Austrian FM: Islam a reality in Europe

From PressTV:

Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik says European Muslims should play more pronounced social roles in Europe.

Frau Plassnik seems likely to get her wish.

She made the remarks at the inaugural ceremony of the conference "Islam in Europe" which was sponsored by the Austrian foreign ministry and aimed at reviewing avenues to bolster positive understanding between the West and Islam.

The Austrian Foreign Minister added that Islamic models of life at personal and social spheres should be given ample room.

Is the Atlantic Ocean enough room?

Also contributing to the conference were the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and religious as well as social science experts from both Islamic and non-Islamic countries.

"Experts" -- thy name is Legion.

Plassnik noted that any body in Europe should accept Islam as a social reality, while calling on Muslim communities to try to integrate their communal beliefs and convictions into the social fabric of the European culture.

Super. Be sure to let us know how that goes.

Elsewhere in her speech, the Austrian FM called for an increased social presence by Muslim women in Europe, and promised that a future conference themed "Women in the Middle East" will be held in Vienna in the coming months to explore the issue.

Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Islamic Religious Authority in Austria Anas al-Shafqa referred to a recent case in which a German judge reportedly cited the Muslim holy book, The Quran, for turning down a Muslim woman's divorce plea on the grounds that her husband beat her. Al-Shafqa said such a case is by no means a representation of the Muslim faith.

Well, thank goodness for that!

Please, don't even joke about it - knowing them, they'd convert the sharks to Islam, just as they did the jinns. Posted by: Infidel Pride [TypeKey Profile Page] at March 25, 2007 2:13 AM

Fatalism is not supposed to be a European trait. One usually speaks of "Oriental fatalism" and by that is meant not something to be found in the Far East, but among Muslim peoples. Inshallah-fatalism doesn't look good on non-Muslims.

In 1946 -- surely the Austrian minister recalls --7 million (or was it even fewer?) Czechs (that is, Czechs and Slovaks) expelled from Czechoslovakia 3-3.5 million ethnic Germans. They did so because, before the war, under Heinlein, the leader of the "Sudeteners" (the Germans who lived in the "southland" -- that is in Czechoslovakia, all along the border -- and who became for Hitler such a useful cause. All through 1938 he could hardly speak of anything else except the supposedly cruel treatment of the "Sudeteners" by the Czech government. Nazi agents gave Heinlein orders: start riots, so that when the Czech police put down those riots, their actions will be depicted as those of "brutal" Czechs "suppressing" the "Sudeteners" who were merely "demanding their legitimate rights." And so they did, and so the papers, including the London Times, reported, and so was Czechoslovakia, in truth the most advanced, tolerant state in all of Eastern or Central Europe, had its name blackened in the very countries that would find such blackening made it easier for their leaders to betray the Czechs at Munich. And those pictures of Heinlein's parents, so gemutlich (you can find an example in the Life Magazine anthologies -- the aging mother and father of Heinlein, in their cottage, a picture taken by Marguerite Bourke-White). Tugs at the heart strings, if you don't know better.

During the war, the ethnic Germans in Czechoslovakia were treated, like ethnic Germans in other conquered lands, as "Volksdeutsche," and given the food rations of Germans (as opposed to what the non-Germans got) and otherwise were, so many of them, treated so very well and, in return, were happy to collaborate with their fellow members of the Deutschtum.

After the war, Masaryk (Tomas, son of the even more famous Tomas who founded modern Czechoslovakia in 1919) and Benes and every other thinking Czech, was determined that, even though Germany lay in ruins, never again would the people of Czechoslovakia have to take a chance, never again would they have to endure such a threat to their security. And they decided to expel all of the ethnic Germans, and did so. It was the famous Benes Decree, or rather one of the series of Benes Decrees, that removed what was correctly perceived as a potential threat, and removed it forever.

No one objected in Czechoslovakia. Not then and not later. Not General Ludovik Svoboda. Not the poet Jaroslav Seifert. Not Aleksandr Dubcek of the Prazhskaya vesna or "Prague Spring." Not Pavel Kohout. Not Vaclav Havel. Not Milan Kundera. Nor did anyone outside Czechoslovakia. Not Churchill or Truman or De Gaulle or later, Attlee or De Gasperi or anyone at all, not a single figure, not a writer, not a statesman, no one, in New York or London, or Paris or Rome, dropped a single tear, objected with a single syllable, to the removal of the ethnic Germans -- 3-3.5 millino of them -- removed, expelled, virtually overnight. Indeed, the only people who have objected at all ahve been right-wing revanchiste groups in Germany and Austria. And even if there were injustices done, that is because in all of politics, when large groups and not individuals are being considered, there will necessarily be some who should not have been considered part of the affected class. It is the the perennial problem, both of politics and law.

Why does one refer to the Benes Decree? Why does one note the absence of moral objection? Because what the Czechs, and the Poles, and man other countries did, expelling ethnic Germans after the war, because of what happened during the war, or what they reasonably foresaw, given the history of the past century, of a threat that might recur, could happen again.

Now an unheard-of event has happened. The source, the center, of Western civilization, Europe, could be transformed, and its entire legacy of art, science, and mental freedom, its achievements in every area, not one of which could have possibly occurred in the Lands of Islam, where "Islam dominates and Muslims rule," could be inherited by the wrong people, who cannot possibly understand, much less have any desire to preserve, them -- Muslims, who will have conquered only because Europeans compounded the initial error of admitting large numbers of them into their midst, and now, because of fashions in behavior and thought, are unwilling to do what would have seemed so obvious and so right not a thousand years ago, but merely sixty years ago, in 1946, in that most advanced and tolerant of Western lands, led by two of the products of high European civilization, Tomas Masaryk and Eduard Benes.

The current leaders of Europe who are unwiling to study Islam and to grasp its meaning, who refuse to see what a threaat it is, however packaged or smoothly presented by some smiling tariq-ramadans, should make way for those who have a sense of what can be lost, and take a more rational, and some would say -- quite incorrectly -- a harder view, precisely to the extent that they are passionately attached to, and know about, that civilizational legacy. But if you have no idea what it is in the first place, then it won't matter, and you will be happy to throw in your lot, or will not realize what you have inherited and what needs to be protected.

Plassnik deserves no quarter. But then, there are so many plassniks all over the place. They should be, possibly, in prison for treason. Instead, they are in power.

It is an incredible thing: it is all happening right before our eyes, and we cannot as yet find the leaders able to see this, and willing to do something.

Am I reading this correctly:

"referred to a recent case in which a German judge reportedly cited the Muslim holy book, The Quran, for turning down a Muslim woman's divorce plea on the grounds that her husband beat her."

A German judge, in Germany, presumably, would not honor a Muslim woman's plea for divorce, her desire for divorce from her husband because he beat her. Is that to say that this so called judge is condoning men beating women in his country? Now I don't know about you, but where I come from, the United States of America, short of fighting on the Hockey Rink, or in the boxing ring, any one beating someone else is quite illegal. Is that to say that this judge would honour the law of the Qur'an over the law of the land in Germany, where, presumably domestic violence is illegal. I'm not too keen on the specifics of the political climate in Germany, but yep... it appears multiculturalism is alive and well.

What Greg didn't quote over here, the article goes on to say....

"The judge argued wrongly that Islam authorizes the men to keep their wives under control even by beating. The ruling and the judge's false reasoning stirred storms of protests from politicians, legal experts as well as Muslim leaders in Germany, which ended up in the judge's removal from the case. "

Removal from the case?? What about removal from the bench permanently. The had better call on Donald Trump to come in and say "You're fired". Regardless of WHAT Islam authorizes or does not authorize, shouldn't a more relevant issue be what GERMAN law authorizes or does not authorize.

Folks, it boggles the mind.

"Islam" means Submission.
A "Muslim" is then a Submissionist.
"Islamic" can be rendered Submissionistic.

Read the article again with these substitutions. Using their terminology hides or disguises what the religion of Submission is all about. We have to change how we think and how we speak. Do not play by their rules; do not use their terms.

"Plassnik noted that any body in Europe should accept [Submission] as a social reality" -Indeed!!

It's also reality, that about 50% of the Muslims in West European countries are living on welfare, unemployment benefit etc, most of them don't even have the citizenship of the country, they are living in. Unfortunately the european multiculti politicians refuse to deport jobless foreigners. It's a mixture of weird reasons: multiculti-dreaming, muslims as cheap labour, and even some kind of helper syndrome, this may sound mad, but the more trouble there is with muslims, the more these politicians think, they can help somebody, which would makes them important according to their point of view. Of course in fact nobody is actually helped, there's just more trouble and more important feeling politicians.

Assalamau Laikum all,

Ursula is a good person recognising the truth, justice and good of Islam.

I have been saying all these things for years now...hopefully Allah will reward me by makiing "my" boots maker in my town an Ahmadi.

Social reality. What other things are social realities? Criminality? Drug addiction? Veneral disease? So, I guess in that context, Islam, too, is also a social reality.

Greg's one-sentence sarcastic responses (when I read the top of the article, I quickly scrolled down to find out just who on Jihad Watch would be writing in such a way) are really all that Plassnik's ridiculousness deserves.

The resistance to assimilation among German Turks was especially strong in the two-thirds of the community who were from the conservative and rural backgrounds. Neither Sen, nor anybody else in his institute, believed that they would become truly German any time soon. Far from settling into a European Christian milieu, the institute's researchers reckoned that one in five of the Turks in Germany were actively trying to convert Christians to Islam, an act they believed will cleanse their sins and open their way to heaven in the afterlife.

THE SITUATION OF THE KURDISH PEPLE IN THE EUROPEAN YEAR

quote

Atatürk's famous "Legacy to Youth" begins: "O Turkish youth" and ends with the sentence: "The omnipotence that you need exists in the noble blood that flows in your veins!"

...

The superiority of the Turkish race and the nobility of Turkish blood are frequently mentioned in Turkish literature and everyday discourse. For example, members of the left, the political opposition, etc. who advocate opinions different from the so-called "national" policy are often called "bloodless ones" or "people of degenerate blood".

We are becoming the Kurds in their Ottoman Empire.

If you want to enjoy Sunday mornings in peace thinking about what to do in peace, you have to speak up now. You have to fight this war now. That means posting comments in your local paper's website that you want all Muslim immigration or all immigration to stop.

It means finding out your rep's position on these issues and quoting that person's name and their position and then framing that with some fact. If they are for PC, you have to expose them. The same applies to your local paper's PC spouters. You must quote them and then quote a fact that disproves their statement.

This is what needs to be done to let their staff know that people think this. Its not what you believe privately that has consequences, its what you say and do.

That is indeed so. Multikulti Kowards. When's the next election in Austria? If only Benes could come to Autria and expel this Plassnik into the arabian Lebensraum!

She is a disgrace not only for Austria but for all of Europe.

Lord knows we got plenty of the self-hating sellouts by the name of Volker Beck and Claudia Roth. Imagine Dennis Kucinich and Wesley Clark and Nancy Pelos were heads of a party.. And Ted Kennedy in the mix. That's what's going on in Germany and in Austria.

Trust me, the people are in outrage at the bottom and noone is giving their grievances voice. The day will come that we will go Benes on the moslems who are stealing our money and our cultures.

These politicians will feel what it is like to get their heads shaved and to be subject to public scorn.

Muslims in Europe should "try to integrate..."?

But Islam is not to be dominated.

Didn't the Austrian twit get that memo yet?

What the 'realworld' translation of this dhimmitude drivel actually means is:

"Europeans should try to cringe more decorously as their Muslim overlords move in."

Our decrees, and our dispensing of the fictive reality from which we now operate in order to be able to issue our decress, we already have seen will require more than 3,000 dead.

If the Moslems' penchant for incrementalism holds, they'll prevail. If they pull another stunt, a big one, then maybe strength will emerge.

However, for example, looking at the candidate rosters in America and England right now, I wouldn't hold out much hope for that even after the big one.

... or what they reasonably foresaw, given the history of the past century, of a threat that might recur, could happen again.

Our collective foresight is occluded by institutionalized Marxist radicalism. Hell, these guys actually like Moslems, are rooting for them, and are wont to fund them in addition to awarding them all manner of special breaks.

"Islam" means Submission.
Would "submissives" be an acceptable synonym for Mohammedans? Not that I move in such circles, but I believe it is the term for the masochist in a relationship with a sadist.

U.K. School Kids Strap on Stab-Proof Vests as Knife Crime Soars

By Nick Allen

March 22 (Bloomberg) -- Ashgar Jilow used to sell stab-proof vests to nightclub bouncers and security guards at his London military surplus store. Now his clients are kids as young as 10 who fear they're going to be knifed at school or on the street.

..

Juvenile knife crime first grabbed the public's attention in the U.K. when 10-year-old Damilola Taylor was fatally stabbed by other youngsters on his way home from school in Peckham, east London, in November 2000.

Prime Minister Tony Blair opened a community center named after Damilola in 2001. In February 2004, a 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of stabbing another teenager at the facility.

Plassnik ... calling on Muslim communities to try to integrate their communal beliefs and convictions into the social fabric of the European culture.

I like the "communal belief" about wife-beating. Keep those uppity feminist foreign ministers in their place.

Elsewhere in her speech, the Austrian FM called for an increased social presence by Muslim women in Europe ...

No matter how you cut it, that's just plain hillarious.

On the one hand, one can guarantee that there will certainly be "an increased ... presence" of Muslim women in Europe.

On the other hand, you can bet that if they are properly "Muslim" it surely won't be a "social presence" in any normal sense, because they'll be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

My father actually attended this conference in Vienna - he assures me that the non-Muslim participants were very willing to pose direct, hard and unpleasant questions to the Muslims attending the conference ... and some of the Muslim participants were even willing to engage in self-criticism.

I think that the apex of rose-tinted multiculturalism is behind us - the willingness of the vast majority of Europeans to demand that their political elite not engage on dhimmitude is rising.
