An update on the plight of churches in Nigeria. "Nigeria - Muslim extremists set church on fire," from Compass Direct:
GOMBE, Nigeria, March 29 (Compass Direct News) – Two days after the killing of a Christian teacher in this town in northern Nigeria, Muslim extremists set fire to a church building of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) in the Chanchanya section.
The Rev. Rukun Gaius, 50, chairman of the Gombe district of the ECWA, told Compass that a large number of Muslim extremists went to the church on Friday night (March 23) and set it on fire, gutting the sanctuary.
“The Muslims came to the church premises at about 11 p.m. to set the church on fire,” Rev. Gaius said. “People around the area and some of our members who saw the church burning rushed there put it out, but by then much damage had already been done to the building.”
The 500 members of the church must now “worship and conduct their church programs in the open,” Rev. Gaius said.
Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin, a teacher at Government Secondary School of Gandu in Gombe, was clubbed to death by Muslim students and outside extremists on March 21 after a student accused her of desecrating the Quran by touching a copy.
Rev. Gaius, who is also vice chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Gombe state chapter, said security reports to CAN show that Muslim extremists have marked out 15 more churches to be burned down.
“We have received security reports that 15 more churches have been earmarked to be burned, and that’s why you met us holding the emergency meeting at the Bishop’s Court [residence of the Anglican bishop of Gombe diocese],” he said.
The Gombe district of the ECWA has about 15,000 members and 57 local congregations.
The burning of the sanctuary of the ECWA church in Chanchanya, Rev. Gaius said, is not the first in the state. Arson and other attacks on Christians have characterized their lives for years, he said.
[...]
“Our religious rights are being violated daily,” Gaius said, and the government “has not made effort to protect us.” Rather, the Islamic government of the state encourages discrimination and crimes against Christians, he said.
The problems confronting Christians, he said, are related to the state having adopted sharia (Islamic law), which “encourages persecution of Christians.”

Isn't it time to start burning down mosques in Nigeria and other places where there are a large number of Christians?
I know this goes against the Christian belief, but at some point muslims need to understand that what goes around comes around. The more we sit back and allow this to happen to our churches, the more it will occur. Islam regards kindness as weakness. The only thing the degenerates of Islam respect is the sword. Let's give it to them!

*Sigh* ....... Indeed, the more I read about these matters, the more dismayed I become. It appears that the world is indeed rushing headlong into a cataclysmic bloodbath, courtesy of "the Religion of Peace!"
Sometimes, when I am at work, some of my co-workers will discuss finances, investments, retirement accounts, etc. When people ask me what I invest in, I tell them I invest in brass....... cartridge brass.

You can get a better deal when you buy it by the crate.

From the article
Two days after the killing of a Christian teacher in this town in northern Nigeria, Muslim extremists set fire to a church building
I don't know, it sounds pretty peaceful and tolerant to me. Maybe the UN is right to condemn anyone who sees a link between Islam and violence.

What a sad state of affairs this has become. Tell this to the folks on the left and they will tell you that those "Evil Christians" should not have churches there in the first place. Western societies are analogous to a large flock of ostriches, and Islam is the lion. All the ostrich's stick their heads in the ground; they all know the lion is coming, they are also aware that the lion is going to devour one of them. After the lion feeds on the ostrich it's of choice and it's hunger is satisfied for the moment. The birds return to their daily routines and are thankful the lion devoured some other poor bird. Eventually he will eat them all if they continue to pretend he is no threat..at least at the moment.
We need strip away the religious cloak which Islam hides behind and deal with it's ideology. It is a malignant rapidly spreading cancer...and it will kill what we know as civilization if we do not find a cure. It is time for people to stop referring to Islam as "The Religion of Peace", and recognize it for the murderous and bloody cult that it is. Thanks for letting me rant. It's good to know there are folks out there who REALLY DO know what is happening.

Now it's "desecrating" the Qur'an for a non-Muslim simply to touch one? How do Muslims expect non-Muslims to want to convert to Islam if they can't even touch the book to read Muhammad's "prophesies"?
This cult becomes a bit more illogical by the day.

"This cult becomes a bit more illogical by the day." This is a very good point. staff_of_magius.

Maybe they should complain to the UN "Human Rights Council" then. Ooops, I forgot, the UN ruling only protects Islam...
Just watch, as soon as any persecuted Christian or other dhimmi complain about the way Muslims are treating them, the Muslims will accuse them of defaming Islam and will trot out this new UN pronouncement as if it represents some legally binding obligation upon the dhimmi not to fight back.

This does not suprise me because as the gospel goes out to more peoples, attacks are sure to follow. Also the Muslims forget that it is by blood that is shed by many Christian followers of Christ that the seeds of new Christians comes about. In Africa this is happening with new believers coming everyday to faith in Christ and are leaving Islam behind.

Only the mad respond to an invitation to love with violence.
Islam is lame.

TRADITIONAL MUSLIMS TURN HOMICIDAL KORANIMALS.
APPARENTLY THE TEACHER UNKNOWLINGLY TOUCHED A BAG THAT CONTAINED A KORAN AND PUT IT ON THE FLOOR.
Tats all it takes for the peaceful muslims to turn into koranimals sready to kill. here is the story. http://www.crosswalk.com/news/religiontoday/11532579/
Moral: When you are a dhimmi in muslim land, you don't have to knowlingly insult islam, koran, muslims or muhammed to get an instant death sentance from muslims.

Here's a security report update: they're ALL marked to be burned, sooner or later, and that's why we're having an emergency meeting at JW/DW [residence of Robert, Hugh, Marisol, Greg, and the rest of the JW/DW team].
