Music: it's an "un-Islamic business."
Sharia Alert: "Pakistan: 'Taliban' Give Ultimatum to CD Sellers to Wind Up Their Businesses," from AKI, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
Islamabad, 3 April (AKI/DAWN) - A group known as the Khadim-i-Islam Taliban in Pakistan have given an ultimatum to CD and audio and video cassette sellers in the Pakistani capital Islamabad to close down their business within a month otherwise they would be left with no alternative but to do it by force. In a letter distributed to CD and cassette sellers in Aabpara Market, Super Market and Jinnah Super Market in the capital, they suggested to the shopkeepers to quit this "un-Islamic business" and switch over to another. The group claims that the CDs and casettes carry material that is obscene and vulgar. The letter said: “You must remember the doomsday when everybody will be worried about himself and all relatives will desert you.” They said Pakistan had been created in the name of Islam, and added that it was an irony that after the creation of Pakistan the people who came into power beat Europe in promoting obscenity and vulgarity.

...forget about individualism, creativity, or actually doing things for profit in order to have nicer things in life, like a house, a car, a bank account, nice furniture, food and a refridgerator, air conditioning, nice clothes,a tv, a satellelite dish, new shoes, etc.etc....

And all the little 'moderate' muslims will just quietly comply. Their numbers are supposedly greater - but they all just roll over like dogs.
The ones who know exactly how people are and will behave like are Stalin, Mao, all the thug rulers throughout the ages and... mohammed. the guy who these taliban thugs follow.
And it will get so bad that everyone will whine to the USA to fix their problems while we have fools in office who go to Syria and put on a scarf to prove her subservience to another islamic thug. And we sit by and let Saudi Arabia just sit by and do nothing and scarf up our money while we let them build more wahabbi based mosques over and above the 1500 they already have here, and pay for CAIR so that group can use thug tactics against our citizens (eg: the thug tactics being used against our citizens who had the 6 imams thrown out of the airplane, or who successfully gets websites shut down or to censor people who speak up against islam, etc).

Jack Valente is, or possibly was, the man with an interest in stamping out bootleg tapes, chiefly Chinese, of Hollywood movies, among the productions so optimistically described as "intellectual property."

This is a direct challenge to government authority. Islamabad has a population of over one million, this can't be a small time operation. If this goes unchallenged, the Talibanists will gain more and more power. The days of Musharraf's regime are numbered.

Best wishes to the Paki Taliban and a big shout-out to all the mullah bruthas who are working hard to eliminate our fake ally regime.
Best of luck to you. The sooner you establish the Islamic republic of Pakistan and put a theocracy in place, the sooner that we and the Indians can go in and confiscate all the nuke infrastructure.
May the True Believer succeed in their jihad against Musharraf and his apostate regime.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY
THE PERSONALITY OF SATAN
Satan, the feared adversary of God, displays some major features of a distinct personality:
1. Craftiness
Satan is a phenomenally intelligent being who is most crafty in his deceptions (Ephesians 6:11). Revelation 12:9 reveals his game plan for subverting the plan of salvation in premier fashion.
2. Subversiveness
Nowhere is this more apparent than in Matthew 4 where he attempts to seduce the Lord his God into sin with quotes from The book of Deuteronomy. He will use the most subversive means to sway the wicked of this world. Mercifully, we have the gracious provision of the eternal Word of God to save us.
3. Emotions
Knowing he has a finite time in which to operate, Satan vents great wrath ("thumon" in Greek) upon those he seeks to destroy (Revelation 12:12). His ego is penultimate since he seeks to usurp the Throne of God itself.
4. Persistence
In Ephesians 6:11, he schemes ("methodeia" in Greek) against unwary believers. In Revelation 12:9-10, he continually accuses them before God, prowling as a lion to devour whom he can (1 Peter 5:8).
Though Satan is subordinate and accountable to God (Job 1:7), his main motivation seems to be to destroy the elect -- those especially set apart by God for salvation. In Genesis 3, he started with Eve, faking her out with an ever-so subtle twist of Scripture - "hath God (really) said?"
Since the Garden, Satan and his malevolent minions have sought to thwart the very essense of human salvation -- the cross of Christ. After generations of deception, power displays and supreme chicanery (tainting the seed of men?), Satan has saved his best for last.
Be wary!

Only problem - CD's can't be sold, period. Jack Valente might have something to cheer about if the closure of such CD businesses means that bootleg CD's not get sold. However, under this setup, nothing can sell, so that nothing from Hollywood - be it 300, Perfect Stranger, Premonition - can sell.
But I'd love to re-settle much of the Hollywierd crowd into Pakistan, so that they can really appreciate artistic freedom when (and if) they are back.

Yup, everything that makes life worthwhile.
Reminds me when Ben & Pardner introduce Horton to a Good Cigar, Whiskey and a Woman.
"Horton: I know you don't approve, Pop, but believe me, until you've had a good cigar and a shot of whiskey, you're missing the second and third best things in life."

Good news, I think
It is likely in the long run to make other Muslims unhappy and prove contentious.
Forces them to look closely at their religion.
So we have
Barbers cannot shave men
No music
Forcing thier women into burkas is the next logical move.

Hey, they're too busy shaving the women. How are the razor cuts today, Nazeem.. the itching and the swellin?
as for Jack Valente.. he got Napster shut down. Long live Wired, Hotline, Pitbull, Limewire and acquisition to name a few :-)
When Madonna stands on a corner with a tin cup I'll start spending money on music again. When Bono KEEPS his fat yap SHUT I may buy something- from another band than U2 though.
The one I don't download make the most noise about being downloaded. The commercial 'artists' who have megazillions complain about a few files shared.
All the smart ppl out these don't listen to the commercial Top40 garbage anyway.
The real musos love the net because they get access to our ears for a change. What Jack Valenti and them hate about downloading is the same thing that led Dan Rather to vilifile the net as a haven of "anarchists, nazis and perverts" when the www first crept into the consciousness of mainstream society.
They are losing their audience - that is what bothers them.

Without music, they can listen to the sounds of their beards growing.
Mohammad's favorite tune: dead silence.
Broken by the 5 times a day 'goat being disembowelled with rusty shovel' sound of the muezzin howling over your head.
And no pictures. Mohammad hated pictures, too.
Maybe because he was such a purulently ugly s.o.b.

Hmmm...
I bet John Cage's "4:33" would be a HUGE hit in Pakistan!
(John Cage's "4:33" was a piece in which the musician merely went through the motions of playing a piece; where upon he or she was utterly silent. The background noise of the audience, or the general acoustical environment was meant to be actual "music.")

Here are two rally organizers (Mike Staunch and Shemon Salam) trying to defend themselves, but they ended up being really offensive:
There is also a story posted on littlegreenfootballs about the rally.
THE OFFENSIVE GROUP WHO ORGANIZED THE RALLY, "ANTI-RACIST ACTION" (ARA), IS MADE UP MOSTLY OF NON-STUDENTS, AND THE GROUP OPENLY CALLS FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL AND AMERICA.
Anti-Racist Action can be contacted for interviews at wsu_ara@yahoo.com.

So I guess we will not have to deal with moronic islamofascist hate videos, pronouncements on modern media formats, computer hackers, internet chatroom "media jihadists", arab printed material or anything post 780AD.
Oh, wait, the fascists' restrictions on modern technology ONLY apply to the masses, not the islamofascist "elites".
