Pigs aren't really the issue.
The issue is authority, or lack thereof. How can 9-10 year olds be in charge of a class? There should be severe punishments for the children and their destructive ways. If continued, the parents of those children should be punished also...reduction of benefits, mandatory classes for the parents to attend to teach them how to parent and how to fit into mainstream society. I remember a film about six months ago or so that showed a teenage Muslim slapping a Dutch teacher. The teacher did nothing, which enraged the student even more..the other kids did nothing either. It was so pathetic...the school system also has a obligation to their native, non-Muslim students. That shouldn't be too hard to figure out and proceed accordingly.

Back in the last century I worked in a theme park that featured animal acts. One of these was a barnyard revue, the star of which was a large hog. The other handlers had a grudge against this animal and treated him like worse than dirt. He rewarded them by misbehaving and running off into the audience.

I was low man on the totem pole and one of my jobs was to clean animal cages in my spare time. This pig's enclosure was a wire wrapped concrete slab with no shade. The summers in my neck of the woods can be brutal and I did my best to make sure the poor pig and his enclosure was hosed off several times a day. I also made sure, when I was working as handler, that he got a snack before the show.

That pig never gave me a bit of trouble.

Contrast that with the largesse that the West had poured into Islam infected areas and the consequent rewards.

I'd rather deal with pigs.

What it's really about is that when something at its core is spiritually empty and false, one has to make a big huge external, but ultimately superficial fuss, in order to compensate for that emptiness and vacuity.

That pretty much sums up the real psychological reason that Muslims, alone among religions, make such a damn fuss and ostentatious external display of their beliefs. Because there's nothing THERE. And what is there, above and beyond what pre-existing religions like Judaism and Christianity and Hinduism already had to offer - is a pack of lies made up by a huckster. So naturally, having nothing to really depend on internally, Muslims make a huge fuss about all the external stuff as a cover for the lack of anything THERE. I just did a search of the koran. Pig did not come up even once.

And since the koran is THE word. Then NOTHING was said against the pig. NOTHING.

The hadith search only showed that TRADE of the pig is illegal. Along with alcohol, dead animals(their fat for lights,etc.) and idols. Not a word about eating pigs.

I suspect the reason Muslims have an aversion to pigs is because pigs are not as sexually accessible as goats; vegetables and small children.

I certainly understand the pig's sexual preference for other pigs over Mohammedans. Maybe it's this piggy integrity and independence of spirit coupled with rather high intelligence that had the superstitious and inferiority riddled Mohammedans decide that Christians were pigs!

Professor Yuanhui Zhang has spearheaded a project in which her students visit swine pens at nearby farms, collect pig excrement, and then drive it to a lab on the edge of the campus. There, the manure is pressure-cooked until it becomes a thick, black, energy-rich muck remarkably similar to crude oil, the Chicago Tribune reported.

As fuel prices climb, Zhang and her students are hoping to transform their pig droppings into petroleum that can be refined into industrial fuel.

"What's fascinating is that it's a relatively simple process," said Ted Funk, a researcher in Zhang's group. "Even though the process has complex chemistry, it's relatively short, requires almost no extra materials, and you get a nice energy output."

Zhang said the technique, called thermochemical conversion, was something she conceived of 10 years ago, when she began combating the growing manure problems on dense hog farms.

As they are "highly offensive" to Muslims, it appears that our politically correct leftist-run middle school system will soon no longer allow any pork products on school property. At Lewiston, ME Middle School, placing pork in the mere presence of Muslims is currently being called a hate crime. Note: Jews also believe pork is unclean but, there has never been any effort by the public school system to remove pork, in order to honor their religious beliefs. That is reserved solely for Muslims. For that matter, celebrations of Christian holidays are being summarily removed from the public school system, while Muslim holidays are commemorated--and Muslim foot washing basins and prayer rooms are being built. All manner of Islamic demands, no matter what the complaint, are being met and Islam is quickly and clearly being established as the "superior" religion in the USA--now in the public school systems and, no doubt, soon in the entire country.

well my opinion is that Muslims and their cult are the most vile of God's creatures because they have turned their back on our Lord the same Muslims hate dogs well I'm blind and seeing eye dog is something I want to get one-day in the first Muslim taxi driver that refuses me a ride because my service dog or shopkeeper that pulled the same stunt is going to get a very persistent stinkbomb left that will kill their business because of the smell but seeing as these people whipe there behinds with stones and their hands I very much doubt they would be able to smell the odor as for pigs they are very clean animal and the only reason they wallow in mud is to cool themselves and their very selective about what they eat and besides my favorite submarine sandwiches are the ham sub and tuna sub at Subway and I enjoy McDonald's egg mc muffin so if Muslims do not want to eat ham that's fine is more for me and Abdul I find the fact that Muslims will screw camels sheep and goats and themselves to be offensive or that they seem to think a woman sleeping in a van on her own is just asking for sex a two years back to dark skinned males with Somali accents opened the doors of my wife's camper Van while she was parked on the Causeway not far from Kennedy space Center waiting to watch a launch in the morning they informed her she was just the western prostitute because she was by herself at night the only thing was she was not alone she had Mr. Colt 45 under her pillow when she pulled it out and said leave all she heard was allha preserve us she's got a gun and they ran in my opinion anyone that tries to rape a woman alone is lower than a pedophile but then your precious profit was a pedophile and a rapist so I guess you just have a poor example it would appear that the pig and dog might be better examples for Muslims to emulate and by the way my wife was pure on her wedding night to me and is then loyal ever since how many Muslim men could say the same thing about themselves and marriage the pigs have better morals then most Muslims

Age 14: Firebombs a synagogue for the first time and gets arrested for the 100th time.

Age 21: Becomes a suicide bomber, killing himself and half a dozen innocent infidels as well.

And Caroline ? I care deeply about how dogs will be treated in a world dominated by islam. I seriously considered training my three dogs to attack anyone wearing a turban or a burqua. Sadly, they are all so good natured and love people so much I doubt they would just attack anyone - but I do believe they would defend me to the death.

Pigs do NOT eat their own excrement; but chickens do! Pigs are actually the cleanest of all farm animals. Anyone who has been raised on a farm knows this. The various diseases associated with uncooked pork are no more severe than the numerous diseases associated with poorly cooked beef or poultry. Or with eggs for that matter. And the danger of all of them pales in comparison with the vegetables cooked in "night soil" that are found throughout Islamic lands. The infidel kuffar of the West don't pour their raw sewage into the rivers from which we draw our drinking water!

Abdullah, a little education goes a long way.

Cats are reveared in Muslim culture...their mouths in fact are the most disease ridden things on the planet. Cats are MUCH filtier than dogs OR pigs. I should know because my daughter was bitten by the neighbor's cat and ended up in the hospital with an I.V. drip of heavy duty antibiotics because of infection...the bite was only a small puncture wound. Who can say a dog bite ever did that? Feral cats that end up in the sights of my 22 don't last very long, filty things.

In my part of Canada, teachers quickly learn not to act on their own authority. They must be supported by the school administration, school board and ministry of education. I suspect it is similar elsewhere.

If the teacher in that classroom disciplined the Muslim students who were violent and destructive (because that's what teachers do under normal circumstances) and then the parents objected vociferously and got politicians and "anti-racial hatred" and "anti-islamophobia" groups involved, the vice-principal, principal, school superintendent, and every authority all the way up would promptly fold and offer up that teacher as a sacrificial lamb.

The worst thing for today's bureaucrat, after being accused of sexual misconduct, is to be accused of racism. People know this and use it to their advantage.

So why should the teachers deal with the stress of trying to enforce normal codes of conduct if the school system will penalize them? It's easier for the school administration to decide to stop teaching a "non-essential" class on the basis of "sensitivity". It's a win-win situation, see? The teachers and non-Muslim students aren't in fear for their lives, the classrooms aren't trashed and, best of all, the school administrators get to demonstrate their non-racism.

On dietary laws: I'm Jewish, and keep the dietary laws. Indeed, I'm vegetarian. Often, I eat lunch or dinner with friends who look at me anxiously and ask if I mind if they order meat. I tell them that's their decision! They don't need my permission to eat what they want. Jews are never supposed to attempt to enforce our ritual laws on the rest of society. ("Each man shall walk in the name of his god...") Besides, I think pigs are funny. They're totally safe around me, that's for sure!

On teachers' authority: Josephine nailed it. I have been repeatedly discouraged by my superiors from enforcing official student conduct policies at our institution. Unless there's an imminent threat to life, limb or property, I must submit a report to the Counseling Center and let them handle it. One of my female colleagues was stalked by a student who made a choking gesture in her direction. She was forced to sit through a session with the student and counselor and listen to his paranoid accusations. Administrators and school boards have no spine. Give teachers real authority and then hold us accountable for how we use it!

The Hebrew Dietary laws are quite clear in Mosaic law. Pigs can not be eaten because their meat is unclean. There is also a list of other animals that can't be eaten. Most of these animals are "unclean" because thier digestive system has little filtering to rid the body of toxins, parasites, etc. Pigs eat anything and only have one stomach. Horseflesh is also unclean...again the one stomach thing. Crab, Lobster and shellfish are unclean because they are bottom eaters and can accumulate a high amount of bacteria and toxins. Catfish and Sturgeon (no scales) fall into the same category. The Mosaic Dietary laws were made for health reasons. If you've ever gotten sick from a bad oyster or had a parasite you will appreciate the laws even more!

I grew up with many Jewish kids and they never got upset at the sight of me eating a ham sandwich at lunch...never could figure out why they wouldn't trade with me though.

So what is this obsession that muslims have with pigs? There really isn't a logical reason to go apeshit over the sight of one. Is it really the fact that pigs (like dogs) just represent Western culture to them?

I read the story, and the words just popped into my head. It helped to pass an hour this afternoon when I should have been concentrating on work. But that's OK - April is a pretty quiet month for us folks at Santa's Grotto. But come December... Forgeddaboutit!
