No Compulsion in Religion Alert. "The killers of Fr. Ragheed and the three deacons wanted their conversion to Islam," from AsiaNews:
Mosul (AsiaNews) – Before opening fire on Fr. Raghhed Gani and his three deacons, the killers demanded their conversion to Islam. These emerging details of the murder of the 4 Chaldeans have been posted by the Arab site Ankawa.com which in these last few days has been re-creating the ferocious nature of the Mosul attack through eye-witness accounts.
This information confirms the theory of a target murder, well planned and in step with the vast campaign of persecution against Christians currently underway in Iraq. So far there has been no claim of responsibility for the “senseless gesture”, as it was defined by Benedict XVI who [yesterday met] president George W. Bush in the Vatican.
In the interim a press statement released by Iraq’s highest authority for Sunni Islam, the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq (AMSI) has condemned the murder of the Chaldean priest and his three sub-deacons, which took place June 3rd last following Sunday mass. The declaration attributes all blame for the deaths to the “occupation forces” and the “current Iraqi government”. The Sunni academics also denounce the fact that “what is happening on the ground in Iraq is pure terror, killing and destruction, due to a total deterioration in security”.
While tensions rise, some politicised Christian groups in the United States are pushing for the creation of an autonomous region for the “Assyrians in Iraq”, which they see as the only solution for their survival. In the past local bishops on the ground have expressed their strong opposition to this “dangerous” project.
The Iraqi Ambassador to the Holy See, Assyrian Albert Yelda, agrees with the bishops. The diplomat described the Mosul killings as a “shameful crime, a tragic event for all Iraq”. “The government – he continued – condemns attacks, repression, and persecution against any minority”.
In an interview with AsiaNews he underlines that now, the priority is to “regain stability, guarantee security for the entire population and keep the country united, not create barriers”. “Now is not the time to speak of safe haven for Christians, an idea which I do not support at all” he underlined. “Christians must remain in their homeland and the government is doing all it can to guarantee their security not only in Baghdad, but also in those areas where terrorism has so far not taken over”.
Only “by remaining united, Christians, Muslims, Turkmen, Kurds and Yezidi will we be able to uproot this evil from Iraq and the entire region”. Ambassador Yelda underscored that “the issue of terrorism is a global problem; this is why the international community must provide the Iraqi government with the necessary means to quash this ideology of evil which they are attempting to impose on us”.
But how many Muslim groups in Iraq are willing to work with Christians as equal partners, not as subjugated people who are "protected" (i.e., as dhimmis) insofar as they are politically unproblematic?
“External elements – he added – are trying their very best to divide the government and the people; this is why the world cannot, must not abandon us. The International Community must remain by our side, because if there is no peace in Iraq, then there cannot be peace in the rest of the region."

There are no Iraqi Jews for these Islamic supremacists to lord over. In the 1950s those Jews fled to Israel where they no longer live as dhimmis. This drives the Muslims nuts. They are so used to intimidating Jews that they do it via external threats these days. Threatening to destroy Israel

I think it is time for the final crusade! How do you reason with the totally brainwashed who live in a world devoid of logic and sanity- and who ultimately want to do the same thing to us as they are doing the Chaldeans and other local Christian communities? Even "separation" would only be a temporary solution, since they will never stop.. Our forebears understood this.....
Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord..... (Go ahead sing it!)

Does anyone have reasonable estimates of how many Christians were in Iraq before the (2003- ) war and now? Where they are etc?
As far as the discussion that Pope Benedict XI had with Bush I would not take too much notice of it.
The Christians need to protect themselves somehow.
The Armenians (in Armenia)for example can do it by getting a few nuclear devices (3-4 from Russia) until they can develop their own deterrent. Otherwise, all Christians in the area will live in fear of the Muslims who are hell bent on mistreating them or worse.
They are reasonably safe in the secular Arab states. But for how long?

Inquiring infidels want to know if they also asked if they would submit and pay the jizyah protection money.
Otherwise this killing is not Islamically legitimate.
You gotta follow the rules before you whack somebody.
Convert, pay or die.
Get it straight jihadis!

Muslims are a people whose main object of hatred, the Jews, yet the Jews are the source of nearly their entire belief system.
Nearly a billion and a half Muslims claim the Old Testament's Jewish heroes as their own.
They accept the New Testament's Jewish Savior as their prophet. They even call the Jewish God "Allah", as if the obscure Arabian tribal god and the God of the Jews and Christians were one and the same. They believe the Jews' angel, Gabriel, dictated the Koran to Mohammed.
When Mohammed decided to mold the Arabs into a force, he chose religion as the way to bring them together.
The Arabs were scattered bands of nomads with no organized religion. Their religious ideas were various ancient myths. Their gods, one of which was Allah, were tribal gods, much as described in the Old Testament. Mohammed elevated Allah, the minor tribal god to the supreme position. But he lacked the authority to relate a new Bible. He chose Gabriel, an angel from the Jewish Bible to dictate the Koran.
The Arabs were pagans with no written history or many-faceted stories as the Biblical account of Abraham and his descendants.
So the writers of the Koran had to borrow great sections of the Jewish Bible, perverting it and falsely claiming it as their own. even including as their own the Biblical God. The last book of the Bible Revelation, was written long before the Koran.
Islam is indeed Jewish, and every Muslim is only a secondhand Jew.
Yet amongst the millions of secondhand jews/moslems do we find one who has a promille of this wonderful Jewish woman

What these murderers cannot face is that by killing the priest and deacons, they are already defeated. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church and these righteous men are true martyrs, holding on to Christ at the cost of their lives.
These men are among those that Saint John saw in his vision when he wrote:
". . . I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, 'How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?'
And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." Rev. 6:9-12
and
"And they overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." Rev. 12:11
May we too join in this prayer and say: How long O Lord...?

As long as it takes to eradicate this dread Death
Cult of Islam...
Anyone reassured by Georgie Boy mumbling to Pope-"minorities in Iraq protected by Constitution, democratic constitution" with a shifty eyed glance for the Press? What a vain, posturing idiot he is-in exchange for receiving a 'Hero's welcome in Albania' with their 140 soldiers fighting in Iraq [big deal]-he
ramps up pressure for giving another sovereign state's land-Kosovo- to his newest Muslim buddy.
This man cares nothing about the plight of Iraqi
Christians although professes to be a Christian himself.Anyway they like Serb Christians or Sudan's Christians are expendable for sacrifice to G.W's real Gods-MONEY & POWER! When I heard this Turd had been taken sick at G8, hoped with many others it might prove fatal. Don't suppose Cheney would be any improvement though.

"... uproot this evil from Iraq and the entire region”.
Why not simply eradicate it entirely?

Elias, I'm proud of you. Tell'em, sweety, you're trying to kill us and we're still kicking. Don't worry, I think ol' Benedict told GW that the next crusade's acoming if'in the don't stop messin with his brethren. Hey! Gimme a gun and I'll be your knight and shinin armor (even if I am a lady.)
P.S. I think you should be president if'in there is a new state called "Assyria"
