Sharia Dentist Update: this is the same fellow who is charged with refusing to treat a woman unless she was wearing a headscarf. Now it comes out that he gave the hijabbed ones a discount, too. "Dentist cut fees for women in Islamic dress," from the Manchester Evening News (thanks to Morgaan Sinclair):
A MUSLIM dentist has admitted reducing his fees to encourage female patients to wear the Islamic headscarf.Dr Omer Butt, from Prestwich, told a disciplinary hearing he would ask Muslim women to cover up in observance of Islamic law before he treated them.
But he denied refusing to treat a nurse because she would not follow his rules.
The nurse, known as Patient A, told the hearing she was left `humiliated and upset' when she went to Dr Butt's Unsworth Smile clinic in Bury, in April 2005.
The nurse, a non-practising Muslim, claimed Dr Butt said she would have to find another dentist because she wouldn't wear a headscarf.
Dr Butt told the General Dental Council professional conduct committee the Islamic ethos of his surgery was a `marketing tool'.
He said: "If they are prepared to wear the headscarf, I am willing to reduce the fee or completely waive the fee."
He said he identified the woman as a Muslim because of her name, which has roots in Islam, then `politely' asked her to wear a headscarf.
He said: "I did request her to wear the headscarf. I said `It would help me if you would wear a headscarf'.
"Her response was she looked at me with a smile and said `Oh, that's strange'."
He said it was `unlawful' for him, as a Muslim, to look at a Muslim woman who was not properly covered up. He added: "If she was to adhere to my request, it makes me feel more comfortable.
"It was a polite request. It was a simple request. It was never more than a request."

.......the patient could not have been that ugly...

"It was a polite request. It was a simple request. It was never more than a request."
Oh, I can think of a few requests of my own. Simple requests. Polite requests.
Such as,
1. Kindly keep your beliefs to yourself.
2. If you prefer to live under the rules of sharia, consider this a most polite request to find a sharia friendly paradise of your choosing and move there. Bon Voyage.
3. If full equality of rights &/or the natural beauty of the female client presents an issue, its time to reconsider a profession more suitable to your beliefs or refer to requests one and two.

Dr Butt told the General Dental Council professional conduct committee the Islamic ethos of his surgery was a `marketing tool'.
Marketing for Islam using dentistry (and its associated torture implements), or marketing for his dentristry business using Islam as a drawing card? Either way, despicable, but I'd still be interested in the answer (I think it's clear).
A young teen girl whom I know received a very painful leg injury in a sports event. The regular doctor was away and so a muslim associate looked at her ... literally "looked at": He sat across the room, asked which leg it was, and said: "It doesn't look that bad to me, the pain will go away in a few days". He would not touch, or approach, the girl (whose mother was in the room at the time).
The mother sped the girl across town to a walk-in sports clinic. After a physical examination the leg was X-rayed -- no broken bones but serious cartilege injury. The leg was bound in a soft cast and she was on crutches for 3 weeks. Further use of the leg, they said, could have caused a permanent injury.
Incompetent, yes, but I'll say that at least this guy wasn't trolling for proselytes or agitating to impose sharia on patients trapped in his office. (Though perhaps his refusal to directly examine her can be attributed to Islamic foibles related to an application of Sharia to himself, which almost had serious negative effects on the girl's health...)

So is this dentist saying, that he along with countless millions of muslim men, cannot control himself if he sees a woman's hair, neck or ears? Can he control himself if he sees her teeth and gums?
As an American of rather conservative Catholic bent, I have often decried the sickness of our sexually obsessed USA Hollyweird culture, degrading music lyrics and current female fashions which turn out slutty looking clothing even for the pre-teen girls. But this Islamic ideology is JUST AS OBSESSED with sex; they see it everywhere even in a woman's jaw line. This is a total negation of the idea of free will and self-control. It is in its own way just as degrading to a woman's body seeing her ONLY as a sexual item not as a person with a tooth ache or injured leg or whatever.

Very well. Then non-muslim dentists should do likewise; the rates on muslim patients could also be raised. Fair is fair.

Im just curious. If a non Muslim dentist told a Muslim woman she would get a discount or free work if she would remove her scarf, what would the reaction be?

bevc, BRILLIANT! HIT IT RIGHT ON THE HEAD,
"As an American of rather conservative Catholic bent, I have often decried the sickness of our sexually obsessed USA Hollyweird culture, degrading music lyrics and current female fashions which turn out slutty looking clothing even for the pre-teen girls. That is the BEST ANALYSIS of the hypocrisy of 'chuavinist paternalism' in Islam and comparison to the sexualization of women/girls in the West,
because thats JUST it, both, treat the female gender as nothing but sexual 'things', of all the analysis I've read, on this subject,
that is the best. That is exactly what the sheets do--they give the message that a woman is a thing, a shameful thing,
not human, not of worth, not of anything, just a chattel, a piece of property, to be guarded from coveting.
And the absolute 'refusal' of Moslem men to take RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS,
is just disgusting. This dentist, should have his license pulled IMMEDIATELY, if he's that weak and UNPROFESSIONAL he has no business whatsoever working on ANYONE'S teeth. His mind should be on his work,
not on sex/sexuality while he's working.
On a good note however, the court ruling yesterday regarding polygamy [Utah case] is GOOD--
the man was charged with complicity to rape. Ha Ha, I can't wait, to see, that applied to the hundreds of Moslem pedaphiles and rapists in the US, who think, that they can marry off forcefully young girls, who are minors against their will--
I sincerely hope, that the LAW is enforced. The court decision sends out a STRONG MESSAGE,
FORCING A YOUNG GIRL TO MARRY, AT 14, AGAINST HER WILL,
IS
RAPE.
TAKE THAT AND CHOKE ON IT MOSLEMS WHO WANT YOUR SICK SHARIA IN THE WEST.

I wonder what the College of Dentists thinks about Dr. Butt's special fee schedule. It's one thing to waive a charge in light of a patient's financial status, but rather another to selectively discount on the base of religious affiliation, isn't it?

It is not that his fees for Muslims are lower, his fees for non-Muslims are higher. Try doing that in a chemist's shop or M&S.

Here's an update on Dr. Butt:
Veil row dentist found guilty
A dentist who told a female patient she could not receive treatment from him unless she wore "appropriate Islamic dress" has been found guilty of serious professional misconduct.
Dr Omer Butt, registered in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, received an admonition following a three-day disciplinary hearing of the General Dental Council in London in which he was found guilty of discriminating against the woman named only as Ms A.
Stewart Goulding, chairman of the GDC professional conduct committee, told Dr Butt that his conduct had fallen short of the standard expected of a dentist in that he had not put the interests of patient A first on April 18, 2005.
But he said the committee had noted testimonials from patients and mitigation that he had put before them. The committee had also heard there had not been any previous disciplinary hearings against him, he said.
Concluding the case, he said: "In deciding on sanction the committee has considered the options available starting with the least serious. The committee is satisfied that the appropriate decision is to conclude the case today with this admonition.
"As a member of a caring profession, a dentist has a responsibility to put the interests of patients first. The professional relationship between dentist and patient relies on trust and the assumption that a dentist will act in the best interests of the patient.
"In the light of the committee's finding of facts, it is apparent that on April 18, 2005 your conduct fell short of the standard expected of a dentist in that you did not put the interests of patient A first. The effect of your actions on this occasion was to impede patient A's access to local dental services."
The finding of serious professional misconduct came after the committee earlier ruled that Dr Butt was guilty of telling patient A words to the effect that, in order to receive treatment from him, she needed to wear appropriate Islamic dress.
The committee also ruled that he had told Ms A that if she did not wear a headscarf, she would need to register with another dentist.
The dentist was found guilty of undermining public confidence in the dental profession by discriminating against Ms A, a non-practising Muslim, in seeking to impose an Islamic dress code on her in order for treatment to be provided by him.

Infidel women! Free dental care! All you have to do is put on the stupid head scarf, murmur Allah Akbar a couple of times and this idiot will fix your teeth for free!
You leave the office and burn the scarf in front of his place of business and move on. If enough folks do this, he'll go out of business OR move his office due to the stench of burning scarves.

He said it was `unlawful' for him, as a Muslim, to look at a Muslim woman who was not properly covered up. He added: "If she was to adhere to my request, it makes me feel more comfortable.
He wasn't supposed to be looking at her hair or her body, just her teeth! If this isn't an admission of the incompatibility of muslims in Western societies, I don't know what is! I pity sick and injured people in the UK who cannot choose their own physicians and are left at the mercy of pious muslims, who are not allowed to "look at women", for God's sake! How can they treat the sick if they cannot look at them or touch them? I wouldn't let this quack touch my teeth if he was the only dentist in the UK!
I cannot imagine the discomfort, aggravation, and inconvenience of having to wear a headscarf all the time. It would drive me crazy. I wonder how many people have died because a muslim doctor wouldn't look at them or touch them. I wonder how many people have died because a muslim doctor deliberately neglected to treat them or treated them improperly. Since it could be a matter of life and death, muslim doctors should not be permitted to treat non-muslims.

Would you, if a non-Muslim or a non-observant Muslim, wish to have Omer Butt doing your dental work? Any worries? Any reason to think he might, just might, inflict a little more pain rather than attempt always to lessen it? Why would such a person risk going to someone with the views expressed by Dr. Omer Butt?

I have not been following this case but the interesting thing is that it was a non-practicing muslim who complained. Which means he had been doing it to kuffers for years and getting away with it?

Mr. Tommy Atkins,
Hmmm...I guess you have to be really careful of whom you call a racist. Even though the case was dropped Mr. Butt got to experience what Muslims want all of us to go through, i.e., the hassle of legal cases. Too bad for him that the cop who arrested him didn't buy into his "your a racist" B.S. LOL!!!

The fact is,
Islamic women have a much higher Mortality rate than women in non-Islamic countries,
in Iran, one in 360 women die in childbirth, though much lower compared to Afghanistan [and in Somalia, where its astronomical] its still WAY HIGHER than non-Islamic countries/West.
And its due, to illiteracy/uneducation among women [forced due to Islam/segregation] and therefore, no women doctors/midwives to care for them...
when a mother dies, the daughter is pulled from school [if she's allowed to go] and forced then to take the mother role, or of course, the other 'slaves' [wives].
In Indonesia, a ferry turned over, the men let the women drown rather than assist them, due to the Islamic codes of not being able to touch a woman,
its not enough that she is covered in ridiculous black sheets,
she's still 'unclean' even when covered, and allowed to die, in more ways than one.

Interesting link. I was very pleased to see this story if it means the police are at last doing something about Asian drivers even ones who own Porsches.
They are normally too terrified of being called racists to tackle Asians motorists who have as much contempt for motoring law as any other kuffer law. Working in an Asian area a black woman advised me to be careful because her Asian neighbours would have one insurance policy that the whole family used when necessary. They are notorious for working motor insurance scams I once saw two cars being carefully driven into each other to form the basis of a claim. Is it true that its OK for muslims to screw insurance companies because insurance is an attempt to avoid the judgement of Allah and therefore blasphemy?
As for the police's reluctance to allow him use his mobile phone, they use these after “accidents” to summon up their numerous “cousins”. A relative, 5’ 0” tall, size 8, 60 years of age, was rammed on a supermarket park car park by a car containing four of our Asian citizens. They surrounded her, claimed it was her fault and got on their mobile phones to summon a further eight large Asian men to support them. You can imagine how intimidating it was and a group of British students close by quietly told her they would stay and watch until the incident was over. Our Asian citizens made £3,000 out of her insurance that she would have to repay in lost no claims bonuses.
As you say nice people.

I remember the gossip of similar cases with Iranian students pulling this trick back in the early 80's. When I was just a young thing in college and taking a class at Cal State Fullerton I was warned to be careful around these Iranian students because they would ram your car for the insurance $$$. I remember one time there were four of them in a convertible, with two sitting on the back of the car with their feet sitting on the seats, zipping in and out of traffic. I just laid back so that they would pass and got away from them ASAP. It's been going on that long.
