Toronto mosque tells Muslims to stay away from Western holidays

Supremacism, not assimilation. "How can we bring ourselves to congratulate or wish people well for their disobedience to Allah?"

"Mosque says to avoid Western holidays," by Stewart Bell in the National Post:

TORONTO - A Toronto mosque is telling Muslims not to say "Happy Thanksgiving" or invite friends into their homes for turkey dinner on the holiday weekend.

The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque says to "avoid participating" in dinners, parties or greetings on Thanksgiving because it is a kuffaar, or non-Muslim, celebration.

A two-part article on the mosque Web site says Muslims should also "stay completely away" from "Halloween trick-and treat nonsense," Christmas, New Year's, anniversaries, birthdays and Earth Day.

"How can we bring ourselves to congratulate or wish people well for their disobedience to Allah? Thus expressions such as:Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Birthday, Happy New Year, etc, are completely out," it says.

In 2003, the Khalid mosque, which mainly serves the Toronto Somali-Canadian community, apologized for a newsletter that compared wishing someone a Merry Christmas to congratulating a murderer.

At the time, a junior employee was blamed for the slight, but the mosque's Web site has since posted similar edicts covering not only Christmas but also virtually every other Western celebration.

So the Grinch is a Canadian Muslim.

These guys don't even recognize their birthdays? That's just sad.

“…a newsletter that compared wishing someone a Merry Christmas to congratulating a murderer.”

Yes indeed. Why congratulate a murderer when you can base your whole religion on the teachings of one.

Imagine if Muslims one day were to make up the majority of the population in Canada... Makes your head spin if you still had one. Sad, really sad.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Frogs said,"Hey you want to stay out of the holidays, we wan't you to stay out of Canada." I just hope they don't send 'em south.

The grand vision of multiculturalism instituted by the left is and will further be shown to be a complete failure. We have set ourselves up for cultural suicide and much worse.

Ban Muslim immigration. Start emigration.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the light of the world: he that followeth Him shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Ah yes, indeed. To avoid the label "islamophobic", we are to respect all things muslim: footbaths, headscarves/subhuman rights for women, ramadan fasts, polygamy, child brides, inhumane slaughter of animals, and ditching your work position at least three times per shift to "pray."

But, in view of the superiority (sarc) of islam, they don't have to return the favor. GET A CLUE, westerners!

John Tory of the Progressive Conservatives, who is running for Premier in the upcoming election, has promised to fund religious schools in Ontario with taxpayers' money.

That's what we need: publicly funded Muslim schools that preach this type of separation.

At first, John Tory said he would not allow a free vote on the issue if he becomes Premier. This week, he said that he would allow a free vote after all. (In a free vote, provincial members of parliament can vote according to their own convictions or those of the people they're supposed to represent: they don't have to follow the party line.)

Someone has finally convinced Mr. Tory that he's going to lose the election over this issue. I don't think the free vote will convince many people. As in the poll recently featured here that showed more and more Americans are wising up about Islam, it seems the same might be true of Canadians. We can read. We can put two and two together.

I noticed that this article in today's National Post does not editorialize at all; it just presents the information as found on the website. The Post is letting readers make up their own minds. I'm looking forward to reading the letters to the editor.

Those of you who sometimes browse the online fatwa mills this is not something new.

http://islamqa.com/index.php?ref=947&ln=eng&txt=holiday

This particular opinion states that it is a great sin merely to greet filthy infidels* with a holiday greeting. I have seen similar opinions; this is mainstream Mulsim rules, not some extreme version.

I posted another opinion here -

http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/018347.php#comments

*I saw a article once that states that kuffar is used as a pejorative for non-believers - I translate that to mean "filthy infidels."

Here they go again. Muslims telling us what they really think of us. But the multuculturalist idiots will ignore it and indeed call us Islamophobes for pointing it out. Sigh.

Posted by: Proud Infidel [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 3, 2007 10:22 AM

How can you be surprised by this? Muslims sustain Islam by blocking the truth, keeping people's minds closed, and self-imposing totalitarian and primitive rules upon themselves. This way Muslims are right, and everybody else is wrong.

-- from the article above

This, of course, is standard Islam. See Al-Qaradawi. See any of the manuals, or any of the Islamic websites. Is there an exception? Yes, if by offering some kind of carefully worded "greetings" in or around Christmas, and if it is done in order to advance the cause of Islam, then it may be justified. Azzam Pasha, in 1951, the head of the Arab League (and of the family of Ayman al-Zawahiri) sent Christmas greetings to Christians. Why? Well, three yeas before, Azzam Pasha had promised that when the Arab armies invaded the newly-declared state of Israel, there would ensue a "massacre the likes of which would not have been seen since the days of the Mongols." Unfortunately for Azzam Pasha and all his enthusiasts, it didn't turn out that way. In 1951, still licking his wounds, and long before the OPEC trillions, Azzam Pasha thought it politic to send out Christmas greetings.

And even the Ayatollah Khomeini, before he solidified his power over Iran, and wanted to prevent Infidels from aiding his enemies, sent out holiday greetings to the world's Christians.

There are passages in the Qur'an and hadith that clearly forbid any recognition by Muslims of the religious practices or holidays of non-Muslims, lest those Muslims begin to think that somehow non-Muslims can be treated as equals, instead of as the dhimmis they were always meant to be, laboring under disabilities intended, above all, to be constant reminders of their own humiliation and degradation, because they refuse to believe in Islam, that is refuse to accept the true, the right, the only conceivable way, the way that Allah revealed to Muhammad and that only the "ungrateful" kuffar would reject, and so deserve what they get. And then there are hadith that explain that, for the same purposes -- the protection and furtherance of Islam, of the Jihad to spread Islam and tear down all obstacles to it -- sometimes one can pretend, one can indeed utter, here and there, some kind of greeting, that the unwary Infidel will, incorrectly, interpret as a genuine friendly sharing of Christmas cheer and universal good-fellowship.

It is not, not any more than were those greetings by Azzam Pasha and the Ayatollah Khomeini. When one is dealing with a world-wide and well-financed campaign, one that relies, with reason, on widespread ignorance of what is actually contained in the Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira (why, the very words put off 95% of Infidels, in the same way that those long Russian names put so many non-Russians off from reading "Anna Karenina" or "War and Peace"), and what those seemingly innocuous terms, such as fi sabil Allah ("in the path of Allah") really mean (hint: the meaning of that phrase is quite different from, though few non-Muslims will know this, the Christian phrase "walk in the way of the Lord").

Perils bred of ignorance on the part of Infidels, and incessant cunning on the part of Muslims (think of Tariq Ramadan, hissing and slithering away in those interviews). No wonder one needs to constantly be learning more, constantly learning to recognize, and to avoid, still more traps for the unwary.

Wait..I thought that we were told by Muslims that we all worship the same God=Allah. Thanksgiving is a time to thank God, family and friends for all one's blessings. I know an atheist who is a regular Thanksgiving devotee. HE is giving thanks to all his loved ones for what they mean in his life, and leaves any God out of his celebration. Fine with me; this is America. If Muslims want to ignore Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, so be it. They can even ignore the bland but delicious Thanksgiving if they choose. Problem is and what we see in countries dominated by their religion of no peace, is that when they are in the majority, they make the rules for everyone, and they rule the holidays too. Imagine the famous Norman Rockwell painting...move that scene to the dark corner of a basement, with the blinds over the windows and a couple of small candles to give light to the meal. Imagine Thanksgiving with fear, without smiles, without trust (your neighbor might be a spy). Remember the joyless, cruel unforgiving world that billions of people are trapped living in the "Islamic" world. There are no happy people there. The rejection of Thanksgiving is a natural outcome.

The warped practice of multiculturalism in western societies confronted with an aggressive ideology who refuses to assimilate into the constructs of western cultures, makes for a deadly combination that could eventually lead to the loss of our western identities.

Posted by: Foehammer [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 3, 2007 11:01 AM

Better idea....get out of the West.

Posted by: interestinconundrum [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 3, 2007 11:24 AM

Mackie, correct. Muslims have destroyed a many great cultures, except those where Christians have stood their ground, such as in Lebanon (from whom whose Christians found many of the things the West associates with Arabic culture; you would be hard pressed to find something culture-wise that Lebanese Christians don't know about), and other Christian enclaves.

What do Muslims know about nurturing culture? All they know about is forgetting the past and going through life looking through Islamic glasses, invading and forcing everyone (on thread of annihilation) to wear the same glasses.

Posted by: ofcourse [TypeKey Profile Page] at October 3, 2007 11:37 AM

We must be able to define, and defend our western values towards this aggressive ideology.

We must also be able to define our enemy so as to be able to defend ourselves.

" Know your enemy and know him well!"

General Douglas MacArthur

There are still way to many people, and politicans who cannot see the forest thru the trees, they cannot see the duck as it walks and quacks as well.

This is why a site such as Robert Spencer's Jihadwatch are so important to make people aware of the hegemonic determinations of the Islamic ideology.

Good God. Here's what the link just above yields:

Perhaps someone out there -- not an amateur -- will as a volunteer carefully translate this. No machine translation please; their productions are farcical.

If the muslims don't want to help the local economy, then post the name of businesses that are owned by muslims.

BOYCOTT MUSLIMS STORES.

Everyone is complaining about our U.S. Dollars going to Saudi Arabia and we can't do anything about, well now you can. Boycott local stores that are muslim owned.

Get lists of Muslim businesses that produce goods overseas and are carried in your local retailer. Let your local retailer know that you will not be buying those goods.

The Unions in America chase labor and production out of America and into the hands of mostly cheap muslim labor. This is the same muslims that made the clothes that you are wearing that was rioting in the streets last Friday. They are in Indonesia, Malaysia, Bahrain, etc.

Muslims will not live in your community if they can't make a living.

"The Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque"

Not exactly subtle about their attitude and intent. Khalid bin Walid was one of the most brutal and bloodthirsty of Muhammad's companions. Benjamin Walker writes:

"A wine-lover and lustful debaucher, Khalid took sickly sadistic delight in beheading a defeated chieftain on the battle-field, selecting his wife (if young) or daughter and celebrating his nuptials with her on the spot soaked with the blood of the victim (father/husband of the bride)." [Benjamin Walker, Foundations of Islam, p. 316.]

Bin Walid is also reported to have disguised himself in a burka,* during a battle, in order to get close to the enemy leaders. Bin Walid killed one of them by hugging him and squeezing so hard he crushed his ribs.

*A disguise still used today by many jihadists.

From the above: el 70 por ciento de los españoles convertidos al Islam en los últimos 15 años procede de organizaciones pertenecientes a la izquierda radical o a grupúsculos antisistema.

70% of all conversions to pigslam by spaniards hve been by members of extreme-left and anti-system organizations.

This confirms what many among us have always suspected.

I don't have the time to translate the entire document but this should remove all doubt:

"La fascinación por el Islam de los comunistas españoles no es nueva. Hace unos meses, el ex secretario general del PCE, Santiago Carrillo, manifestó en un programa televisivo que “el Islam era un poderosísimo instrumento revolucionario” contra los valores occidentales que representan los Estados Unidos."

"The fascination with islam among Spanish Communists is nothing new. Just a couple of months ago the former Secretary General of the Communist Party of Spain, Santiago Carrillo, stated on a television program that "Islam is a powerful instrument of revolution." against Western Values as represented by the United States."

That pretty much sums up the article.

Senior Carrillo and all like-minded Marxists are fools (in relation to Marxism, I mean). Sure Islam is anticapitalist, but so what? How would implementing sharia move society forward from capitalism to socialism? It wouldn't. There is nothing about Islam that does away with private property, wage labor or class exploitation. Islam veils class rule with religious illusions that Marx scorned. Mohammedanism is an effort to turn back the historical clock that Marx would have rejected. Islam's ultimate ideal is perfect and total stasis, not progress. It sounds like the New Left is becoming the Old, Old Right. If you have time, read the first few pages of the Communist Manifesto and try to picture Marx saying, "and in capitalism's final crisis, the proletarians will rise up and establish Islam." You'll see how far these Communists have drifted from their roots.

From the article:

None of these are religious holidays. It is not a case of Muslims being unwilling to celebrate another religion's holidays like Christmas or Passover or Diwali. The imams at this mosque, you know, the people who have spent their lives studying Islam and who would therefore know it better than any idiot infidel "Peaceful Religion" spokesperson, these imams are telling Muslims that they cannot even wish the unbeliever well, or utter the most simple empty platitudes ("Happy Birthday", "Best wishes for the new year"). This is not just religious intolerance; this is a seething hatred for the kuffar who is on the same level as excrement according to their religion. They can't stand us, in a way that we have not even begun to fathom.

I have no tolerance for their intolerance. They don't belong here. They shouldn't be living amongst those they hate with such a passion.

Greetings in the name of the Lord God, creator of light and the world.

This one is a non-story, in my opinion. So Muslims refuse to participate in Christian holy days. So what? Do Christians participate in Muslim holy days, or Hindu or Buddhist holy days? Why should any adherent of one religion participate in the holy days of another religion? I'm sure most of you would be unhappy about attempts to suggest that Christians living in majority-Muslim countries should participate in Muslim holy days.

My standards are pretty minimal. Stay peaceful, and do not try to impose your religion on everyone else. I think that would be progress.

Surak -- This isn't just about religious holidays. It's also about Halloween, New Year's, anniversaries, birthdays and Earth Day.

At its heart, it's about shunning non-Muslims to show that we, and our culture, are beneath them.

In my opinion, it's also about Muslim religious leaders maintaining control over their flock by keeping them separate from us. If they prevent Muslims from being friends with non-Muslims, they prevent them from recognizing us as fully human.

If Muslims get to know us as individuals, they might begin to question their religion, and those religious leaders would lose some of their power.

muslims are honest to their faith, they are much stronger than the average westerner.
westerners are weak, have no souls and are obsessed with entertainment media and politics.

islam may well become the western dominant religion in the middle of this century. we may see the end of many of our traditions and customs.

in 100 years we could see great ancient architectures such as stonehenge being blown to pieces.

but i guess the average westerner thinks we are crazy, racist even, at the least we are ignorant bigots who know nothing about multiculturalism, i mean look at norway, multiculturalism works so well there.

Well, as that supreme Islamist Khomeini proclaimed
'THERE IS NO JOY IN ISLAM!'
Perhaps it is time to trot out the Ayatollah's
speeches and remind the World of the 'joys' they
will experience under luverly Sharia Law'...

From the http://www.walrusmagazine.com/articles/2007.09-religion-spains-new-muslims/3/ linked to above:

Zapatero began his address by calling himself the leader of an “ancient and diverse country, with different languages, different traditions, different cultures.”

Arístegui ... notes, “the number who support the ideals that feed terrorism is much greater.”

...converts may be an unwitting Trojan Horse through which a more conservative Islam will take hold in Spain.

“I don’t defend the fatwa [against bin Laden], not at all,” he says. “To condemn an act of terrorism — as we all should — is one thing. But a fatwa is a much more serious thing, issued only by those with a great deal of education and preparation. I don’t think that those who declared it against bin Laden had that kind of education. I would never do such a thing.”

Many saw in Escudero’s expulsion a disapproval of the Junta’s actions, especially the bin Laden fatwa. Others considered it a referendum on the Junta’s more liberal interpretations of the faith.

‘But given immigration and the birth rates, aren’t Muslims going to take over Europe one of these days?’ I answered, ‘If you have two groups, and one of them scorns marriage and has a high rate of divorce and doesn’t want to bring children into the world, and the other one has strong families with lots of children, well, what’s wrong with that?’”

[And the kicker by these leftists and ignorant authors] Castiñeira’s story may not comfort many Westerners, but no one can deny his conviction that his faith, his Islam, supports the things that matter — or should matter — to Europeans, whether they be Enlightenment values or strong families. At a time when European society grapples with the outrage provoked by cartoons of Muhammad, debates the propriety of head scarves in public, and feels threatened both by Islamist terrorism and, too often, by government responses to it as well,
