Why do we have this bit of irrelevant information passed on to us by the writer of the article above?
Who cares if Appa, the would-be killer, thinks or doesn't think that he "represents a large group of Muslim youth in disadvantaged neighborhoods"? What does that have to do with his death threat, made in a small country where in recent years not one but two people known for bravely defying Muslim bullying were killed? One was killed with a gun by a simpleton, van der Graaf, who was persuaded by others that Pim Fortuyn was attacking the most "helpless" members of Dutch society -- i.e., Muslims. The second was killed by Mohammed B.(ouyeri), to whom Appa alludes by referring to a "Mohammed C." who may come along to finish off Geert Wilders.
The death threat was made, made in a context of previous acts that entitle Geert Wilders, and the Dutch government, to arrest and imprison, or deport (better to deport) Appa and all those who think like, or defend, or support Appa and all the appas. They clearly cannot integrate into Dutch society. They do not understand the basic legal and political framework of, and the individual rights that are indispensable to, the nation-state of the Netherlands. This framework and those rights are the product of centuries of work and thought and industry by Infidels, with not a single Muslim contribution that even the cleverest Muslim apologist can name.
In 1970 there were 15,000 Muslims in the Netherlands. There are now one million. They are causing now, and they have caused, a situation for the indigenous Dutch (and of course for other, but non-Muslim immigrants, such as Vietnamese Buddhists, Hindus from India and even Indonesia, and Chinese of Confucian or Christian or other persuasion) that is far more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than it would be without that quite unwelcome, quite unnecessary, and deeply dangerous Muslim presence. That presence is one that the Muslims themselves recognize as being one behind what they are taught to regard, and most do regard, as enemy lines, the lines of the Infidels.
Those countries such as Denmark and the Netherlands that pride themselves on their easygoing tolerance ought to realize that it is a false tolerance, even a diseased tolerance, to continue to tolerate in one's midst a permanent danger to real -- i.e., Western -- tolerance. Western tolerance is based on the Western enshrinement of individual rights. That does not include tolerating those who cling tenaciously to a doubly totalitarian Belief System, that offers a Complete Regulation of Life, and a geopolitical plan that justifies, by any instruments available and effective (and not merely qitaal, or combat, or its variant "terrorism"), the removal of all obstacles to the spread and dominance of Islam everywhere, and everywhere a situation where Muslims rule.
Benes and Masaryk were wise, tolerant, advanced statesmen, two who belonged to an older and better educated generation. They had no hesitation in implementing the Benes Decree(s) of 1946, and in banishing the Sudeten Germans who had proved to be such a threat. For them, for the Czechs, Germany lay prostrate, but they were not about to take another chance. And no one at the time, and no one since, has thought what the Czechs then did was immoral -- save for a handful of German revanchists and those who have a particular soft-spot, one that deserves to be examined, for the treatment of Germans after the war.
Why should the Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, and the other countries of Europe not recognize a similar permanent danger in their midst, in the presence of jihadists and Sharia supremacists? And if Germany was prostrate in 1946, the world of Islam is hardly prostrate today. Rather, it feels itself stronger than ever, thanks to that ten trillion dollars in OPEC money received since 1973, along with all the aid, a disguised Jizyah, that is received, almost as tribute, by Muslim states and nascent statelets that have no oil or gas, but are able to count on the foreign aid that the Infidels provide.
Study the threats, and the intelligent response to recognized threats, in the not-so-distant past.

The west is lazy. It does not need the oil if it put it's collective wisdom to the issue of energy. The west also pays tribute (like they did for many years to the Barbary pirates) because they don't want to put forth the effort to fight.
In fact this is how Europe (and yes America) handles everything. Look how it handled Nazi Germany before WWII. Look how it handled the threat of communism at first in which half of Europe was just handed over without any fight.
The problem of course is this danger is a slow one and internal. It creeps taking one freedom after another in a "good cop, bad cop" way. Do it my way or watch out because bad cop (active jihadist) will get you.
Appa of course is one of the bad cops...but it is the good cops I worry about most and those they scare.

And that goes for all other civilized countries as well. Maybe these maladjusted Musulmans can find an amenable home in Gaza, or Somalia, to suit their Jihadist ambitions, and perverted Sharia sense of justice. Send them back to hell. It's their natural world to be in.

I don't know if we can use the examples of WW2 and communism to judge how the west usually responds to threats.
After World war one, the last thing Europeans wanted was yet another major war, and were willing to try anything to avoid it.
And nobody was willing to turn on a war time ally after World War two, even an enemy has dangerous has the communists.
but if that is how the west handles it's problems then look on the bright side, the west eventually won both those conflicts, and will win this one too.

A million Muslims in the Netherlands. You know what? Maybe the Dutch and other Europeans were getting bored of their comfy, prosperous, safe utopias, where there was perhaps too little need for courage. Maybe that's why they seem to want to bring a disaster upon themselves...maybe they can't enjoy living for more than a generation or two without disaster, and then they start to get a yen for some devastatingly painful tragic limits again or won't feel fully alive...ok, just a rant.
I understand about the Euro-Arab convergence deals, cultural, political, and economic, that have been made between Europe and the Arab world in recent decades...

.....Where ever Muslims are allowed to immigrate nothing but increase problems arise, the crime rate goes up, the murder rate goes up, the Muslim fear factor goes up, arson increases, rapes increase, murders increase, bad community relations increase, and yet people continue to give in to Muslim demands....well, it is time to put an end to giving in to the demeaning Muslim demands, it is time to say NO....we can begin by voting out those limpwristed politicians who fear Islam (or worst...don't know squat about Islam), we can deny mosque building permits, we can fire Muslims from jobs if they refuse to carry out their job responsibilities, if schools and places of employment do not allow Christians to pray at these locations, then Muslims should be likewise denied the prayer time, If reading the Bible and posting the Ten Commandments are forbidden, so too, should the Qur'an and foot bath stations be disallowed.....it is time we returned back to being stronger and freer, we can reclaim civilization from the Islamic onslaught...we can begin by banning Muslim immigration....

It makes me very sad and very very mad that any emails, letters etc i send to our British politicians go totally un-answered, they will not listen at all, they are so wound up in their own careers that they won't do anything that will jepordise it. Out Government does not say a single thing about Islam, not a word, whilst all around me the muslims are demanding and getting whatever they ask for. People i talk to and meet all agree its getting out of hand and they should not be in this country, thats almost everyone i meet, but not a single politician will say anything. How do i get through to them? how do i get response? why won't they debate this in parliament? I pay their wages with my taxes so why won't they listen to me? even if they disagree a response would be nice, open it up for debate.

Why have we not got a body we can complain too about immigrants and muslims when immigrants have so many people to cry to?

We're too "nice" to do what we have to do.
The citizens of the United States are too concerned with how the world see us. The vote in the UN should be a clue. The whole world hates us, so we should do what we have to to defend ourselves. Too bad I'm not President, because my first action would be to clean out the state department, then get foreign aid turned back to the taxpayers of the US. You want to be our friend? Well then act like it.

Islam is the most backward, barbaric, the most violent religion left over from the 7th century to plague this planet still in the 21st century. A danger to humanity as a whole, including Muslims.
Because our muli-culti, feelgood, misguided tolerance that all religions are the same, all cultures are to be respected, we, the rest of the planet will not be prepared to declare enough is enough.
We rather go under, rather do anything than upset those who are still the enemies of civilisation.
A dialogue with the fanatic is impossible. His deity given him a clear and direct mandate.
Cleanse the earth from whoever believes differently that him.
To me, this looks like a Darwinian selection, where the law of the jungle still exist and intelligence has no survival value. In fact, it seems to be detrimental to the basic human survival instinct.
Many say we are not prepared to descend to their level of barbarity.
But if so, who will ultimately survive? I think it will be the barbarian.
What I see for now is the argument that my imaginary friend is better than your imaginary friend.
Is this the future of humanity? Endless wars over ideologies? Until last man standing?

Still another poster, a bit later, one "Naeem," more tellingly appropriates, claims for Islam, both Jesus and Moses. There is nothing unusual about this. Islam, as the "third" monotheism, a creed that proved useful, and no doubt owes its origin to, the need to find a fighting faith that would both justify and promote conquest of much wealthier, settled, advanced non-Muslims (initially Christians and Jews, later on Zoroastrians, Hindus, Buddhists, and others).

Just think of that. Every little baby a Muslim baby, until his mother and father and his bad environment lead him astray.

You are a fascist, pure and simple.
I am Dutch, my family has a recorded history since the 15th century in The Netherlands, and I agree with and support Appa, as do dozens upon dozens of other Dutch people... where do you plan to deport us to?
You don't even know what the man said, as he never threatened to kill anyone, he only said he would have no grievances if Wilders were to be murdered.

This is entirely false too... I grew up in a highly Moroccan/Turkish part of Amsterdam, and they were always among my best of friends, as were about 90% of the girls I have ever been infatuated with, so thank god for them.

My dear ctrobo - you say you are Dutch and your family record goes back to the 15th century. You then say that 90% of the girls you have been infatuated with were Moroccan/ Turkish. Did their families know about it? Did the girls know of your attraction? How did they react?
Now for a question. Do you know that if you wanted to marry such a girl - a Muslim girl - you would (unless her family were remarkably lax, 'Muslim-for-identification-purposes-only Muslims') be required to convert to Islam? Do you know what might happen to her, if she decided she wanted to leave Islam in order to marry a Dutchman?
For 1300 years the general rule - ruthlessly enforced in every strongly Islamised society - has been that Muslim men may marry non-Muslim women (the man must not convert to his wife's religion; the children must be raised Muslim; and the father has the sole right to custody). Non-Muslim men were NOT permitted to marry a Muslim woman, unless they converted to Islam.
Conversion to Islam is and has always been a one-way street. Do you know that? Google Samuel Zwemer, 'The Law of Apostasy in Islam' - you can read it online via the Gutenberg Project - and find out what Islam has officially and unofficially, historically, overwhelmingly, done to its apostates. Also, find out what happened to Lina Joy in Malaysia. Consider the death threats against Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Do you think them trivial? Are you crazy enough to think them just? Will you dance on her grave, if they murder her, and tell yourself she deserved it for being so 'Intolerant'?
Come on: can you not see that the whole classic system of Islam blatantly tramples upon two of the hard-won Enlightenment principles of Europe, Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech. Criticise Islam in ANY way shape or form - You Must Die! Try to leave Islam for another religion, or no religon - You Must Die!
Ms Ayaan Hirsi Ali puts it this way - 'Many Muslims are moderate But Islam itself is not moderate'.
You may THINK you knew those Muslims near whom you grew up, perhaps - but do you know that there are Quran passages - 3: 117; 5: 49; 5: 56; 5:57 - which in very strong terms forbid Muslims to EVER genuinely make friends with any non-Muslim?
To say this, is not to indulge in hate speech or fascism. I am merely telling you what are and have been the historical teachings, and the general, abundantly documented, historical practice, of Islam.
