An update on this story. "Man jailed over 'Bible' rape," from AAP, with thanks to JE:
A MAN who raped a Muslim woman because she showed an interest in Christianity has been jailed for at least five years by a Sydney court.As Abdul Reda Al-Shawany was sentenced today, the Downing Centre District Court heard a harrowing statement from the victim, revealing that her shame and fear had been compounded by her cultural background.
The woman, who cannot be named, arrived in Australia as a refugee from Iraq.
But she said that even when she was jailed by dictator Saddam Hussein, she never feared for her life the way she did after the rape.
"It is better if I'm dead," she told the court.
Al-Shawany's trial was told that he visited the woman, an acquaintance, at Sydney's Villawood Detention Centre with another man.
The woman had been reading the Bible and Al-Shawany noted her contact with Christians.
The men told her they were "infidel people" and if she went with them, her killing "would be halal" - meaning her killer would go to heaven.
In September 2002, Al-Shawany lured the woman to a unit at Warwick Farm, claiming to have news about her family in Iraq.
She was hit on the head and had her hijab tied around her face before Al-Shawany raped her twice in what Judge Brian Knox described as a degrading, humiliating and brutal attack.
Afterwards Al-Shawany told her: "Let your Christ benefit you now".
It took the jury less than half an hour to convict him of two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

...every day, more and more Muslims are picking up the Bible and dropping the Qur'an and they like what they see...
....I suspect the Muslims frequent attacks on schools is due in part because they do not want the children to learn to read or to begin inquire about world events they hear about by way of TV, Radio, or the from stories they have heard from traveling relatives or neighbors...
....a childs natural response upon hearing something new or different is to ask "Why?"..

As the young woman may have discovered: "Islam is for losers."..

I never knew hate until my 39th year when I finally understood 'why they hate us.' Islam is a plague on both houses - the house of islam and the house of war. It must be disrespected, discredited, disintegrated, dissimulated and dissolved.
The world can be a real shitbag and we don't know the half of it from the perspective of our couches. I didn't want this fight, didn't look for it, really. But a man has to ask the questions and when he finds the answers sometimes it requires self-sacrifice. This is our watch - our turn and we'd better not fuck it up people.

Australian sentences are usually very short compared to US sentences for the same crimes. I watch murder sentences and first murder only seems to get 15 years here.

Another hate crime perpetrated in the name of Allah. For in Allah World, the intolerable crime of believing in a loving God, in redemption, in goodwill and peace for all mankind as brethren on this planet, seems to warrant the harshest treatment.
Rape, beatings, stonings, marriage to children...there is nothing Allah won't permit Allah's men to do to all women. Allah has the biggest, most successful 'Misogynists Only' club on the planet.

And yes indeed, as exsgtbrown stated above, Islam really is for losers. It's best to cleanse all infidel nations of it before they all become losers like all member nations of the ummah.

I don't know anything about Australian prisons but I hope that in one specific way, they are just like prisons in the US, Russia, and Latin America: a place where Abdul Reda Al-Shawany will get to experience often being brutally raped himself.
Let this punk learn firsthand the "humiliation" that he did to his victim.

You can be certain that if this Muslim raped the judge's daughter or wife, he would have gotten much more than five years.
The rabbis of the Talmud taught us, "He who is kind unto the cruel, will some day be cruel unto the kind." We see this every day, in how infidel governments in dar al harb show preferential treatment to Muslims, thereby facilitating Muslim cruelty towards their own citizens, whom they are supposedly sworn to protetct and serve. What travesty.

For those who think five years is not enough, I agree.
However, taking into consideration the remarkable number of activist judges we have here, I think five is a good number.
We had a case here a few years back where a fellos on trial for raping his ex-girlfriend was advised by the judge to change his plea from guilty to not guilty.
Another case from around the same time involved a young man who was on his way home from a bar, intoxicated on illegal substances and took a fancy to a woman he saw asleep on her couch through the window.
He broke into her house and sexually assaulted her and was let off with a slap on the wrist and an admonition to behave himself.
No links available, sorry, but they were all over the papers here in Melbournistan.
I'm hoping this case is an indication of a turning tide, but not crossing my fingers.

I think it would depend if they are interfaith Christians (which includes some conservative groups) or liberal (mainly Protestant) Christians. These two groups probably won't do anything at all. They won't risk offending Muslims.
