Gee, I wonder which non-Christians. By James Mills in the Daily Mail, with thanks to Kasper:
It is hard to imagine anyone being offended by a hot cross bun.But kitchen staff at Poole Hospital in Dorset claim they were banned from handing out the traditional Easter treats in case they upset non-Christians.
The decision left patients bemused and disappointed and prompted an angry backlash from staff in the catering department.
In an email to their local paper, sent on Good Friday, the caterers said: "We the kitchen staff of Poole Hospital were disgusted to find that the patients were not getting hot cross buns this morning.
"The manager of the catering department said he was worried about the ethnic minorities that work here."
The workers, who do not want to be individually named, said they had been inundated with calls from nurses on the wards asking why there were no hot cross buns.
Hospital bosses were forced into a U-turn on the issue after complaints from patients and buns were given out, along with an apology, on Easter Monday instead.
The ban is seemingly the latest example of official bodies attempting to remove the religious message from Christian festivals in the name of policital correctness.

I did not expect pieces from The Onion to leap out of the computer monitor, or Monty Python skits to do the same out of the TV screen. Apparently we have reached the day that they do, with maddening regularity. Pray that the dhimwits will be removed from their positions of power soon, otherwise we will have the scenes from Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street leaping out of the cinema canvas, G-d forbid.

Yes, and the good thing is that this is happening more and more in Britain today. I wonder when the PC/multiculti zealots will finally come round to the idea that they’ll get more stick from the enraged natives than offended Muslims, so won’t attempt dhimmitude in the first place. I like to think William Blake was right – “If a fool persists in his folly he will become wise”.

There is a rumour that the BBC banned hot cross buns in its canteen years ago so posters will not be surprised at the following “joke” on a BBC Radio 4 programme on Easter Saturday evening.
In a discussion programme the presenter reminded listeners that it was the second anniversary of the death of the great Dave Allen. This was an Irish comedian resident in Britain and renowned for lampooning Christianity and his own Roman Catholicism in particular. The presenter then told one of his jokes as follows,
“Christ arrives in heaven and is looking for his father as never having seen him he does not know what he looks like. He meets an old man who is very concerned who says he is looking for his son, so Christ asks him what does he look like?
Well says the old man “He has holes in his hands and feet.”
“That's me!” says Christ
The old mans face lights up and he cries, “Pinocchio!””
I SENT THEM THE FOLLOWING E MAIL
Sir/Madam
I was listening to Saturday Review last night which ended with a topical Easter joke of /in memory of/ Dave Allen. It concerned Christ getting to heaven and being mistaken for Pinocchio. I would not dream of complaining that this is grossly offensive to Christians particularly at Easter as that would mark me down as the lowest form of life for people like yourselves; a humourless bigot.
I would however like to ask two questions. The first is - I assume you anticipated some complaints about this and will list all people who do complain. Would I be correct in assuming the longer this list, more satisfaction you will get and the more you will laugh at the complainants? Secondly. Have you got similar appropriate jokes that you could run at the start Ramadan and/or Eid? For some strange reason the comic potential of some aspects of Islam is seldom exploited.
One does not of course need to restrict your humour to specific festivals. A joke or two about Muslim martyrs arriving in paradise and querying the selection of their 72 perpetual virgins could be used at any time. Except of course immediately after a bomb has gone off but I expect you would be sensitive about that.
As an after thought. You must have anticipated complaints about this but did you consider that you might increase the amusement of the contributors and production team by running a sweepstake on the number received?
THEY HAVE SINCE REPLIED
Thank you for your message, but I think you must have got the wrong programme. Saturday Review did not carry any such joke as you suggest “at the end of it”.
NOTE!
I thought it was told “at the end of it.” But it was almost certainly told in the course of the programme. This is the kind of “Conditional truth” now common in British MSM and government.
Did any other JW poster catch it between 6.30 & 8.00pm Easter Saturday?
MY COMMENT
This is an indication of the extent of the contempt the British intelligentsia has for Christians and Christianity and is in direct contrast to their attitude to Islam. Hot cross buns banned - why not?

@ Fred
BBC never misses a trick when it comes to ridiculing other faiths as long as its not islam. Christianity is regulary lampooed by the characters in their flagship soap EastEnders. Wasn't there a case recently when one of its news pesenters was denied to wear a cross around her neck?
However, when it comes to islam, they go all weak at the knees and readily offer up their derier for a quick islamic satisfaction.
But this happened in Poole Hospital in Dorset! How many muslims actually live there? Not ANY, I suspect. This is a pure case of officials exaggerating their own self importance.

If anything, it should be the Christians who should be offended. Imagine, a symbol of Christ's suffering, nailed to a Roman cross, dying a slow, tortureous and agonising death for all of humanity, being offered up as a hot pastry!

How about Hindu Swastika breadsticks?
Or Buddha-tooth toast points?
(But 'Roses of Mohammad' buns -formerly known as The Danish- would probably start a riot. Which is what Islam tends to descend to: a [non-laugh] riot.)

In a funny kind of way the PC Neville Chamberlains are acting like unwitting agent provocateurs. They succeed best at anoying the natives and simultaneously giving credence to the idea that Muslims are increasingly small-minded and periennially upset.
We now know that they eschew alcohol even when used for hygienic reasons. They don't like pigs whether they're porcelain money-boxes or nursery rhyme characters. And those lovable and hard-working guide-dogs are also unwelcome.
Bizarre though, that Muslims can preach hatred and scream for murder on the high streets with impunity but denying someone a seasonal bun is intolerable.

Britain has lost its mind. First it was changing the name the "Three Little Pigs", because it might've offended Muslims (thankfully overturned), then the teaching of the Holocaust in schools was dropped to avoid offending Muslims, and now this. Britain's got a long way to go if it wants to cease entirely offending Muslims--nothing less than the whole country converting to Islam and replacing the government with Sharia would probably solve that problem--but these small issues will grow into larger ones in time.

Police have launched an investigation after violent clashes involving up to 200 people outside a mosque.
Crowds gathered outside the Central Mosque in the Uxbridge area of Burton in Staffordshire on Monday evening.
The clashes, which lasted five hours, followed tensions among people who use the mosque and is the second such incident in two years, police said.

Britain has not lost its mind
99% if Britons have contempt for such values, it is just that people occupying positions of power, fall over themselves to display Political Correctness and Dhimmitude.
Councils, Schools, the BBC, some left-wing newspapers, the current Government all do this.
Thankfully, the Daily Mail, Times, Sun (a lot of Murdoch newspapers) all fight this. But so far, we dont seem to have
When Robert/Hugh posts these articles, it is NOT representative of how most Britons think, not by a long way.
But we do need to challenge the PC attitudes prevalent in many of our institutions.
And there have been numerous cases where a School adopts a non-politically correct position, only to cave in on threat of lawyers and court.
The key is the Government. If they are sending the wrong messages, other institutions take their cue. We need to signify that since Britain has been heavily influenced by Protestant Christainity, the dice will be loaded towards that in terms of cultural outlook.

Schwaben: I believe that no less an authority than the Larousse Gastronomique credits the bakers of Vienna with the creation of the crescent-shaped roll. And the notoriously unreliable Wikepedia notes an alternate claim that they were a Polish creation, inspired by the Frankish defeat of a Muslim invasion at Tours, it also offers the French themselves actually called the delicate flaky pastries Viennoiserie.
Wouldn't it be appropos for such a demand to be put forth by France's Muslim population. But unlike the Brits, the French are a lot less reticent to "offend" and would tell the offended that they can eat Gugelhupf (a shapely cake-baking pan intended to resemble a turbaned head.
I guess if a country can stop teaching the Holocaust in its elementary schools for fear of offending a certain demographic that either denies it ever happened or deems it wholly justifiable it can find a rationalization for not "offending" this same population with the sight of a raisin-studded bun decorated with a cross.

Again it's the Devil infested possessed people who cannot stand it. They are leading the way to ban Christ as the Devil puts his spell on people.
Where was the spirit of spreading the Good news now? Is it not the people who don't believe more important to be saved or are we just making the ones who don't want people saved have priority to blind the soul? Shame on all parties involved watch the world being given to Evil as every chest piece will be a victory for evil and every Muslim who has that victory can reflect who really wrote their religion as so much is common, but their are more alliances involved not just other religions who promote anti-Christ victim hood.
