Execution. And the West continues to tiptoe around these madmen, instead of calling madness what it is. Muhammad Teddy Bear Madness Update from the Evening Standard (thanks to all who sent this in):
A major security operation was under way today as a British teacher charged with inciting hatred and insulting religion was brought before a court in Sudan.Trucks protected by armed police transported Gillian Gibbons from her cell at the CID headquarters in Khartoum where she had been kept in custody following her arrest on Sunday for allowing pupils to name a school teddy bear Mohammed.
Security was also tight at the city's court building as fears that extremists might stage a kidnap attempt ran high.
Mrs Gibbons, looking tired and distressed and wearing a dark blue jacket and blue dress, was not handcuffed.
Reports have suggested she could learn her fate by 5pm today.
Before the hearing began the public and press were cleared from the court room but only moments later the case was adjourned for two hours.
The prosecutor-general said Mrs Gibbons, whose case has drawn international condemnation, can expect a swift and fair trial under Sudanese law.
Fair trial? On a charge that is ludicrous? Sudan should be on the receiving end of international condemnation at this point. That it isn't is just more testimony to the madness of our age.
Mrs Gibbons faces 40 lashes and a year in jail after after being charged with insulting Islam. Reports today suggested the complaint against her had been made by a secretary at the school. She was charged after behind-the-scenes political moves to avoid a court case collapsed amid growing Islamic anger in the east African country.
A Sudanese official said it was "unlikely" that Mrs Gibbons would be convicted.
A powerful Sudanese newspaper urged authorities to call a hardline Islamist leader linked to Osama bin Laden to give evidence at her trial, to stress how offensive the case was to Muslims.
Extreme Islamic groups said Mrs Gibbons "must die" and urged Muslims to hold street protests after prayers tomorrow.
At least there are some calls for sanity from Muslim groups in the West:
The Muslim Council of Britain said it was "appalled" at the decision by Sudan....One lawyer said that if Mrs Gibbons pleads guilty and makes profuse apologies, she could emerge with a "relatively minor penalty", such as a hefty fine or a jail term equivalent to the four days she has already spent in custody.
But he warned that rising anger in Sudan, as news of the case spread, might affect the court's decision....
Mrs Gibbons technically faces three charges - insulting Islam, inciting religious hatred and contempt for religious beliefs - each of which carries a maximum penalty of 40 lashes and a year in jail. But it is believed she will stand trial on only one....

What I don't understand is that you can name any crappy little brat Muhammed, and he may grow up to be the most sinning, criminal, un-Muslim person in the "ummah" yet naming some harmless teddy bear "Mohammed" is some great big thing for those useless psychotic jihaders.

I just remembered, when our oldest son was about 2, we bought him a teddy, which we called "Moshe Teddy".
For those that don't know, Moshe is the Hebrew name of Moses.
Not a single threat - amazing!!!

The left is silent as expected and the MSM is so politically correct it is treating the issue with the utmost delicacy.
Pathetic.

Please! Let them at her! Maybe, just maybe if they whip a grandma to death over naming a teddy bear a FEW more people will wake up to this sick effing 'religion of peace'. But probably not.

One lawyer said that if Mrs Gibbons pleads guilty and makes profuse apologies
Pleads guilty, thus admitting that her intentions from the start were to "insult islam" and "incite religious hatred" (whatever that means to the muslim clerics.)
What a nightmare... I guess if anything "good" can come from this it is that negative publicity this is giving an islamic government. As much as they would like to try, our weak hearted media cannot spin this to make it look good.
I guess less westerners will be visiting sudan and other islamic countries to "teach", which it sounds like they really don't want anyways...

"Sudan should be on the receiving end of international condemnation at this point."
Omar al-Bashir=Hosni Mubarak's ally. Hosni Mubarak=West's ally in the "War on Terror." Ergo, Omar al-Basir=total immunity.

"Extreme Islamic groups said Mrs Gibbons "must die" and urged Muslims to hold street protests after prayers tomorrow"....from headline.
I can just hear my pastor encouraging his congregation to go out on the streets and protest over ANY issue following a prayer meeting. The elder board would fire him faster than you could blink an eye.
Considering the fact that Muslims pray to demon forces then I guess it makes sense to get these on fire prayer warriors out on the street while they're still riled up following prayer - when demonic influence is at it's peak.

Is it worth it to feel all warm and fuzzy to educate the poor unfortunate 3rd world?
Just one slip of the tongue can get you killed. These "people" are from another dimension, a dark, scary, nightmare dimension.
The woman didn't kill anyone. She didn't steal. She just wanted to make little children feel affection for an inanimate object. Big mistake.
If you are tempted to go to dar-al-islam to "help" those people... don't.

All infidels should be given a time limit by their countries to leave the ummah. Once the deadline passes that's it-no more helping do-gooder infidels trying to bring education, culture, civilization or anything else to these savages-they will be on their own. Let Illah minister to his minions-this is what they really want. Why interfere with that process?

Beginning today, all English-speakers should stop using the expression "teddy bear" and begin saying "mohammad bear".

It is said that an action, an act, cannot be qualified except in retrospect, i.e., a wrong cannot be seen as such, until it is in the past and the individual looks back at it. My last letter to the Sudan - asking them to clear the teacher - came under a lot of objection here - although - not directly.
And I must say, you are all quite right.
Quite right to say, to state that, it is wrong to send such a request - as if we, in the West, were vassals of the islamics, the Sudanese.
My thoughts were only that the teacher in Sudan was outnumbered, and rather, that anger them, further, it was better to pussy foot around, to see whether the woman could be extricated.
But now, I see that the matter has taken as serious turn, the crazies are calling for execution of the woman - and if it is bad now, imagine how much worse it will be after Friday prayers. AND IT'S IT ALREADY FRIDAY THERE!?
I've written a letter now - there is now - nothing to lose - as the violence is escalating. I've written a letter to the UK Embassy - for good or better, as follows - and indeed, what is there to lose now in writing such? At any rate, I did something, as an individual:
Sir:
The news about about a teacher charged in Sudan, for allowing a stuffed bear to be named mohamed, has been in the news for the last few days.
As a citizen of the United States, I'm asking:
"What is YOUR government doing to extricate Ms. Gillian, a citizen of your country, from this situation?"
As you can see from the following article, this situation has got out of hand:
Teddy bear teacher appears in court as Islamic fanatics demand execution
http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23423342-details/Teddy+bear+teacher+appears+in+court+as+Islamic+fanatics+demand+execution/article.do
As you can see, it has gone beyond the conscionable.
This has EVERYTHING to do with the oppressive religion called ISLAM - and apparently the people of Sudan, government and individual, are set to find out, are pushing to see how far they can go- in regards to their OPPRESSIVE sharia laws' to see how much MORE will we, the Governments and The People of the West, allow them to go.
It's time to stop mincing words, and call a spade a spade:
"It is evident that the doesn't I know that the people of Sudan are from a crazy religion, which calls for punishment at the drop of a pin."
Indeed, to avoid this knowledge, now, doesn't help in any manner. For, who in their right minds, would bother with a toy being named after a religious individual? No one in the West, would go to the extremes of arresting another person for naming a toy, Jesus or Moses, or Buddha. It's craziness!
Well, it has gone far enough. I represent the consensus of The People of the West, our OUTRAGE, and now, formally, call for your government, to step in, use all manners of diplomacy and pressure, to get that woman out of Sudan, save and sound.
This situation cannot be allowed to continue. It is outrageous. Outrageous!
Very truly yours,
-----------------------------------------------------------
I have all the compassion for the woman, and sent every intent and thought, to the Creative Force, to help Ms. Gillian, in all ways.

What about these little monsters who probably set this teacher up? They knew it was "WRONG" to name teddy after that demon spirit Muhammad because they're Muslim. What about them? Aren't they accountable too?
Let me guess, they are being rewarded by the school and by mummie and duddy for a job well done. Extra treats and NO HOMEWORK for a year. Yippee!
Little monsters who are being groomed into BIG monsters -- the dysfunction and disease known as Islam continues.

Muslim supremacists use any excuse for "insulting Islam, inciting religious hatred and contempt for religious beliefs".
My thesis is that this is similar to the political function of lynching blacks in the American south. These murders were used to get the black community to remain submissive and terrorized. Muslims have widely uses blasphemy laws as a form of inter-religious warfare. This is why ANY western society that allows blasphemy laws is doomed. The UK almost fell prey to this tactic.
Tragically, this Muslim tactic is working very well. Artists and comics who should be having a field day with this story are silent. One can only imagine if the Pope had called for the arrest of a teacher who named a teddy bear Jesus, there would be a feeding frenzy. Why the difference? Muslims use symbolic lynching or actual murders (ie dutch film maker murder) in order to stop criticism of ridicule of Islam.
A new civil rights movement needs to be spawned with the equal courage of the 1960's. The goal should be to expose Islamic supremacist ideology. Robert Spencer is a leader in this area and I very much view him in the life of the civil rights movement. In this case, the fight is not just for the soul of America but the soul of the world. We are in a fight for humanity against the forces of religious tyranny. Sadly, within Islam it appears that most moderates and the few liberals are ineffectual. This is similar to blacks waiting for whites to "sort things out" when most supportive whites during the civil rights movement (who's hearts were in the right place) were mostly infective and lacking the level of commitment needed to confront white racism in the Southern USA.
So, my position is that we need to examine how the black civil rights movement cut the legs off of white racism in the 1960's (sure its still around, but most of its teeth have been knocked out). What I see is direct non-violent confrontation and ridicule of the moral superiority of the opponent.
I also see that we should be challenging the complacency of comedians and other social commentators for their silence. This kind of silence during the civil rights movement was named rightly as cowardice and a form of passive racism. A comedian who does not make hay with with the teddybear story is a coward and a passive supporter of jihadism through their silence." We need to start challenging folks who are remaining silent with strong language.

Nope. They can't help it. Every third word coming out of their mouths is "Mo". Plus so many of the little brats have that name. It's a consequence of mindlessly reciting the Koran and learning nothing else-reading, writing, and most importantly, thinking.

Nothing will be done and this woman will die.
Honestly, we've seen people beheaded, burned, mutilated, hung, crucified, and more. We've seen children led to slaughter and we've done nothing. We've seen hundreds and thousands killed on television and we have done nothing.
This is just one more soul being delivered, by our refusal to recognize islam and muslims for the enemy they are, just one more soul killed for allah.

Fox News is reporting that she has been found guilty of' inciting religious hatred' and sentenced to 15 days in prison, to be followed by deportation from Sudan.
I hope the British government doesn't just let this ride for 15 days.

Protesting after church? Here is how Barack Obama's denomination, the UCC, proposes to protest the Sudan / Darfur situation:
http://ucctruths.blogspot.com/
"To respond to this tremendous tragedy, the United Church of Christ asks you to consider joining an innovative new project called Tents of Hope. Through this project, your community, congregation or youth group will create an active learning experience using simulation refugee tents to raise awareness of the conflict in Sudan through education, advocacy and fundraising for humanitarian assistance."
One critic replied:
"If you've been living in a cave for the last 5 years, this might raise your awareness. For everyone else, it is a relatively meaningless event that will do nothing to resolve the crisis but it will allow middle-class Protestants to pretend they are doing something."
Another article at the UCC Truths blog quotes a CBS News poll on Barack Obama:
"Sometimes, voters misperceive a candidate’s religion. In August, CBS News asked registered voters what they thought Barack Obama’s religion was. Most of them - 84 percent - said they didn’t know. But the largest number of those who thought they did know - nearly half of those who guessed any religion at all - thought Obama was a Muslim"
The UCC has a decidedly anti-Israel, pro-PLO stance. They hosted Bishop Tutu at a conference, where he stated that the "Palestinian Aparteid" was as bad or worse than aparteid South Africa. Bishop Tutu led an anti-Israel "occupation" protest after the conference, on the streets of Boston, MA, USA.

Greetings:
James Martel makes his usual good point.
Unfortunately, the West in general and the USA in particular have now had 50 years of PC/Special Victim Group training in how to slip and slide around minority extremists and their attendant unpleasantness.
We have become experts in yielding to demands with very little or no moral justification to justify them.
My current favorite example in this regard concerning Sudan is a program on PBS's Frontline program, The program was entitled "On Our Watch" and was about the situation in Sudan and Darfur. One of the talking heads, referring to the civil war in Sudan that preceded the Darfur problem, referred to that civil war as being "between the Christians and non-Christians."
No country for old men.

to give evidence at her trial, to stress how offensive the case was to Muslims
if they are going to act like barbarians they should be given the choice of being bombed back to the dark ages or behaving
at November 29, 2007 1:57 PM
Like someone forced to share a house with a dangerous lunatic, people in the West are very quickly being conditioned to ask themselves if something they say, do or even think is likely to result in violence from muslims. The craven willingness to self-moderate rather than insist that reason prevail must be contested and mocked at every opportunity. We have been given plenty of ammunition for the battle ahead.

Update: The teacher has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and deportation. Since she has been in jail for 5 days she has 10 more to go.
This quote from Fox News:
"It's a very fair verdict, she could have had six months and lashes and a fine, and she only got 15 days and deportation," said Robert Boulos of the Unity High School, adding they would not appeal the decision.
His comments are expected but misguided. On the one hand the school is still operating, i.e staff still in country, and he doesn't want to inflame the fanatics/government. On the other he is doing a great injustice to his teacher. She deserves to be vindicated on record. Are we to just accept at how benevolent the Sudanese government is by NOT whipping her. Oh be still my beating heart, how understanding the ruling is.
Fair my big fat hairy white ass. To paraphrase John Lennon:
Imagine cutting off all relations, diplomatic and economic, to islamic nations.
Imagine no longer having access to Western technologies.
Imagine where those nations would be.
Now imagine the peace without islam.
Fantasy, yes. Unrealistic, yes. But just imagine.

is this supposed to be a warning to us that we dare not utter a word against islam or face death.these people are really getting on my nerves not to mention the nerves of the world. i can say how i feel about it with no problems or fear. the rest are content to allow this crap.stay away from these stories. they only lavish more attention on the put upon muslim. it is bullshit.

So what are we as a society, country, nation, going to do? Just sit here and do nothing?
What is it going to take for the world to stop these barbaric practices? Shall we build a big wall around theses countries so we can't get into them? Better yet, build the wall so the inhabitants cannot get out.. Perhaps cut all lines of communication so we don't have to know what's going on inside? Where's the outrage from the women's groups in the USA?
Of course, our Muslim pals are holding their heads high through another tirade of "peaceful co-existance" with their non believer neighbors.Yes, we are a "peaceful" religion, so say our Islamic hypocrites, Allah's chosen people....
The subjagation, teaching them a lesson attitude, just like the "blacks" being punished by the KKK, the Jews by the Nazis; senseless, mindless, traditional murders, all in the name of Allah !!!
The religion of Islam, should be "revised" or stricken from history as a plague that inhabits the earth...
Barbaric practices, religions, belong in our history books as an embarrassement of the human race.
at November 30, 2007 6:07 AM
Why simply whip the poor woman when it would be so much more satisfying to pious muslims everywhere if she were lynched and murdered by a mob of pious, peaceful muslims. How wonderfully diverse Islam is, the "religion of peace"!
