Savage is no cringing dhimmi.
By Jacques Steinberg for the New York Times (thanks to Sr. Soph):
SAN FRANCISCO — The humbling of Don Imus last spring over his remarks about the Rutgers women’s basketball team has done nothing to quiet Michael Savage, a radio host with a far bigger following and far more checkered track record.Mr. Savage, whose program reaches an estimated eight million listeners a week on nearly 400 stations, suggested over the summer that a group of college students on a hunger strike in support of easing immigration restrictions should “fast until they starve to death.” In October the Board of Supervisors of San Francisco, the city from which Mr. Savage often broadcasts, took the unusual step of passing a resolution condemning him for the remarks.
Then, a few weeks ago, Mr. Savage uncorked a cascade of invective about Islam. Among his on-air comments: the Koran is “a book of hate”; some Muslims, at least, “need deportation”; and adherents of Islam would do well to “take your religion and shove it up your behind” because “I’m sick of you.”
In response the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose stated mission includes correcting mischaracterizations of Islam, tore a page from the playbook of Mr. Imus’s critics. It made Mr. Savage’s comments widely available on the Internet and called on advertisers to boycott his program, which is behind only Rush Limbaugh’s and Sean Hannity’s in number of listeners, according to Talkers magazine, an industry publication.
At least two of his major sponsors — Citrix, which sells remote access to computers, and Trusted ID, which provides protection against identity theft — have pulled their spots. Thus far, Mr. Savage said in an interview last week, the boycott had cost his program more than a million dollars in advertising revenue committed for next year.
On Dec. 3 Mr. Savage fired back at his critics in a way Mr. Imus never did: He filed a lawsuit in United States District Court against the council, not only for taking his comments out of context — he says they were made within a broader discussion of the president of Iran — but for then making audio of them available on its Web site, cair.com.
With his suit, Mr. Savage has put himself in an odd position for someone who makes his living talking and is a fierce advocate for free speech: He is complaining about others quoting him.
But in the interview Mr. Savage contended that the council had violated the copyright protections on his broadcast by using his words, in effect, to raise money. He cited the bright orange button labeled “Donate” that appears on the council Web site just to the right of the “Action Alert” it put out against him.
“If they are trying to hang me by my own petard, they have no right to use my petard,” Mr. Savage said after Monday’s show. “It’s my petard, not theirs.”
A spokesman for the council, Ahmed Rehab, said, “We think the suit is a P.R. ploy.” (A spokeswoman for Citrix would not discuss the reasons for the company’s decision; the chief executive of Trusted ID, Scott Mitic, said it had abandoned Savage’s program because his audience wasn’t buying the company’s product.)
Yes, and CAIR never engages in P.R. ploys.

I wonder if any JW readers with a background in psyhology would care to comment about the bizarre way Muslims always project their foibles onto others...
I have noticed that nearly 100% of the time, a complaint a Muslim makes, or an accusation which he makes, are actually reflections of his own lack, or his own perfidy and hatred. Muslims constantly claim persecution at our hands, yet it's the Muslims who prove themselves to be the world's top abusers and persecutors of others. They claim that our society needs to change, and that their primitive belief system of Islam has all kinds of wonderful aspects which will make our advanced superior society better, yet the criticisms they constantly level against us, and the hatred they constantly spew towards us seem better designed to characterize their revolting malfunctioning Islamic societies, rather than our own.
It is the Muslims of the world who clearly are inferior. It is the Muslims of the world who clearly have the problem with tolerance. It is their seething, withered, reeking societies of Islam which need the changing, not ours!
Those admonishment filled finger pointing Muslims of the world, those Muslims so filled to overthrowing with advice and criticism leveled always at non-Muslims are the most deserving of criticism and the most susceptible to accusations of intolerance, hatred, and backwardness.
Virtually every nasty thing that flows from the mouths of Muslims is more revealing of the blighted broken mindscape of Islam than anything else. The intolerance Muslims accuse us of is purely a reflection of their own intolerance. When they accuse us of hatred, Muslims are telling us how filled with hatred Islam has made them. Perhaps Islam does something to prevent Muslims from seeing the obvious inferiority of Islam. Perhaps the only recourse Islam allows is to project Islam's obvious failures onto us. Then the Muslims are free to rant and rave and vent without aiming their vicious hatred towards themselves? A mental health expert might know, and might be able to describe the mechanisms of the disorder. In any event, it's high time the vastly superior world stops allowing the Muslims to scapegoat us all for Islam's failures. I for one am sick of suffering because the Muslims are utterly incapable of self assesment. As the perpetrators and perpetuators of disgusting Islam, it is the Muslims, and only the Muslims who should be made to suffer the hideousness of Islam, not the rest of us! We are certainly not to blame for the legendary, eternal, and infinite failures of Islam.

Sorta the same but on a different level, I live in a townhouse and my one neighbor who is a Muslim has kids who play their videogames all the time with the bass cranked up (they don't know the difference between bass and volume) we can hear it all the time pumping through our walls. So annoying but when my wife and I first moved in we'd walk over, ask nicely for them to turn it down they would say it was our tv that was loud or it's us that is making the loud noise even when our stuff wasn't even on. Ugh.
Needless to say our negotiations have failed and now we stoop to the level of beating on the wall whenever they're loud, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't either way after living at our house it's past the point of getting old. He's the type of person that thinks his S&^% doesn't stink, and speeds all over the neighborhood like he's Dale E JR. or something. *SIGH* I'm just waiting for him to hit a poor kid and go to jail.

Assalamau Laikum jsla,
Media outlets and the peoples hosting it have a great responsibility as they can reach out and influence.
Increasingly your media is taking hugh advantage of small mistakes made by the Islamic society.
Had the media not whipped up the cartoon saga or the teddybear story....they would have died with no more than a whimper. There was little need to make these moles into Muhd SWT mountains.
The media needs to maintain balance and respect. You want to focus on the 0.05%....why!...why not the other 99.95% ....how is that fair?...how is that objective reporting?
Like you ...we too are fed up of you making a mockery of noble institutions, ...islmaic institutions, fatwas, life giving rules and wadu as a small sample.
How are your grandchildrens (who will be the minority within half a centuary) expected to show respect and to become decent wuslims if you keep (trying to) knock down Allah's SWT edicts.
It is you who will prevent them from joining the the global citizenship ...of becomg a glorious wuslim and all the halal fringe benefits that come with it.
Imagine please...as a minority and non-wuslim, they will face unemployment, unequal opportunities, greater tax burdens and yes ...even have to drive the taxis of the future...surely this is not what you want for them is it?
Jsla, the kaffur of today can influence future societies, your greatest responsibility is to your childrens...teach them well...so that they can conform and have a fulfilling wuslim life....e.g. wuslims only work half day on fridays, let your childrens enjoy these type of freedoms....let someone else drive the taxis.

If Islam prevails, our grandchildren have no future.

I don't care for Savage's manner and matter but he's right about the petard. Only you can be hoist by your own petard. No one else can hoist you by your own petard, much less by the petard of anyone else.

Call your police department with a complaint about him speeding through a residential area, provide his car make/model license plate # and times he usually does so, let them catch him on a reckless endangerment charge (or three) and see if it calms him down.

I have a feeling all those hydrogen bombs sitting in bunkers now will have flown before it comes to this scenario. Better no world at all than a Muslim world.
If those who are currently non-Muslims become Muslim in the future, there won't be "taxis", because we'll all be riding on camels. The very idea that a society of all Muslims could actually maintain a fleet of taxis is laughable. I can see the conversation now:
"Abdul, what happened to your taxi?"
"Inshallah, Mohammed, I don't know. It must have been Allah's will that it break down."
"OK, let's go smoke the hookah and, inshallah, the taxi will work when we get back."
That's your "glorious" Muslim future.

I'm no psychologist, but I am a Christian, and I'd like to give a Christian take on this phenomenon.
All of the symptoms you have described (and that all of us have observed) indicate that they are demon-possessed. Jesus (peace be upon us -- after all, He is the Prince of Peace) said of some religious leaders in His day:
"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." (John 8:44)
These people are "religious", they are murderers, and they are pathological liars.
Therefore, according to my understanding, they are demon-possessed, and are obeying the devil.
Now the question is: what is it about Islam which causes someone to become demon-possessed?

Whatever...The suit entails the discovery process, Okkmed, and that's what matters, wonderous little puppet.

Thank you for your observations, PersonoftheBook. Though I'm an agnostic, I find your opinion very fascinating. I do believe in evil, and I also can't help but observe that Islam as it manifests in the world seems to sacralize many very evil things.
These include encouragement to hate, exhortations towards violence and mayem, systemic dishonesty and treachery, and outright murder and war against people who don't accept Islam. I also think that Islam's hideous compulsion to kill those whose consciences lead them away from that detestable 'faith' is one of its most evil aspects, binding Muslims like slaves instead of humans free to choose. There is very little that can redeem an ideology that mainly exalts violence and hatred, as Islam clearly does. I do believe it is idolatrous in the classic sense, and this makes it a false religion in my way of thinking.

Regarding angels in the Bible, when they visited personages they came in solid visible forms, I could cite those who came to Abraham, Gideon, Mary, and others.
Now there are also those that are termed fallen angels, those who had transgressed the commands of God and had relations with women that caused most of the old mythologies and their pantheons, legend has it that they are bound and Unable to be physically manifested in the flesh.
It is why there is no phrase they are angel-possessed, Angels do not need to possess anothers body to act.

Hmm, never heard about fallen angels having relations with women.
The main difference between angels and fallen angels is that angels worship and serve God willingly and the fallen angels are the ones who followed Lucifer when he said to God, "I will not serve You." In that split second after he was created, Lucifer fell out of heaven, (actually he was thrown out by St. Michael the Archangel,) and his minions went with him.
It is interesting to note the difference between Satan and the Blessed Mother. Satan, in his pride and arrogance said he would not serve God and convinced Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, which got her and Adam thrown out of the Garden of Eden, because he said it would make them like God and that He didn't want them to know the secret. All it did was take away the gift of living in paradise on earth and making sure that life would be hard for human beings. Satan knew this and encouraged it because he hates humans because God loves us, and since Satan can't be God and hates God for it, he hates us as well and never misses a chance to work for our downfall. the flip side of that is the Blessed Mother. She did not think she was worthy to be the mother of God but did God's will for her and agreed to become Jesus' mother by very humbly saying, "Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to thy word." Perfect resignation, humility and acceptance of God's will by Mary, as opposed to fierce hatred, arrogance and denial of God's will by Satan. This is also why Mary and Satan are immortal enemies and why God told Satan he would crawl on his belly eating dirt all his days and he would lie in wait to strike at the woman's (Mary's) heel, and she would crush his head with her foot.
Person of the Book,
You said: "Now the question is: what is it about Islam which causes someone to become demon-possessed?"
These guys hold as values murder, rape, lying, theft of land and personal property, condescension regarding Islam being above all other faiths (pride) and similar disorders regarding humanity. these sins destroy the happiness and well being of other people. Sin opens the door to more sin and when someone opens themselves up to really horrible sins, like murder and rape, they open themselves to demonic possession. then the more sin they embrace and accept, the more deeply entrenched the possession becomes.
I recently read a book by Fr. Gabriel Amorth, the number one exorcist in the Catholic Church who has performed over 100,000 exorcisms in his lifetime and he said that we cannot even imagine the number of possessed people who walk among us on a daily basis. But it makes sense, that in an age where we disregard God's laws so blatantly, the sins we commit against other people convict us and condemn us to be linked with Satan, hence many times in the form of possession, if we do not turn away from these evils and begin again to treat our fellow man with charity and consideration. Islam is deathly opposed to treating people with charity. (Look at how many Muslims kill Muslims.) It is not a stretch to see that when acts of demons are committed by humans, those humans can get caught up in the bondage that those demons suffer.
