Terry Davis says that "the fact is that Europe and its values are indeed under threat, but the danger is not coming from Islam. Our common European values are undermined by bigots and radicals, both islamists and islamophobes, who exploit fears and prejudice for their own political objectives."
Moral equivalence of the first water. "Islamophobes" are not flying planes into buildings. They are not predicting their conquest of Europe. They are not physically attacking people who do not conform to their code of conduct.
"Islamophobia"? Stop blowing things up in the name of Islam, and it will disappear. That Terry Davis would ignore all this and equate these two is unconscionable.
"Europe is threatened by bigots - not by Islam," from the Council of Europe (thanks to all who sent this in):
Statement by Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, on the march “Against the Islamisation of Europe” today in BrusselsStrasbourg, 11.09.2007 - European values are under threat, say the organisers of a protest march under the banner “Against the Islamisation of Europe” which was due to place today in Brussels in spite of the ban by the city Mayor. The fact is that Europe and its values are indeed under threat, but the danger is not coming from Islam. Our common European values are undermined by bigots and radicals, both islamists and islamophobes, who exploit fears and prejudice for their own political objectives.
The self-proclaimed defenders of European values say that the Mayor has violated their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights. The freedom of assembly and the freedom of expression are indeed essential preconditions for democracy, but they should not be regarded as a licence to offend. I will not enter into the discussion about whether the march should have been allowed or not, but I note that the protesters’ reading of the Convention is selective to say the least. It is very important to remember that the freedom of assembly and expression can be restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others, including the freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This applies to everyone in Europe including the millions of Europeans of Islamic faith, who were the main target of today’s shameful display of bigotry and intolerance.
"...the freedom of assembly and expression can be restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others, including the freedom of thought, conscience and religion."
Noted: freedom of assembly and expression are on the ropes in Europe. It will be ironic when those whose freedom of thought, conscience and religion Terry Davis is intent on protecting begin to restrict his own freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and that of his friends.

Europes Marxists Envisage Muhammedan Proletariat; Support Mass-Infiltration
* Its hard to believe that communism, not long ago believed dead and gone, is alive and well and on the rise in every country in Europe, America and Australia. Far left extremist agit-props in the media, the universities, in government and in this case here the postal service in Denmark, are not only working in overdrive to subvert and undermine the democratic societies they parasitically exploit, they openly and aggressively sabotage anything that stands in the way to bring about a socialist utopia.
Red Ken Livingston, the commie mayor of Londonistan, Freddy Thielemans, the commie mayor of Brussels, Jack (the burka) Straw, George (georgeous) Galloway, -to name just a few- are all whores for the caliphate and fully in cahoots with the Muhammedan agenda.
While indigenous Europeans vote with their feet and leave in the tens of thousands each month, these commie -whores are systematically cultivating, replenishing and replacing the indigenous electorate with an imported Muhammedan proletariat.

Sheik yer mami.. there's also the 'happy' Mayor of Berlin Red Klaus Wowereit.. ever-so multi-culti..
I am certain more traitorous mayors can be found, but I thought the mayor of one of Europe's major cities should not be missing on your list.
I think that Wowereit was among the small contingent of German GreenSozi POLOticians who travelled to Moscow to deliberately interrupt a State Function there to demonstrate for something-or-other REALLY IMPORTANT!! Of course they were arrested by Russian security forces. I only wish they'd been treated as roughly as the European Freedom Fighters were treated in Brussels by those Wallonian thugs.
But it's OK with these Socialist CREEPS that you can't demonstrate in an ORDERLY fashion in this present-day E.U.S.S.R.
Pfui!!!
How the moslems must be laughing at all of us!!! Our very OWN POLOticians giving them the keys to the store.. using OUR European security forces to arrest Flemish Opposition M.O.P.s.
Outrageous!! Pfui!!

'restricted to protect the rights and freedoms of others'......
Then how in the hell can you use that statement and claim that you have 'freedom of speech' or 'values', you obviously have neither.
The march in Brussels was not violating anyones rights or freedoms, while restricting that march was.
You have the right to religion, belief, and opinion. Someone has the right to disagree with you, that is their right.
When a goverment or group restricts one groups right to disagree with the other, then you are endorsing ONE GROUP and not the other.
How can a person have 'values' when you cannot protect them? Terry Davis needs to drop the use of the word 'values' and use the word 'agenda'.
I want to see Terry Davis condemning the next Muslim group of bigots that organize. He obviously claims that they exist. So, come on Terry have you got the balls to go in public in Europe and condemn Muslim bigots? Or is it easier to condemn your fellow citizens that will not rise up against you while you trash talk their rights away.
Before you point out those Muslim bigots..remember the name Van Geogh.

My concern is that the boat is leaking, not just in Europe, but in the U.S., and we are doing little or nothing to plug the leak: at most a few people are talking about plugging the leak, how to plug it, should it be plugged, can others be convinced to let the leak be plugged, etc. But by the time a critical mass is actually gathered to stop Muslim immigration, will the boat already be sunk?

Traeh,
Do not give up yet. Look here:
Powerful Breakthrough on Capitol Hill !!
Members of Congress Listen in Stunned Silence to Brigitte Gabriel’s Message; Pledge to Work With Us to Fight Islamofascism
Being on Capitol Hill yesterday was a remarkable experience. As Stephanie, my assistant, and I pulled into the Capitol under heavy security, we looked around in utter amazement as heavily armed SWAT teams with their fully loaded M16s stood with hands on triggers ready to fire, covering the Capitol and its surrounding streets. You would expect to see this in Israel — but not in the United States. It is a chilling sign of the times we live in and a harsh reminder that we are at war with Islamofascists who are bent on killing us.
My presentation on Capitol Hill was one of the most important presentations I have ever given. The room filled quickly after the 9-11 ceremony on the steps of the Capitol. I began speaking at 7:30 PM. You could hear a pin drop as Members of Congress sat there stunned, listening to the details I was sharing.
There were no journalists, no cameras, and no CSPAN. With the doors shut I let the truth fly. I was more candid than I have ever been in any public presentation. I knew I had only one chance to drive the point home to these influential representatives who head up and sit on committees making decisions about our country that impact our safety and our future. I spoke as if my life hung in the balance. By the time I was done speaking and finished another hour answering questions, I was standing in the company of brothers and sisters who share the same concerns for the welfare of our nation, our children and our grandchildren.
It was obvious my message was like a breath of fresh air. Our representatives hear from CAIR, Moveon.org and similar organizations, but as many of them told me, there is no one, there is no other organization on the Hill with the message I brought to them on your behalf. One Congressman told me he’s been trying, since 1987, to convey the kind of information I covered, but, in his words, “I have never come close to the level of success you achieve.” To hear the message I delivered and to know there are all of you in their districts with these concerns energized these representatives more than ever to do the job they were sent to Congress to do.
The members who attended were so moved and so motivated that they want to organize a major meeting to have me present to the entire body of Congress, House and Senate, Republicans and Democrats. They are going to reach out to their colleagues who were not at yesterday’s briefing and urge them to get involved as well.
Yesterday’s presentation was the beginning of a partnership between ACT and our elected officials — those who are interested and are listening. They welcomed us to bring issues to their attention, to become more involved in writing bills and resolutions to protect our country and its citizens. This was the beginning of many meetings to come. We are no longer working on the outside and hoping they hear us. We are working with them, hand in hand on the inside.
One of the highlights of last night was meeting Congressman Steve Pearce of New Mexico (http://pearce.house.gov) who introduced the John Doe bill which we helped pass. He sends every one of you his thanks and appreciation for the calls and emails you made to Congress to help pass his bill. I thanked him for being a vigilant and courageous representative protecting the American people. I promised him and everyone in the room, that we at ACT and ACT for America will work with them and support them in writing and presenting bills that will protect our country and our freedoms.
As I reflect on the success of our meeting I am convinced we can tackle not one issue, but many issues. We are now organizing the same type of meeting on the Senate side. Senators could not attend yesterday’s presentation because of congressional protocol. This is why General Petraeus today is repeating his same speech to the Senate.
Please write and thank Congressman McCotter (http://mccotter.house.gov) and Congressman Saxton (http://www.house.gov/saxton) for facilitating this meeting and organizing it. These two people are some of our nation’s best and brightest serving our country and “we the people.”
I especially want to thank you, our members, for standing with me and supporting our team financially. You are the ones who made it possible for us to mail copies of my book BECAUSE THEY HATE to every elected official in our government. It was this effort that opened their eyes. Many members yesterday said that my book is sitting on their night stand or sitting on their desks. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for playing your part in making our efforts possible.
I will be emailing you the list of names of the attendees at yesterday’s briefing and the committees they serve on so you may write them and thank them for attending. Thanking them is as important as your calls urging them to attend. They told me they hear from people on many issues – taxes, immigration, health care – but NOT on national security. Our elected officials need to hear from you.
To continue supporting our efforts and enabling us to do the important work we do please make a financial contribution today. Click here to donate.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

- commentary by Robert
It is my opinion that Terry Davis and his friends have definite plans for the useful Islamic idiots after they have helped crush the Christians and establish a European Soviet Union.
Long before Islam is a threat to the likes of Terry Davis the Islamists will be rounded up and executed by Davis and his pals.
Islam enables creeping communism and commies like Terry Davis enable Islam; a marriage made in hell.

yes Europe is threatened by bigots but those bigots are not citizens who are already there but by Muslim immigrants who want to transplant sharia law with the present citizens who do not become Muslims becoming the new dhimmi of Europe affording these parasites a lifestyle they want to become accustomed to living off those that are their betters and rioting and looting and raping and then using the left-wing media to claim they are being oppressed Muslims are very good at playing the victim card when they are in a position of weakness exploiting the society they want to overrun and dominate

I read the inanities coming from the likes of Terry Davis, and I think, "Geez, didn't this guy ever pick up a history book? Doesn't he realize the very real threat of Islam, doesn't he know that Europe has had to battle (on numerous occasions over the centuries) for its very life against this noxious ideology?" I usually conclude that he is just another useful idiot, but since he is after all, "Secretary General of the Council of Europe" this is still a pretty big sin.
I get to wondering how might the Islamic invasions of years past been thwarted if the West had been hobbled, as we are today, with pc, multiculturalism, and moral equivalency ... and that brings on this sickening feeling that maybe the good guys aren't winning this one at the moment.

sheik yer'mami,
When it comes to organized mass slaughter, Islam has nothing on the technologically advanced West;
look what Hitler accomplished, even back in the 1940s. Today, the efficiency of any such genocide would be on a different scale entirely.
When the Muslims have served their purpose, the new European elite will liquidate any potential problems.
Again, here is an excerpt from
Russian footprints by Ion Mihai Pacepa :
http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=NjUzMGU4NTMyOTdkOTdmNTA1MWJlYjYyZDliODZkOGM=
An excerpt :
"In 1972, the Kremlin decided to turn the whole Islamic world against Israel and the U.S. As KGB chairman Yury Andropov told me, a billion adversaries could inflict far greater damage on America than could a few millions. We needed to instill a Nazi-style hatred for the Jews throughout the Islamic world, and to turn this weapon of the emotions into a terrorist bloodbath against Israel and its main supporter, the United States. No one within the American/Zionist sphere of influence should any longer feel safe.
According to Andropov, the Islamic world was a waiting petri dish in which we could nurture a virulent strain of America-hatred, grown from the bacterium of Marxist-Leninist thought. Islamic anti-Semitism ran deep. The Muslims had a taste for nationalism, jingoism, and victimology. Their illiterate, oppressed mobs could be whipped up to a fever pitch.".
Watch Russia and China.

I attended the SIOE demonstration in Brussels on Tuesday (11th Sept). To my best knowledge, this was the first time ordinary citizens from the free world made an open attempt to register their protest against the encroachments of Sharia Law into the governance of European institutions.
We hoped for a turnout of 20,000. In the event, we got only 250 out on Luxembourg Square (including myself). There may have been another 50 journalists waiting to report on clashes between demonstrators and the police (who had surrounded the demonstration area). Perhaps we might have had a better attendance had we met on a weekend rather than a working day. The fact that the demonstration had been banned by the Mayor of Brussels must have discouraged many other from attending.
However, peaceful, well-ordered and law-abiding demonstrations against Islam are possible. I hope that concerned citizens in the US, Canada and Australia are encouraged to build upon our modest achievement and learn from our failures.

Here's how a German woman was treated by Belgian Police and by moslem "civilians" in Brussels on 9/11:
This is her account in English:
After an approximately six hours drive, we (my three passengers and I) arrived in Brussels and went into the metro, in order to go from the Maelbeek station to the Luxembourg place. In the upper part of the station, policemen stopped a fellow passenger and myself and accused us of wanting to participate in the demonstration. The other two passengers gave themselves inconspicuously and could escape the arrest. The policemen stated they would have to take in administrative detention. The arrest was confirmed by radio. After further inquiry, they explained the reason for the arrest was the display of the European flag, the black-red-gold colours (German flag, note of the translator) on a sign as well as my Israel flag. The German flag in postcard size, likewise fastened to my backpack, did not attract any attention.
Even longer negotiations with the fortunately predominantly flamish policemen (the present French speaking policemen, treated my fellow passenger quite rudely), at the metro led to no result. The offer to cover and stow the flag in the backpack the sign away and go away, led to nothing. There was no Platzverweis, no reading of rights, nothing. Consider this: we had not even left the metro at this time, and were neither at the Schuman nor at the Luxembourg place. At least we could convince them not to put on us handcuffs and to mark our personal things, so that they would not get lost.
From the station, we went by a prisoner transporter with flashing blue light to the Palais de Justice. There we had to wait, since the arrival of so many arrestees blew up their capacities. About ten to 15 minutes later we were requested to leave the transporter and to follow other arrestees. The way led through rows of policemen similarly to a Spiessrutenlauf. With calls of “faster, faster” we were driven into the cell block. This was already well filled.
I was put into a cell with two older ladies. We introduced ouserlves. The older one of the two about 60 years old belonged to the demonstrators of the Vlaams Belang (incidently married to a Brazilian of indian descent, so much for the the right-wing extremists racists of the Vlaams) and the other lady, very delicate, about 40-50 years old, elegantly dressed, with a Christian background. Both had been bound during their arrest on the backs with cable straps. The traces of it was easily seen on the Christian, her hands were particularly red and were swollen due to the cable straps, they faded only after hours.
I was now separate from my fellow traveller, but I could however still see him in another cell, and communicate with him through shouting. The entire cell block was well filled - hardly a cell (2m x 1,5m), which was not occupied with three to six prisoners. The sound level in the cell block was nearly intolerable. A gang of seven to eight French speaking neo-Nazis shouted speech choirs (most fortunately incomprehensibly for my ears), and struck for hours against the cell doors. The arrested Flemings for their part over-sounded these with flamish singing or or shouting support for their arrested parliamentarians. None of the arrested Flemings showed these neo-Nazis any sympathy. I kept busy myself with the singing of the German national anthem, insulting the neo-Nazis, which were locked up directly opposite to myself and discussions with my co-prisoners. After several hours we were given drinking water (however not for my fellow passenger, despite repeated inquiries) and again one hour later a waffel. The drinking bottles were now used by the neo-Nazis, to make still more noise. The Flemings meanwhile ignored them, as an older gentleman had probably broken down due to stress. I could only observe diagonaly through the bars, however he lay quite a while on the tiled floor of the lowest floor surrounded by several policeman/law officers, who took care of him. It took still quite a while, about one hour, until finally professional medics arrived. These supplied the man with syringes and oxygen. A half hour later he was then so far transportable that they carried him away.
My fellow passenger appeared around half past five at my cell door and told me that he would soon be released. The accompanying policeman or justice official promised to get me released quickly as well. Around six o’clock I was then led out of the cell, searched, interrogated, and put into another cell with young women from the Vlaams Belang. Talking to them I learned, how they were arrested at the Schuman place. Again the smallest and most delicate one of them (about 160 cm tall) was thrown directly by four policemen on the ground, she had to put her hands behind her head and then a policeman knelt over her. Squeezed like this, it took a while before the cable strap was put on. With the other two women, who were in the process of removing their burkas, in order to step on this symbol of suppression with their feet, only two policemen each were probably enough to overwhelm them roughly. Now it meant waiting again. I noticed the fact that their shoe laces were missing and asked the women about it. I was informed that they had to give up all the laces, belts, chains and bra’.
I found this very ironic, as I still possessed all of these dangerous items. During none of my body searches, I was requested to get rid of any of those items. Which let me to think that this measure was quite arbitrarily enforced. In the meantime I had lost sight of my fellow passenger. In the cells calm had returned, most men - also the neo-Nazis - were released and only the women remained locked up. Gradually they also were released and I sat as the last one in my cell. Briefly before eight o’clock I was also led away. At this time only two women were left with me in the cell block. At a counter I was requested to confirm the receipt of my belongings. I had been searched at the metro and my identity papers, my purse, my pocket knife and my backpack had been taken away. During a second search my remaining items : car keys, change, my stab resistant vest and a hair band where taken. I simply refused to sign as I neither speak sufficient Flemish or French, furthermore some items were still missing.

From the photos I saw, the main targets of the "shameful display of bigotry and intolerance" at the Brussels protest were white guys in suits who were engaging in "freedom of peaceful assembly".
Brussels should be ashamed.
The EU should be ashamed.
But they won't be. The jackboots are back, guys. One commenter said "We have de facto a totalitarian situation where dissenters are made common criminals". The unelected rulers "have no qualm whatsoever of beating up and criminalizing civilians and politicians with whom they happen to disagree".
Baron Bodissey of Gates of Vienna posted "I cannot make this point strongly enough: A legitimate movement with a legitimate grievance was illegitimately but legally banned by a politically motivated mayor and a politically motivated court, after which black clad, politicised state enforcers, armed with batons and dogs, arrested and dispersed legitimate demonstrators because they held a differing political viewpoint. ... Can one really argue that Europe, run by unelected Marxists and ex-Communists, has failed to make fully clear their determination to disallow, by any means possible, democratic opposition to their vision of some unprecedented multicultural utopia in their unholy alliance with Islam, a political creed which hates Western civilisation almost as much as our rulers themselves? So, if we can agree that Europe is now totalitarian, where does this leave us?"

"A quick look at the substantive rights protected by the European Convention on Human Rights confirms this statement. Articles 9, 10 and 11 guarantee the freedom of thought, the freedom of expression and the freedom of assembly and association."
"I will conclude with one simple thought: democracies which violate human rights are not only threatening individuals, they are threatening themselves. It is democratic suicide."
Part of a speech given by Terry Davis (Secretary General of The Council of Europe) on 13 June 2007, Sweden.
So much for European guarantees?
