Islamic Tolerance Alert from modern, moderate Indonesia: "Indonesia: Justice in Religious Conflicts Appears Uneven: More Christians may face death penalty; Islamists get light sentences for beheadings," from Compass Direct:
BANGKOK, April 4 (Compass Direct News) – Justice dispensed in Indonesia’s religious conflicts seems to favor Muslims over Christians following relatively light sentences given to three Muslim extremists who beheaded three Christian high school girls in Poso, Central Sulawesi.On Monday (April 2), less than two weeks after an Indonesian court sentenced the extremists to prison terms of only 14 to 20 years, 12 Christians went on trial for murdering two Muslims. The murders took place during the unrest that followed the September 22, 2006 execution of three Catholics – Fabianus Tibo, Marinus Riwu and Dominggus da Silva – whose roles in a 2000 Muslim massacre were far less clear than that of the extremists who beheaded the schoolgirls.
In the beheadings case, an Indonesian court on March 21 sentenced Hasanuddin (who goes by a single name) to 20 years and Irwanto Irano and Lilik Purnomo to 14 years each. The men could have received the death sentence, but Judge Udar Siregar said he treated the defendants leniently because they confessed to the crime and expressed remorse. He also cited their cooperation with authorities.
Their victims, randomly selected as a “sacrificial gift” for the Muslim festival of Idul Fitri in October 2005, were Ida Yarni Sambue, 15, Theresia Morangke, 16, and Alfita Poliwo, 19. A fourth girl, then-15-year-old Noviana Malewa, survived the attack but received deep machete wounds to her face and neck. The 34-year-old Hasanuddin, who led the Poso subdivision of Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), a terrorist network spanning all of southeast Asia, initiated the plan – while 29-year-old Irano and 28-year-old Purnomo staked out the route used by the girls, bought the machetes and dropped the girls’ heads at various locations in and around Poso.
Purnomo had also confessed to the shooting of Christian lawyer Ferry Silalahi; involvement in the shooting of the Rev. Susianty Tinulele; the bombing of Immanuel church; and the beheading of a Christian village chief in Poso.
Hasanuddin, Irano and Purnomo were arrested in May 2006. Their confessions directed police to a number of Islamic terror cells based in Poso, run by JI and an affiliated group, the Mujahidin Kompak.
Police negotiated for months with JI and Kompak leaders, hoping for the voluntary surrender of at least 24 suspects. When negotiations failed, they launched two raids on JI cells in January.
In the murder of two Muslims last September, the 12 Christians were charged after violent protests that broke out following the executions of Tibo, Riwu and da Silva. The brief outbursts that followed the disputed convictions and executions sparked fears of renewed sectarian violence.
Conflict between Muslim and Christian communities in Central Sulawesi erupted in 2000 and continued until a peace agreement was signed in December 2001. Sporadic violence has continued since then, with the majority of victims being Christians.

.....A festival that accepts beheaded young girls as "gifts" is quite unlike any Chritian "festival" I have ever seen...

Could anyone but the politically correct crowd in the West be surprised by this news? After all, in a Islamic courtroom, a Christian's testimony is worth half or less than a Muslims. According to Islam, Christians places of worship and their holy days are worthless, while one torn page of a Koran can bring days of riots and death. Christian females are worth even less than Muslim women, according to the Islamic playbook. What is surprising is that these murderers of the school girls got any jail time at all..When the dust settles, I bet that they only serve a year or two, and then are released in conjunction with one of the Muslim "holy days."

'Ali replied, 'No, except Allah's Book or the power of understanding which has been bestowed (by Allah) upon a Muslim or what is (written) in this sheet of paper (with me).' Abu Juhaifa said, "I asked, 'What is (written) in this sheet of paper?' Ali replied, it deals with The Diyya (compensation (blood money) paid by the killer to the relatives of the victim), the ransom for the releasing of the captives from the hands of the enemies, and the law that no Muslim should be killed in Qisas (equality in punishment) for the killing of (a disbeliever).

The problem with all we anti-Jihadists is that our voices are going unheard. Really, how many people even know of these sites (Brussels Journal, Jihad Watch, Dhimmi Watch, LGF, Gates of Vienna, God Help Britain, Up Pompeii, et al), let alone visit them?
How much longer are we going to complain about the MSM? Are we hoping that things will change by themselves?
How can we be content with small rallies, speeches to tiny audiences, meetings that attract mere handfuls of people?
If we are to be forced to be intolerant of intolerance, then how can we accept that Leftist thugs can disrupt our activities at any time? Where is the protection? Better, where is the retaliation, distasteful as it may be? Why not make thugs run for cover instead of cowering from them?
How can we make our voices heard?
We need to gather our resources together. Our problem is a lack of knowledge that there are others out there. Who will go to a rally knowing that only 15 others are going to turn up? Who will go to a meeting that thugs are threatening to invade?
We need more than the internet. Our voices are lost here. We need hard-copy press. We need to gather our money, our expertise, our ideas, and create our own media outlet. We need to get lawyers working for us. We need a lobby. We need to take the propaganda battle to a new level. We need to meet lawsuits with countersuits, we need to picket, to make our voices heard in the media, we need to build numbers so that the safety they promote encourages yet more to come out of the woodwork. We need to make this a war of information, for only then can the other elements fall into place.
Where can we begin?

Are they allowed to see the knife? Do you have to face Mecca and say the tasmiyah? Are the restrictions on the blade length, sharpness and the stroke the same as halal slaughter?

It is an unislamic practise to behead non-combantant girls. The criminal for this act showed remorse and co-operated with the authorities. Indonesia is not an Islamic country thats why these criminals got jail terms instead of a strike to the neck as shariah commands. Indonesia follows a flowed system called democracy that says it is okay to be gay, pedophile, murderer, whore etc

Yes INNOCENT non-combatants whether children or women MUST not be killed under any circumstance. It is somewhat difficult to feel sorry for the Israeli case you sited. However it is still morally wrong to slaughter INNOCENT CHILDREN WOMEN. No excuse can Justify that in my book.

Oh, they probably don't know about it. This is a big problem - only a few people know about this because our press/TV/radio/politicans is insufficent. And because of this - the muslims can get away with disinformation on campuses because they have a voice, and make sure that no one else gets heard. And this goes for Fox news too. I will admit that they have more than the other stations and they have a larger audience - but it is still insufficient. This needs to be put into people's faces. And then we will get people stopping their appeasement of muslims - and stop tolerating the intolerant and that goes for all those so called 'moderates' too that do absolutely nothing to stop this. Oh, but why should they?! They are following their koran.

concerned citizen: You are right. I consider all children 'pure' and 'innocent' whether they are growing up in a Muslim home or a non-muslim home. People think or have the mistaken notion that Muslims inherently hate Jewish people and would like to see them utterly destroyed. They argue our hatred for Jews is so deep that we will even kill their children. An outrageous lie. If this were the case, there wouldn't have been a single Jew walking on this planet. I once helped an elderly Israeli woman and her child board a plane after they got lost.
As a Muslim, I differentiate between a zionist jew worthy pain and an innocent jew (innocent from the war on Islam but still guilty of disbelief - thats for God to Judge) who just wants to live his/her life uninterrupted by a violent death.
