Not that there is a dominant culture that has a right to express itself. Oh, no. "Muslims want ban on Easter eggs," from Expatica (thanks to Diana West):
ANTWERP – "If headscarves are banned for employees who work at the desk at city services in order to guarantee neutrality of services, then we demand that no Christmas trees be set up in city buildings and that no Easter eggs be given out." Antwerp trade union representative Badia Miri said this on Wednesday in the Gazet van Antwerpen.Miri is one of the seven Muslim women who were forced to remove their headscarves if they wanted to continue working at the desk. Three of the seven staff members of the city of Antwerp who wore headscarves agreed to stop wearing one. Different positions - not involving contact with the public - were found for the others. No one was dismissed. There is still opposition to the dress code however, which came into effect in March. The seven Muslim women are now urging that "neutrality of service provision be actually enforced."
"The Antwerp city government says that neutrality is endangered if staff wear a cross or headscarf," says Miri. "But in our experience action has only been taken against the Muslim women. If the city government is really concerned about neutrality, then Christmas trees and Easter eggs should no longer be allowed at work. We are asking that a contact point be set up to report all violations of the dress code."

The hijab, worn in Western cultures, is an act of aggression. It announces the importation of the Islamic norm of female subjugation, and of hairtrigger violence against "disobedient" women. It is a warning and a veiled threat -- literally -- to infidel women that they are now at physical risk, should they not obey Islamic dictates and wrap their heads in submission.
There is a reason it has been called the "rape somebody else" scarf. Modesty has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Coming soon: demands that government offices be open the same hours on Sundays and Christian holidays as they are on Fridays; demands that government services (such as schools, clinics, transportation) provide the same level and/or frequency of service on Sundays that they do on Fridays; demands that premium pay for Sunday work be abolished, or that work on Fridays receive the same premium as that on Sundays. And much, much more. All brought you by our pig-ignorant ruling elite.

Antwerp trade union representative Badia Miri said this on Wednesday in the Gazet van Antwerpen."
-- from the article above, quoting a Muslima
Answer: when Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries freely allow Christian groups to "give out" Christian symbols, to distribute Christmas trees and Easter eggs and caroling books, then perhaps we can begin to even begin to think about answering this question with a monosyllable other than "No."
Note that not all headscarves are banned, but rather "headscarves" for "employees who work at the des at city services in ordre to guarantee neutrality of services." Note further that wearing of the hijab by Muslim women is, as a poster notes above, fraught with aggressive symbolism, and not merely a dutiful act of private observance, at least as it is now done in the Wester, still-Infidel world. Note too that the ban is not on all wearing of hijabs. Presumably in private companies, or at home, the hijab may be worn. Compare this with the behavior of the mutawwa, the religious police in Saudi Arabia, or their equivalents in Iran and Sudan and elsewhere, who barge into homes, and have been known to arrest foreigners for the crime of singing, behind their locked doors, in their own homes, Christmas carols.

Symmetry in all things. Instead of requesting, vainly, that Christians and other non-Muslims be treated with decency, and given legal equality that is actually observed, in Muslim-ruled lands, simply treat Muslims as non-Muslims are treated in the lands from which they, or their ancestors, came -- both by that country's government, and by the largely-Muslim inhabitants. What could be fairer?

You can't go anywhere in Antwerp without seeing women who wear Christmas Trees around their necks and Easter Eggs on their heads.
You obviously have never been to Belgium. They're a strange lot. :-)
No. This is one of the silliest cases of Muslim 'itsnotfairism' I have seen for a while and they should be told to shut up in no uncertain terms. Has this Belgian union been taking advice from CAIR?

You have to ask why a Muslim woman would defend the Islamic faith, given her relative place in the belief system. Below is part of a Rickover address (highly recommended reading), which maybe explains the mindset.
Responsibility implies a commitment to self, which many are not willing to make; they are strongly attracted to accepting a course of action or direction for their lives imposed by an external source. Such a relationship absolves the individual from the personal decision-making process. He wraps himself in the security blanket of inevitability or dogma, and need not invest the enormous amounts of time, effort and, above all, the thought required to make creative decisions and meaningfully participate in the governance of his life.
http://nielsolson.us/Writing/RickoverRotaryAddress10FEB77.html
This mindset would also explain why it seems impossible to find a non-Dictator leader in Iraq.

Latest Message to United States citizen jihad watchers:
We are in the middle of the ninth day of posting this request at Jihad Watch, and we are up to 53 volunteers in 28 states.
I'm looking for at least two people in every state of the Union who would be willing to purchase a copy of Robert Spencer's Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't and mail it to one of the senators in your state. I'm organizing an effort to get the book simultaneously to all 100 senators, in order to send a strong message.
If we get more than two people per state, books can also be sent to the House of Representatives.
If you’d like to be involved, please write to me at traehnam@yahoo.com under the subject heading “Senate,” and tell me the state your senator represents, an email address where I can reach you, and a nickname. No need for your real name. And I will never share your email address with anyone, not even with other volunteers for this project.
And visit www.jihadawareness.blogspot.com to get more info on this project and to leave comments other volunteers can read. You can also see there the growing list of participants in this project, and the states their senators represent. I’ll try to update the list at least once a day. I've also designed a graphic that might amuse. Scroll down when you get to the site.
Once we have at least two people from every state, we can agree on a mailing date and then each of us can mail a copy of the book on that date.
Right before each of us mails the book, we can issue a press release to various media outlets in every state, and in that way announce and explain the mailing. And perhaps we can come up with some other ways of maximizing the effectiveness of this project and gaining as much positive attention as possible.
One of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the anti-Jihad caucus in Congress. I'll try to coordinate this project with Rep. Myrick to maximize its effectiveness. I've also been calling various congressional offices to get advice on how best to go about this. And I'll soon contact Regnery, Robert Spencer's publisher, to ask their advice and to see if we can coordinate with them in some way.

Hugh, you said,
Symmetry in all things...As long as the movement for Islamic law is so strong and aggressive globally, non-Muslims should consider starting a new movement for the dhimmification of those Muslims who refuse to disavow Islamic law, jihad and Islamic supremacism. We should consider using all the terminology of Islamic law with regard to such Muslims, except that we should substitute "Muslim" for "non-Muslim," and vice versa. For those who refuse to disavow Islamic law, let them have it, in spades.

This level of persecution of Christianity is unique even in our post-communist times. Easter eggs and Christmass trees were preserved under commie dictatorships (Christmass tree as "New Years tree, easter eggs as people's tradition). Commies, despite of their brutality and destructiveness, were attempting to build strong nation-states and understood the significance of preservation of traditions for the preservation of national spirit and unity. Removing from public life of centuries-old, harmless traditions (even if they are, -gasp-, rooted in Christianity) is a most blatant act of treason and societal destruction. In today's world of free movement this vocal and hysteric minority -the PC crowd destroying our civilization - is free to move and inhabit any country of muslim or other non-Christian or anti-Christian "ideal" order. I don't see a single reason why they should demand and accomplish the destruction of our contries unimpeded.

Bend over and bend over some more to this ideology that is not ours, bury your foundations so as not to upset the people who are part of this other ideology that is not compatible with western values. Another words don't stand up for your foundations so as not to offend these people who refuse to accept your countries values even though they came there by their own choice.
The warped and perverted thinking that is Multiculturalism, the fact that everything can be controlled in their favor by the never ending parade of trial lawyers who are the real threat to Our civilized societies (but we don't know it yet). Yes, Muslims activists are always ready to sue you and they clearly knows that this is your achilles tendon.. They will find you in an airport in Minneapolis, and on a ferry in Seattle Mr.and Mrs. John Doe wherever you are, They will come and sue you and demand that you establish their value system over yours and yes you will foolishly will let them do it, piece by piece by trying to be a nice, and of course foolish dhimmi.
Why bother to fight against the infidels, the non-believers when all you have to do is be intimidating and reflect a threatening attitude and you will eventully get your way. Where are the Winston Churchills, and the General Pattons who understood this scourge? Why should the Muslims march into western societies with an army threatening war when we eventually will turn the keys over to them so that we don't offend them.

I agree with Hughs' comments...
Muslim men are no longer allowed to drive in the US, and they must be covered from head to toe in a burqa, of course with a female escort while outdoors.
Muslim men may not vote, they have half-rights in our court system, they are to receive surprise beatings for no reason.
If the are raped while in prison, they must provide four witnesses, then be prepared to be stoned to death for adultery. These are laws I would expect our legislatures to enact following the next 9/11 attack...by the way, those two NYFD heroes who recently died while in a building damaged by Al Qaeda...how come no one has mentioned that they are also victims of September 11th, 2001?
I had relatives who worked for the US in Saudi Arabia...my dear aunt was chased around the grocery store by women who wanted to beat her for not covering her entire face.
The next 9/11 attack, my middle name will change to "Spree"

If I remember correctly, "Belgium" is certainly not a "nation" in the true sense of the word, nor is it even a "country" really. It is more like a..... uh, giant money-laundering scheme, or something like that.....
In a decadent epoch when even "real" European nations will not defend their cultures against demographic invasion, it does not surprise me that no one would bother defending a totally synthetic Euro-weenie construct like "Belgium."

Now let's think about this....
...these muslims come to our country bringing their backward way of thinking and backward way of life...
.... and in so doing the sight of them is offensive to many of us (IT SURELY IS TO ME). Every time I see a hijab or a gown and beard and a silly hat (like Ibrahm Hooper of CAIR wears) I am offended. When they won't accept handling bacon in the grocery store or giving an America citizen a taxi ride because he has a bottle of wine etc...or won't deal with a woman in the business world, I am offended. I don't like my kids being exposed to such non-sense.
THEREFORE....Applying the standard that they call for here -- BANNING elements of Christian culture from the workplace....
EUREKA!!! We apply the answer.....to BAN the source of the offense---all muslims are now hereby ordered to assimilate in our country with no hijabs, hats, stupid customs etc. And if that won't do(i. e. they whine, complain and protest)--we simply ban the immigration of any more muslims!
Maybe a BAN makes sense after all!

Almost, poetcomic1. The signal is not to infidel males at all, but to her brothers in Islam -- that she is their gang moll, essentially, and to attack infidel women instead.
Fjordman has written quite extensively on organized Muslim rape tactics against infidel women in Western countries, particularly Scandinavia. However, as shown, for example, by the learned Sheik Al-Hilaly in Australia, no "uncovered meat" is safe anywhere in the world that Mohammed's followers live.
As that narrow-eyed, bulging-cheeked Muslimah in her oh so tight headwrap wants us all, very much, to know.

Sure, take away the Christmas trees and Easter eggs; they are widely accepted as secular symbols of pagan fertility in most cultures now.
And, in return, let the stubborn Dutch return the favor by banning footbaths, mandatory prayer breaks, meditation rooms, halal meat on the lunch room menus, educational separation of boys and girls, medical benefits for immigrants who want the Dutch people to pay for the huge number of children these people want to have and any other annoying concessions to their REGRESSIVE, OPPRESSIVE, OBSESSIVE cult of MO.

Eggselent, allahfanculo!
A well-ripened egg is a potent weapon of mockery. Perhaps Europeans, Americans and Australians need to consider reviving the robust style of public expression sometimes employed by our ancestors.
As comic relief from the depression engendered by so many of the articles that Robert, Hugh and Marisol and their scouts garner for our education, I give you one of my favourite poems:
"Alas, my Child, where is the Pen
that can do Justice to the Hen?
Like Royalty, she goes her Way
Laying Foundations every Day -
if not for Public Buildings, yet
for Custard, Cake and Omelette.
Or if too Old for such a Use
they have their Fling at some Abuse -
as when to Censure Plays Unfit
Upon the Stage they make a Hit
Or at Elections Seal the Fate
of some Obnoxious Candidate.
No wonder, Child, I praise the Hen
Whose Egg is Mightier than the Pen."
No one gets hurt, no one gets killed, and unlike a paint bomb, say, the splat is easily washed off - but the egger's displeasure is clearly indicated to the eggee. One need not even score a direct hit to make the point.
Here is a challenge worthy of the fictional Fred and George Weasley, jokemasters - in what ways can the pride and overweening arrogance of certain elements in the Mohammedan community be punctured by the equivalent of the whoopee cushion, the banana skin and the elderly egg? The Danes, heirs of Hans Christian Andersen and the story of the Emperor with No Clothes, made a good start with the cartoons. But that wasn't anywhere near enough - someone needs to set off a tsunami of uproarious, well-grounded mockery. Ali Sina himself argues that it is the way to shake the adherents of a shame/ honour culture. No more false respect for falsehood, cruelty and despotism!
Let us teach them why medieval Christendom used to celebrate the Feast of Fools. Our most potent weapon is our laughter - for we long ago learned to laugh at ourselves.
Here is Chesterton in the Ballad of the White Horse, when King Alfred burns the cakes and is slapped by a peasant woman - and laughs at himself:
"The giant laughter of Christian men/ that roars through a thousand tales/ where greed is an ape and pride is an ass/ and Jack's away with his master's lass/ and the miser is banged with all his brass/ the farmer with all his flails.
Tales that tumble and tales that trick/ Yet end not all in scorning - of kings and clowns in a merry plight, And the clock gone wrong and the world gone right/ that the mummers sing upon Christmas night/ and Christmas Day in the morning".
Easter, too, like Christmas, celebrates the paradox of the divine humility, the divine folly, the divine become a fool for love - and Easter is the ultimate practical joke, when not the cat but the rabbi came back despite all that Imperial Rome could do.
That is the source of our laughter, in the West. "He [YHWH] has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts", sang Mary, that subversive Jewess "he has cast down the mighty from their seats, and lifted up the lowly" - justifying every Jewish or Christian comedian who has ever trodden the boards. There is no laughter in Islam, for Islam imagines its divinity only as absolute Power.
Personally, I think Tariq Ramadan and Ibrahim Hooper, for instance, have a long overdue date with a rotten egg. If it was good enough for Australia's WWI Prime Minister Billy Hughes, it is good enough for them.
