Imagine if Ohio Governor Ted Strickland had spoken at a banquet hosted by an organization that had been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving funding for the Ku Klux Klan. Do you think the Ohio press would have ignored that? Or what if Ohio Governor Ted Strickland had spoken at a banquet hosted by an organization that had been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving funding for Kach, Meir Kahane's group that has been included on the State Department's list of terrorist organizations? Would the Ohio press ignore that?
But Strickland actually spoke at a banquest hosted by CAIR, which has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving funding for the jihad terrorist group Hamas. So who cares?

Faux news is in business to make money. If you want to see someone really talk about Islam, you'll have to check out Glenn Beck... on CNN (faint!)... the so-called Clinton News Network, because they only ran Lewinsky coverage 22/7 instead of 24/7 like the "conservative" media.

Fox news won't do anything. They are just as bad as the other networks they have CAIR on all the time. It is groups like Fox that have been proping CAIR up as the leaders for Muslims in the US. Fox news is a joke they would never do anything like try to organize their listeners to do anything effective to counter the jihadist and 3rd world invasion of the US.
I would love it if we had politicians with the courage to speak at a Kach or Kahane Chai event.

Strickland is, on the whole, a good guy, a sensible and actually fairly conservative minister (methodist, I think). We the normal breathing human beings don't get told who puts what appointments on a politicians daily plate. Wouldn't be the first time that a politician ended up somewhere where he didn't want to be. And certainly some GOPers have also had meet-ups with CAIR and co.... so don't crucify the guy yet.

kj, you're right about US mainstream media: they are a synchronized choir, rarely anyone gets out of line. I don't watch it at all these days so I don't know how much has changed.
Stop trying to tie US to Islam? Stop arming Fatah, Pakistan, ... Stop financing terrorists. Stop propping up wahabi Saudis. Stop making new Muslim emirates in Europe (the list goes on and on and on)...

Sorry but Strickland does not deserve a free pass. What you are saying about whoever books his appointment is pure speculation. As the Governor of a major American state he has the resposibilty to be informed about the Jihadist threat in order to protect the people of Ohio. If Strickland is not a dhimmi than he is incompetent- either way he does not deserve to be in office or the GOP and the same goes for any other republican that meets with CAIR.

Rest assured though that I will call his office. And inform people of it. It will make their hearts warm knowing that donations at cair website for the 9/11 victims went to the holy land foundation who then sent it to hamas.

Unfortunately, the previous Taft administration in Ohio set new records for corruption and ineffectiveness, and Ken Blackwell was Bob Taft's willing tool and minion. It was impossible for most of us to vote for Blackwell, the evil that we knew, and that is why Ted Strickland won in a landslide.
Too often, this is the choice American voters must make: between ineffective corruption and this other kind of betrayal.
We must find another way, or we are doomed.
