Sheikh delays plane over seating, pilot unintimidated

Three of his female relatives were seated next to men they did not know. The British Airways pilot, however, was evidently a firm anti-dhimmi, and would have none of it: when the Sheikh complained, he ordered him and his entourage off the plane.

"Sheikh delays plane over seating," from Reuters (thanks to Hany):

MILAN (Reuters) - A Qatar sheikh held up a British Airways flight at Milan’s Linate airport for nearly three hours after discovering three of his female relatives had been seated next to men they did not know.

When none of the other business class passengers agreed to swap seats, the sheikh, a member of Qatar’s ruling family, went to the pilot, who had already started the engine, to complain, an airport official said.

But the pilot ordered him and his traveling companions, the three women, two men, a cook and a servant, off the plane.

Muslims feel entitled to special treatment. In this case they got special treatment, although probably not the special treatment they had in mind...

BTW, isn't oil-rich Qatar supposed to be "moderate" and "progressive"?

No doubt the Sheikh will be complaining that the pilot was a bad dhimmi! A small sign of hope that not all British people are willing to bend over backwards to accommodate the primitive, backward and barbaric customs of Muslims. Too bad this pilot isn’t running the British government. God knows they NEED someone like him.

Oh, the utter horror of having to use an Infidel Airline to go home. What happened to his private, luxurious A-340 or B-777 (all decked out with gold poopers and seating for 10)?

I would guess that BA will be banned from Qatar in no time short. Forget the "Flying Imams" suit.

Those male passengers should sue the sheikh for racial profiling and sexism.

And why didn't he make the necessary arrangements beforehand, if it's so important? Why leave it up to chance?

I can't believe they were allowed to delay the plane for three hours. Gee, if I made a "royal" fuss about seating, they'd throw me off the plane, lickety-split.

It's in the shop being remodeled. The poopers are being replaced with swiveling models that can be turned to face away from Mecca when the plane is on certain routes. Until now the plane often had to change course during pooping, which led to trouble with the aviation authorities.

If the passenger is an Al Thani, then he's as corrupt as they come, drinks a lot, bends both ways, and is a heavy gambler.

Good point. Not too long ago, I recall some apologetics for Qatar making the point that Wahabism is no longer their state religion. People also like to point to the progressive nature of the al-Thani family. Well, it's nice to see the veil removed, in a manner of speaking.

The London-bound flight took off nearly three hours behind schedule Thursday evening and around 50 of the 115 passengers missed connecting flights.
Those 50 passengers should file a class action suit against that sheikh.

I have seen a similar thing happen in Saudi ArabiaTwice while flying (once on BA, once on KLM) back to the West. A Saudi husband bought a Business Class seat for himself and a Coach Class seat for his wife. Then after the aircraft took off, he went back and found his wife sitting by, or near, male strangers. He raised hell, obviously working for a free upgrade for his wife. KLM caved. BA didn't.

Is there a Council on Italian Islamic Relations? If so, watch the papers for news that a lawsuit has been filed against the airline, the pilot, the male passenger that these girls were seated near, the runway, the portable stairs, the luggage, and just to make sure they weren't being malicious toward this precious sheik, the airliner's engines.

If they want to act like fools, they should be treated like fools. Apparently they can't just board the damn plane and fly to where they're going, they have to be a pain in everyone else's ass.

"...Oh you can't talk to me because I'm not mahram to you. That's okay. Just lift your blouse and I'll nurse on your breasts for a few minutes. After that, you can travel together with me all you want and still be good Muslima."

No, Defender, there was nothing racist about what he did, because (read carefully here) muslims are not a race, and because it is not racist to refuse to meet an unreasonable demand. What you wrongly call "hate" is nothing more than our refusal to submit to muslims trying to force non-muslims to obey their laws.

The solution for non-Muslims and Muslims alike is for special, Muslim-only airlines, and all other airlines to be Muslim-free. That should keep the non-Muslims from contaminating, with their free and easy ways, Muslim rules, Muslim purity. And we, the world's non-Muslims, would be better able to control our own security. Of course some Muslims would attempt to sneak on board the airlines of non-Muslims, but at least with almost all of them banned, it would be easier to find and stop the few who tried to get aboard, for whatever reason. And Muslims can be more relaxed, with the kind of atmosphere they prefer -- women segregated, the domestic servants, essentially slaves, stuck one on top of another in a few rows in the back and fed the usual subsistence meals, while the men cavort in the front. Only problem: will non-Muslim call girls still be allowed aboard those private planes that assorted rulers (choose among the Al-Thani, Al-Maktoum, Al-Saud, Al-Sabah, Al-Whathave you) own and use -- those luxuriously-outfitted 747 "private planes" we hear so much about -- or will they, too, be off-limits?

I vote for placing those planes off-limits to all non-Muslms. That includes the pilots. Let only Muslim pilots fly Muslims.

This will also have consequences for the saftey of the Muslim flying public, of course. Better them than us. The problem, after all, was caused entirely by followers of Islam. Let the inconvenienced be the Muslims, therefore, not the non-Muslims, and let those inconvenienced Muslims take their complaints to the source of their woes: Muslim terrorists, acting reasonably upon the texts of Islam.

Posted by: Hugh [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 27, 2007 9:20 PM

Speaking of "acting reasonably upon the texts of Islam"...

Ted Belman of Israpundit was recently a guest on The Michael Coren Show (TV) and, when he said that jihad was intrinsic to Islam, the other guests and the host were quite dismissive of him. They insisted that Islam did not call for world domination (or conquest or something along those lines). I'm pretty sure the guy on his right called him a racist. (I watched the show when it aired but haven't seen it since.)

Mr. Belman has written about his experience and has a link to a tape of the program:

Kudos for the British Airways pilot. I guess when your country is under siege the best thing to do is to kick the enemy off the flight. He did it in the passengers best interest. The sheik probably made a huge issue about the passengers unwilling to swap seats. If those seats are assigned to them, they have a right to keep them. I want to see more unruly Muslims kicked off flights.

Dear Mr. British Airways pilot -

Whoever you are, on the off chance that you have stumbled across this thread - I just want to say thank you. We will defeat this thing one man/woman at a time. None of us knows when we will personally be called upon to make a difficult decision, but by making the personal decision that you did - maybe unknowing to you - you have actually set a precedent for all of us to follow. You're a hero for the day.

And this is obviously going to take one quiet hero, one day at a time, for many many years to come, to defeat this menace.

So again - Mr. Pilot of this flight - thank you for being today's hero and for serving as an inspiration for all of us - for when our personal day will come, as it did for you today and as it undoubtedly will come for all of us, at some point in time...

Posted by: Alarmed Pig Farmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 27, 2007 11:20 PM

Defender,

You are showing your superiority complex again. Remember, Islam is not a race.

When buying a ticket for an airline flight one must choose carefully where one will sit, otherwise the plane could fill up and if one changes one's mind later on, one may not be able to switch seats so easily. In America we call it first come, first served. That goes for you, me and any other Muslims that buy a ticket. I believe that's the rule of thumb in Europe also, being a former Christian continent with ties to the Golden Rule of do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

If the sheik suddenly realized that his family members were female (and how he could forget, I'm not sure, since they are the ones in the Hefty bags) then he's just out of luck, because in America we don't subscribe to YOUR racist view that Muslims get to change seats and do whatever they want when potential dhimmis are around. In fact, I think we might have to sue you for your racist comments here at Jihad Watch.

Poor planning on the sheik's part in no way requires anyone else to give a flying flip.

As with the Muslim-only hospitals, this should only be encouraged. Muslims have made it clear that their beliefs are incompatible with non-Muslims'. We need to accept and respect their wishes, and keep the line between Muslims and infidels clear and strictly enforced. U.S. and U.K. = Dar al Harb. Qatar = Dar al Islam. They don't belong here.

DefenderofIslam - "The pilot needed to be fired for his racist att like that schoolbus driver that was fired by his bus Company in Floradia."

On the contrary, it's people like the sheik who need to be fired, sued, or whatever else it takes to convince Muslims that we have no obligation to cater to their superstitions.

So far, Western countries have been polite (or feeble) enough to make exceptions for Muslims but that is wearing thin. Muslims have worn out their welcome in the West and all their ridiculous complaints and demands should be treated exactly as this fiasco was treated.

My only problem with this situation is that the plane was held up for three hours for a Third World tinpot oil leech. Why?

BTW, what is your opinion of the refusal of government of Muslim countries that refuse to accept Western customs? You are suspiciously silent on this point, the usual Muslim hypocrisy we have come to expect.

Ahhh, can you imagine how relaxing it would be to fly without Muslims or Muslim "luggage" on board!!!

But there is one small problem. The Muslim planes would have to be accompanied by non-Muslim fighter jets, to make sure the planes don't have to make those pesky emergency landings on our highrises.

This is a common situation if you fly to Asia by a Gulf hopping airline. The Arabs check in late which already causes delay then they spend another 30-40 minutes arguing and trying to get everyone else to move to accommodate them not speaking just ignoring female Cabin Staff and only talking to males. Then at the next stop because they didnt get what they want they all move around and when boarding passengers want their allocated seats they just ignnore them as if they were not there. Arabs are arrogant, ignorant scum of the earth.

Posted by: Realist [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 28, 2007 7:27 AM

...of course, the sheik had the option of just chartering a jet .... unless he was a cheapskake sheik....trying to impose his will upon the infidels.....or something like that...his female companions should sue the sheik for being so cheap...

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 28, 2007 9:18 AM

Good to see some spirit of anti-dhimmitude left in a European airline. Yet I only hope BA does not punish the pilot, but I am not optimistic. Typically, the pilot is reprimanded.

In such cases, with troublemaker passengers on board the aircraft, the pilot really is the commander in chief.

The correct procedure is to evict recalcitrant passengers via police, where they are booked, and committed to arrest until they are deported with a big red stamp in their passport denying them the right to re-entry into the country for ever.

The airline should sue the Sheik for restitution of the extra costs it incurred as a result of the delay he caused.

Passengers of the flight should also sue for compensation for financial damages caused by the delay. The police and courts will also impound any assets of the Sheikh to account for detention costs. If he bears no assets with him, he may remain in detention until cash is posted, and the moveables he carries around with himself, such as his watch, Gucci suitcases and designer clothes are auctioned off.

Finally, the Sheik's refusal to have his concubines seated next to members of another sex is a reflection of gender discrimintation. The prosecutor should charge the Sheik and his entourage with public acts of misdemeanour. Until this is all sorted out, they remain in detention. This ought to teach them a lesson in the norms of civility in infidel country.

The passengers who were accosted by the Sheikh and asked to move in order to make place for the Sheik's wives should file legal claims against sexual harrassment on basis of gender discrimintation. The airline ought to help them with the legal procedures.

After the Sheikh is deported, these proceedings may matter little, but it will serve as a warning for others in future.

This is a little OT but may amuse JW watchers.

An urban myth has been circulating in the UK for several years about a party of our Asian citizens going back to Pakistan, one of whom was an old lady in a wheelchair completely wrapped up in her traditional clothing. The staff at the check-in desk thought she did not look too well and insisted on looking at her closely. She was worse than unwell she was dead, and had been for a day or two. Her family were trying to smuggle her onboard as a passenger to avoid the paperwork and 100% + extra expense of shipping her back as freight in a coffin.

As I said this is all word of mouth and I have no evidence for it whatsoever but be thankful you're sitting next to a living Muslim.

Posted by: Fred [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 28, 2007 11:05 AM

I would have loved to have been one of the Business class passengers to tell the big fat overfed glutton full-of-himself Shiek, "Nope, I'm not giving up my seat!"

Posted by: darcy [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 28, 2007 11:09 AM

Bloggers on other sites have speculated the three hours delay was caused by having to locate and unload the suitcases of the Sheik. For security reasons, it is not allowed for unacompanied suitcases to contiue the flight, as they may carry bombs.

But the Evening Standard reports that this was not the reason for the 3 hours delay.

"Cabin crew tried to rearrange the seats but passengers travelling together refused to give up their allotted places. The captain tried to mediate but after more than two and a half hours of wrangling he ordered the bulk of their royal party off the plane."

"Police and diplomats from the Qatar consulate in Milan were also called in before the plane eventually took off. The rest of the Qatar party left Milan later on an Alitalia flight."

"Furious passengers whistled and clapped as the row intensified before the captain eventually ordered the women to be escorted off the plane."

Adds the Evening Standard "A BA spokesman said: "The people were offloaded because they failed to comply with safety instructions when the aircraft was taxiing. Two passengers stood up and refused to sit down."

And thus, this is clearly a case where the Sheik should have been arrested.

In other cases of hooliganism on flight, passengers are always detained.

The Italian police should never have let the Sheik and the princesses continue with the next Alitalia flight that day.

Seems like they could have their own lear jet to bypass all that contact with the kafir. Of course that would disrupt any potential Dawa sessions.

Why were the 2 Arabs who interfered with the takeoff not arrested?

discovering three of his female relatives had been seated next to men they did not know."

How sensitive of Reuters to call them his female relatives. They were all in burqa, how does Reuters know they were his relative, or for that matter females. Could they be his wives? Isnt polygamy illegal in Italy?

The solution for non-Muslims and Muslims alike is for special, Muslim-only airlines, and all other airlines to be Muslim-free.

Better still. the airspavce should be divided into 'civilised' and 'moslem air space. This is necessary, or else we will have moslem pilots crashing into tall buildings. There will be aircorridoes for thos aircradft that have to cross a proscribed airspace.

I vote for placing those planes off-limits to all non-Muslms. That includes the pilots. Let only Muslim pilots fly Muslims.

See above.

A few months ago, maybe a year, another British pilot threw a couple of Moslems of his plane on a flight from Spain to Manchester. It was still at the airport when this happened.

Fred:
As I said this is all word of mouth and I have no evidence for it whatsoever but be thankful you're sitting next to a living Muslim.

Speak for yourself. I prefer to sit next to a dead Muslim than a live one. The dead Muslim cant injure me, the live one can.

And more than anecodotal evidence:
I have heard that BA have been shipping dead people first class rather than in coffins.

sheik yer'mami, thanks v much, you have the answer to the problem of unsafe and unpleasant airtravel.

Posted by: DP111 [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 28, 2007 6:04 PM

You don't even want to fly on a muslim airliner. I flew on a Gulf Air flight from London to Bombay 30 years ago the flight to the Gulf was quiet civilised the flight to Bombay was a nightmare. The amount of individual hand bagage that was brought on the plane would have broke a camel backs. The spotlessly clean toilets were a stinking hell by the time we reached Bombay. If you want a real horror story read this.

The real reason I was told later by a Brit who worked in the traffic control tower was that the passengers we all Pakistani peasants who were on the hadje. It seems that on of these had lit a petrol stove in the back of the plane to boil some water to make a cup of tea, it was knocked over and it started the fire. Planes don't usually land when the control gear is burnt through. The reason the doors weren't opened was that the crew were on their knees praying, thanking Allah for saving them. He said that they were shouting over the radio for the crew to open the door. You have been warned.

That's what he gets for not being able to afford his own plane.

DefenderofIslam

In the last or second last general-election in the UK a candidate standing for the right wing British National Party (of which I am not a member) put out an election leaflet saying the Muslims in a British city were entirely responsible for a riot. He was prosecuted for incitement to racial hatred and though the judge agreed that the statement was entirely true, it was still likely to cause racial hatred and therefore illegal. You'll be glad to know that he was jailed for a year.

So you see in British law “hate speech” now includes telling the truth about anything bad Muslims - or to be fair any other minority - does.

"The solution for non-Muslims and Muslims alike is for special, Muslim-only airlines, and all other airlines to be Muslim-free."

Why not? The British government is said to be considering plans for an all-muslim prison, after a series of attacks on jailed Islamic terrorists.

ok people, let's not get "off-topic". the question is, some fat arab bloke got thrown off a plane. discuss.

....as I looked into this story, I noted that the Sheik and his three concubines just day shopping....Apparently they flew to Italy just to go shopping....

....Now if you are rich enough to go flying to a foreign country just to go day shopping, you should be able to just charter a privated jet with no infidel passengers to worry about....

....I was curious as to what they purchased in Italy that may have been unavailiable in their home country.....

....I (and others ) may have noted certain items we take for granted may not be availiable in Muslim stores in Muslim countries (due to religious police harrassment or 7th century rules or just plain ignorance), items such as tampons, perfume, toilet paper, silk nighties, real tobacco, fine wines, or banned cds ....

....and then I thought maybe the sheik was a wolf in sheeps clothing...he may have been a courier delivering secret plans to some Islamic Jihadist....

....as my mind was whirring about, I thought about the three concubines, were they afraid of the other non Muslim passengers, were they afraid of being mugged, tortured, raped, or afraid of being forcibly converted into Christianity during the flight, or were they afraid the Non Muslims passengers were actually frequent readers of JW and just might ask questions that the three women would have difficulty answering with honesty....

...I thought of many questions that could have been asked...

I suggest the pilot resort to defenstration next time. Much more satisfying than simply having them escorted off the plane.

Posted by: Lepanto [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 29, 2007 2:14 PM

It's encouraging to read that the passengers refused to change seats because of a lack of planning from the sheik and his entourage.

Many thanks to the British Airways pilot for putting an end to the situation in the proper manner. By the cross of Saint George, this kind of thing must be stopped. :)

The apprehension of the sheik and his concubines is totally understandable from an islamic perspective. The koran is a manual of sexual slavery, licentiousness and pedophilia, all epitomised by islam's prophet.
You see, they were simply extrapolating islamic
values onto their fellow passengers of "Abrahamic faith".
Muhhamad's rape of 9 year old Ayesha is well known. His arousal by/copulation with his daughter-in-law, Zainab is well known too.
I was wondering whether there are any reliable accounts from any sources regarding his behaviour with a) his mother b) his daughter.
Anybody ?
