More control order follies. "DNA loophole hinders terror police, says Reid," by Philip Johnston in the Telegraph, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Police are prevented by law from taking fingerprints and DNA from terrorist suspects on control orders, John Reid, the outgoing Home Secretary, admitted yesterday. The revelation shocked opposition parties who said it was the first they knew of this startling omission in the 2005 Prevention of Terrorism Act.Nick Clegg, the Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman, called it ''an astonishing revelation''. He added: ''It merely underlines the profound flaws in the whole control-order regime.''
Six people on control orders have absconded, their whereabouts still unknown.
Cerie Bullivant, 24, Lamine Adam, 26, and his brother, Ibrahim, 20, are among Britain's most wanted men after vanishing last month. The Adams's third brother, Anthony Garcia, was one of the fertiliser bomb plotters and was jailed for life in April.
Bestun Salim, an Iraqi, vanished from his Manchester flat last summer after being charged with seven offences of breaching his control order.
Another suspect, known only as AD, escaped from a mental health unit last September, and is alleged to have been a friend of Asif Hanif, a British man who detonated a suicide bomb in Israel.
The final absconder is a Pakistani who fled in January.

"TERRORISTS TO USE US COURTS
Fine, Democrats, have it your way. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved a bill yesterday, which will allow Guantanamo Bay detainees to challenge their imprisonment in US federal courts. Basically, terrorists can go through the US court system with the same rights as a US citizen – like little ole' you and me.
The bill passed without debate.
Republicans just gave up. They put down their political weapons and said, "Ok guys, let's just let them have Guantanamo." Are these the kinds of Representatives you want in office – the kind of people who will not fight for the basic ideals they believe in? Whimps. Not even a damn word on the subject.
Oh and thank you to RINO – that's Republican In Name Only – Senator Arlen Specter for voting in favor of the bill. You were the only Republican to vote for it. Congratulations. You maintain your status as King of the RINOs.
Why aren't our soldiers afforded the luxury of the US court system when captured by terrorists? Oh that's right! Because we are fighting terrorists. Because they have absolutely no regard for any one who does not bow to Allah. While terrorists get treatment in our court system, this is what Al Qaeda does with its prisoners.
But Democrats (and Arlen Specter) will continue to cry "poor terrorists." Any chance to undermine the United States.
You do understand, don't you, what this shows the Islamic terrorists? It shows them that we are weak. That we are losing our resolve. More goat's milk toasts in the caves of Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran are on tap for today!"
....the above paragraphs taken from Neal Boortz...But it shows the terrorist fight in more ways than bombs and bullets....It also shows we have amazingly stupid people in positions of authority....

There's something in the koran about a kuffar not being allowed to view the fingers of a devout muslim. It's islamophobic to take fingerprints and we should respect their wishes.

...there are many things in the Qur'an about kuffars and infidels...most involve death of the kuffars and infidels...
...it is time the kuffars and infidels began fighting back....and strive to stop the Islamic onslaught....Ban the Qur'an

KAOSKTRL : "To be fair they should not be allowed to peak under the hood either."
But in "regular" criminal cases they already DO!
I recall a case in the UK around 1985, when they had just introduced DNA to the world.
There was a 15-y-o girl murdered, and they had NOTHING...until they took DNA from all 3,000 young men in the small town where the murderer/victim lived!!!
So why is all of the "violations" Americans abhor okay for all crimes but that of terrorism???

If they don't want their devout Muslim fingers being viewed by a kuffar maybe they shouldn't commit crimes with their devout Muslim fingers in kuffar countries.

the UK police are prevented from doing alot of things, apart from harassing white anglo saxon students enjoying a pint or two, or stopping commuters in middle class neighbourhoods walking home from work. try asking a copper in london to arrest a gang of pakistani youths from pushing a stolen car into the middle of drummond street on a quiet saturday afternoon less than 100 meters from euston station transport police and see the response to your phone call, live. watch the limp wristed women of the once grand metropolitan police not spring into action.
