More on the persecution of Christians in Egypt. From WorldNetDaily.com (thanks to Cornelius):
Two young boys ordered to take a school test that would result in their conversion to Islam wrote, "I am Christian," on the exam papers, knowing in advance that could very well spell the end of their educations. Now a U.S.-based organization is lobbying for international pressure on Egypt to quit forcing Christians into such no-win situations."What brought the case to the public attention is the categorical refusal of the two kids to pass the Islamic exams and convert to Islam, stating, 'they will not deny their Christianity and convert to Islam no matter what it would cost them,'" Sam Grace, a spokesman for Coptic News said.
The organization aims to "reveal the untold stories … which are not told by the conventional Arabic press."
He told WND the boys, Mario Medhat Ramses, 11, and Andrew Medhat Ramses, 13, now are facing a future without educational opportunities even though they had been classified as "brilliant" students at the French Lycee school of Alexandria.
Grace said Egypt's ministry of education ordered the boys to take the test that would result in their conversion to Islam because their father, who left the family about five years ago, had decided to convert from Christianity to Islam.
The parents, Medhat Ramses and Camellia Medhat were a Christian couple when the boys were born, but the father then divorced the mother, leaving his sons behind, and converted to Islam to marry a Muslim.
But Islamic religious law, which has been adopted by the civil government in Egypt, requires that children follow the faith of any parent who converts to Islam, "since Islam is the superior religion that abrogated all other religions," Grace said.
And leaving the children "to follow the corrupted religions (Christianity and Judaism) of the other parent would be condemning the kids to the doom of hell fire where Christians, Jews and all other non-Muslims are destined," he said.

Good thing they weren't former Muslims, or else these christian boys would need to be punished severely, according to the "moderate" Grand Mufti, Ali Gomaa.

A blatant example of Islamic supremacism...and a case study in hypocrisy as CAIR and other Muslim-advocacy groups in the West continue their farcical campaign against religious profiling while keeping mum on the oppression faced by non-Muslims inside of Darul Islam.

Thank you for that article. Wow. Good for those boys for standing up for their beliefs and that organization for helping them.
A childhood friend of mine was a Coptic Christian from Egypt. I'm glad her family got out a long time ago.

If Islam is so superior, why does it need these tactics against childen in order to get them into Islam?

$60 billion from American taxpayers, to a regime and a Muslim population that has systematically discriminated against, persecuted, even violently attacked, Copts -- whose ancestors were there before the Arabs arrived with Islam -- and that has failed to meet a single one of its solemn commitments under the Camp David Accords (while Israel scrupulously handed over, as it never should have, all of the Sinai), and instead of fulfiling its promise to encourage friendly relations, at every level, public and private, with the government and people of Israel (phrases devoutly sought, eagerly welcomed, by the naive Israeli negotiators, sentimental Begin at their head, who were beaten about by Carter, Brzezinski, and Saint Sadat, so prematurely sanctified).
And now $13 billion in the most advanced arms, including aircraft with systems the Israelis have pleaded with the Ameican government in the past never to supply to Egypt (what was it the Israelis did when we asked them to cancel their sale of aircraft to China, far less of an immediate military threat to the United States than Egypt always has been, and always will be, to Israel? Didn't Israel, at great cost to its aerospace industry, cancel the sale at once?), is supposed to go to this malevolent regime, in this distinctly unfriendly country.
Let's take a vote. Let's ask Copts in this country if they think the Muslims of Egypt, and the Mubarak Family-and-Friends Regime, deserves such aid, and such weaponry? Let's ask if that weaponry is likely to be taken as a sign of disappoval of the mistreatment of the Copts, or instead as a sign that the Egyptian Muslims can get away with anything.
And let's ask ourselves if we think that the $13 billion in advanced weaponry is about "defending themselves against the Iranian threat"? How's that? Are the Iranians going to march right over Israel and invade Egypt? Will Shi'a clerics be parachuted into Egypt and without anyone doing a thing, simply start to successfully convert tens of millions of Sunnis who are distinctly hostile to Shi'a Islam (remember the remarks of Mubarak about the "treacherous" Shia? Or have you, like Rice and Bush, apparently decided to pretend that we just have to give the Egyptians something for all the wonderful things they have done for us as a force of "stability" and "moderation" and really, the only way to properly express our appreciation is to supply them with rockets, planes, missiles, all the other things the Egyptian Army, which was the deadly enemy of Israel in four separate wars, will somehow employ or keep in readiness to employ against that Iranian "Shi'a crescent" that apparently waxes inexorably, and will never, for any reason, wane.

And what does Pseudo-Christian Bush have to say about this? Or does he even care? He managed to get his presidency on the Christian platform and then he literally holds hands with Muslims. Disgusting indeed. G-d will remember this.

These cases [and they are numerous] leave no words for the despair I feel in my heart for these children and their mother--
and rage, and then they have the gall to demand their faith and religion be not only respected in schools here,
the madrassas want even more--
these cases need to be printed up, in huge block letters
AND HUNG ON EVERY DOOR OF EVERY PUBLIC SCHOOL AND COLLEGE IN AMERICA.
In fact--thats Exactly what I'm going to do--going to take this case, print it up in big letters,
and post it all over the multi-cultural kiss the ass of Islam univerisity where I live--I can assure you they will be taken down in about five minutes but thats o.k.,
I'm going to make sure I post them in the education department, diversity department, and about every other department there is,
one another note: our government helped HOW MANY MUSLIMS TO COME HERE AND GET FREE EDUCATION
WHILE I KNOW NUMEROUS SINGLE PARENT WOMEN IN DEBT UP TO THEIR ASSES FOR TRYING TO GET EDUCATION TO GET OUT OF POVERTY,
I THINK THE US GOVERNMENT [WE SHOULD CAMPAIGN FOR THIS] SHOULD BRING THOSE BOYS AND THEIR MOTHER HERE--
AND GIVE THEM AN EDUCATION HERE--
WHAT YOU THINK?
I am SICK TO DEATH of this government doing all this shit for Islamists
who treat children this way--
DAMN THEM BOTH--TO HELL.
as for Bush and his claims to Christianity--there isn't a bucket big enough for me to puke in--
at the revulsion of that assertion, every day I just get madder and madder and I'm not the 'religious type' [faith and spiritual yes--religion, can't stand it]
but the double standards, I had better not even see a Muslim here demanding anything education wise--because I'll be going to jail for slapping them,
and slapping them hard.
or let me see one, just one of them going 'no compulsion in religion'
and the father who joined Islam so he could marry another,
whore, he's a WHORE,
he's also the perfect example of WHY so many men in the west are so emphathetic to Islam because they love the system that gives them piousness and righteousness for being the WHORE DOGS they are in their hearts and the MISOGNISTS they are in the hearts
kid yourself not, go to the Sharia discussion board and just read these western men ask them,
"can I demand anal sex" blah blah blah--assholes don't care about God,
they only care about 'permissions' to rape, molest children, and treat women like dirt,
and they live among us. Its becoming more not about right/left-
its becoming more
about good verses evil.

No offense to you never_submit, but you should probably not start speaking for what "God" will and won't remember. I respect your right to believe what you will, but frankly I'm glad he hasn't pushed an even more evangelical agenda than he already is. While any religion in comparison to Islam is relatively benign, nothing good has ever come from religious groups being convinced their position is unassailable.
More importantly, people on this planet in the here and now will have to pay the consequences of President Bush's actions. What your God wants to do with him in "Heaven" is really not my concern. We need to stop giving money to fund Islamic supremacy and jihad in the world. That's all there is to it. The left needs to realize that they have nothing in common with Islam and that they are being "Western Guilted" into supporting a far more horrendous ideology than anything President Bush (or Pat Robertson, for that matter) would ever advocate.
We live in strange times...

None other than Sadat's widow recently went on TV in Cairo and said that it had been a mistake for her husband to incorporate Sharia law into the Egyptian Constitution. I was in Egypt at the time, and a surprising number of people around me were agreeing with her. I think many people there, Muslims and Copts alike, are getting tired of crap like this.

SR, I'm not from US. Can you please enlighten me as to the nature of Bush's evangelical agenda? I can't believe he would have any kind of a pro-Chrisitan agenda. He seems pretty greedy and amoral (certainly lies without blinking). He does absolutely nothing positive for any Christian in the Middle East. In fact, he actively helps and legitimizes oppressive Islamic regimes there (and removes non-Islamic dictators for something more Islamic).
Thanks.

Islam is such a disgusting cult they have to use deceit to convert others. How do they follow a pedophile, a rapist, a liar, a thief, and a cult idol worshiper. pray for these servants of satan that they will see the debauchery of islam and leave it before destroying their souls forever.

Actually, Egypt is in dire need of brilliant students--which makes their actions all the more baffling.

This is islamic racism pure and simple.
Islam is fundamentally a racist ideology. The fact that Islamists call for the genocide of any person of any race is the reason Islam attains a higher stage of racism, than any other. Islam as genocide of any person of any race is a genocidal ideology that is an equal opportunity murderer. Also, Sauds claim special status as masters of Islam. So do the heirs of Ali in Iran.
Traditionally, the term racism is reserved to one
group that claims a right to kill another of a different race. Germans blurred the concept when they claimed their nation to be a nation and a race. Islam blurs this too by making a politcal, religious and social statement. Islam takes socialism to a new level when it claim the right to kill any person of any group or race that refuses to join them.
Islam is the highest stage of racism and sets the inhumanity and depravity of humankind to new lows.

Let's see, who would I choose:
Prince of Peace"
or:
{\Pedophile Warlord?
Hmmm.....
The one who said:
"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."
or the guy who shouted:
"Grab them and kill them wherever you find them!
Let me think....
The profound person who warned:
"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone."
or the slaveholding plunderer who bellowed:
"Strike off their heads!"
Gee, tough choice.

SR,
No offence taken, but sometimes there is nothing one can do but rely on faith. I hate islam to the marrow of my bones and do the best I can to spread the word of its evil. When I tell people that I have faith, they automatically lump me in with the likes of fundamentalist Christians. That's OK I guess. Everyone is entitled to be a Bigot.
People do suffer horribly to the muslim death cult, and there is nothing I can do about two boys that are denied education or people who die because they will not submit. I can write my congressman and perhaps spend all my savings on plane tickets to get them to the USA, but these two kids are only a drop in the bucket. They are the ones we actually read about. And yes, I become enraged when I read of kids suffering at the hands of muslims.
When one sees the evil of the world it gets difficult to believe that there is a higher entity that has our best interests in mind. Evil comes from human beings being self serving. When a human strives to overcome his own selfish desires and seeks to know the Love of G_d wonderful things happen. This is the basic tenent of Christianity. I really do believe this.
I am somewhat of an anomoly to most Christians because I DON'T believe in Hell and I DON'T believe there is this evil entity tempting humans (i.e., "Satan). Humans tempt themselves. The Bible says that the un-Godly just perish, and I believe that the one billion or so Muslims walking the face of this earth will just die and that will be the end of it for them.
People like George Bush on the other had, who profess to be Christians and then kiss the asses of muslim kings at the expense of the humble will be remembered by G-d and dealt with accordingly. FYI, I can't stand that drivel of Pat Robertson and the so-called conservative evangelists. They just love to blame everything on "Satan." It's such a cop out.
When I started learning about Geology and got a sense of "deep time" I realized that the human concept of time is such a immature concept. Eternity is such an awe inspiring concept, something I can't even begin to grasp.
Faith is also knowing that there is a higher being that will ultimately secure justice and speak for those that are persecuted.
So no, I am really not offended. I just want you to take a little bit of a different look at what faith is.

Muslims say they are being discriminated in the West. They have more freedoms in the West than they do in Islam dominated countries. It is the Muslims who discriminate other religions.
