Iran: Top cleric says women without veils must die

And their husbands and fathers, too. Iranian Depopulation Alert from AKI (thanks to Twostellas):

Tehran, 19 Dec. (AKI) - A top Muslim cleric in Iran, Hojatolislam Gholam Reza Hassani said on Wednesday that women in Iran who do not wear the hijab or Muslim headscarf, should die.

"Women who do not respect the hijab and their husbands deserve to die," said Hassani, who leads Friday prayers in the city of Urumieh, in Iranian Azerbaijan.

"I do not understand how these women who do not respect the hijab, 28 years after the birth of the Islamic Republic, are still alive," he said.

"These women and their husbands and their fathers must die," said Hassani, who is the representative of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in eastern Azerbaijan.

I do not understand how these mule-ahs who respect nothing but their own power, 28 years after the birth of the Islamaniac Republic, are still alive.

But hijab wearing has nothing to do with Muslims in Canada, you racist Islamophobic kuffar!

Posted by: Beagle [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 19, 2007 1:25 PM

Such compassion. Such overflowing love for his brothers and sisters.
Someone should put him out of his misery so he doesn't have to suffer looking at the hijab-less sisters, wives, daughters.

Is this what muslim "Friday at the mosque" is all about?

Is Allah really a fashionista?

Imagine Project Runway in Iran. With mullahs for judges.

"You are showing too much eyebrow! You are not only out, but you and the model will be executed! Allah has spoken!"

If followed to the letter, Hasani's edict would probably lead to the murder of 1/2 of the population within 3 to 4 weeks. There would then be very few remaining to break such rules. Another pressing social ill solved via Islamic logic.

Hassani, just another in a long line to publically sanction "domestic violence, a problem that cuts across all societies and is blind to colour or creed."

Seems to me that it would be a little bit difficult to hear the pitter-patter of little bombers around the house if you kill the hijab-less women and their husbands. But then....go ahead. Just show how tolerant and peaceful you muslims truly are. To quote Judge Smells, "Weeeeelllll, we're waiting."

Posted by: Kevin [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 19, 2007 3:09 PM

Dang, we jumped from the thought police going after women with loose head scarves in the summer being told that they are naughty to demanding that they be killed? when faced with a moral dilemma like women showing their bangs in public, Iran sure knows how to git her done.

You know that bomb they are not making, thanks to the assurance of the NIE report? Maybe their scientists will trip and they'll drop it on themselves.

Merry Christmas!

Another job well done by our squirrels in Iran! The stuff they're dumping in the water supply has already addled this mullah's brain. We should air-drop them a load of walnuts as a reward.

I hope Canadian jihadwatchers/ dhimmiwatchers are copying this article and posting it off to Canadian newspaper editors and politicians, with a suitable covering note to connect it to the Aqsa Parvez case.

Parvez is a Persian name, is it not?

That's better.

Merely intemperate rhetorical musings that are designed to coerce people into a more conservative traditional dress sense. A reaction to impinging western culture on a country that is disproportionately 'young'. Looney anti Abortionists standing and screaming outside abortion clinics or one radio talk back use the same tactics of verbal intimidation.

Well, there is one slight difference from the "intemperate rhetorical musings" you speak of. There have been eight or ten "looney anti abortionists" who have killed or injured people since 1990, and no talk shows that have killed anyone that I've heard about. By contrast, there have been on the order of ten thousand attacks by Islamists around the world since 9/11/2001, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths. Other than that, it's almost the same.

Posted by: RalphInfidel [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 19, 2007 11:37 PM

Respecting a dead false god and a dead false prophet is more important than respecting a human beings life. How screwed up & backwards is that? Very!!

God looks at the heart, not on how we dress or do our hair. Muslims are so preoccupied with respect & rituals that they completely overlook the condition of the heart - as exampled by this Muslim cleric. His heart is so wicked because he seeks the death of women who are not wearing veils; yet he isn't looking at his own sin of calling for the murder of women. So he's a hypocrite too.

RalphInfidel, Mr. Xavier is an islamic apologist and a moral relativist. He proffers insipid equivalencies for islamic depravities as he attempts to downplay their gravity and relevance.

He might even be a muslim troll, attempting to make us all look like hysterical "islamophobes" and doomsday freaks. He reminds me of a previous troll who always ended his posts with "just doing some thinking."

If he's not a muslim, he is definitely sympathetic to islam for some mysterious reason. He even accused me of being a "feminist" or an "emotional feminist" (I don't remember his exact words) for pointing out the indisputable FACT that females in islam are chattel, owned by males, and unable to seek medical treatment without permission from their male owners.

I'm definitely a proponent of equal rights for women but I am hardly an activist feminist. In fact, I despise today's radical feminists, who are part of the far left fringe maniac crowd. They and everything they stand for is revulsive to me.

And Mr. Xavier, if you happen to read this, the venerated Ayatollah Khomeini, the revered Iranian demon that led the great islamic revolution, wrote in great detail the proper procedures for engaging in intercourse with animals and babies. If you're interested in his islamic theological rulings on these matters, you'll find them plastered all over the internet. And make no mistake about it, he is considered the ultimate Shi'ite authority on every issue pertaining to proper islamic conduct. He is dead, thank God, but his heinous legacy lives on.

Posted by: Susanp [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 20, 2007 2:02 AM

A rational, temperate troll is he, Susanp; would probably be most satisfied if his interlocutors lowered themselves to raging hysterics. Thinks Hugh is a self-anointed prophetic paranoid. (It can be said that even paranoids, like stopped clocks, are sometimes right.)

Susanp,

Take the trouble sometime to call this Xavier fellow out about his motives and perspectives--what is his ultimate point and where is he coming from?

(Myself, I'm just a bit too reticent to confront someone head-on, short of red-flag provocation.)

Iranian clerics are among the basest and most vile of all creatures--what else might I say?

"I do not understand how these women who do not respect the hijab, 28 years after the birth of the Islamic Republic, are still alive," he said."

...the next time a man kills his daughter for this reasons and then he and his supporters claim it is not an Islamic issue (amazingly saying it was a domestic issue)....either charge him with murder one (with death sentence) or deport him immediately...

....people like this should not be allowed into your country...Ban Muslim Immigration

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 20, 2007 6:51 AM

I continue to be amazed at how merciless muslim men are towards women in general and muslim women in particular. They cannot seem to find enough reasons to kill them or call for others to kill them. How peaceful.

"Women who do not respect the hijab and their husbands deserve to die," said Hassani
--------------------------------------

What if her husband forbids anyone in his family from wearing hijab. Is she okay then?

Posted by: Provoslavni [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 20, 2007 12:13 PM

Or does this mean the husband should die with the wife?

Posted by: Provoslavni [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 20, 2007 12:14 PM

I think it means more women being killed by the men in their own family.
After all what man in Islam would die defending womens rights?
Slap them bitches down or die
Hassani states "These women and their husbands and their fathers MUST DIE,"

Volume 1, Book 9, Number 490:

Narrated 'Aisha:

The things which annul the prayers were mentioned before me. They said, "Prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey and a woman (if they pass in front of the praying people)." I said, "You have made us (i.e. women) dogs. I saw the Prophet praying while I used to lie in my bed between him and the Qibla. Whenever I was in need of something, I would slip away for I disliked to face him."

Smart girl.

Ralphinfidel,

It is not a call for murder , its intimidation to enforce/control people's behavior...it is indictive of a regime increasingly at odds with its people. A regime that I freely admit is a fascist theocracy that wishes to control its people to the smallest degree. But Iran is not representative of Islam as practised by the bulk of Muslim nations.

Susanp

"...indisputable FACT that females in islam are chattel, owned by males, and unable to seek medical treatment without permission from their male owners."

I dispute this , because there is a difference between Islam in the West , in moderate Islamic countries and in Taliban-like Islamic states. As most Islamic countries arent Talibanised ... and are in fact becoming more Westernised ( snail pace mine you in some cases)I cant see how you can damn all. I called you a feminist because you attributed the literalist Taliban view to all Muslim males ...when in reality there is a continuum that is increasingly weighted away from this literalist view and toward the west. You reminded me of a radical feminist who painted all men as inferior ( as opposed to equal), and thought marriage a form of bondage.

Ayatollah Khomeini is akin to a evil "Mummy" brought to life by evil minions so the land can live under darkness...where it still remians. But as for "engaging in intercourse with animals and babies." I believe the Good Ayatollah practised what he preached with regard to the "babies" , which makes him a monster as well as a promulgator of a monstrous ideology ...but again with the animals?

It looks like somebody's spent too much time on the Dumbo ride in Fantasyland again.

My favorite line is the one about most Islamic countries becoming Westernized. You can all disregard everything Robert and Hugh have said for the past four years here; David Xavier is here to save us all with his musings and thoughtful antidotes. I guess if you can stick your head far enough up your own butt, you can convince yourself that there is no evil to be seen here.

David, it's 1:13am and time for your reality pill.

Posted by: Isabellathecrusader [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 21, 2007 1:13 AM

isabellathecrusader

For someone to assume the monicker you do and talk about "heads up butts" is gobsmacking! Nethertheless its not that there's no 'evil' to be seen , its about Robert's condescending narration and Hugh's "in your face" polemics that deliberately inflames , infuriates , exaggerates and misrepresents the reality of Islam as it exists in various places of the world. They should include the salient fact that Islam is being slowly transformed , that the West has a influence .. ...think about it , after many generations of living in the US , Europe etc... Western cultural imprinting does occur , they speak English..perhaps with your Montana redneck drawl , they get an education, they achieve prosperity ...yet every misguided act, however isolated , is construed as pro the "caliphate" and cited as evidence of a "fifth column". The urban centers of Islamic nations are increasingly westernised and tolerant .. The boring reality is that when clerics , in closed theocracies are threatening people with death to adhere to some notion of propriety , we have won. All we have to ride-out the transistion and deconstruction of this atavistic "religion".

So Isabella , Christian soldier ...Merry Christmas

David Xavier, (if that's your real name,)

You'll need to take off your rose colored glasses to participate in the debates around here. You provide no proof or documentation for your feel good theory that Muslims are becoming more westernized, yet you speak with a condescending air like we should all know this. Take the Redwood out of your own eye before you start digging around for microscopic splinters in Robert's.

Perhaps you are new here and haven't had the benefit of following the daily events that prove what Robert says is true. Since we see you can write I'll take it on faith that you can read, so pick a day, any day, from the last four years worth of archives here, and dive in. You will see over and over again Muslims demanding their "rights" in our western countries and our leaders bending over backwards to give in to them. You'll also see endless stories of Muslims continuing to blow themselves up in Iraq, in Israel, and assorted African territories while taking other people with them while they frankly admit that they are doing it to terrorize the populace so that the people will give in and submit to their Sharia based Islam. Whoops! No westernization there. You will read stories about Muslims murdering their own daughters because they were raped and dishonored the family or because they decide to love someone their family didn't approve of. 'Can't remember the last time that happened in a western family that wasn't born into Islam. You might want to check out stories about the Muslim clerics who have invited the people of the west to convert to Islam, the first step in any Muslim takeover plan, and then go back and read the history of Islamic conquest and you'll see that the same thing Muslims were doing 324 years ago, 435 years ago, 1000 and 1400 some odd years ago is the same thing they are doing today.

Then there's all the fuss over Car-B-Que in France, where whenever a Muslim feels the least bit slighted they burn all the cars in several cities on the same night. Remind me where they do that in America again? Etc, etc., etc.

Perhaps you are not a devil's advocate at all, but a Muslim apologist sent to try and throw a wrench in the works here(silly man,) but you'll have to do better than the simplistic posts you've left here. You really aren't up to the task of taking on any of us, and what's funny (and sad) is that you don't even know you don't know. But we are not an unreasonable bunch. We're willing for people to make mistakes and see the light. Heck, I make them all the time because I'm human, but luckily I'm not a Muslim woman living in Islam, where any little mistake can get you killed.

As far as the head-up-your-butt comment, I'll stand by it. You'll need to pull yours out in order to read the information I've suggested. Once you have come on back and we'll be happy to discuss with you what you've learned.

Merry Christmas to you too. And a Happy, Islamic-free New Year.

Posted by: Isabellathecrusader [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 21, 2007 10:31 AM

Isabella,

Perforce, that is the Infidel New Year, according to the modern Gregorian Calendar. What a marvel of synchronization with the solar year! Islam's calendar, on the other hand, is far inferior to the similarly lunar Jewish Calendar, as the latter keeps pace with the solar year with intercalary--that is, leap--months.

Now, who's science of Astronomy has been allowed to advance, essentially unhindered? (Twelve lunar months of 29 1/2 days is only 354 days!)

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 21, 2007 11:27 AM

With ever-so small refinement since Pope Gregory XIII reformed the Julian Calendar in February 1582, our Western Calendar is accurate to within one day in 20,000 years.

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 21, 2007 11:33 AM

About David--unless he is under deep cover while trolling--he is unlikely to be a pious Muslim while giving you "polytheist" infidel Christmas greetings.

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 21, 2007 11:48 AM

"our Western Calendar is accurate to within one day in 20,000 years." I can live with that!

And about the "infidel" new year, that was our word before the Mohammadans stole it. You and I are not infidels; they are. Long live the Crusades.

David Xavier has an ulterior motive and it's important to correct his inaccuracies since some unsuspecting new person to this site might read his posts and mistakenly take him for someone who knows what he is talking about. His real name is probably Hassam or Shazam or whatever, and he probably works in the mail room at CAIR.

Feliz Navidad, John C!

Buon Natale, Isabella.

David Xavier:
The boring reality is that when clerics , in closed theocracies are threatening people with death to adhere to some notion of propriety , we have won.

That's one of the most blatant reality inversions I've ever read. I guess we could have skipped that whole WWII thing, because as the Holocaust showed, we had already won.

All we have to ride-out the transistion and deconstruction of this atavistic "religion".

Leftist crystal ball alert: "deconstruction", or put in more concrete terms, making assumptions about the assumptions the original authors made. The truths "revealed" by "deconstructive analysis" are typically nothing but the political leanings of the critic, buried in tedious and meaningless blather. What used to be "reading between the lines" has mutated into writing between the lines.

Having said that, if these "linguistic analysts" would apply the same venal antipathy to the Koran that they have to works of the Founding Fathers, and teach it as vigorously, I'm all for it.
