Ingrid Peritz, and Bertrand Marotte in the Globe and Mail, with thanks to Doc Washburn:
TROIS-RIVIÈRES, QUE., MONTREAL and SAINT-EUSTACHE, QUE. — With three days left in one of the most tightly contested elections in decades, Quebec's electoral officer yesterday reversed his decision to allow Muslim women to vote without having to lift their face veils to identify themselves.Chief Electoral Officer Marcel Blanchet invoked emergency powers to change his mind on one of the controversial minority-rights issues that have roiled the campaign and led to death threats, public outrage and repeated criticism by Parti Québécois Leader André Boisclair.
Mr. Blanchet said his office had been inundated with calls and emails about his decision to allow women to wear the niqab when they voted. His staff was worried and he was assigned two bodyguards. He feared some angry voters would turn out “in the craziest disguises you can imagine” and disrupt Monday's election.
Mr. Blanchet said it was troubling that he had to reverse his position. “Personally, I would have preferred not to do it. But my concern is to ensure everything unfolds normally, and there won't be somebody crazy who will cause trouble on Monday.”

Yes because wearing a veil isn't crazy, it's those looney voters demanding fair elections HA!

Yeah, except he said that he "personally" didn't want to reverse his decision. I hope that is just his PR PC talking, and not his true opinion.

He isn't even doing it for the right reasons, and he would of preferred not to do it. I think he should be fired ASAP!!!
When somebody has not common sense, such as Blanchet, in such an important position it makes you wonder about what the heck is going on!

If these Sharia sympathizing Muslims don't like our laws or our ways then why don't they f***ing leave! We don't need them living off our taxes, yet alone our money and PC's supporting their cause for a totalitarian regime! I personally don't want them here!

If they want to wear the niqab and vote, maybe they should go to Saudi Arabia and do it. Wait a minute........that's right, they wouldn't be allowed to vote there! silly me.

I would feel more hope that if it was reversed because they knew it was wrong, not because they were forced too.

In a sane world, Blanchet woud be declared insane and committed to an institution. Insanity is what this whole thing ammounts to: a Chief Electoral Officer subverting the very process he's supposed to uphold. This guy could have taught the communists a thing or two about how massive electoral fraud can be committed with just a couple of veiled "women" voting multiple times.

There is a little, once obscure, town in Quebec where people made a stand. It has done its part to push this tiny light of hope for sanity into sight. More little obscure towns in the Free World will continue to make stands. More individuals standing up to the insanity of Political Correctness and country-destroying multi-culturalism delusion will make stands.
The unveiling of fascist, repressive, Borg-Islam and its infection of the softie Modern World (unprepared for barbaric 7th Century cult fanatics) has only begun. It will continue.
The true value of Star Trek:Next Generation's Borgs as being Islam now becomes clear. And here I thought it was a communist metaphor -- it is not. It is Islam.

Pssst. Monsieur. When the 6th Pillar starts to fall on you, break right. That's the way to go.

This lavish party is over the top

So the people who didn't like his ruling and complained, the people who wanted the same rules to apply to everyone, are crazy?
This reminds me of my years working for the left-leaning board of education. If you don't parrot the party line, you are treated like you're demented and slightly dirty.
It's too Orwellian for me.
My husband raises an excellent point: he wonders whose idea it was in the first place to change the rules?

to ummah person
"The Maldivian Democratic Party has also complained that the Buddha statue brought into the country for the party broke the law, which prohibits the promotion of any faith apart from Islam."
so you support a "fascist" totalitarian religious state which has a hatred and, dare i say it, racist attitude towards other cultures and religions?
you sir, are a bigot, a racist and a religious spiritual rapist.
you have proved once again that islam is intolerant of other cultures and religions and quite frankly it has no place on this planet. so please kindly take your ghoulish man made hate religion and stick it up your arse! go worship on the moon or somewhere far away from us normal folk.

Wait till 2008.. Hillary will be wailing/screeching: "If a woman wants to wear her burka while she is voting [for me and multiple times] that's noone else's business!"
I am more of a prophet than that fake from Meka. Wait and see. This comment - if it survives the cancelbots - will be in the archives!
